  1. #1

    Love Opk+ now what

I just got an opk+. I last bd on cd16, today is cd19. Should I wait 4 days and bd on cd20 or do it today? How long after I get an opk+ do I ovulate? Trying to optimize my chances of a girl.

    Thank u!

I don't know for sure, but with that kind of timing I think you might need another asap bd session to catch the egg.

I am in (kind of) the same boat. We bd the morning of CD 14, first positive opk morning of CD 15. Then neg CD 15 pm, strong pos CD 16 am, neg cd16 pm, and another strong pos CD 17 am today. Now I'm out of tests so I won't be taking anymore, but what the heck?!
Now I'm getting frustrated and worried that our attempt was too early and our plan was one attempt. I usually O on day 16.,

    Sorry to hijack!

LoveRR, how long have you been TTC? If no more than 3 cycles, I'd stick to BDing every 4 days so wait for CD20. If you've been trying 3 cycles without luck and feel confident in diet, I'd BD on CD19 but definitely no earlier than that.

mkddav, could you have PCOS? Can you get more OPKs? Also, what brand OPKs are you using? Generally you only worry about the first positive OPK and assume you will O 1-2 days after. But when a surge is longer than 2 days it can sometimes mean it takes longer for the egg to pop. Especially if you have PCOS. That said, even women without PCOS can still have longer surges but as I said, it often means O occurs later, around the last day of positive OPKs. Have your OPKs been fading out at all?

My BD advice to you is the same. Stick with E4D if on 1st to 3rd month TTC, if you have been TTC longer than 3 months go to E3D but no earlier.

Lots of us Oing together! I am Oing right now I believe.

I just wanted to mention as well that if you got strong positives in the morning and negs in the pm, there could also be another 2 reasons for this. Firstly, were you testing with fmu in the am? Secondly, your tests done in the pm could've been weaker due to your urine sample being more diluted. Usually you are just meant to test once a day with OPK tests and keep it at the same time each day to get more accurate results. If you test in the morning, don't use first morning urine unless your test specifically tells you too. It's common to O late sometimes so you prob Oed on CD 17 or 18. My last cycle I got 4 days in a row of pos OPKs. It totally threw me as I have only ever gotten 2 (or maybe 3 occasionally) in a row. Good luck ladies getting a BFP.
2008 2010 2012 August 2015 at 10 weeks and CP June 2016 2019. My longed-for baby girl (DD2) arrived into the world safe and sound on 13th June 2019 . We named her Lucia Anna Catalina. I still can't believe she is here and often have to pinch myself. I am one VERY blessed Mumma. She also has a dimple like her big sister.

Thanks, think I O'ed yesterday on CD 17. (Possibly day 16 based on chart, time will tell) I do have pcos, well controlled on metformin. But three days of + tests is unusual for me.
RR, any updates? I have been wondering about you!
