FR confusion?
I get the 1 attempt in fertile window, but what about DH "helping himself"? Is this good, or bad for pink? It seems to me that FR would up his T levels (does that matter?). But I read some random study that said groups in Africa that practice polygamy have more girls, an they atteibutes this to the fact that the man is having frequent sex with multiple wives. (Seems like it's creating a frequent release, 1 attempt situation). I can't remember where I saw this, (probably because I thought the research was faulty for some reason or other), but it's on my mind now. Curious to see what some of you think.

We believe it's good for pink, HOWEVER it has proven very difficult for husbands in a variety of Martha-inducing ways and also seems to really lower odds of conception considerably. ANd the results have not been what I would want to see to justify the trouble it causes. I suspect it's one of those types of things where if one were doing nothing else to sway, across the population it may sway a little bit, but it just gets swallowed up in an otherwise thorough sway.
I remember seeing that study too ages ago but did not print it out because I was out of ink and now can't find it again. :/ So if you come across it again, would love a link.
RE testosterone, that's just a theory that has not been proven in any conclusive way. We honestly do not know if T is what is swaying or if it's because (as I tend to believe) normally high T levels sway because they lead to better sperm quality. Guys who are on steroids have T thru the roof but seem to have more daughters, and Clomid also raises T but leads to more girls conceived, so it does not appear to me to be as simple as T = boys.!!! Interesting. So, would you reccomend DH only release during the 1 attempt? We currently have a minimum, once a week, standing date-night. DH normally doesn't release outside of that anyways, so it woildnt be a problem to limit it to only then.

I did FR with my hubby for our last attempt. We DTD 30 some odd days in a row and it really took a toll on our relationship. And we got a boy. I just don't think FR or abstaining is worth it, although if we try again we may do a compressed FR and one attempt. (DH "helping" himself in the late afternoon and then attempt in the evening)

I do not recommend anyone do FR for 30 days.
I agree that I do not think either FR or abstain is worth it. It was something we had to try because at first glance it seemed like frequency patterns might be strong swayers, but I really really think we've seen enough to call it quits on the frequency patterns and move onto the emphasis on one attempt instead.
PS - that is not compressed FR, it's more of a hurry up FR and if you do hurry up FR, it's best to have the two releases as close as is possible. I do not recommend anyone use one release, then another release many hours later as a sway tactic.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
