    Should I continue with vitex?

Hi, I have noticed a few threads on vitex lately and I was hoping someone could shed some light on my experience with it and whether to continue.

The only things I have incorporated into my girl sway now are the LE diet and baby aspirin. I dropped cranberry and calcium/magnesium a few months back. I'm not sure why but I decided to start taking vitex last cycle....I thought maybe I wasn't doing enough for my sway and had read it can sway girl sometimes....maybe....lol!

So, my cycles have always been a regular 28 days and ovulation on day 13-14 and I ALWAYS have AF arrive 14 days after I ovulate.

I took vitex this last cycle from AF to O. I ovulated on CD10 and AF arrived 9 days later. Ovulation occured 4 days early, my LP shortened by 5 days and my entire cycle was only 20 days instead of 28!

Just wondering if this happened to anyone else taking it and if so, did you continue with it? I'm just not sure whether to continue with it and see if my LP returns to normal.

    Looking forward to any insight!

Vitex does this a lot. It can change a cycle, even if you take it all the way through a cycle. You may want to try it for a while longer to see if your body will get used to the hormonal changes, but it may not be for you.

I remember the one cycle I stopped it at ovulation, it made my cycle very short. Also, the first 2 cycles I started it (taking it the whole cycle for PCOS), it made my cycle 24-25 days before getting back to a more normal 28 or 29 days.

I also noticed that my LP was getting shorter - Not sure if it may have had to do more with low overall hormones due to diet and weight loss or the vitex. Ended up adding progesterone cream O-AF last cycle and this cycle was back to clockwork! I am currently 7dpo and my temps look good, etc. I am not recommending you do progesterone but that was what I needed. (if you do take it, remember you have to be really faithful with it and not miss a dose until your second trimester)
