Hi Dr. H!
I have three healthy boys who were conceived easily on the first or second try. I've been trying for a girl through IVF and I've had three failed embryo transfers, all with good quality blasts, normal by 24-chromosome testing. The first was BFN and the other two were chemical pregnancies (beta never above 60). I had an MRI and my RE diagnosed me with adenomyosis (14mm thickness). I am now in my 3rd month of Lupron Depot for the adeno and will be going back for an FET in December. I have not done any immune testing as my RE doesn't really believe in it, although he offered Intralipid treatment if I want it. He said they generally only give it by patient request, he believes more in placebo effect than anything else. DH is not that keen on the Intralipid, so after some research I found suggestions that fish oil may have a similar effect on NK cell activity. So, I have several questions for you:
- As I said, I haven't been tested for NK levels, etc. but I have read of possible immune cell imbalances in connection with endometriosis. Do you believe that I have reason to be concerned, in light of the adenomyosis?
- What is your take on the Intralipid treatment?
- How about fish oil? I started supplementing with about 1000mg EPA and 700mg DHA a few days ago, so I would be on it for 5 weeks prior to FET.
- I was planning to add baby aspirin but I just saw your other thread. I am 39 and my lining has been at 9mm for my transfers. So I should avoid the aspirin?
- Would you suggest Medrol or another steroid? My RE does not prescribe it as part of my protocol... but he doesn't believe it would hurt so he said I can take it. How long would you suggest I take it?
- Anything else I could do to help implantation succeed?
Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate all your advice. It's really wonderful to have you here.![]()

Hi Jacqueline
I am going to speak to a medical colleague ( a genius) of mine on Friday as he specialises in Adenomyosis amongst other things and I know he will have some good advice to share.
I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Keep smiling and hang in there.
Big Hugs
Dr H xx

Oh in the mean time, I like Vitamin E and Fish Oil is fine.
Do not take Aspirin at this point.

I hope you don't mind me coming in but i have had 2 chemicals, conceive very very easily. I have be asked to go down the immune testing route but i am not sure how it works if you can conceive naturally how there would be immune issues? I know IVF, is different but i can't get my head round it all. Any help would mean a lot!
