I think it could but it doesn't matter if it sways blue, pink, or plaid, we MUST take folic. Plus, if we're eating less and losing weight and probably eating less fortified grain products, taking extra is just a wise idea. The macronutrients like protein and fat are much more important than any one nutrient is anyway.
