Hello ladies!
I am new to this site and swaying as well. I have 2 boys and love them very much, but I desperately want a baby girl this time around. Planning TTC in Feb or March. I think I'm ok as the diet is concerned, supps, and ions etc. I have been dieting for 2 weeks now and taking Calcium, Mag, cran, B-complex, vit C., Folate. I need MAJOR help in deciding to do cut-off. I am thinking about 0+12, but what if I miss my chance and can't conceive that way?. Cut-off seems easier, but I don't know how to determine cut-off!! I know this question sounds really dumb, but when do you start to DTD and when do you stop BDing (cut-off). can you tell with OPKs? (I have read all the FAQs about ovulation...still need explanation )how??
with both my DS's we DTD without OPKs..just when I felt most fertile...O pains, Sex drive, EWCM (I USED to have all those LOL) every other day, after a week of abstaining.
Please help! Thank you..and good luck to all of you!!

Cut-off vs. O+12

you could always stop BDing (or BD when) you see a pos OPK - that would give you a small cut off
here on GD we don't put much stock into timing because all of the studies conflict so much and if it genuinely swayed they would agree more. Some studies even found more girls conceived on OV day! diet is one of the things that has the most evidence behind it for swaying, so it's good that you've got that sorted
unless you have regular cycles or know your body intimately having monitored CM/Cervix/temped for a few cycles it is very hard to time the traditional cut off anyway, and your chances of conceiving a pregnancy even if you do are slim
it seems that frequency is more important than timing - either FR or abstaining

I got pregnant with my girl DTD once on O day
Anyhow, this is a great thread which you should find helpful:

As Rainbow says, the important thing to do with regards to timing is something which will lower sperm count - either abstain or frequent release.
You may want to re-think some of your supplements, particularly the B Vitamins and Vitamin C as evidence suggests that more nutrients are good for conceiving a boy.Last edited by zanacal; January 5th, 2012 at 06:57 AM.
