* When to start testing OPK? *
As this is my first cycle of trying and I'm on CD3 when should I start using my ovulation sticks to test when I get a +OPK?
Thank you! xxx

I'm no expert but I started at CD7. I used the maybe baby app on my iphone and it said I should ovulate on CD14. It was exactly right! Good luck!

I have longer cycles and I start on day 10 just to save money lol. Fir regular cycles I think they advise to start day 8 or 9

I have been testing since CD9 and still doing so in day 16! I guess I must ovulate quite late in my cycle!
It's also my first attempt so the novelty of POAS hasn't worn out yet but I guess if I need to do a few attempts then I will have to watch the cost of the sticks and be more economical ( testing once instead if 3 for example lol )

I'd start on CD7 in case you O early and so you can see a nice progression as your surge darkens. You could even start now if you want; it's interesting to observe the fluctuations over the course of your cyclr, IMO.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

If you're just starting out with OPK it can help to start before you think you'll get one. I usually have people start CD 10 for CD 14 ovulation, but if you ever O on CD 12 you may want to start CD9 (doubful you'd ever get a pos on CD 8 regardless of cycle lenthg)
