There's nothing like seeing white streaks in your underwear...after you've seen what I have. .I can't even type it.
I am SO happy right now! I couldn't get a beta done this week..maybe tomorrow!
It should be like...800 right now!
:D
I am not morning sick, and I have a good appetite! *KNOCK ON WOOD*
I hope this little one will gift me with the opposite gender effect: little to no M/S since my boys had me hugging the toilet for months.
I have some symptoms though.. peeing like crazy and gas here and there.. and sore boobs on and off too. I know I have a healthy bean in there right now!

It is SUCH a relief! :) As of yesterday it should have been 800 so it should be MUCH higher today :) I just want to hear it! I haven't had a draw since the spotting stopped so this one is SO exciting. I had to drag my butt out of bed to do it, because I know I just had to!
And yes mam, we need to lose all that weight. I just want 3 kids and after that I want to get in shape. I hate and I mean HATE to exercise, but I love the feeling afterwards! haha

Don't call yourself a bad mommy because you are sick. It's a fact, you take care of yourself first, or you can't take care of others! Can you call a friend?

Gosh, nobody should threaten God ever!
Now Babyy hon, there is absolutely no way to know what you are having this early. So, it's your first baby ever? HOW EXCITING! Even if it was a boy, wouldn't you want your daughter to have a big brother to protect her? ;)
I wouldn't start on anything, just be happy you are pregnant, and enjoy it! Oh you are going to LOVE feeling baby inside of you, it is such a FUN time, and is my favorite part of being prego.
As far as hcg .. it's the pregnancy hormone, and it's the indicator on whether you have a viable pregnancy or not
This is from americanpregnancy.org:
Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :
3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml
I went to get my blood drawn to gage where my hcg is sitting and if it's doubling normally every 48 hours. This was especially important to me after my loss.
So the way it works is...
My first level was 55 so 48 hours later it should be 110..and my next one was 100
depends on the hour you get your betas drawn..you should try to shoot for the same time.
So my beta should have looked like this
Mon: 55:
Wed:100
Friday 200
Sunday 400
Tues 800
Thurs 1600
And so on....
I guess pregnancy brain strikes again damnit... so it should have been 1600 Thur not 800.

I'm very happy that I am pregnant but very unhappy that everyone is testing on me as well as testing my patience. I already felt like oh no I failed at my sway and I wanted my boy last. I feel so horribly selfish but everyone is rubbing it in its a boy! Haha another boy in this family! It drives a persons nuts and on top of everything my own mothers reaction broke my heart. Not a smile, not a hug, no congratulations..just str8 judgement and criticism written all over that face of hers, I cried myself to sleep for days now (sorry baby I know my tears are bothering u already)
I have been going nuts checking things such as no morning sickness means it's a boy or any little thing I can match to the fact that I'm having a boy when I don't even know! Maybe I'm just far too stressed because of my mother and then hubbies mother is talking too much. I told her I will not tell her anything because she's trying to tell too many people and it's still early. Oh gosh and his brother isn't happy because he wants to be the 1st to have a baby in the house since he's the oldest. He's so evil and hurtful about this pregnancy. I feel like everyone that should be the most supportive just wants to see us fail :tissue: I'm never this emotional I mean am I supposed to even be this e,optional so early on!?

I agree, they are SO wrong to be on you about gender. They have no right, and I know how you feel!
I am not telling anyone else until I am 12 weeks...or 15.. my hubby says we will do 15 this time!
Because I don't want to hear "It's a Boy, I just know it!" Even my BFF ain't going there this time!
Tell them to BACK OFF! :(
I am sorry you are crying yourself to sleep, that makes me so sad just thinking about it.
As far as the morning sickness what I call OWT that girls make you sicker... I was SICK all 9 months with my sons, no joke. So PLEASE don't go off the "Oh no morning sickness means boy, I'm doomed!"
And yes I've heard you can be emotional at the drop of a hat so don't worry!
Your hormones are going absolutely crazy right now! You will get MANY mood swings.

Well according to Pregnancy and Dizziness : American Pregnancy Association (http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/dizziness.html)
They say it's normal unless accompanied by cramping and bleeding.
It's just a new pregnancy symptom I guess. :)
I think I need a nap. But if it persists I will call the on-call doc.

The internet says not to until 12 weeks..so that's 6 weeks and a few days from now for me...and some sites say Don't do it at all, and that I think is overboard.
I can't help but be terrified! DH tried his hardest to pressure me into playing around but not going inside...
To me that's like two damn teenagers saying "We'll kiss, but we won't do anything else."
None of my pregnancies ever dragged..but this one... OH YEAH!

Baby Love, in regards to gender, we will all tell you Morning sickness or lack of does not indicate boy or girl either way! MS is one of those lovely things that really depend on the woman's own individual body REACTS To the preg. hormones!! I had about the same amount of MS with my two boys and this girl, the only difference was the time of day, and the fact this time I really could not stand meat, and meat did help soothe my MS with my boys...but that was about it! You do not know nor can any of the Old Wives Tales predict gender! don't worry about it....I am sorry your family and his family are being such butt heads!! This is a beatuiful time in your life, you're having your FIRST BABY!!!!!!!!! Forget everything else and just enjoy it...I also wanted my girls first and maybe a boy last (if at all) but I can tell you, if you do end up with a boy 1st, boys are great, loving, and the most supportive things ..they love their momma's!!!!
But you may very well have a girl in there...don't worry (I know easier said than done!) just try to enjoy the preg. as much as you can, esp. since you were TTC for a year! This is a time to savor the moments!!
Butterfly--very glad to hear your BETA is good. I think it's OK you gave your DH some loving, but I may also error on the side on caution and try to hold off again for a little bit. Nice bump pics!!

Thank you auroara for your words :hugs: . I have this really weird feeling like "I know what you are in there!!" lol @ the families being butt heads THEY SURE ARE! My mother is the worst though its too heartbreaking but I have to stay away from her for now. I want a boy I just want him last because I know they are mommas boys and I want to spoil the youngest to death..it's unexplainable I guess. Oh gosh I am so addicted to meat right now :( I am lazier than ever and forever tired

I just wanted to report that all is still well even after two sessions of play LOL ;)
I needed it too. I'll admit it! But NOW I'm going to try to give it a rest.
I've been dreaming about making flowered headbands all night. I can't wait!
They are SO easy and CHEAP to make.. don't buy them pre-made!
So you know how I told ya'll about DH family's premontional dreams.. well his sister walked right up to him on Father's Day at the family event and asked cheerfully if I was pregnant.
I wasn't able to make the event but when he told me I said.. "Well we know your family are all dreaming that I'm pregnant!"
And He lied to her, he doesn't want them to know yet, and I don't either! We don't want to hear wise cracks on the gender!
DS#1 birthday is next month.. and I'll be 10 weeks by then and showing A LOT more, and I already show enough and even a bit bigger.. so we won't be able to hide it then :(
Plus it's a water slide, slip n slide, hot tub party and DH and I were the only ones who acted like kids last year and had a blast! Needles to say, I won't be doing that this time! ;)
We were thinking of maybe doing the end of August but there are 2 family birthdays at that time! UGH decisions!
I do want to do that gender party for sure just not sure when! I'm very excited though... never found out at 15 weeks before!

I'm worried I know I need to eat but when I eat I get full off of like 3 bites and I feel so sick I realize I'm barely eating :tissue: I don't know what to do. There's all unhealthy food here so I don't bother eating BUT when dinner time comes I DO chow down there but today I just can not eat. I made pancakes and was excited to eat until I got sick in the middle of eating. I ate all 3 slices of my turkey bacon and literately 2 bites of pancakes and slept my day away

Pregnancy cravings tonight...I craved a bowl of honey nut cheerios with banana.. well... no milk.. so I improvised and used mixed berry yogurt. Interesting to say the least! Next...after a few hours:
peanut butter and honey sandwich yum! Opening the pantry and can't find the peanut butter anywhere! Next I go looking for bread....we're OUT! UGH... then I spot the tortillas in the fridge..okay that can work.. then I find the peanut butter in the FRIDGE Noooo! LOL Oh well... So I melt the PB and heat up the tortilla until it's hot, and then I squirt honey all over it and roll it up..... OOOOMG It's better than a regular PB and Honey sandwich!!!!! :D
Don't forget the Sprite to wash it down! (Since I don't have milk :( )

He was very pleased with my quantitive hcg test and asked me about my symptoms and such and says he would like to do a scan next week as thee hcg by now would be fine and he would probably even be able to detect a heartbeat! He also said "It looks as though you have a healthy viable pregnancy!" I am happy and excited! I wish I could have got my tired butt in for a beta today but oh well. :)

OMG for crying out loud, tell him I said to shut up. Women have been doing it for hundreds of years and they have healthy babies..If you can't keep anything down though you need to tell your doc. You should be able to keep something down. Crackers like saltines, gingerale, or dry toast. I'm sorry he's nagging you. I've started a bit of sickness myself and if I don't eat... it comes on. If I don't eat enough it comes on! I don't know if it's the same as my others but I hope not.
I'm sorry you are SO sick, really though if you can't keep anything down you need to tell your doc. There are anti-nausea meds and other things. I take Phenegrine for my M/S when it comes on strong. I know you can take B6 or B12 for nausea as well and it has been known to help. They can give it to you in shot form if you can't keep it down.

Babyy, you may find that if you eat, you actually feel BETTER, not worse. With my first I was throwing up all the time because i never wanted to eat, but with the other kiddos I realized that eating actually prevented me from throwing up.
Try sucking a Jolly Rancher or lemon drop in the morning first thing when you get up - it can help. I was able to handle tart things a lot better than most foods.

OMG!! Why can't I be normal!? When I eat I am a wreck but when I don't eat I'm just weak and tired but not sick..normal?? I think not! But what I do is whatever I "crave" I go for it and I actually can stomach it. I force apples down tho and Teddy Grahams are my friends! I need to go shopping though because we have almost nothing to eat here & as long as I am forcing myself I might as well make it enjoyable. Pistacios, sunflower seed, Teddy grahams, fruit, and broccoli is what I will have to live off of..OH and white rice!
Lol Butterfly my hunny isn't THAT bad but he's afraid of losing the baby or something going wrong since the baby is tiny & since I rarely eat and I am a little extra stressed. BUT he does need to back off sometimes lol

Sorry to interrupt here.
With my first baby I had HG. I was in and out of hospital on drips. Just thinking of different things I would get sick. My dreams would cause me to get sick. Smells. The works.
It was horrid. My partner had to cook for himself outside. I lived off of coffee and ginger biscuits the first 18 odd weeks then I could eat mashed potato cheese etc but still getting sick everyday till 40 weeks.
Well guess what??? My baby was a healthy 8 pounds 5 with scores of 8 and 9!!!
Trust me your baby will be fine. Yes I puked up water but I tried getting water into my system. The times I didn't I ended up in hospital.
With my second baby. I was sick every day till 16 weeks. Then every other day till 20 weeks.
In the first trimester I lived off of ice and lemon!!!
You can get tablets to help nausea though =) not sure on what their name would be over there. My dr write me a prescription the first appointment considering my pregnancy before that.
Best of luck. A high percentage of ladies ms is pretty much gone come 15 weeks ( hate whb thy say 12 weeks lol) if you need any help just pm me =)

You aren't interrupting here at all, everyone's input is welcome. And I hear you... I was sick all 9 months with my 2 boys but Phenegrine helped a lot. I have it in my medicine cabinet, I know it helps but it makes me REALLY tired.. and I'm already on progesterone so that makes me tired. :) I shouldn't complain.. this is NOTHING like I have been through before, I guess I'm just worried about it turning into what I've dealt with in the past.

I've read a bit into what you've gone through. But only on my phone ATM. And I don't blame you at all. I've never heard of phenerghan to help ms. But I cann see why it would make you sleepy. What category is it for pregnancy? C?
I took maxalon. It's safe during pregnancy. There's also donperadone? But it's not fully tested yet.

It's the generic Promethazine that I have taken in the past. I've gotten it with my first 2 pregnancies. I'm actually not sure where it falls on the list..hmm. :\
Since I'm not as sick I'm wondering if it's my B-50 complex pill I've been on to conceive it has B-6 and B-12 in it. That might be the case.. this is different sickness, but it's not fun either lol :) Thank you!

I can eat fruits and there's no problem and plain broccoli. I also go for what I crave and it works! I have been craving spaghetti as well as stew chicken so I cannot wait to make it so I can eat in piece. Oh you poor thing. I can sort of relate.
My first baby we never found out the sex. From the get go I was SURE it was a girl. I couldn't imagine it being a boy. Some people went along. Some people didn't. Was my cousins that would slap it in my face. Ohhhhh nope another boy. You're too fierce to have a girl.
Come my second baby. I just knew h would be a boy. So when I had my scan and found out he was a he. I was over the moon!!! Yes secretly hoping for a girl. But wanting a little brother for my first. Honestly just so happy. We called people to tell them and they really had no care. Their reactions were oh another boy ... Oh that will be nice for ds1. Or oh I'm so sorry. You'll get a girl one day???? Hello did you not her my excitement.
Then I had people doubting he was a he around 30 weeks!!! I almost had a heart attack. I couldn't sleep at night. By this time I was 100% for having a boy. Yet people were doubting. I had a scan at 34 weeks due to placenta previa and he was very much a he lol. I could have screamed it from the roof tops hahha.
I feel a bit for my ds2. He really doesn't get the love and attention his big bro gets from family. Mil sai oh second baby isn't as important especially if it's the same sex???? I was furious. May be the reason why ds2 has me wrapped around his pinky lol.

I had an U/S today, and I refused the trans vaginal! lol. My doc called very soon afterwards to give me the results. My baby is there, measuring 6 weeks 5 days with a heartbeat so yay! I HATE how the tech can't say a damn word or even show you anything.
He also mentioned a small collection of blood about a inch from the fetus but he says it's normal. If I spot again, that's why! So nerve wracking. I don't go back to the doc for 5 weeks for my actual prenatal appt so..just gotta make it through July! I asked him if it was implanted on the left side or right side and he said that the techs don't tell that information and usually can't tell this early. Well darn!
Does this mean that I was less days past ovulation when I got my positive?

At this stage, they can't tell quite as much with an abdominal ultrasound so I wouldn't put too much stock into how far along you are by this ultrasound. It's totally possible that you were a little further than you thought, but then again it may just be that they couldn't see very clearly! :)

Well I did it, I officially looked my mother-in-law in the eye and lied to her. She asked me if we were expecting...I said "Nope, not yet..but we're working on it!" Well I can't tell her the truth.. the WHOLE family would know before my son's combined bday party at the end of the month! And we don't want them to know! LOL I wore my biggest maternity top last night that hid my bump beautifully!
She then goes "Well you know when you do that it will be a girl right? (At that moment it's like it was confirmed for me) You know the dream I had.." (She has premonitional dreams) And I said "Yep, I believe that I will too.. but if not it's okay, I love my boys to death" And she's like "Nope. It will be a girl, I know it!" Then a little bit later she says "Then again, maybe you will have four kids.." I said "NOPE, lol, he won't allow it.." "Well, people change, and they change all the time.." :)
I only want 3. I didn't say that though!
I believe her though. This pregnancy is completely different. I don't even have headaches or heartburn..and this M/S is weird! It's not that bad. *knocks on wood* I didn't think it would be if I was carrying a girl.
But besides all the prego symptoms... my mother's intuition says "GIRL!"
I hope July hurries up! One month until the celebration scan yay! One month ago today I found out I was pregnant! I really think I am 8 weeks instead of 7 weeks and whatever days. You're right Atomic, I probably am further along than I thought. And I guess I was lucky they were able to tell 6 weeks 5 days on the abdominal ultrasound My baby probably looks like a mini baby now! :D I'm still glad I opted out of the trans vaginal!
And the last thing I want to say. I saw the Hunger Games movie last night with DH while M-I-L watched my boys... and what a horrible movie it was! Horrible plot!!!

Personally I don't understand all the fuss about the Hunger games, it seems bleh to me. I didn't bother reading the books either, because it reminds me of a teenager "Running Man" or even teenagers like "Gladiator" the whole thing about two people being pit aganist their will to fight is sooooo meh....it's been overdone!
I'm glad to hear that everything is going good with preg. Butterfly....will you get a gender scan to find out at 16 weeks this time? I'm so excited for you ...do you have 4th of July plans for your boys?

Are Everyday Plastics Causing Infertility? (http://natural-fertility-info.com/plastic-infertility.html)
Maybe it's silly...but DH and I absolutely hate washing dishes and our dishwasher is broken so we use plastic silverware and cups for all of us..and we drink bottled water...we've done this for awhile hmmm lately we are thinking of doing filtered water in a shatter proof glass container for on the go! Then when we get a dishwasher we will use silverware and glassware again. We also don't use glassware plates and dishes because my kids break them! What does everyone else do?

Alright, so I officially threw up last night. LOL I was brushing my teeth and then felt I had to TMI hack up mucus this is my second thing that I despise about being pregnant.. the feeling of that extra stuff that I have to get rid of and then I get nauseous afterwards. Anyone else on the same boat? EWWW lol
But other than that I really feel like Tuesdays are my change up. So I will be happy on Tuesdays..
9 weeks YAY!!! But I will do my glittery official update on Fridays
I won't know for sure where I am until 12 week scan because then a transvaginal won't be necessary.
I just wanted to update you all. I am happy and well.. and even thankful for the nausea.
The past few days have FLOWN.. every time I turn around I am taking Progesterone! :) LOL

RED, any red cast or even pink cast to the mixture of cabbage water and FMU is a indicator of a BOY result.
Dark to light purple or even blue means GIRL.
I haven't done the baking soda one, but still might. Just for the hell of it! :)
I'll have to redo the ring string test too. That's the same one right?

What's is that?
It's the red cabbage gender test. Youtube it ;)
Just a fun OWT gender test that you perform before 10 weeks of pregnancy..usually starting at 8 weeks is best.
You buy a red cabbage and cut it up and boil it in some water and then take it off the heat for and cover it for 10-12 minutes, then you separate some cabbage water in a cup and then you go pee your FMU into a cup or go get the cup of FMU you set aside earlier and you combine the two and see if there is a color change or not. You must have the exact amount of urine and cabbage water to mix. I think mine were a tad off but oh well.
I got a BOY result. I'm not taking much stock in it. The ladies that have taken it on our forum that I know about, got the opposite result of what they were carrying.

DS#1 birthday was enjoyed with his brother on Sunday with DH's family. We did a water slide water party! It was very fun! When they did cake we wanted to make an announcement right as everyone sang, but that didn't work out so we did it at present time instead. I asked the boys to tell everyone what was in mama's tummy and they said "Baby sister in there" lol but DH didn't like that so he tried to just blurt it out.. everyone was excited though and of course eager to know when we can find out the sex. My sis-in-law doesn't get how you can find out at 15 weeks, but I told her you can.. but that we will probably do 16. My mom-in-law that I told you has those premonitional dreams said that in April she dreamed of a pregnancy but not a resulting baby, and she didn't know who's it was.. now she knows it was mine because I told her about our loss. She said she dreamed the same about my sis-in-law, her daughter who also M/C.
She asked me how I felt and was like "Oh, but you were sick with your boys!" Then later on she said "I really think it's a girl.. It's a GIRL." UGH! :(
Last night I got a headache that just wouldn't quit and I got the dry heaves from it.. and finally DH had to run to 711 for extra strength tylenol. It said each capsule was 500mg! I freaked out and only took one.. well the headache is back.. is it safe? I don't want to get addicted to extra strength tylenol.
PS I HATE TAKING MY SUPPLEMENTS! Calcium, Magnesium, B-50 complex everyday BAH! I have thoughts of stopping at 12 weeks but..
I'm torn though because my son nurses so much.. and I don't have an appetite for much..
I think I need the nutrients! I also think I'm changing my mind on lunchmeat.. I think I will eat it. I need the protein! It kills me because I ate it EVERYDAY on salads with DS 1 and 2. This time I don't crave the salad.

I asked for it at the start of my pregnancy. It was a safeguard against M/C.
My gut isn't okay with stopping cold turkey, and I'm thinking one a night for 6 nights at LEAST!

The chance of twins is seriously freaking me out! DH keeps joking that it better not be twins and I haven't even told him about the increased chance with vitex.
Most people on this site are taking vitex and all the twins save one have been from Clomid, not vitex. The other set of twins were identical and vitex does not cause ID twinning. I don't think vitex causes twinning very strongly at all.

So I know I'm super late & I haven't been around much so I have lots of catching up to do but hi everyone!!
And I just wanted to add to quench my thirst I actually MUST have Ginger ale because it helps with the nausea. During dinner I take a few bites and feel like it's all about to come back up and then ginger ale clears it all up and I force drink seltzer water :sigh: & 100% juice only because I now crave juice other than that water is my best friend. Try lemon or lime or both to trick your mind into thinking it's some type of juice instead of plain water and there's flavored seltzer water as well

BS!
I just wanted to update also that I found a strong heartbeat on my LEFT side last night still in the 160s! Left side =Anything that points girl makes me SMILE! :)
I've also been sick 24/7 with nausea that just won't quit. Thus why I don't come on much anymore.

Alright Alright My doc just called.. and he said he could do an U/S in the office next week and try to get me a picture. He does not know how to get one at the present time... LOL those STUPID stone aged machines in their offices.. they make so much money, it frustrates the crap out of me they don't update their medical equipment and NOT just keep 'what works'.
I just want a flipping picture! I don't need a formal U/S.
And he told me the formal one won't be until 20 weeks ahhh!!! I can't wait that damn long. How do you ladies convince your docs for 12 or 15 week scans? Or do you go private?

I feel your pain! Where I live, they only do 8 week and 16-20 week scans. I am already planning on doing an elective u/s at 13 weeks and the good news is that they give you a DVD too! I would rather pay for good nub shots then get some crappy ones at the dr office!
Especially since I am trying to stay team green...in DH's eyes! LOL!

Is there anywhere close by you could get a private nub scan for a reasonable price? Sounds like that might be your best bet seeing your doc doesn't seem too positive about getting a good pic.
auroara78
August 8th, 2012, 10:24 AM
My OB only does a 8 week U/S to confirm viable pregnancy and see a heartbeat and then a 20 week antatomy scan. If I wanted an ultrasound any other time, it'd have to be private place. Some private places are quite reasonable, I'd shop around, that way you'd get a good nub shot or at least if you want another few weeks, at 16 weeks, you'd get a reasonable guess on gender.

Here in Canada we're given the option of a dating u/s early in the pregnancy, we have the nuchal at 11-13 weeks, then the anatomy u/s at 20 weeks.

My sis-in-law that has caused so much drama in my life that I have to block her from texting me, contacted my husband via text Thurs morning and said she wanted to do something VERY special for me but needs his help to do it. She wants to make an appt for a 15 weeks gender reveal scan at Fetal Fotos and pay for the session as well and afterwards there would be a pink and blue present waiting for me for whatever gender of baby I am carrying. My guess is I leave behind the other present and that would be her sneaky way of finding out what it is..and then she would spread the news against my will or just have the satisfaction of finding out first when I want absolutely nobody to know before I'm ready to tell. It's SAD..I wish I could trust her and let her pay for an amazing amazing gift. But I've trusted her too many times when I've taken her back as a friend and soon after that I am just stabbed in the back. I was even half tempted until I really thought about it. This is HUGE to me. I am planning on a gender party if we see PINK.. this is my last baby..and I am SO excited and can't stop fantasizing about it! Even just a small reveal to my mom I am SO looking forward to! I can't let there be a chance of her ruining that. I seem to be the only one that cares about finding out before 20 weeks..and it's sad. My mom doesn't care, my DH doesn't care. I have a little birthday money I've been saving so MAYBE I can convince DH to pay for some of it and go with to get a small scan and a few pics..it's better than nothing.
I also told my mom and my mom said that I don't want to be indebted to her in any way, and she just has a feeling that she is up to something.

And my last vent is being mad at myself.. I had a REALLY good reason for a 12-13 week scan but did I think of it in time to tell my doc? NO! I have major concerns over barely being able to eat or drink because I'm sick 24/7..throwing up not as much but nauseous constantly.. and then breastfeeding. What the hell is my baby getting? I didn't come off any of my supplements because as much as I HATE taking them, I know my baby needs them. So I had a good reason to see my baby and if they are growing and healthy... GRRRRRR! Well.. I guess the mini scan on Monday will reveal that.. :'(

I was thinking it would be really cool if the mods of GD took all the U/S pics of nubs and put them into galleries and what the sex of the baby was confirmed as.
Ok here's a pic I found on the skull theory..

And here's help for those on the nub theory:

And I realize the skull theory is more fun, I find it interesting that the babes skulls about match their respective gender.

VERY disappointing day! We had to take both kids to the doc, so I don't know if my doc was thrown off or not, but.. he listened to baby and then proceeded to try to talk us out of the U/S. I was pretty surprised by that. He did not even do a fundal measurement! So then he sent us out to the receptionist to make an appointment for the 20 week ultrasound so we did that..Sept 24th
Then we went to the U/S room and waited.. it was a nice ultrasound machine just like in a hospital, so I was getting excited!
Then some lady came in talking about a medical study about... Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and then I let her take some blood to test for it because it's particularly bad if you are pregnant. She says like only 1% of prego ladies actively have it...and many have already had it yada yada yada.. I thought why not.. it's just a test.. I'm not going to participate in the study or take any vaccine..
so yeah. now we get back to my doctor and why he fought so hard to not do the ultrasound.. He is clueless............ Oh I was furious.... I said "Can you get a profile shot for me?" Then DH said "Can you get an underneath shot?" "What am I measuring?" dead silence then "around 14 weeks.." NO...REALLY?
NO WAY! I thought. DH and I even got in a fight on the way home we were so frustrated. It was just horrible... I was in shock that my OB couldn't run the U/S machine...even I knew to measure from crown to rump to get the gestational age.. I'm just angry beyond words. DH was like "Well I'm amazed he doesn't know how to run the U/S...if I was an OB I'd make damn sure I knew what was going on.." etc etc "If you want to switch docs I grant you permission"
AHHHHHHHHHH :hair:
The baby was a freaking moving blob, It wasn't even clear.. I couldn't even tell what angle he was looking.. I GUESS from above. The skull couldn't even make out a shape.. he didn't even want to turn the light off.
Anyways, not sure how I feel about things at this point.. I'm just wondering if I should base things off of that and get you ladies experiences with your OBs..is it the tech's job to do the perfect pics and the docs to analyze and know what they are looking at or should the OB know both things? HELP! :'(
I was crabby still when we arrived at my MILS to visit..but later on actually the end of the visit I was telling her how water makes me just nauseous and I have to drink lots of lemonade.. and she blurted out
"It's a girl.. I know it is" 'I had a dream...." and I said " Wait, what you didn't tell me that.. WHEN?" "About a week ago" and I was just SO happy... ( I told you all she has premonitional dreams and has seen every baby before it's born into the family) She said.. I then checked to make sure nobody else was pregnant..and nobody is .. so she must be yours! I said "I really do feel that It's a girl."
So I think that was my confirmation... But DH won't buy it until he sees the U/S.
I will say this though... when I was looking at my sweet little baby I did feel it was my DD... it was just a different feeling.. I didn't feel I was looking at a boy. So I am going to beg DH to get a private scan and give him the little money I have for it. He said okay... We will go home and look at things.
So that was my day ladies.. and I said I would update :p

Oh Butterfly that sucks that your doc didn't know what he was doing. An obs should def be able to do a basic u/s, not sure where you are but in Aus they are often required to do them later in preg to check fluid levels, bubs position etc. So yes, he def should have known what's what. Earlier in preg it should actually be easier for them as baby is so small and therefore it's easier get good profile shots etc. Did you get any photos?
I private scan sounds like a good idea if you really want to know gender, and yay about MIL's dream!

I think you'd be OK with a private place now...lots of women on here had gender confirmed at around 15 weeks, tho that is considered early...I would def. elect for a private place, because you pay them money, they do what you wnat them to do!! I agree that it's odd for an OB not to be able to run an U/S machine...at my OB's office the techs do all the ultrasounds cuz it's a huge practice,so I'm not even sure how good my OB would be at it since he's never done it!

I have been thinking of how to tell you all...
I have been living a sweet euphoria this week both in smiles and tears
because I did have one private scan on Tues and the tech wrote on the screen and said..
:HH: :babyf: :HH: IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! :running:
DH and I saw nothing that indicated :diaper:
And we came home and watched countless youtube videos of boys at 14-15 weeks..
What we saw was only a girly skull and nub the whole way through.. though baby wasn't too cooperative at all! She tried an hour and a half later too.
The tech invited us back for a repeat scan to verify..and I'm trying to beg for a DVD from somewhere else. Because afterwards DH wished he paid the extra for the DVD anyway so we could watch it ourselves over and over again.
So though, I'm pretty convinced, because I already told my family with a box of pink balloons..and he's damn convinced.. it's not my formal announcement yet.. but I'm going to get my second sway together and then I will post the results next week.
For now, I'm just in shock! LOL
This week I've also been in denial, and DH is trying to snap me out of it and he is VERY excited that it all worked! I told him it's normal..ladies I know go through it all the time!

Good, sweetie.. and I will help you!
I'm totally different than anyone on this site:
I know the Calcium, Magnesium, and B50 complex are old school pink sway but they were new to me and felt the most right. I did that and added prayer!
I DID NOT DIET! I Love Food Too Much!!!!!! ;)
I did abstain from Caffeine (Coke) for months!
And avoided chocolate around O!
I also started out heavier than in my other pregnancies, so I guess that's part of my sway.
I have a heavyweight friend on fb and she just announced her third girl on Tues. She has been heavy for years but it's gotten her pink Every time!
I am going to put my sway together and post it next week! I waited until now to do it.

Sometimes I think your bodies are thrown off because there aren't enough nutrients to conceive and since there is no concrete girl sway I think several of you might not get enough calories.
That's my opinion and please nobody yell at me for it!
Oh, I also drank whole milk and ate 1 activia strawberry breakfast yogurt once a day.
At least a pack of 4 a week.
I got tons of calcium! LoL
And I used Vitex, RepHresh, and SYLK.
I did a pretty dedicated sway in my opinion WITHOUT the dreaded diet! :)
I made DH do supplements! Cranberry...Calcium, and Mag and I can't remember if he took the B50 but I think he did.. In the month I conceived Rainbow though he did not take them really.

I did 2, 400mg Nature's Way capsules together in the morning because I read somewhere that it absorbs best then.
And I was taking it alone until I got migraines so I combined it with my other supplements and magnesium and the headaches stopped.

Congratulations, Butterfly. I'm so happy for you!!!
We're going to attempt this cycle, but I am completely off diet... been eating breakfast (we've been on holiday this month - twice!) and pretty much, whatever, whenever. I'm sad because I feel like it will be a boy, though I will love a boy. I just feel annoyed I've given up already... but my body just wasn't working right. :/ And I want to get pregnant faster than this, sigh.

In fact, the only sway factor is DH agreed to FR... er... and... that's it. We're both vegetarian already but we conceived a boy as vegetarians so I'm not leaning on that fact much. I keep wanting to try to not snack/have breakfast, but not happened yet. Might try to stick to that now that we're back from the second vacation (We were in Scotland over the weekend...)

:HH: Thank you Surgena sweetie!
I think this is just what your body needs. And also not eating strictly will take a LOAD of stress off of you so you can conceive. And you've done the supplements now for a few cycles so that's probably fine to go without those too!
I wish you the best of luck this next cycle and I really think that you will be pregnant soon, just keep that faith. The GD is hard, but you do have a beautiful son. Maybe you will end up surprised too and the work that you did will pay off this next cycle. Just try not to stress and just have fun in the bedroom and let go of everything.
You sure go on some lovely Holidays! :) Take care sweetie, and I hope to hear happy BFP news soon!!!

I just could not wait... so I called up the U/S place and got in tonight!!!!
But it's confirmed ladies, IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!! :running:
There were three lines the whole time... nothing between her little legs!
Bare with me while I figure out how to get the pics up
I am just in shock and OVER THE MOON! The tech was an OB from Europe and he has been doing this for years and he was working at that place a few years ago because we saw him there.
He told us that he is the owner! So that made me Very happy! DH Is VERY Happy!
We called up his mom and we are going to have a gender party, and I can't wait!
The U/S tech said his daughter has 4 boys. I told him to tell her to try Vitex! LOL
I just can't thank you ladies enough for the REAL love and support you have given me for the many months I have been on this site!
:HH: Thank you GD, and THANK YOU Atomic!!!!!!! And thank you Mocha for the sweet counseling and advice you gave me after my loss. :HH:

Congrats Butterfly!!!! I loved reading the excitement in your posts. I only used Vitex for one month before I got pregnant. Do you have to take it for a few months before it can "help"? I hope a few weeks on it worked for me...

Thank you ThreeMen, I also only took it for one month... less than that actually more like 2 weeks and I conceived my loss baby and then I took it from the day after my loss until 5 days before O and that also averaged 2 weeks!
SO YES MAM It can work like that!!!!
I don't think it's too common though. If you are more sensitive to it you'll prob respond to it faster. I think the average is 3-4 months before it makes a difference.

LOVE IT!!!!! You've been a great source of information and I'm glad your hard work has paid off. Enjoy your little girl. I still look at mine and can't believe she's part of MY family. She's almost 3 and there's not a day that goes by that I'm not grateful to be blessed with both genders. Congrats again!!!
