Over-active thyroid - TTC Girl
Hi
I was just wondering if an over active thyroid (hyper thyroid) would have any effect on my chances of TTC a girl? I take thyroxin for this so should be fairly stable now but still just wondering if it matters?
Thanks!

We don't have enough data to know for sure but what I do know is lots of people with that exact situation have swayed successfully! Hi and welcome, by the way!

Thank you! I'm so worried that it's going to ruin my sway but not quite sure what I could even do about it?!
This site is amazing by the way, so much great info x

Yes it's one of those things that no matter what, we'd have to work around it!
I would have you start off at higher cal intake than you think you'll need and then see how it goes. If weight flies off then it's better to start higher than you think, rather than a starvation diet and having to add food back in to prevent excessive weight loss.
1800-2000 cals a day for you, 50-60 g fat and protein. See how it goes at that level.

Thanks so much for the advice! I'm just starting with le diet & still trying to work out what will work best! My thyroid problem is the one where you put on weight rather than lose it so hopefully the weight loss won't be too rapid & I can stick to Le for longer x

Just to encourage you, I got 2 boys while hypothyroid (low thyroid) and then I got on meds and I was in the upper ranges of T3 and T4 when I got my girl! I don't think hyperthyroid will ruin your sway at all!

HERBS forgive me if I'm wrong but it sounds to me like you might be under active, not over?
I've been hyperactive in the past and have the antibodies. mines the one where you lose too much weight and the medication for overactive is normally Carbimazole. I thought thyroxine was what they give you for under active? x

Sorry yes I'm under active! Not sure how I managed to write overactive in the first post! Oh dear I have antibodies too, but definitely for under, the one where you put weight on! Although I haven't actually put any on at all with it, im sure that will change in the future!
Is the advice still the same for under or does it sway? Thanks for spotting my mistake by the way ☺
