    Granola bars

I made some granola bars today and they were so yummy and easy to prepare.

    Oats
    Dates made into a paste
    Almonds
    Walnut
    Desiccated coconut
    Dried apricots and
    Dark chocolate

Quick question. I tried to make these a very boy friendly snack. Is there anything I can add or subtract in order to make them a better boy snack?

    Is desiccated ok?

How many dates did you put in? I make homemade Lara bars with dates, almonds, and dark chocolate. I keep saying I'm going to make some with cashews but then I get lazy.

    Recipe for these oat bars

1 1/2 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of dates pitted and pureed
    1/4 honey
1/2 cup of almonds and walnut mix
    1/4 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut
Handful of dried apricots, chopped up
About a 1/4 dark chocolate chips if you don't have chips use a dark chocolate bar and chop it up

Put oats on a baking tray and slightly toast them about 6 mins

Add to a bowl add all the above ingredients and mix well. Use your hands!

Put down a baking sheet in a brownie tin and place your mix n it and squash down

Put in freezer for about 20 mins

Cut into granola bars and enjoy! Store in fridge

**If you find your bars are not sticking that well when u are mixing them add more pureed dates to help bind**
