Very little CM while swaying pink?

I got off the pill 3 months ago, but this was our first cycle TTC. The previous 2 cycles I noticed that I had a lot of CM, including EWCM, around ovulation and before/after O. This month, for whatever reason, I had close to no CM at all. Some creamy here and there, but not like the previous months. I did add in more acidic drinks/foods (diet cokes, wine, etc.) and took away some things that I eat that sway blue (tomatoes, meat, etc.). I also decreased my exercise dramatically because I work out a lot normally and wanted to decrease muscle. Could this have contributed to the decrease in CM? I'm just trying to figure out why I didn't get pregnant this cycle, since BD timing looked look and I was able to conceive both of my DD's on first month try. I know I'm older now, which is definitely a factor, but trying to see what else I might be able to change if I can convince DH to try one more month... Still no AF, but getting BFN's and don't think I have a shot this month, unfortunately. Would appreciate any advice!

Some months just aren't THE month.

It is possible to get pregnant with no visible CM.

It takes fully fertile people doing nothing to sway an average of 3-6 months to get pregnant. Getting pregnant first time out 2x is actually very good luck and not something that you can expect to happen all the time.
