Brush everyday and up in pigtails everyday! That really saved DD1 at that age! (Last year). Her hair is strong enough now that it can be left down.

Detangling spray and a brush. Don't cut it! I never cut my girls' hair until probably 3!

I hear ya! My daughter doesn't have a lot of hair, but she does have fine curly ends that get tangled easily. I've found that the Honest Co. conditioning detangling spray and a small boar bristle brush work wonders! The spray is pricey at $6 for a small bottle, but I've found you don't need much and it works well on my daughter's hair and for freshening up my own. You can find it online or at Target. Good luck!

My DD is 6 and STILL has her fine baby hair. She (and I) can't wait until she has what she calls "pony tail hair". Her baby hair grows soooooo sloooooooow. It actually turns crusty...yes crusty...if we forget conditioner during bathtime. I don't recommend the spray in conditioners, personally, they just make it look greasy. The Wet Brush is a godsend.

Conditioner after washing, a detangle spray and little clips until long enough for pigtails
Welcome to the joys (horror) of girls hair. I'm taming 5 little heads a day

My ds2 has lovely wavy hair below his shoulders & I slap the conditioner on the ends of his hair every time I wash it. It stops it from getting knotty. My Mum used to plait my hair every night before bed.
