Love Antibiotics sway? Massive uterine infection

I thought I read probiotics sway blue. How do antibiotics sway?

After the D&C they left a piece of retained placenta that has a blood vessel attached so it won't quit bleeding. I spent 4 days in the hospital and got home last night. They gave me an antibiotic thru IV for 24 hrs and now I am on 2 others. I got freaking MRSA superbug no less! I am terrified how this will effect my future fertility, I called me RE for advice and am waiting to hear back. At the drs today, the nurse said it seemed like everything that COULD go wrong DID go wrong, and I said at least they hadn't killed me..but qualified that with a YET!

I have never been so sick, Im so weak I can't walk properly.

OBVIOUSLY we're going to have to wait a bit to TTC again. I'm so scared they're going to screw up my fertility. If they mess up my already sensitive kidneys, I won't be ab;e to have another at all. I feel so afraid. It's scary being so sick and not being able to look after yourself.

If any of you have commented on my ohter posts, thank you, I'm too tired to go read them yet but will and am always grateful for your thoughts.

Anyway, if antibiotics do sway blue, how long do I need them out of my system to make them not sway?

In any case, gotta get better FIRST, this is beyond reasonable.

    Thanks ladies.

I am so sorry! What a terrible ordeal!!

I have never seen one iota of evidence that antibiotics sway blue. They said that on some sites but it had to do with pH which is no longer looking like any kind of reliable sway tactic.

While I do believe probiotics sway blue, at the same time I strongly recommend you take them to prevent serious health issues that may arise after being treated with antibiotics. You don't have to take them indefinitely, but you do need to recolonize your intestines with some good microorganisms before some really bad guys can set up shop.

Thanks Atomic. I am going to do the full course if antibiotics and whatever else is needed to get better, as well as probiotics after. I feel so weak and ill--I've never been this sick. I was just wondering.

I certainly have 3 full months before I will be well enough I think. I hope after all this I will still be able to have a baby.

I'm so sorry hun. I can't believe your bad luck. I do think ABs sway pink, personally, as do infections.

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Well, at least I have closure and a possible answer to the infection, I had chorioamniocetisis or whatever they call an infection of the amniotic fluid. A simple broad spectrum antibiotic would have probably saved her. Knowing that makes me so angry, the drs were so complacent because of my previous preterm birth (35 weeks). That said, it gives me hope for next time that at least it wasn't my body.

All in all, I feel like sticking progesterone suppositories in my vag 3x a day may have caused it. I tried to be so clean and always washed my hands before and when the spotting started I bought gloves to be sure I wasn't adding germs. I think it was too late then. I can't help but feel I killed my baby with my own stupidity or ineptitude.

I'm glad for an answer, and Im glad not to be crying all day every day anymore, but this hurt is never going to go away I think.

Thanks for everyone's support thru this ordeal. The infection isn't gone, but I'm glad to be home from the hospital. I hope to stop bleeding soon and my cycles return to normal so we can ttc again, but my dr doesn't know what to do. I'm waiting for a call from my RE to advise, there is still vascularized retained placenta that continues to bleed. So frustrating.

It is not your fault at all Lily, please don't blame yourself. There was absolutely no earthly way you could know and I think doctors are so ridiculously uninvolved over threatened miscarriages that it's galling.

I am glad you're improving and I hope you're fully better soon. Hugest (((Hugs))).
