Hi everyone,
I’m back doing LE again after our sway that ended in MC last year, I found that I did the diet for 6 ish weeks before I started exercising last time and I only noticed losing any weight once I started working out, not from what I was eating I spent a week tracking my normal diet on my fitness pal before I started this sway and I feel like I eat more swaying than I do normally, my normal diet would be quite a lot of snacking but I just eat a lot of crisps or chocolate (terrible I know) and would only have one meal in the evening so my protein was a lot higher than LE guidelines but my overall calorie intake was usually around 1000 give or take, I don’t know if I’m not losing weight because I’m eating more than normal or whether I should be doing the PCOS version? We aren’t doing our first attempt until March so I have some time to tweak anything that needs it
Thanks x

Anyone who doesn't lose weight should be doing the PCOS version.
It is fine for you to have 1200 calories on LE but no less than that. Still get 50-60 g protein, 50-60 g fat if you can (since this is part of PCOS-type LE Diet) if you have to fudge a bit on that, it's ok, but do not drop below 45 g protein and fat.

Hi atomic, I’ve had a read through the PCOS LE and I get it for the post part switching white for whole grain and higher I intakes of most things but I feel confused about things like on LE you chose the less nutrinal option like white grapes instead of red.. is that the same or would it be the opposite? I tend to stress and I know everything I was eating on LE and now I’m flapping cos I don’t know what to eat haha! I was wondering if I stuck to my 1200 (more if I can) and all the normal LE guidelines and just switched white for whole grain is that ok? Or does it have to be one diet completely or the other? X

When we originally started off we thought cutting nutrients in everything, even silly little things like grapes, might make a difference. Over time we have found it really doesn't matter at all, that it's the big things like protein, fat, calories, and fortified foods that matter and not the difference between white/red grapes. i do still keep it in the mix (all things being equal, pick the less nutritious option) but it really hasn't seemed to make a difference at all.
Yes after having read your other posts I completely agree your best option may simply be eating like normal and cutting back on sugar and swapping out white for whole grain products.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
