Had a physical today and made me realize I am overdue for a dental visit. Started to think about the dental impact of swaying, especially if you need to add candy or soda to your sway to up calories on the LE diet. Can't be good - candy, simple sugars, more acidic body fluids... dentist's worse nightmare!! I am going to step up my brushing ad flossing and start rinsing my mouth out after eating candy or drinking soda. Tooth decay has been shown to increase risk of preterm delivery and low birth weight infants so don't forget your teeth!!

Good idea to step up your brushing/flossing routine, NeedAGirl! If you are unable to brush your teeth when you're out of the house, make sure to rinse well w/water b/c it'll really help! Then pop in some sugarfree gum (which is also good for the sway b/c of the aspartame).

I gave up sweeteners except splenda in coffee and I only did the diet soda in the begining but started to give it up in Nov. I did noticed that on the rare times I had normal pepsi my teeth did hurt some.... Because of this diet, hubbies health, and wanting to set an example for the kids we have decided to give up sweets and save them for special times.
If you are concerned about tooth health Xylitol is best but I believe it sways blue.2007
