Short LP phase help!!
So i've just realised that I may have short luteal phase. Im on 10 days dpo today and have wiped brown each time i pee since 9dpo.
I have many questions
- do you count those spotting days? its not even enough to touch the panty liner, just a brown dot here and there each wipe? Is LP the day from O to the first real day (not spotting day) of AF?
- has anyone conceived with a short lp?
- I managed to conceive last sept which looks like my lp was short too? BUT lost the baby at 7.5 weeks.
I am freaking out now that i have something wrong with my LP phase.
Here is my current chart for reference along with september
when i did conceive

can anyone please shed some light for me and stop me freaking out ;(

My LP was 7 days when I conceived DS3 in April. I ended up trying lunaception the month that I got pregnant. I am the last person on earth that would believe in that stuff but I was going to see a fertility specialist at the end of the month and figured it was the only natural thing I could try (couldn't try any supps as I needed a clear slate for the doctor)
You can search and find a few threads about it on here - I wrote my story in one of the threads (sorry.. can't find it now as kids are up!)

I'm not convinced your LP is short. I still think FF may have your crosshairs wrong.
1)the rule of thumb is if it's bright red flow, it's CD 1, and if not, it doesn't count.
2)yes all the time!!! tons of people. LP of 10 days is not ideal but people get pg that way.
3)you can't tell if your LP was short the month you conceived, because you got pg that month and it changes stuff.
that having been said, I think the irregularity of your temps may indicate that something was possibly not quite right from teh get go (and please don't read too much into this, there are some charts that are seesaw like that and are totally healthy pregnancies, it's just that in retrospect I do wonder that.)!!! 10 days isn't massively low so even if something is slightly out of kilter it's not something massive I wouldn't think. I had a 7 day LP on average after ds2 and managed to get prescribed crinone (progesterone) to lengthen it. Since doing ht I have found out my thyroid was slightly off probably causing my short LP. Easily fixed.

Atomic, i think my AF is today as i feel its more than spotting, but still light and weird dark brown blood. Thats still CD 1 yeah?
Seems my lp is less that 10 days though if i started spotting on cd9 doesn't that mean that it started breaking down then meaning not enough time to keep the implantation?
FF is now predicting 6 days in feb between O and my AF so thinking that is not gooD?!
I figured since i started spotting on cd9 last time i got pg, that was my lp..?
Do you think i should go see a dr? or start taking b6? Does that sway girl?
Do you think my diet has something to do with it?
So many questions but just worried now….

Tehcnically it is supposed to be first day of bright red flow, but that's just a general guideline. I feel like if you feel it's AF, then it is, if that makes any sense.
I'm sure you're sick of me saying this LOL but I think FF has your crosshairs wrong and you did not have a short LP this month at all. Look when you got your surge, that is a 13 day long LP and maybe even 14 if you ovulated sooner after you got your pos OPK. Your chart from last month doesn't give us much info because tht was after the loss and things can be weird after a loss.
FF cannot predict future cycles. It can't even tell what is going on in the month. Your LP changes all the time without you doing anything whatsoever. You cannot tell because of spotting in the month you got pregnant, what your LP woudl have been in that month or in any other month.
B6 sways boy and I would not have you take it till we are sure you even have an issue.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

thanks Atomic. I still dony quite understand if I got a positive clear blue test on the 13th and the 14th of this month, then started spotting on the 24th.. doesnt that mean a short LP since there was 10 or less days in between?
i will hold off on b6 and see how i go next month.
Strange that FF cant predict O as i believe thats what its trying to do..
I was looking at my chart from earlier last year and seems that it was short (10days) too - was comparing to Aug 04.
im not sick of hearing you say anything sorry if i am not quite understanding all of this, am really trying!

FF doesn't predict O, it tells you after you Oed based primarily on your temps. Three hig temps means you Oed. I'm jot sure if it even looks at much else besides your temps. It tries to predict in the calendar section based off past cycles but after a loss/chemical your cycles are going to be messed up. I wouldn't add b6 as it sways boy. Wait another cycle or two and see what your LP does.

spotting a couple days before a normal length LP is fine. Spotting a couple days before a 10 day LP is a problem. I think FF is wrong, you had a 13, possibly 14 day LP with 2 days of spotting before that and it is no big deal.
They may try to predict O but it doesn't mean that's when you'll O. Plus, please understand that even if they have O correct, your LP will then be tacked onto the end of that time - you won't get your period the exact same day of the month you do this month. Your LP is added to the end of whenever you ovulate and stays the same length even when you ovulate late.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
