CBE OPK Confusion
Hello,
Sorry if this is long winded, but I am TTC and am using the CBE 4 day smiley OPKs. I used them while TTC my DD in 2013 and was pretty consistent. Two days flashy smile then peak, but I've now noticed I've changed from a 28 day cycle to 26 day cycle. This current cycle I have been using them and I received a flashy smile when I woke up on CD 10 and then tested same day when I got home from work and received a "peak" solid smiley. We DTD last night, but then for giggles I tested again (I had another OPK stick to use) this morning and it was flashy smiley again...while my other stick was still displaying the peak smile (displays for two days).
Do you think I received a peak in error? I should add...after getting my peak last night I tested again an hour later and it was negative.
Just confused and wondering if anyone else had confusions while using them.

Bulldogluv, I would assume the first peak was accurate. The CB Advanced monitors learn your cycle. Testing with the other monitor will restart because it hasn't been following along like the other one has. I hope that makes sense. Lol! I would stay with your attempt and assume that you ovulated. Do you temp? That would help confirm it.
I also use the CB Advanced monitor. I have never had a problem with it. I personally get 6-8 high days before my peak. I confirmed ovulation with temps last cycle.

Yes that is not unusual to have confuiont whne doing them. THe reason is because it uses changes in your hormones to measure what is going on and not just LEVELS of hormones, so it can get tricked depending on when you test because it may not register the same types of rise in hormones.
Jeesh this is a bit hard to explain, let me try again.
Normal OPK tests measure LEVELS of hormone and when they're positive is when the level reaches a certain concentration.
The tests with flashies and smileys measure hormones too but they are looking for CHANGES in your hormones, the flashy is when your levels are high but not sky high and the solid is when they are sky high in comparison to when they were flashy. So if you test at a different time, you can get a different result because the test is tricked into thinking your levels are high when they are really sky high! Please let me know if that made any sense at all!!!
