    Moon phase/chinese calendar

Hey all! I just read another post regarding the chinese calendar, but didn't want to hijack it.

I understand this possibly makes me sounds crazy.
The chinese gender calendar and moon phases based on conception are correct for three of my four children.
The moon phase and gender calendar don't match up on my fertile days for a few months. I have read some posts on here de bunking the moon signs, but it seems some are more affected by the moon phase and gender conceived than others. I was just wondering if anyone has girls in the new moon-full moon phase and boys in full moon-new moon phase and then an opposite once they were swaying?

Whilst you were swaying? I'm just wondering whether the diet cancels out these theories or whether the theories can boost the diet. Whether they are true or not, I can't help but think about them.

Never worry about hijacking a thread, I actually like threads with lots of similar questions that way when people want to read about it, there are fewer threads to weed through.

we have done 123,456,789 posts and polls on Chinese Calendar, moon phase, etc and they simply aren't right. If you think about it, if the Chinese had any ancient wisdom that could help them select gender, there would not be orphanages full of unwanted baby girls in China.

What it really means when there are these things that "work for some people but then don't work for others" what that really means is "these things don't work". YOu can always find someone something seems to work for, but unless it works for everyone, then it doesn't work.

Well, they're not theories, they're superstitions. Someone found a calendar in a tomb (supposedly) and that doesn't fall into the realm of science. Nor is astrology.

What we know is that both in our results and in studies, diet does affect the gender ratio. Diet changes (even though we don't totally have it all figured out) really DO make a difference. So I would focus on the stuff that has worked for most people most of the time - diet, exercise, number of attempts, Clomid or Femara if u can get them, Jogging/biking for DH and smoking for DH, maybe OLE and soymilk for DH and then TTC when you are ready no matter what superstition says.

I wasn't swaying but if the Chinese calendar is such a powerful predictor it should be right regardless of swaying or not. It seems accurate for some people because it is literally 50/50 odds. It's not even gender odds. It's definitely not a theory, it has no scientific basis. Think about it; how can it possibly be correct for every women who conceived at a certain age in a certain month. It makes zero sense to me. I give it zero thought in my sway. It's just not something to worry about imho. Good luck with your sway!

I have never found a consistent Chinese calendar, which I feel is the biggest tell to how it couldn't be real. With DD, I found most that said boy and some girl. With this baby, I've found majority say girl and someone just posted one the other day that swore it was most accurate and it said boy.

Haha! I love that last paragraph! Ok, I'll try and pay less attention to those then. I've been doing the LE diet for a couple of months, but just kept going back to looking up theories and getting thrown off.
    Thanks ladies!

Thank you for your reply. You are right about it being 50/50, I think just when I can see it being correct for some babies, including three of mine I start thinking their must be truth to it, but there are probably as many wrong predictions as there are right when it comes to these gender superstitions.

That's what I found too, then I just stuck to checking one. They switched, most said the same thing, but there were one or two that said the opposite for all of them.
