41 and trying to get pregnant

Hi,ladies.Sorry,my english is not to good.
Little about me.I have two sons,9 year and 18 months old.We would like to have on last child. My first child was an oops, with pull out.For my second we ttc 5-6months.
With my first i was obese 275 lbs, with my second 250 lbs.
    I lost a lot of weight,i have lapband.Now i weight around185.
I never eat breakfast, but we are potato and meat family.
I really would like to have a girl. The last two weeks i dieted,i dont eat meat at all.I eat around 12,then 15.I take folate.
I drink 3 cups of strong coffee with a little honey.I never liked alcohol, but the last week i drank every day a glass of martini.
My husband is 40.He is taking OLE daily and going to work with bike.(20km)
We dont have to much time so we DTD yesterday doggy style. Both my boys was missionary position.
From AF we BD with condom every second day.And yesterday the opks was almost as dark as the control line so we BD.Today morning the opk was still positive. We shoul do it again? We did it to early?
Two more things about us.We both are smoking and i have a ring pessary because of uterus prolapse.
I did not take it off.Last cycle i had a CP with the pessary,i thought that is ok to leavet it inside.
What do you think, can i make or take something for my fertility and still have a chance for my girl?
    Thank you for your sugestion.

    Hi and welcome!

I think you should stick with your one attempt for now but it is up to you - at 41 time is obviously not our friend here. The ONLY reason I suggest not adding another attempt right away is because you've only been on diet 2 weeks. My gut instinct is for you to hold steady with one attempt this month and by the time next month rolls around, you will have 6 weeks on diet, which is better results for us.

Can you ask your doc about the pessary?? I have seen a lot of conflicting info on whether you are supposed to take it out or not - many people take it out at around 3 months' gestation but others took it out to TTC. I think it makes a difference how severe it is and if you can function without it.

So did you get a positive yesterday? Or not?

If you did not get a positive yesterday, then BD. If you DID get a positive yesterday then hold with that attempt.
