skull or nub theory?? Friends 12 week scan :)
Hi Ladies,
I was discussing the skull and nub theory with one of my girlfriends the other day so she gave me a pic of her 12 week bub to put on here.... she also mentioned that when she first found out she was pregnant she just "knew" that she was having a girl....strange I know, but she is very intuitive like that at first when I looked at her ultrasound pic I was like woooaahhh... your having a BOY....but then on closer inspection, when we zoomed in on what we think is the nub, the two smaller lines on top of the big one have a shadow going from BOTH of them to the abdomen (which makes me think that it might be cord??) and also the larger thicker line when it is zoomed in on has a diagonal grey line through it?? Another question is, I didnt think that a boy nub would be so developed at the 12 week mark....this looks like it at a 90degree angle?? Is this the actual nub that we are looking at or is it being hidden by something? Also I thought that the skull looked kinda girlie....but I don't know how much evidence is on that theory...
Anyway, no matter what it is she said she will be happy, but she was almost willing to bet money on it being a girl lol not too sure if she will be finding out the sex yet, but who knows...maybe curiosity will get the better of her
Here's the pic....any input would be great....we had so much fun disecting this one!! It was like being in human biology class again back in high school (there was lots of giggles that's for sure)
Cheers x

I would say boy all the way and my heart goes out to her, because I "had a feeling" I was having a girl that was SO strong, and I got the most boyish boy of my 4!

Thanks ladies I will let her know what you all think... I'm still not 100% sure on this one as it definitely looks like a boy, but it also looks too to big to be a nub (unless he is one very lucky lil man haha) as all the other boy nubs I have seen are a lot smaller and only have one bump on top of them and they are usualy at the end of the nub (especially at 12weeks)....unless the tech got a freakishly perfect nub shot without even trying, I'm still not convinced lol maybe it's just because she really thought she was having a girl, I might be holding out hope for her Thanks again for all your input x
