I think at 13 weeks, it is a solid assumption with the correct view- straight spine and leg out of the way. I see lots of pics that the leg is clearly blocking any nub and many people guess girl because they do not see anything sticking up.

I went to a specialist for my NT scan due to AMA and he told me that it was accurate and he could tell me what it was with pretty high certainty. I was 13 weeks though.
In retrospect both my 13 week scans with DS 4 and now DD were really obvious so I can believe it. But it was never the angle, it was that DS had penis and nuts and DD had really long bright lines that just looked vag-y with nothing below and nothing really at the far end either, and when the tech did a bottom up shot, there was nothing there at all. I rem. with DS 4 thinking it HAD to be the umbilical cord - nope! I think the angles were all over the place though, because they were moving all the time.

Thanks you guys, I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with this.

PS - The techs could tell too, even tho they are sworn to secrecy at my doc's office their demeanors gave it away both times.

Interesting, that's very helpful! thank you!

If I remember well from IG, Charliecats said ( and she is ultrasound technician, no?) that fork on the nub means nothing regarding gender.

I'm sure she's totally correct,, but long parallel lines seems to mean girl regardless of angle, right??

TTC, I think your pics are awesome in that in your daughter's pic, she's curled up and still has a straight nub so clearly a girl, while on your son's, his back is very straight and his winky is still standing up. I think for most people's pics, the babies are not so cooperative!! It just seems much harder to tell angle when babe is curled up than when not.
