Please HELP ASAP!

So I am on day 24 of my cycle and finally this evening had a feeling ovulation may happen soon since I felt some heavy CM. But I was out at a late dinner with friends so just tested shortly after getting home and sure enough positive OPK test! My question I guess, is when do you think is okay for an attempt? My DH is literally already sleeping exhausted from work day and kids as am I from work then late celebration dinner with the gals. I asked if he'd be okay if I woke him in a few hrs for attempt. He said he would but I'm afraid I won't wake up. Otherwise we won't have an attempt till basically 24 hrs from now tomorrow night after work and kids are in bed. Do you think waiting will put a damper on a pink sway? Also what are chances I'd miss this egg if I wait? My last cycle was 39 days long due to sway diet/ breastfeeding. And I am discouraged I'm O-ing almost 25 days into this cycle. Feel like long cycles and unpredictable O make conceiving tricky and the waiting in between hard!

Set your alarm Emilie for tonight or set your alarm for am before kids wake up or third option dtd tomorrow night depending on when you ovulate you will still have a good shot, I ovulate at least 48 hrs after a pos opk but someone ovulate 8 hrs after.
It won't effect your chances of pink if you stick to one attempt.

I would think you would be ok even if you don't manage it until tomorrow evening. The average is 24-36 hrs after a positive. Obviously, if you can do it sooner, that's great, but try not to stress over it.

Thanks gals. I did wake up in the middle of the night but it was with a crying child. Was too tired after that incident. So tonight it will have to be. I am taking kids out to run around and hopefully tire them out so I can get them to bed sooner! I hope it works out and I didn't miss my chance. I suppose we shall see. . .

sorry only just now saw this, I would have had you just attempt when it was possible and KFX.

If you have long and unpredictable cycles, I"d start doing every 4 day method instead, that way you will always be in with an attempt no matter when you O.
