    Still not pregnant-Swaying boy

So I’m now under the care of an RE. I’m supposed to start my first IUI next cycle. All bloodwork is normal of course. I really don’t know how I got to this point. I have two DD’s. Lucky for me my first was a one shot deal with an M/C in between then took a year to have DD 2. I just keep asking myself what the heck is wrong with me. Anyone else go through this and care to share? I’d love to hear success stories. It’s been about 10 cycles already.

7 months of TTC baby #3 and My blood work was normal however my eggs were poor, ovulation was weak, or i simply was not ovulating despite normal blood work..so that could be the issue at hand. One cycle of clomid confirmed this basically when i had my ovaries monitored because of the clomid and we actually saw a large healthy egg and confirmed ovulation AND concieved DD3 that same cycle...after her birth i breastfed for 8 months and she and i sort of weaned off of it together and by month 9 i ovulated and conceived her next sibling DD4...IUI may work but if not you may need clomid or femara to rule out ovulatory issues

    Hi Burakoam,
Thank you for your reply. The thing is is that I have been on three rounds of clomid already. First two cycles 50mg with confirmed O and then third cycle on 100mg with confirmed O which is why my OB sent me to an RE. I’m pretty stubborn and not ready to give up but am tired of getting AF every month.

Some people do better on Femara than Clomid fyi. How old are you, and do you have any knowledge of DH here? Hormones, semen analysis?

It’s funny you say that TP, I was going to ask my doctor if I could just take Femera for one cycle before IUI. My husband has had an SA and all is good with him. When you say they do better do you mean they have a stronger ovulation? I have heard that but not sure what people mean by it.

Clomid is not as effective for as many people compared to Femara. Femara is also less likely to result in twins, affect uterine lining and affect cervical mucus. Yes, Femara is supposed to produce a stronger ovulation as well. That usually means the follicle releasing the egg is more likely to produce more progesterone and the egg itself is likely to be mature.

We have had lots of people go through this and come out on the other side with a baby.

I would def. try Femara because if you aren't ovulating well, IUI will not be any better (unless they're using injectibles!)

What injectables are you talking about? Ovidrel? If so why does that make IUI better? This is all new to me so I have no idea what all this means. I just can’t wrap my head around why it’s taking so long.

It doesn't make IUI better, it may be better at making you ovulate than Clomid.

My point is, if you're not responding well to the Clomid, it makes no sense to then do Clomid + IUI. But maybe I was just assuming you weren't responding well since they increased your dose. As long as you're ovulating on Clomid it would be ok to continue with it.

She's talking about FSH injectibles. They cost hundreds if not covered by insurance. You always take ovidril with iui.
