ttc a girl - set to ovulate thursday

Hello all... My husband and I are both 35.. have two little boys and are ttc a baby girl ... we have been trying for about 8 months with the shettles method some months and the babydust method some months.. no luck so far... i am set to ovulate this Thursday.. i naturally follow the LE diet, exercise daily and have been using rephresh... with only about 4-5 days until ovulation what method would be best for ttc? any opinions.. Start FR or one time on day of ovulation? husband hasn't released in 8 days ... i am running out of time in my opinion so we don't want to waste another month not trying.. ( ordered custom plan a few days ago but would like to try this cycle)

So can you clarify are you frustrated with taking so long to conceive and are ready to start dropping things? Or do you still want to sway hard this month??

There is not enough time for FR. Don't have him do FR. And under NO circumstances do not start BD more than one time now until we have a chance to get all this sorted out!

THere are ways for us to boost conception, but we have got to do this the right way. I hate to see you guys going on so long doing things like timing which don't even work, and then chucking it all in (as anyone would) and practically swaying blue in order to conceive. We have to drop the things that don't work while keeping the things that do!

thanks for replying.. i definitely don't want to just ttc but to ttc pink.. this will be my last baby so im trying to be patient.. i always said I'd never conceive after age 33 and here I am almost 36 but I just don't feel complete without really trying all I can for that baby girl.. okay so no FR this month are you thinking I should just do a one attempt since ovulation in approaching this week? With both my boys i DTD from the time i got a smiley face on my opk for about 3-4 days ... so im so scared to ttc on those smiley days.. but the stopping before ovulation hasn't been working either.. desperate

also other than the rephresh is there anything else that would help? like antihistamines?

Right, but you DTD many times in a row, which we have found blue friendy (not to mention all the other stuff going on in your life that may have swayed blue) You did NOT get boys because you BD on the day of smiley, since many of us have done that and gotten girls (myself included!)

What I'd like to see is you do one attempt without Shettles, without Babydust. Both O-2 and O-1 are good odds of conception so if you really can't let go of timing yet then aim for O-2 if your cycle is fairly regular or second "flashy" if you're using CBFM or similar fertility monitor. THen, to guard against delayed O start BD every 4-5 days after that so if an egg shows up late, at least you have some chance at it.

Drop things like REpHresh and antihistamine. Our results have shown that they do not help pink sways (same number of people having pink success with and without them) and additionally, they really cut odds of conception. At this point, 8 months in I NEVER have any pink swayer using these things any more. So it's time to let go of the stuff that doesn't work and focus on the stuff that does.

ok thanks so much for the help.. I didn't use rePhresh those 8 cycles.. I just bought it a week ago for this cycle... My past 8 months i never did any supplements either.. all timing

I understand but I would never, ever have someone add in RepHresh at this point. All we would do is be trading one thing that doesn't work and really cuts odds of conception, for another.

8 months is time to stop using things that don't work and refocus on the things that do.

Use the sperm from the abstain. Having him release now will not help make healthy sperm (abstain can't be undone with just one release) and additionally it will really cut odds of conception. In future months we will probably lose the abstain, it's just that it's already done now for this month so we may as well use it in case it has any benefits for the sway.
