How much does the one attempt actually sway?
So we have been ttc pink for a long time now. A lot of our failed months have been from either my short LP which I stupidly brought on myself from losing too much weight, or from mis-timing the one attempt in fertile window. This month we BDed on Thursday after a Peak reading on clear blue. However I still have loads of EWCM and feel like I have not yet ovulated. I always have a high libido around ovulation and it quickly disappears straight after ovulation! So my question is, if we BD tonight (Saturday, 2 days after last Bd), is this a real compromise to the girl sway? I am so over ttc and really want to be preg. I feel like I won't get preg from Thursday's attempt if I still haven't ovulated (Saturday afternoon currently). I think I have a really long Lh surge and I've been timing attempt too early based on this... Thoughts, anyone??

Thanks XX, that's really helpful. I think we will leave it. I'm not confident my diet has been optimum lately and I don't want to compromise things. I guess I'm just so fed up each month that part of me is soooo tempted to have another attempt as I want to be preg! I think next month we will have the attempt the day AFTER the peak reading. I've had a couple of months with a really long surge and it's v annoying!!

If I were to ov tonight, (Saturday), there might be some left from thurs night's attempt anyway, do you think?

I think as long as you are doing the diet good I would do every 4 days to increase your chances. Ds3 was a one attempt and pull out baby. I was only on the diet a couple of weeks when I got pregnant with him. So I think diet is one of the most important parts.

At some point the one attempt has to go. I feel like we are well beyond that point for you, Honeybee.
I want you in with another attempt this month.

Part of me completely agrees... And then this stupid part of me is like "well I'll do better on the diet if I have another month", but it gets so hard to be good every single day on the diet after 10 months! So in a way I think I just need to conceive now!! I've been moderately good, as in, most days I've stuck to the limits and always skipped breakfast (except whilst camping!!) and only eaten twice, exercised, caffeine and alcohol. So maybe we will go for another attempt tonight. If I ov tonight then tonight's attempt probably won't do anything anyway. Thanks everyone. Will keep you posted...

You CAN"T be good on diet every day for 10 months and the level of white-knuckled commitment that would take would simply have to sway blue.
We know because we have the stats, that people on diet longer than 12 weeks have better results. Virtually all of those people relaxed on diet because you just can't go on that long NOT relaxing on diet (and just like you did, most of them started off TOO strict, too controlled). The people who tried being super strict for 2-4 weeks and then TTC, it didn't work. So I feel we have all but proved the idea that longer on a relaxed diet is greater than a stricter diet.
