How long to abstain before one-attempt for pink sway?

Our first attempt is going to be the first week of February. We're going to try the one attempt during the fertile window. How long before that attempt should DH abstain? (is there a window of abstaining that becomes boy friendly? - like 4 days is good for girls but 5,6, 7 days favors boy and then 8+ favors girl again?)

We'd love to try abstain/one attempt/longer cut-off - maybe 4 day cutoff - just because we're totally fine with not getting pregnant the first month (probably better if we don't since my due date would be the exact same as it was when I was pregnant with my daughter and we'd risk them having the same birthday, but at the same time I hate to let another month pass)

I do just want to be sure that you're swaying pink, right?

No, that idea of the longer cutoffs swaying blue has been debunked. Actually timing as a whole has been debunked. about 50-50 boys and girls are conceived on every day of the cycle.

Anyone who ever tells you that they got pregnant with cutoffs of 6-8 days ever are either dirty rotten fibbers or else are mistaken about when they ovulated.

It's totally fine to use a cutoff if you'd like. I prefer you guys do 2-3 day cutoff to up odds of conception, but if you're ok with a pretty slim shot of conceiving, it's up to you of course. I would probably not do any pH stuff, antihistamine, etc and I would also probably not abstain either (would have DH do regular release every 2-4 days instead) to boost odds of conception, but of course again, if you're ok getting BFN you may not want to.

Hi There! Yes, we are trying for a girl.

I'm 99% fine with getting a BFN the first month (although I'd also be thrilled if it were a BFP)

I've monitored CM for about 4 months now. It's typically in the 4-4.5 range, up to 4.5-5 around O. I was previously taking cranberry before reading about the nutritional value aspect, but between that and it dropping my ph under 4, I stopped taking it.

I also tried Zyrtec but it didn't seem to dry me up at all (And I seem to have a lot of EWCM) I was hoping it would work because Sudafed makes me wired and I can't sleep. With my pH already on the lower end, do you have any other suggestions for helping to dry up/get rid of CM? I've never done a douche and was a little hesitant because I didn't want something that would cause my body to react and raise my pH. I can always take the Sudafed for a day or two. Can I mix that with Benadryl or Zyrtec?

If you want a long cutoff and your pH is that low even around O, you NEED that EWCM to get pregnant. I would strongly advise against anyone taking a drying agent with even a 3 day cutoff, let alone 4!!

In our results antihistamines did not work and tons of us got CM opposites. I got a boy with zero CM (I was testing 2-3 times a day and my pH never moved til I was already pregnant) and a girl with visible CM.

Do not take Sudafed. It's been linked to strokes in younger women and it is not worth the risk.

I never recommend douching and would never do so with a 4 day cutoff (or even 3). I do have the directions on here for those who really feel the need, but we've been getting good results without them.
