Wondering how early you started the diet hard core. What about supplements? I will start ca and mg with the diet. For the supplements that are only taken AF-O (like cranberry and licorice for DH), did you do those in the couple months before ttc while on the diet or just in the months you were ttc? And fasting - no breakfast, low blood sugar - with the start of the diet or only the ttc months?
I am really only worried about the low blood sugar - I tend to get a little woozy. I have a job where decisions I make can affect the safety of others and I have to be able to respond quickly. I am ok with no breakfast but might not do well with lowish glucose all the time. I am planning to take off a couple of days around O when I start ttc so I can really fast those days without worry.

I've started the diet 6+weeks in advance. Started folic acid + calc +vit d +vit b6 several months in advance.
Whilst doing the diet I've skipped breakfast and tried not to snack but not been so good at the not snacking. At minimum I think you should at least be doing that from ov to 10dpo.
If you are worried about how you will concentrate perhaps its best to eat something small and easily digested in the mornings when you go to work?

I started diet and supps 2 months before ttc. The low-blood sugar thing is important, but most important while you ar actually ttc and in the 2ww. If it were me, I'd just see how long you can last before needing something to eat in the morning. If you usually eat at 7am but can get yourself to 8am then that's still going to help.

I started the diet, Vitex and Saw P around 3 months before our attempt. I was surprised by how OK I felt on the Low Everything diet - I usually eat a lot but I didn't feel weak and found it easy to get to lunchtime by having a coffee with sweetener when I woke and again mid-morning (though lunchtime was sometimes 11am!).

1)It is really up to you how soon you start the diet. Some say 3 months (because that's the lifespan of an egg) and others say 6 weeks (because that's what the FGD recommended). I think that pH and blood sugar go down right away, while testosterone and estrogen take some time to go down.
2)You don't HAVE to skip breakfast if you can't do it. You can skip lunch, skip dinner, or skip nothign at all and just avoid snacks and don't eat large meals. The only reason I say to skip breakfast is because it's easy for people to do.
Some people found that easing into the diet was a lot easier than diving in headfirst, so you might just want to make gentle changes for a few weeks.
3)You do not need to fast, just eat 2-3 meals a day, no snacking, skip a meal if you can, wait to eat until you're actually hungry, and don't eat big huge Thanksgiving-dinner style meals that take forever to digest.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Cool. Thanks! I am following the Dutch study which recommends 9 weeks of diet. I start the diet Nov 1. I am trying to get my blood drawn next week and then will repeat them in 5 weeks like they did in the study. (measured sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium levels)

NaG - did you find the details of the Dutch study and exactly which foods were allowed?
AS - it seems to me that skipping breakfast might not only be easiest, but that it'll be the meal to drop that will result in the LONGEST period of no food and hence the longest period of low blood sugar

I totally agree Rainbow...the only prob is that blood sugar may rise naturally first thing in the morning regardless of when you eat and so it may be that skipping another meal is just as effective as skipping breakfast, in the big picture. But, since we can't know, I figure skipping anything is better than skipping nothing!
