    Cooking spray/oils

I know with girl diet, oils would be bad because of the high fat, right? Is cooking spray okay? I usually put that on pasta. Which oils are better for us on girl diet? Thanks!

Thank you swish! I agree about the corn oil but unsalted butter (in moderation) and low sodium margarine if you can find it, are also options.

Cooking oil is ok if you use small amounts, as long as it has no sodium.

    Good luck Mindy!

Well, the reason why it has 0% of things is because the "serving size" is a very small amount and the government allows them to round it down to nothing. The serving size for Pam is 1/3 of a second of spraying it. If you spray on a crapload of the stuff (which some people do because they think it has no calories and no fat, but it does!!) you will still get a lot of fat and calories. That's what I would watch for when spraying it on pasta, that you might use more than the serving size and end up getting calories and fat you have no idea you're even eating.

Just be sure to use small amounts, the barest minimum you need for cooking, and that's it. The serving size of Pam, is to spray it for 1/3 of a second, and if you spray it longer, you will be getting fat, calories, and sodium http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/...nd-oils/9751/2

OMG, that is crazy. I probably use more than I should, so I will be sure and cut back. Thanks so much!
