Raspberry Leaf Tea
Hi,
I read that oe of you drink or have drunk RLT while being on the diet. What is the benefit of it while TTC? I have drunk it in the last few weeks of my first pregnancy to prepare my body for labour, but didn't know there were other uses.
How often do you drink it and when as I remember it being recommended only very late in pregnancy?
I am taking Vitex and drinking peppermint tea. Will the RLT be okay too?
Thanks.

It may help with building a good uterine lining.
personally, I do not recommend it because it may raise estrogen. Some people are drinking it anyway and I fully support that, but I don't think everyone needs to drink it to be sure and I feel like it's a big unknown.
If you do decide to drink it, it can cause uterine cramping which is why you should only drink it until you get a BFP and then wean off of it. I started drinking it in the first tri with DS 3 and really had very strong cramping.
Works wonders in late pg and I heartily recommend it for all mamas 38 weeks + as long as you don't have any issues with placenta previa, abruption, premature labor, incompetent cervix, or an irritable uterus. You can start it as early at 36 weeks but of course the baby is less viable at that point and if you were to go into labor, it would be much riskier than waiting until 38 weeks.!!! Questions?? it can thicken the uterine lining which can help make implantation easier and it also lowers pH and blood glucose, and regulates hormones like peppermint tea does
I'm certain it didn't raise my oestrogen - I had virtually no EWCM last cycle!Last edited by rainbowflower; February 11th, 2012 at 10:55 AM.

If it thickens the uterine lining, it DOES increase estrogen. Estrogen is what grows the uterine lining. It contains precursors to estrogen that your body can then turn into estrogen.
I don't think it will ruin anyone's sway, it's just that I simply don't advise everyone to take it.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

well, along with progesterone it does... but peppermint tea is thought to increase oestrogen too (whilst also lowering testosterone)

I could honestly live without pep tea too! I have witnessed people conceive baby girls drinking pep tea tho so I am more likely to give it an ok. I haven't seen many people at all drink RLT and get girls (because it wasn't advised on IG, where most of my experience comes from) so I don't have as good of a feeling about it. Of course we are about to see some people get girls while drinking it !!
I certainly don't think rasp. leaf is a magic boy bullet, just that in the here and now I don't have a solid feeling about it and until I have a solid feeling about things, I don't advise them for everyone.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
