Hello ~
First, I want to say the I MISS all my swaying friends here!!![]()
I was wondering if there is a 50/50 chance for a girl after you stop swaying?
I chose to stop swaying since I am on clomid and really need to conceive as soon as possible. I am on round 3 and my OB told me on Friday that he will only do 4 rounds of clomid.
Right now we are planning our attempt and we are doing everything that we can to conceive, which all feels "boy" to me and I am little sad about it. ugh!
Thank you!

Is there really a 50/50 chance of a girl if I am not swaying?

I would just up your calcium intake, don't eat much sodium and hope for the best.
Can you do IVF?

I'm skeptical of 50/50 odds. This is what I struggle with because I'm fine with 50/50 for my last baby but I wonder if those are really the odds. I'm also pretty skeptical about swaying, but I do think there are certain unknown (at least to me) factors that cause gender to run in families. I'm not sure that you can control those factors through swaying (and am pretty certain that an undisciplined person like me can't lol), but I tend to think the odds are not 50/50 in any given couple. Can't tell the gender of your kiddos but if you have a lot of boys, I second the though on IVF--especially seems to be reasonable since you're already on clomid.

Happyheart, TTC5 posted a study yesterday that I've read as well ... it has some of the most comprehensive stats I've seen (1.4 mil children, 700,000 couples) and looks at sex ratios, birth order and family size. In that group (doubting there was swaying involved to any extent that would impact the study) if the 1st 3 were males, only 52.4% were males for the 4th. So yes, I'd say it is still close enough to 50/50.
This is the study, table 2 is where it lists the outcome of each successive pregnancy given the preceding pregnancies:

nbp and lilian78 ~ great tips! Thank you!!! I wish I could do IVF, I have never really looked too much into it as I have always felt like it has to be out of our price range. My dh told me the other day that he would OK anything that needs to happen in order to conceive.... but I know how much we struggle with our $$ and that it would be stressful for him.
begonia ~ Thank you so much!!! That is really good news!!!! I will read it!

Do you have insurance coverage?

Not for infertility. We are paying for everything that has to do with infertility (doctor's visits, blood work, and meds). Wish I did!! Our insurance is through my husbands job and he works for the State. It is pretty good insurance except for this.

Some states have mandated coverage. Michaela is a great resource for that.

Well, Im pretty darn sure that this little nugget is a girl and my "sway" sucked big time(to put it nicely
) LOL I did the diet for 2 weeks and then got tired of stressing about it so I just quit it cold turkey, ate for 6 days straight, and got pregnant by accident with O-3 timing. I did do jump and dump, because we weren't ttc, but other than that and some vitex.... I had pretty much a lazy sway. I would say maybe try to do the opposite of what you were doing when you ttc the boys but just leave out the diet. Or slightly change it like NBP suggests. I really hope you get your girlie
I've been thinking about you

Oh! Who is Michaela?
HI DM!Thank you so much!! I sooooooo hope your little one is a girl too!!!
I do not think your sway sucked!!
I can't even say that I am swaying any longer. After I ovulated I went back to my normal eating habits because I really wanted to gain some weight back and honestly I was just stressed about it and not conceiving. I dropped the diet pop (I never drank pop normally). I am eating pretty healthy right now with proteins and veggies trying to make my body as healthy as possible. And we will be using lots of preseed.
I have this deep fear that I will not conceive again ever!It probably seems weird... I know.
As much as I REALLY want a girl, I would be completely over the moon just having another little love in my arms again.
I sometimes wonder if I needed to go through all of this just to realize that my gender dream can change.
THANK YOU again! I am thinking about you!!
