Other things besides treadmill and walking for cardio?

I get on the treadmill 5 or more days a week for at least one hour. I walk around alot! But I think I stopped seeing weight loss results and was wondering what other cardio things can I do? Any YouTube videos? Can I do squats or does that sway boy?

I’m in no way a swaying expert but I asked a bit ago if I could do crunches. I was told that swayed but because it was the equivalent of lifting weights (the weight you’re lifting if your body) so I’d think the answer would be the same for squats. [emoji4]

Have you tried cycling or the elliptical? Those tend to keep me more interested. I usually try to listen to a new podcast or watch something on Netflix to pass the time. My gym has a stationary bike that had the elliptical motion so I feel more productive. I just switch up if I feel bored with one or the other.

I was wondering about jumping rope for ten minutes? Would that be in the girl category with running?

I would avoid any musclebuilding exercises like squats if you possibly can. Don't take this TOO seriously since many cardio exercises have squats and lunges in them, they won't kill ya if you do a few but I'd not make it a cornerstone of a workout.

You may have just plateaued and need to wait for your body to adjust.

I LOVE Popsugar fitness and beyond love Blogilates. Both have some cardio and some muscle but it's easy enough to do just the cardio ones.

Some people have done Zumba and other dancy type workouts as well.

That's fine, but does have a couple downsides. Firstly jumping rope is hard (impossible) to sustain for 60 minutes and it can be very hard on the joints causing injury. I would much rather see you guys walk leisurely for 60 min. than to go b@lls to the wall for 10 min. jumping rope only to end up getting hurt. Main mistake people make with exercise is doing too much too hard and ending up injured or giving up since it's so miserable for them.

Secondly, it's pretty tough for many women to jump rope. Unless you have a good sports bra (and I mean an excellent one, the kind that cost $75) it's hard on your chesticles LOL and I can attest firsthand that if you have even the slightest bladder control issues from having had your kiddos, it will manifest itself in horrifying ways when jumping rope.

I just tried Blogilates and it was fun! But she does a bunch of different squats and leg lifts so maybe just do a couple little cardio ones vs the full one hour video?

Yes exactly she has lots of different ones and some are very dancy and others are musclebuilding.

Don't be put off by a FEW squats tho, just avoid the squat challenges and butt/leg builder ones. (for now! Once you're not swaying any more they are great and require no equipment or high levels of fitness/skill for most of them)

Awesome ok I was worried about doing any squats so since a few aren't a big deal I'll keep doing the videos!
