Wondering about BD and O
Hi all, yesterday I had a +OPK and DTD after 8 days abstaining. I would prefer to DTD tonight and tomorrow night as well, just to increase my chances of a BFP, or would that be wrong for my girl sway? DH is 39, I am 33. Thanks!

I wouldn't do it personally. When you abstain you are then only supposed to DTD one time. When I got my BFP in August it was from an 11 day abstain and we DTD only one time 2 days before O (1.5 days before a positive OPK). We also used Rephresh 20 min before DTD (we won't know gender till next Saturday). If i got preggo with that much against me then you have a good chance since you DTD when you got a pos OPK. I wouldn't add more attempts (that's how I got my boys). Of course, this is only my opinion. You have to choose what's right for you guys! My fingers are crossed for you!!!

Thank you Jark22. I really appreciate it! And it's good to know it worked!
I'm really doubting what to do, because my DH doesn't want to TTC anymore after turning 40, so we have just a few months left.
Could it help If DH did a release and dump before doing another BD this evening, if I even could convince him to do that? I'm probably just pushing my luck that way, I guess ;-)2007 2009 2011, and finally arrived 2013

if you do them very close together then guys won't have a chance to renew. or many people do a dump one and then bd and use the 2nd batch. also if you are doing anti. and j&d that is going to lower some.

Abstaining isn't recommended for guys over 35 - it gets risky regarding damaged sperm and the risk of birth defects. So a FR strategy is a much better idea.
You still have time to do a Compressed FR or Hurry Up FR. Here's all the info on that:

atsaukina1, thank you. Would 24 hours be too large a gap between the two attempts? I am using antihistamine (cetirizine), but I wasn't sure I could take it after O. I might ask DH to release and dump and a BD after that.
Laceprincess, thank you too. I think I missed that thread. Very good to read, but very confusing. I didn't know abstaining would be a bad idea for DH in our case.2007 2009 2011, and finally arrived 2013

laceprincess- thanks for bringing that up I didn't even think of that. my dh is 35 and that is why were chose fr but ended up ditching that at 10 days because I gave him a day break thinking O would come at 20+ days like month before and of course it came early lol.
I think earlier than 24 hours is recommended but if he is older he might not renew his so fast. every man is different. i thikn your safest bet is compressed do a dump batch if he is up for it.

Well... DH is feeling ill and lying down on the sofa...
Not sure there will be any action this evening
DH does believe he has supersperm , because DS1 en DS2 where conceived in the first month TTC and DS3 in de second month of TTC. Ah well, I guess most men think like that2007 2009 2011, and finally arrived 2013

Or maybe you have super eggs!
Regarding the recovery thing, it's very individual. Most are ok, especially if younger, after 24 hours. When older it might take 48 hours. Really depends on the guy.Me (38) and DH (38)

LOL: super eggs, that would be great
Well, since I have no idea what his recovery time might be I think we will just have to chance it.
Or I will just pretend to forget, so there wouldn't be any harm done to the sway...
When do you reckon that we could BD again, just for the fun of it, without affecting the sway??2007 2009 2011, and finally arrived 2013
