Losing weight & boy sway
I conceived both my daughters while being overweight (conceived DD1 at 180lbs, & DD2 at 200lbs.) Since giving birth 18 months ago i've packed on 20 more pounds. Would trying to lose weight ruin my boy sway?
We planned on TTC sometime around July.
Is starting something like the atkins diet a bad idea?

When you have that much to lose, I think that it is best to get some of it off before TTC. Both very thin and very heavy gals tend to have more girls (and it's better for a healthy pg anyway) so yes, this is one of the situations that I would recommend losing a bit of weight.
Does Atkins work for you?? (it made me really kind of sick, so I am always hesitant to recommend it). If it does, I'd give it a try but would not go into ketosis as that may be harmful if you got pg while in ketosis. I would try for one of the maintenance levels where people are eating more vegetables and not the induction phase.
one of the best things you can do is exercising. I would have you do 45 min. of cardio 4 days a week and weight training 4 days a week - one day you will have to do both and that is the day to focus on arms instead because your legs may be tired.

I lost weight prior to all my pregnancies 2 girl and 2 boy only difference was during girl pregnancies I was still dieting but with the boys I was at my goal weight for 1-2 months and even put back some weight month prior to conceiving not much, 2-5 lbs.

^^^Good point, I had similar experiences with a couple of mine where I"d lost weight and then gained back only about 3 lbs before getting my boys. I gained 3 lbs wtih 3 of the 4 and then held steady with one. 2 of the 4 (including the one I held steady) I had recently lost weight.

Hello, Atomic hopefully you will see this! It has definitely been a while. I am not TTC, my cycles have been MIA for over a year, I'm quite certain. I have not been charting but haven't had it....
Not sure where to ask not TTC
