One attempt oops

So...say you did something stupid (because you miscalculated in other areas) and dtd on a flashing smiley OPK. I honestly thought my hormones had gone crazy and I was on my period (sorry tmi). Looks like maybe I’m not on my period (but still not sure). Say I did get a solid smiley either tomorrow or the next day. Should I have another attempt or just leave it at this one?

It is up to you and you need to decide based on what you personally want from a sway and how long you've been trying.

if you want the best chance of pink, stick with attempt you've already had.

If you want the best chance of conception, add an attempt. (only you can decide this!)

If it's been 4 or more days before you get smiley, then have another attempt anyway.

Thank you, the bleeding has got heavier this evening so I think it’s a surprise period. The joys of a hormone imbalance! But I’ve learnt I’m going to have to OPK all cycle from now on!

Can you give me more info? I'm sure you talked about this in a different thread but just so it's all here under one roof, how long are your normal cycles? When did the pos OPK come?

So nice of you, thank you. My cycles used to be regular-ish at about 34 days but they’ve gone a bit haywire in the last few months. I introduced myo at the beginning of March (having had a madly short LP on Agnus castus). March was a super long cycle and I got a peak OPK on cd36. Period came on CD48 :-/

This time it looks like I ovulated CD 18 or 19 (April) but I discounted a couple of higher temps cos I had a cold plus all OPKs were negative. I started getting a flashing smiley on Thurs (CD26). Has been flashing ever since but started spotting CD26 as well and now am bleeding enough for me to think it’s my period. No positive OPK. I had some ov bleedjng CD 18 too so I reckon I must have ovulated then after all. Randomly I also had sex on CD 18 thinking it was safe. But looks like I have my period now anyway.

It's very common to get a flashy smiley right before your period arrives.

Yep what it sounds like to me is that you Oed CD 18ish and this is AF arriving.

I got a faint positive pregnancy test today which is just so weird. It seemed too heavy to be an implantation bleed. We weren’t ttc when we had sex on CD18 - it was a practice! I didn’t do j&d or any of the things I had planned to. Had also had a bit of a cheat week because I thought I was so far from ovulating. And...PCOS. I wasn’t expecting it to happen that quickly when we did try. Will test again in a few days in case it’s a random issue with the test but I’m in a bit of a spin now
