Antidepressants
Hi ladies, both DH and I are on antidepressants and want to conceive a girl.. Does anyone know if these will mess up my sway? If you or DH were on antidepressants what gender did you conceive?

It's believed they sway pink for both.
Do be aware though that they can really cut odds of conception when taken by DH and so you need to use the other sway tactics that also cut odds of cocneption for him, sparingly. And for you, you will need to come off them when pregnant so have a plan in place with your doctor about when and how to come off of them.

SSRIs are frequently okayed by drs gor pregnancy if your mental health issues are serious. What meds exactly are you on?
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

I am on a low dose of Effexor XR and he is on Citalopram. I had originally planned on having DH take licorice root but after reading your advice atomic I'm thinking that might not be a good idea!

Make sure to taper very slowly with Effexor. What dose are you on?
I'd not have DH take LR.

This is something where I would be very leery about staying on just because of a sway. Effexor XR takes takes a long time to go off of it so you don't have withdrawal effects. Be very careful with all anti depressants and pregnancy!

I almost always will skip LR with Citalopram for DH unless people insist

I have been on antidepressants for about 10 years now and have had 3 healthy pregnancies and healthy babies as well. My doctor and obstetrician said my particular med was safe to take during pregnancy. It might well depend on what type of med I guess. In regards to swaying, I've had 2 boys and 1 girl whilst taking the same med so go figure....lol! The ONLY thing that was different when we girl is that DH was cycling to and from work 5 days a week. He wasn't doing that when we conceived our boys. Maybe if you can get your DH to do some regular cycling as well it might help with your pink sway and with his depression/anxiety as well?
