    Atomic...question?

My husband has been having lower abdominal pain for about a month and the doc said he thinks he has chronic prostitus. He said the pain gets a little worse after he ejaculates. My question is, will this effect us getting preggo? I'm very worried about it thanks

I would have him see a urologist ASAP. He "thinks" that's what it is???

It could be a serious problem and he needs to be checked out.

I agree. I have seen one too many general practitioners be vaguely reassuring about an issue that needed to be treated, leading to a delay in a necessary diagnosis. I would seek a second opinion from a specialist.

It absolutely can affect your odds of conception and may even make it more likely you will conceive a girl, because his sperm count may not be very good if he's suffering from prostatitis.

My doc is sending him for bloodwork. He's a good doctor and is looking into it. I'm in Canada and to see a specialist takes awhile usually. His pain is pretty mild most of the time.

Prostate issues, tumors, a number of things! With ANY kind of pain in that region, it's not normal and there is a cause. You just need a proper doctor to find it.
