Pickles/vinegar/acidic foods for le diet??
Hi ladies,
I was wondering if I'm ok to eat pickled stuff on le for girl sway? Like pickled onions, gherkins etc? I thought it might be ok because there isn't a lot of fat/sugar (if any!) & it's very vinegary/acidic? But I'm not sure if it's as straight forward as that?
Thanks! x

I think that pickles are fine on LE Diet. I know the "old school" sway gurus have ACV (apple cider vinegar in supplement quantities) down as swaying blue because somehow despite its acidity, it supposedly "makes you alkaline" BUT a lot of better quality scientific data indicates that ACV lowers blood sugar and I no longer deem it safe enough for blue sways and have everyone do lemon water instead.
Some people will want to avoid or limit onions as supposedly they can raise testosterone. (I doubt it but it's easy enough to skip them)

Thanks so much for the advice! Is salted popcorn ok to snack on? I've been doing le diet since July now & am starting to falter a bit with snacks & things, hoping I'm not doing too much damage!

If you're having trouble with snacking, what I would do is instead of trying to stick to something that isn't working for you, simply add in another meal. Going to 3 or 4 or yes, even 5 meals a day (obviously this is absolutely only last resort!), is still VERY different than munching every 15 minutes all day long!! IT is much better to make compromises you CAN stick with, than to try to stick to something you can't, and end up dropping everything.
Salted popcorn is ok, but it's best to have it with a meal.

Thanks Atomic! I haven't increased the amount of meals but have started having slightly larger meals to try & fill me up a bit more. Can I ask is the aim to go as long as possible between eating to keep blood sugar down for longer? Hope I'm doing ok, first attempt is coming up in the next few weeks!

IT's a balance though, because this is not a starvation diet, it's a healthy pre-pregnancy diet, and you ahve to get a certain amount of nutrients in your diet in order to get and stay pregnant. Additionally, if you try to eat too little and go too long between meals, you're going to be starving and miserable and we don't want that either.
If you are going overnight and pushing breakfast back a bit, and then not eating every 15 min. all day long (sticking to 3 meals) then you are doing all you need to do. There are no extra credit points for being cranky and hungry all day long!!
