    1 year sway

    Hello,

DH and I are planning to start a true sway next year at this time. However, we both want to slowly incorporate some of the sway tactics into our lifestyle right now so its not too overwhelming come next year. I have about 50 pounds to lose at this point and DH is a meat addict. I was wondering what and how you ladies think i can slowly begin a sway.

ALso, DH is not sure what is ideal for him to be doing. I have researched on here that ideally he should cut eggs, and meat. Lower his overall fat intake to lower his Testosterone. He drinks coffee, a lot of beer and smokes right now. Anything else diet or supplement wise for him?

For me... I am thinking i will start incorporating crystal light into my life again, begin to limit my meat (i don't eat much meat or eggs), skip breakfast and only have coffee (tea is a no no right?) and monitor my overall fat intake. ( I eat ALOT of avocados and cheese).

I don't know I'm a bit overwhelmed since I am still breastfeeding. Im not sure if i should just focus on losing my baby weight or if i should use these 50 pounds to gradually come off as I gradually incorporate a sway.

Because truthfully...... side note here... I am an emotional eater and I am so influenced by DH. Before him i never would go out of my way to eat meat. I was pretty vegetarian and lived off bread and hummus and tortilla wraps!. But with my emotions I Overeat and with DH I have been eating fattier foods these past 3 years (Hence I have 2 beautiful boys). I do think that for personal reasons watching my fat intake can perhaps lower my T and therefore lower my anxious emotions. I would personally love to get a grip on them. I coincidentally have never been as anxious as I have been while eating so fatty with DH. So I would like for me to get back to who I was before while keeping this sway in mind.

    Sorry so much info.
    Thanks
Lucky wife to my DH and lucky mom to two sweet boys

Right here and now I do NOT want you on a sway diet. Sway diets tend to be carbier and when you have some extra weight, it's going to come off WAY faster if you're eating at least somewhat lower carbs.

Crystal Light probably does nothing and it's certainly not going to do anything at this point. It's fine if you use it for help with weight loss but just don't count on it to sway.

Best (well, not best, but you get my drift LOL) thing hubby can do is smoking. The drinking and coffee should help too. I'd not make him give up anything yet.

My concern is that starting swaying a year out may make it lose some of its "oomph". I'd not start a sway diet till 12 weeks before you plan to TTC. While longer has been better, that's longer than 12 weeks, in terms of up to 6 months total. I have not seen enough people start swaying that far out in advance to really KNOW if it even works to diet for that long.

i was kind of hoping to have a girl friendly diet and lifestyle and then come the final 12 weeks prior tic i would get more restrictive with calories and exercise and foods.

i think going from 0 to 100 is too hard to adjust to for us (hubby said as well) and ill be going back to work when i start to sway next march and tic that september.i kind of want it to be effortless at that point so I'm not consumed with or stressed about what to eat etc. kind of like id like o do the dirty work now lol

I understand but a year is a long time. You have plenty of time if you start at 6 months or even 3 months. I do not want you to end up undermining your potential for success by starting so far in advance on diet that you either totally adjust to it or else end up burning out on it (thinking more for DH's part on this!)
