    Ovulation Predictor kits

    Hi all

I really want to be able to monitor the 5 days before I ovualte with something like the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor BUT I am currently on BCP and skip the white ones so I have zero idea of when or how long my cycles are.

Im planning to come off BCP in August and start trying but want to know if i buy OPK, can I just start testing straight away?

    Thanks!

I would get some cheapies and then use the Clearblue as confirmation. The Clearblues are too expensive to be used when you don't know when you will ovulate.

Test with IC's once a day after lunch, till they start getting darker and then you may want to test after lunch and after dinner. If you think it's pos. you can retest with Clearblue smiley to be sure.

When I got off BC, I waited a full cycle before trying the CBFM. I got a two month supply for $40 on amazon and it was worth every penny. The first month using it, I wasn't TTC, but the second month I was. Of course my cycle was making it really hard to determine O, I think because of supps. The CBFM gave me a flashy smiley face (potential fertility) for five days before a solid smiley (peak fertility). The package said it would give two days of potential fertility before the peak day, but clearly I was giving the monitor some weird signals. We DTD on peak with Zyrtec, sylk, Rephresh and compressed frequent release and I got pg the first month.
I was temping, charting, and even using an additional digital fertility monitor at the same time, because I knew my cycles were difficult to predict coming off BC. After two months on supps and diet that I'm sure affected my hormones, I didn't even get a temp raise after O and I still got preggers! If I were to do it over, I would ONLY the Clear Blue monitor and not stress about tracking my cycle. Good luck!
