Long cycle - should I still ttc or skip this month?

I need advice on my ttc plan.

So i normally have 30-36 days cycle and O around cd 15-18. This last cycle was our first month ttc and things of course go haywire. To be fair, my sleep was all messed up a week or so before O (i would wake up at least 4-5 times every night) due to stress and multiple other things. So my body was gearing up for O, but O didn't actually happen. All the signs were there, high soft open cervix, opk got really dark, but no sustained temp spike at all. It looks like my body geared up couple times but couldn't pull through to O.

I think my body decides to skip a cycle instead. If my theory is correct, my body will try to O again in a week or so. If it does happen, should we go for it or should we just skip this time and wait for next month since it is really late now (cd42). Do I need to worry about egg quality and miscarriage? Would it be the same egg that tried to be released earlier or would my body develop another one after so many fail attempts?

This is my longest cycle ever. I dont recall this happen before so I am not sure what to do.

I don't really have any answers as to why it's so long but if you do O then why not go for it? Your body doesn't make a new egg it releases what's there. I'm on CD21 and still haven't O'd either. Opk was neg again today. Hopefully everything's ok for you and someone can give you some advice

Can you tell me more about your diet? Have you gained a lot of weight? Are you eating a lot of carbs??

Looking at your chart that is def. anovulatory for now. You very well may still O though. Personally I'd have you try it. The "long cycle = bad egg" idea has never been proven at all and in fact a lot of evidence points the OTHER way - that your egg is just "sleeping" until you're ready to ovulate it. IF there is anything to it, it is in ladies who go 6-12 months or more without ovulating and not just the occasional long cycle.

It is up to you though and if you'd prefer to sit out the month that's cool, but please let me help with diet in case we can fix anything to make this less likely in future. (I do suspect this is a "watched pot never boils" thing and not a diet thing)

Babybeaublue: thank you. I hope we both will O soon.

Atomic: Thank you for your advice, Atomic. I have gained about 5 pounds with HE diets. I was about 113lbs, 5'3" before diet. I am now 117-120lbs. I love having carbs with my meals but not really excessively (i think lol). Let me know what you think about my diet, so i could decide on whether I should sit this one out or give it a go. I have had some cramps and lots of CM for the past 2 days. I think I might (finally) O soon.

    Here is my diet:

Breakfast: egg and some potato or oatmeal or donuts

Lunch: some meat and rice, hamburger & fries, soups

    Snack: banana, nuts, dark chocolate

Dinner: rice, meat (chicken, beef, fish, seafood), veggie

Steaks is not really my thing, so I normally just have stir-fried beef or something along the line of that. The week or 2 before my usual O day, I would try to eat steak 3 times a week.

I have a question about drinking milk. I am lactose intolerant so I don't drink milk. I do drink boba milk tea from the asian stores about 3 times a week. They use non-dairy creamer. Should i stop drinking the milk tea? I am not sure if it sways pink or blue.

No more weight gain if you can help it but that should all be ok.

Your diet looks really good, I completely understand about the carbs but you may want to just cut them back a smidge.

I got my last 2 boys being lactose intolerant. I still had gobs of full fat dairy in the form of cheese and yogurt though. I do not think 3 days a week with non-dairy creamer would hurt anything BUT it is quite a lot of veg. based fats in those, and those fats may sway at least somewhat PINK. I can still have cream (it has very little milk sugar in it) so you may want to try that to see if you tolerate it ok, but I seriously doubt that 3 days a week hurts anything.

Atomic: thank you. I will try to cut back on carb a little bit. And just to be clear, you meant veg based fats may sway blue or pink? If it somewhat sways blue then i should be good for my blue sway, right?

Vegetable based fats sway PINK PINK PINK and should be limited for blue. So I get concerned when I see people ingesting a lot of them (especially in drinks, like almond milk and non dairy creamer) because it's really easy to suck down a whole lot of them in drink form and then you've still not had any actual food for the day.
