Caffeine & Boy Sway

Hi everyone!

So, I know that to sway for a boy, it is best to keep your caffeine levels down. Currently, I drink coffee. But, how far in advance of my sway should I cut it out of my diet?

Also, I know that green tea is a big boy sway. Should I drink decaf green tea?

Lastly- should my husband cut out coffee and drink green tea too? I read someone where that men should drink espresso right before trying to conceive, but I'm doubting the legitimacy.

DH drinking coffee before BD helps the sperm be more active and swim better. So yes, it is a boy sway tactic.

I have two boys and never drank coffee or alcohol at all. I drank regular (not decaf) green and white tea daily (1-2 cups sweetened with honey). We don't know what it is about tea that sways boy, it's probably something else besides caffeine. So stick to regular tea, not decaf.

My DH has always been a coffee drinker so I don't think yours needs to cut it out, unless he's drinking extreme amounts. Mine drinks 2 cups a day.

Moderate caff intake is fine and appears neutral. It's only in excess of 3 cups a day that it seems to sway pink (and that is COFFEE, we honestly do not know if tea has any sort of similar effect)

No need to cut it out entirely nor drink decaf green tea. I'd have you switch from coffee to tea and just be sensible with it. No caffeine is like torture LOL and I got 4 boys drinking black tea by the gallon.

Yes it's a bit of an old wives tale that caff. right before BD "makes Y go faster". It does make sperm swim around quick, but there is no evidence that it does anything to improve conception rates or boy conceptions at all and in fact the fastest sperm are usually dead on arrival and cannot fertilize any egg at all. I do keep it in the mix just because it's possible but my husband never drank caffiene anything before we got our boys!
