I forgot about gum!! I chewed a LOT of gum when I was trying to loose weight after I had my first son! I already like diet coke, but I don't drink a lot of it.

I tend to eat bigger meals and not snack that much anyway (when I'm hungry I eat an actual meal LOL), so it was easy for me. I also did coffee/pop between meals and chewed gum.

If you need to, bump up to 4 meals a day, you can eat smaller meals more often as long as you're going most of the cday without food coming in. So instead of eating 6 meals/snacks starting at 6 am and going to 9:30 pm, you have 3-4 meals starting at 11 am and going till 7 pm. Many people find tht they do ok eating nothing, but once they start eating, it's hard to stop.

I'm not snacking for hunger as much as boredom. The baby demands a lot of attention and wants to be held most of the time so I can't do a lot of other things and its been too cold to do much outside... I'm good if I'm at work, but at home I'm screwed! So... replace chips and easy to snack foods with gum. Hard thing is I also buy fresh fruits and veggies for DS to snack on and I loooove fresh fruits and veggies!

I didn't realise how much I snacked until I tried to stop! I honestly think it is a habit more than being actually hungry. It's killing me though because I have a ton of delicious snacky foods like mini sausage rolls, crisps, biscuits, fruit, veg, etc in the house for my toddler and husband!

I find the evenings are the worst, I can keep busy in the day and just not touch anything but in the evening when I'm sat down ALL I can think about is the fridge contents lol

I have noticed I eat from boredom sometimes too. If there is anythign super engaging like a video game (Pokemon and Angry Birds are fun) that may help - altho may be bad for testosterone levels LOL (!@@#$&^%&^*(**( pigs stealing my eggs)

If you have trouble wanting to eat later in the evening, plan for a pre-bedtime meal. I had to do that because I can't go to sleep on an empty stomach.

Are extra strong mints going to do much harm? I eat them in the evenings instead of a more inappropriate snack, that and ice lollys.

As a random side, it's only 10 weeks till we start ttc now and I'm starting to get really anxious!
