Femara for swaying girl
Ladies who here is taking Femara for sway purposes only and what have you based this decision on? Femara is supposed to be much better for swaying than clomid so I'm curious as to why lots of ladies haven't switched to it. Maybe they have and I haven't looked in the right spot. Just looking for some Femara buddies

Swaying Advice Coach
It was a couple percentage points better for swaying in one study. It is much better than Clomid in lots of other ways though (like lining, EWCM, odds of twinning, etc) so my love affair with Femara is for those reasons, not necessarily because it's a hugely better sway.
Femara is not strictly approved for use as a fertility medication. It's a cancer drug meant to block estrogen in women who have certain types of cancers that grow in the presence of estrogen. It was also linked to issues with birth defects and miscarriage when taken DURING pregnancy (of course, we don't take it during pregnancy, we take it before, and it leaves the body very quickly anyway - even quicker than Clomid). So these things have skeeved many doctors off prescribing it, since they have to go "off label" and then there's a birth defect correlation (but remember, please no one panic, this was in women taking it as a cancer treatment during pregnancy and not for just 5 days before they even ovulated!!!)
All this results in many people not being able to get Femara because doctors won't prescribe it, and I think that is why most people end up doing Clomid instead.
I love Femara.

Thanks atomic. You are a woman with a mountain of knowledge. I have decided to go with Femara for the reasons you stated above anyway. I was at the pharmacy today ( but forgot my prescription in the car ) anyway I asked if he had Femara in stock and he said they have no problem with that but clomid hasn't been in stock for months and it's impossible to get hold of it here in Australia. Glad I'm don't need to stress over that. And also glad my Ob gave me the option of Femara even though he had no idea about swaying obviously.

I get a 4 day migraine on femara. I've only taken it one cycle and wanted to die. I spent all 4 days in bed (after day 1 lol). Still, I plan to take it next cycle. Want as much help as I can get!

I took Femara for 6 months (purely for swaying purpises) but didn't conceive until 2 cycles after I'd finished taking Femara. I have just had a baby girl. I was doing other stuff to sway girl too e.g LE, one attempt, exercise, alcohol. Not sure if Femara helped or hindered my sway but I just thought I'd post in case it's useful info to anyone. xxx

Wow that's really interesting that you didn't fall pregant while taking it. Out of curiosity what made you chose Femara over clomid ?
Congrats on your baby by the way! You must be ecstatic

Aw yeah so happy, I still can't quite believe it! If there's anything I can do to help anyone else with their sway I'd be more than happy to do so )
I choose Femara as supposedly less chance of multiples, fewer side effects and possibly slightly pinker.
Good luck with your sway!
