So we are meeting my parents for lunch tomorrow and my mom just informed me over the phone that she has a poison ivy rash. Great. My parents don't know yet we are expecting, we are waiting to tell them until after our 1st appointment at 8 weeks. Anyway, I know that the poison ivy rash itself isn't contagious, but I am still worried I will somehow contract it! I hate being around " sick" people when pregnant. Ugh.
Lol dreamsofxy, Im exactly the same I get soo cautious about whether any type of ilness or rash will be contagious or not!
My sisters know about me but I havent told my mum,as much as i love her and we are close but she has such a big mouth!! last time i told her about me when i was expecting DD i told her to lay low till Im atleast 12 weeks he pretty much told everyone who lived on our street and anybody who would come to the house she would tell them Im pregnant!! it was soooo annoying, so this time I will wait to tell her lol

Is anyone else already 'showing'? I mean it's really only from the afternoon on - so a partial food/water baby for sure! I am quite tiny to begin with so there isn't any fat for the bump to hide.. but still! I definitely need to be cautious about my clothing choices from now on. In the morning it's still pretty flat.. but man does it expand by bedtime. This is my third so I guess it's not really a shocker, but I'm only 8 weeks! Ah!
I've been noticing this time around that I can really feel my uterus pushing my other organs up. If I'm sitting I seriously feel like I can actually feel my uterus and everything else moving up towards my ribs. I definitely didn't experience this this early in pervious pregnancies!

I'm exactly the same! By teatime I look about 3 months gone despite being a good stone under my usual weight pre-le. I'm only 9st 4lb so can't really blame fat like I did with ds2! My mum even asked how many I have in there especially as I took Clomid. My tummy isn't going down in the.morning as much now either. I'm not going to be able to hide this for much longer and I'm only 8w4d!

I can hide it at work with my scrub shirts, but I am quickly running out of suitable clothes to wear to workout, visit friends, grocery shop and church! The scale weight is the same, the bloat is insane!!!! My DS1 and I are running a race today, it is finally warm out and I am a little stressed about looking preggo when no one (including my family) knows that I am pregnant. I don't want to look like a weight loss failure.....losing the extra lbs a few years ago, one always has this in the back of mind. My emotions are being messed around with this too...I am struggling with body image....boy, I can't wait until the obviously preggo weeks where no one doubts there is a baby (rather than a few extra meals!!) in there!!!

Anyone here have 3 or more kids already? I'm just wondering how you found the transition from 2-3. I found 1-2 quite difficult. Mainly because DS1 is probably the least independent child ever and constantly wants our attention so he made that transition a little harder. Now that he's older (3.5) and has a younger brother he isn't nearly as needy. I'm feeling like it won't be as bad as 1-2 but maybe I'm nuts. I already feel like life is in general chaotic.. but it's just second nature now.. how much more difficult is adding a 3rd?

I would like to know that too! My 1st is the same age (3.5) and has NEVER been independent, however, DS2 is completely the opposite, but I feel stressed to the max at times as it is with just two so am a bit concerned about how the jump from 2-3 will be...

My ds1 is less keen to help himself too, must be an oldest child thing. I really didn't want such a big age gap between ds2 & this one but perhaps it's not such a bad thing as they're both excited and understand better now than they would've done when we started ttc in Autumn 2011. I'm not too worried about going from 2-3 it's the moving house bit that I'm hoping will happen sometime this year. We need to sell sooner rather than later really but have only been on the market a few months.

It sounds like our years are going to be similar as I also have an older child (5) who hates doing things for himself, a younger one (2) who is very independent and we are moving house too! Well, moving continent actually but the upheaval is there whether you move a mile or a million. It is weird, before swaying I would have been horrified about moving when pg but now I am thankful that I don't have to worry about the effect it will have on T levels or stress about sticking to LE diet without a kitchen.
Ladies - how are you managing not to tell others that you are pg? We are staying with friends at the weekend and I don't want to lie about not drinking but also don't want to tell so early. We haven't seen them for a few months so I guess I could claim that I am on a health drive but am very skinny after LE diet that people will worry/ try to make me have just one drink. Suggestions? Thanks

That's a hard one. You could say your boy feeling well or just came down with something? Hard to keep quiet when you are around people who are drinking-doesn't take long for the question of if you are pregnant or not to come up. ;) good luck.

And I thought that my "evening" sickness with DS1 that lasted from week 6 - week 12 was awesome. As for my DS2, he made me literally sick for the entire pregnancy starting at 5 weeks....I was convinced that my IG sway worked with him....and I had swayed pink then too!!!

I am a horrible liar - I go red and start giggling. I just had this exact thing when my parents were over and my Dad guessed within about 3 days. I might go with pumpkins suggestion of saying I am on antibiotics if anyone asks and try to avoid getting asked by faking it with 'gin' and tonics. My friends are BIG social drinkers and we haven't seen each other in a while so I might need to pull an Oscar winning performance out!

I was horrible sick with both my boys - DS2 was even worse and lasted until about 30 weeks. Luckily for me in Canada we have a morning sickness drug that has been approved and it works wonders. I literally would have been in the hospital on IV my entire pregnancies without it! This one I also have it bad so for me it definitely doesn't mean anything! I hear the second pregnancy is always the worst for MS.. so don't freak out if you aren't as sick this time.
Oh and side note - my two pregnancies were polar opposites of each other - DS1 gained 10lbs total, was sick, carried low etc. DS2 gained 25lbs, horribly sick, carried high, looked ugly.. every girl "symptom" you could think of and he's all boy! I don't believe in any of that symptom stuff anymore..

Is it just me or do other boy moms feel like it's literally impossible that their carrying a girl?! Like I'm basically 100% convinced it's a boy and that DH and I could never make a girl. It's probably true too! The sad thing is I don't even care, DH really wants a daughter but more me I just want one so that people will actually be happy for us. My in-laws don't stop talking about hoping and praying it's a girl and everyone else I know always says "you guys gotta have a girl, they are so amazing' blah blah blah.. I just want one to shut everyone up! How sad is that!!

With both ds, I felt a little queasy on and off in the early weeks but it was not really noticeable as I don't remember it ever being enough to put it off my food :D
However this time around I've been feeling nauseous since bfp and at 9 weeks I'm still feeling it most days of the week. It has eased a little bit only to be replaced by a nasty taste in my mouth almost all day long and so much creamy cm that I need to wear a pantyliner. It's so different this time around that the nearer I get to my 12 week scan the more curious I am about how many are in there! I really don't believe that symptoms point to a gender, especially as I was in such a different state of health compared to the last two pgs! I think the hormones are more likely to affect me in a different way because of that. Imho anyway!

The morning sickness in the beginning many say have a lot to do with the hormone Hcg, and generally when you carry a girl Hcg is a bit higher than when you carry a boy, thus, more nausea. However, the "normal" range varies so much that this thought is hard to rely on from person to person. Same for multiples...Hcg is higher, so more nausea? Not necessarily. Although it can be, any people who had multiples said the morning sickness was no different, but the fatigue was much worse. Too many variables, and it is so different person to person. I had my Hcg checked with this pregnancy. Double the normal high for gestation and quadrupled in 48 hrs rather than doubled, and still no nausea...so I don't believe in that too much. However, I didn't have it much with my other two either, and if I did this time I'd have been more apt to think it was a girl ;) or multiples...still don't know, I guess. And based on your symptoms with this pregnancy compared to your previous ones, I'd be thinking you were having a girl :) since it's "different". Hope so! I still love old wives tales. Anyway, sorry for rambling!

Hello ladies! Do you mind if I join you all here? I already asked to be added to the roll call list :) I must have overlooked this sticky! Anyway I did a sway somewhat I guess, I added it to the swaying list. But I dont feel great about my sway knowing that diet is the most important factor and my least strong part of my sway! Anyway I am due on the 27th of december per my last cycle but I have a feeling that may change at my first ultrasound! I am not even scheduled til the 24th of May :( I should be about 9 weeks then so hopefully we will see a cute little gummy bear!
How is everyone doing? I am getting super impatient already! I have been debating not finding out the gender... but I dont see that happening. I have already taken every test and old wives thing I could possibly get my hands on. I really wish I wasnt so obsessed over it! But seriously, what else do I have to do while I am just waiting for appointments or feeling the baby move or something else that can entertain me?!? LOL!

Welcome and congrats oxox2013!
My first appt. or ultrasound isn't until 12weeks (I'm only 8) so it's a long ways away! I've done all those old wives tales tests too in my past pregnancies and they were mostly wrong so I haven't bothered this time! But hey, it keeps us occupied so why not, right! :)
Has anyone started to think of names yet? I know it's a little early, but I'm assuming this will be boy #3 so I really need to crack down on some names. We had SUCH a hard time with DS1 finding a boy name, and then DS2 came around and that literally used up ALL my potential names so now I have NOTHING! We like different, so it's so hard! My first two have 3 names each too (1 first and 2 middle names) so trying to find another combo of 3 that I like is going to be killer!

Well I know how you boy mums feel, Iam 110% sure it's another girl! I even convinced myself before I even TTC that it will be a girl so I will not be in shock when they say a girl, my sisters ask about names too and give me suggestions for boy names and I said to them it's a girl for sure so I haven't even decided of thought of boy names..
Yea Im not huge a believer of old wives take symptoms, sometimes people get them all for girl pregnancies or boy but sometimes we get complete opposites..
This pregnancy is very different to my last one, very small apetite,no hunger compared to my hunger pains I suffered with DD. when I do feel hunger around bout that time I feel queasy and nauseas..
Do you guys know when they usually schedule you for the first ultrasound scan?? I'm going Away back to England ill be 10weeks! I wondered if I would have a scan before I leave.

I feel in girl mode for this one, because I swayed I guess. BUT I felt that DS2 was a girl, in fact I was really quite sure... So... Not reading too much into that got a feeling thing. I think it's hard when you want something for your mind not to persuade you one way or another. With my first I didn't have the slightest preference and I really felt he was a boy, which he was. Perhaps being impartial is the only way you get a genuine feeling? And I would expect even then it's wrong a lot.
My symptoms with DS2 were so much worse than DS1. In fact the two pregnancies were very different. And so far this one is quite a lot different too, more so then the others (at this stage) but I won't be reading into that either.
I do find it hard to imagine having a girl in some ways, largely because its an unknown and then also because I'd really like one. But above all I just want a happy healthy baby. I did my best sway so if a boy got in then he earned his place. :-) And its funny because I wanted DS2 to be a girl and oh my goodness he is just so adorable, wouldn't change him for anyone!
Hopefully we all get our dream genders. Statistically at least some of us will so that's something right. But who will it be....???
Who is doing early gender scans? Who's waiting until 20 weeks? And who is waiting until the birth?
And will you guys be nub guessing?
Welcome oxo!!!

Welcome oxo - you are due just before me. I have a girl's name (Emily) but no boys name. We had a few left over last time so might just use one of those as we loved them but didnt want to burden the little man with loads of names!
I don't have a boy or girl feeling yet but will totally be nubsessing! My 12 week will be here in Spain and after that I am not sure what will be available if anything! Yikes I am soooo impatient I would hate to have to wait till the birth. I also think DS1 and 2 would like to know.

I wish I was going to be a nub guesser but sadly I wont get another sono after my 9 week check til about 19-20 weeks. But I will be finding out at that time! Its just a matter of if we will decide to tell people we know or keep it a secret in order to avoid all the comments! I have not made my gender preference a secret after DS2 tho so I think just about everyone I am close to will know how disappointed I will be if it is a boy and I dont want to give them that pleasure! I know I will be happy when he is here (if he is indeed a he) and I wont care what people say!

I'm the same right now my pregnancies are totally different I feel different Symptoms but i know all pregnancies are different. again it doesn't say opposite genders all the time so I'm not even thinking into it, otherwise I know very well I will start over thinking things and making myself believe ( but my sixth sense still tells me it's a girl)
I deff want to go for an early gender scan, ill be in Manchester by then so I don't know if they will give me a date for a scan, so ill prob go private they offer gender scans at 16 weeks.. I'm trying to look into the nub theory alittle

More so I could have an idea when I do have my first scan lol
..I'm still bad at guessing though!
Hello afy how have u been? I feel this pregnancy is goin to be a long one. I do feel its another girl with me. Even dh thinks it another girl. But its ok, i will love her just like my first two. I dont feel sick or have been. Spots have cleared. How did ur first appointment go.. Did the giv u an exact date?

I can't believe I'm only in week six!! I'm so scared of another miscarriage :(
Was hoping that a bit of crying in the Doctors office this morning would mean I could wangle myself an early ultrasound but no such luck! It seems that two miscarriages in a row simple isn't enough for the NHS to put their hands in their pockets. I really don't know if I can hold out another six weeks! I would be even more devastated if bad things were happening now and I didn't find out until the end of June.
Feeling down :( miscarriages ruins pregnancy xx

If you have any cramping or spotting you can self refer yourself if you've had two or more miscarriages...

If you have any cramping or spotting you can self refer yourself if you've had two or more miscarriages...
Both times I have miscarried I have spotted so at the slightest sign of blood I will be up there as fast as anything! Every time I go to the toilet I can't help checking.
Tempted to tell the doctor next week I have some 'cramps' so they refer me but knowing my luck I will jinks myself in being dishonest. I wonder if gas can be mistaken for miscarriage  lol

Thank you 3boys, how exciting!!
Can't you just go to the hospital and tell them you are having cramps or pay for an ultrasound? We have flatrate packages in Germany. 3 scans are covered by the insurance and everything else you have to pay yourself. I am thinking of getting that flatrate but I am afraid DH will think it's a waste of money :-/.

I am good but the dizziness is killing me. Haven't had that with my previous pregnancies. It lasts all day long and I constantly lose balance and run against furniture or doors...wondering if that is normal :-/. And my sense of smell is great I just smelled that My son needed a new diaper even though he was in another room and I keep waking up at night because all the different smells are bothering me.
How are you doing? Charlee is right we should enjoy every minute. I am also scared I might miscarry again but I am trying to relax and enjoy my pregnancy I've been waiting for it so long. I have a good feeling this time, it just feels right.
Hope you will get your scan soon and will be able to enjoy the pregnancy hon :bighug:.

Yeah I know midwives don't do it that early. But I did get it quite early at home before, def before 12 weeks... I just can't remember when!! Hummmm.

I think I have picked up a heart beat on my Doppler at 9.5 weeks before but that was very low down (pubic region lol). It can def be found before 12 weeks given the right circumstances but it depends a lot on where your placenta is (whether it is anterior or not).
Hope you find it soon Hun! :)

At 10 weeks, we still have not shared with family even, but I feel that they should know before work figures it out. I have to ask for the scan time off and am thinking that slight fudging that "we" as in my boys needed a followup appt to not have to tell why I need a patient appt bumped next week. It comes and goes and the worst part is, it is not stopping me from eating!!! What is up with that?!? Dang if I am gonna feel sick, at least I should be able to slow the weight gain but nooo.... I guess my body has its own plan. It literally swings back and forth between nausea and starving half to death and of course I find a way to eat!

I guess my body has its own plan. It literally swings back and forth between nausea and starving half to death and of course I find a way to eat!
Eating for me is all that stops the nausea so I'm eating non stop!! I'm going to look about 6 months gone by the end of the first trimester!

Rabbit congratulations!
Emily, my immediate family already know, haven't yet told DHs family but will soon, friends I think we will wait until our scan at 12 weeks. How are you feeling?
Sick and tired literally!!! But excited too. I think 12 weeks is a good time to tell as you will have see the bean and the heartbeat etc. also, people tend to get bored of waiting when you tell them early!

Hey ladies, how is everyone doing today? I am 7w1d at the moment and anticipating my 1st prenatal appointment coming up this next Monday! This past week, I have started to experience increased exhaustion and some occasional waves of nausea...especially when I am feeling really hungry. With my DD, morning sickness didn't really hit until about 8 weeks, so we'll see what happens this time. Another new symptom for week 7 is constant belching...sooo embarrassing lol. So far, I have only told my best friend that we are expecting and we plan on telling our immediate families after our appointment Monday. If everything goes well, we are meeting my parents and brother and sister for lunch on Saturday and we will be waiting with pink & blue balloons at the table...I can't wait to see their reaction!! For my parents-in-law, we are sending them a package , which will include DD's 18-month pictures framed and wrapped. At the bottom of the box, there will be a wrapped ultrasound picture. I already found a cute frame for it that says " coming soon". We are going to tell them to Skype us when they are ready to open the box because we need to " explain" how the last gift works hehe. Once we get out of the 1st trimester, we are telling the rest of our extended families and friends and are going to make it " FB official".

Funny you should say that tree.... Last night (I promise this is true) I dreamt that DH had a spell put on him and was turned to wood like Pinocchio
A few nights previous I dreamt that some nutter was going to kill me in the local supermarket car park. It was all very strange.
I am a very light sleeper and do dream every night regardless of pregnancy but the hormones def interfere and make them dreams VERY CRAZY!

So ladies.. just a fun question to see what your answers are! For all the boy moms, were your boys from first or second try? Both DS1 and DS2 were conceived first cycle we tried both times. I have several friends with babies and most are boys. All the boy moms (8) minus maybe 1 got pregnant first try with their boys. I know increased fertility apparently sways boy.. so just curious to hear what your thinking. My ONLY hope for this pregnancy to maybe be a girl is that it took us 5 months to conceive and I finally did on a delayed O cycle. Just curious to hear your ladies stories :)

I'd be very interested to know too! DD was conceived the 3rd month of trying ( I also ovulated late this cycle), and this little one the 1st month of trying. We swayed for a boy and a lot of aspects of swaying for blue promote fertility!

Ds1 was a surprise so I guess that counts as first month trying. Ds2 month two of trying but month one of being told we had any chance of getting pregnant following a miscarriage and d&c that went wrong. This one another surprise... We had decided to wait until my cycles were regular to try and figured pregnancy wouldn't be possible with my short luteal phase anyway! Do you think that means this is another boy!?
2 of my friends had girls after first month trying and one had a girl after two months of trying. But then again most of my friends have girls!! I'm the boy maker within my group of friends. :-)

DS 1 was a honeymoon oops lol (best mistake ever!), we tried for 1 year for DS 2 but I didn't realize I had a luteal phase defect-after getting on progesterone we got pregnant on the first try, this pregnancy took 6 months to conceive while on progesterone. Fingers crossed for us!

Smiley I agree. I wanted my mum to know so she could support me. I mean if anything bad was to happen I would want her to know anyway. But I didn't tell her so she could blab it to everyone. No, I certainly don't think this means you're having another boy. DH and I were just talking in the car yesterday the usual about how we don't even assume there is a possibility this could be a girl. I then went on to say that the only thing different this time was that it took us a while to conceive and our boys were first month (with like 10 attempts that month haha). I started listing off everyone we knew with babies, and everyone that got pregnant right away had a boy, and the others that took a few months had girls. That got me wondering if it was just coincidence or actually something to it. I know atomic says that decreased fertility seems to sway pink.. but that would also count for luteal phase defect like you and I both had.. so I still think there is a shot for both of us just because of the defect alone! (that being said I still can't fathom that my body could produce a girl, so I still assume boy!)

I definitely think this looks promising for you then! I had no idea I had a LPD until we started trying so I would have been in the same situation as your DS2 if it wasn't for me decided to chart. I never got it corrected, I just moved O earlier with lunaception by a few days and that's the month we conceived - CD18 O (I always have 28 day cycles). I have no idea if this even helps our chances, but I was just curious to hear everyones past experiences!

I had a question for you ladies I'm planning on booking an early scan once I get to England, would you guys now how accurate it is finding gender out at 16 weeks the place I found offer gender scan fr 16-24 weeks.. But I wasn't sure how reliable it was or should I wait for 17 and a bit weeks? Lol would that make a huge difference?? I just don't wanna have to go to the scan and not be told for whatever reason.

May 17th, 2013, 03:16 PM
I have had gender scans at 16 weeks and all have been right. Last pregnancy I went to a doctor who specialises in gender scans at 13 weeks and even he was correct. I'm sure you will get an accurate result at 16 weeks.

3bkys sorry about your mum spilling the beans - she must be so excited! Just file away how you feel about it so you don't blab when your daughter is pregnant (positive projection going on here) :)
Afy I think 16 weeks should be fine but why not phone the clinic and tell them that you really want to know and ask when they suggest- I think it depends on a number of things including how up to date the equipment is, position if baby and skill of technician. Good luck.
So I peed in a cup for my doctor today who did a test and holy cow those lines came up almost as soon as the strip was wet! Anyway I have about a million tests to get in before we leave here - they love their blood work here in Spain. I forgot to ask about whether I should have travel vaccinations or not. My boys will have tetanus booster, hep A and diphtheria. What would you ladies do? I haven't found any evidence to say that it is safe so am thinking of waiting till the baby is born and staying away from higher risk locations.

I've heard that early it can be heard to tell and just recently read about a lady who was told boy and then it turned out to be a girl. Obviously that was a nice surprise but an emotional rollercoster none the less. I would treat a scan that early like the 12 week scan... Something to guess at but not a definite! Have you had your 12 week scan then?

Started with bloating already - DH and I decided to go for a celebratory meal last night and was so uncomfortable I had to go take my belt off. It looked like I was 6 months gone already. Wondering if it was the one-off fizzy pop I never bother with normally which did it...

Count the first day as the first proper day of bleeding. There is no guarantee that you will O in your normal pattern so get some cheap OPKs and test at twice a day from a few days before you would normally O following AF.
I know this will sound lame, but try to be good to yourself, rest and watch crappy tv with a glass of your favourite tipple. You deserve a bit of indulgence.

I feel awful posting this after bunny's sad news. You are in my thoughts darling x
I had my scan today and baby is doing great. Had a heartbeat of 174 bpm and was measuring a few days ahead. I ovulated from the left. I'm not completely safe yet. The ultrasound tech thinks that regardless of how many miscarriages I have or haven't had that because my previous loss was a second trimester one that they should be doing blood tests. I will talk to my midwife when I eventually get my appointment but I think the most scary part for me will be when the placenta takes over. We will have a scan at 12/13 weeks then again at 15/16. Praying I can get to 16 weeks and hopefully I will be able to breath a bit.

Hi sorry I have been MIA since I joined this thread. I started spotting 2 days after my BFP and was afraid to post and jinx the BFP somehow (silly i know), but here I am at 6 weeks and 2 days and feeling very pregnant! Some spotting here and there but no cramping so i am taking that as a positive! Having Lots of morning sickness and still getting positive tests So I am throwing caution to the wind and want to post in here! I am trying to be "relaxed" with this pregnancy and so far with all this spotting I'm driving myself batty waiting until my first DR appt on May 30th! Has anyone else experienced some spotting and then had a perfect baby in the end? With my 2DS I had some spotting from week 5-8 and i was a hot mess during that time! Dr found a "tag"(that's obviously not a technical term) that was sitting very close to my cervix and was the source of the spotting. No harm to the baby or me(other than worrying) and it was gone by the 2nd trimester! I will be 7+ weeks at my appt and I just want the dr to say everything is going well and it's another tag and no other cause for concern with the bleeding. Ugh hurry up May 30th!
Hope everyone is feeling good! I am reading everyone's updates as we go along and wishing you all the best! :-)

Soar it sounds like your pregnancy is progressing nicely if you are getting symptoms and the HPT's are getting darker. For both my miscarriages my symptoms stopped so I had an inkling something was wrong.
I still havn't had my first booking in appointment yet and I am very eager for that to come through. In all my pervious pregnancies I have seen someone around the eight week mark so I might need to ring them to remind them I am still here. HELLO??!!
Roll on May 30th.... Hope it goes quick for you. Ten days to go. Whoop whoop lol.

Roll on the 30th soar! If they don't want you in till then they can't be concerned. My friend had significant spotting with her second child for the first 10weeks and was a complete wreck. Her doctor told her that this was quite normal (the spotting and the hysteria:)) but she didnt relax till it stopped. Then she believed all the stats about 25% of women experiencing spotting during a healthy pregnancy etc etc.
If you really are worried then muscle in earlier. You are pregnant so you are allowed to be unreasonable- in fact I think it is expected!

Thanks, afy! I actually had an ultrasound yesterday, they like to do one at the initial appointment here:happy: We are paying for a gender reveal scan at 15 1/2 weeks and then my next official scan will be at 18 weeks, the ' big' ultrasound. That's great your appointment is coming up so soon...I know, it feels like it takes forever though! When is your due date again? Mine is December 30, but as I will be getting a C-section this time around so we are expecting baby to make an appearance a little sooner than that. Yes, cramping is completely normal! I had it with my daughter too and now again, only it is mostly on the right side with this one. My OB told me its just the ligaments stretching to support the growing uterus. Haha don't worry I think about my symptoms too all the time...sometimes I worry if I don't feel enough symptoms a certain day or something, but so far I have learned this pregnancy to be very unpredictable and symptoms do come and go.

I know the feeling of cramping!!! I know it's normal but I feel it alot more this time prob because its second time being pregnant..
According to when my last period was my due date is 5th Jan, but I'm sure they get a better estimation once they do the first scan to see baby's growth and how far down it is..
Because Im a twin I'm actually quite panicking because alot of people keep saying to me what if you have twins lol I know it probly means nothing but I've been gettin cramping both sides usually as my mother experienced that with me and my twin sis but not her single pregnancies, and yes good old Dr google i was already doing my bit of research which prob made things more worse lol with dd I only got it left side but I just put it all down to my uterus growin.. I've already started getting leg pains which I got really far down with my 1st pregnancy when I was Alot more heavier.. Well it would be quite overwhelming having twins but I think if rather stick to 1 lol..
If you don't mind me asking how come your going for a
C section, did you opt for it? I use to think I'd opt for one but with my first labour ending up in a emergency c section and even though it was such a relief you get once they give you an epidural, that was total Bliss!! I still want to experience natural birth!

afy, you never know you may be carrying twins:wink: it will be fun to find out for sure! I don't mind you asking at all; I had a very difficult labour with my daughter that nearly ended up in an emergency c -section. I pushed for 3 1/2 hours, but she wouldn't come out. So my ob-gyn had to use a vacuum to pull her out and due to lengthy pushing ( which I think was also in part due to the fact I was so numb from epidural and couldn't feel myself pushing), the use of a vacuum, and delivering an 8 lbs 1 oz baby I ended up with 3rd, bordering 4th, degree tearing ( I tore all the way up to my rectum). It took me months to heal and to this day I still have some minor issues as a result. My ob-gyn has offered me a C-section for this baby because she cannot guarantee it may or may not happen again with this one...there is a chance it may not as every birth is different and 2nd tend to be easier than 1st deliveries, but if it did happen I could end up with permanent incontinence issues and ramifications years down the road. And that's just simply not something I am willing to risk...I'm only 24 and I'd like to be somewhat normal down there by the time I am 40 lol!. I respect that a C-section is major surgery with its own set of risk factors, but I just know out of the two options its the best one for me. What was your experience with a C-section? and are you thinking a repeat C-section for baby # 2 or VBAC?

The more I think about it, the more concerned I am about the timing of my NT scan. If I measure the same as the last scan I will be 13+6 (which is cut off day for doing the NT scan). If for some reason baby is measuring a day ahead of that and I hit 14 they will not do it! I'm really annoyed as I've told them all my dates accurately. Heck I haven't even had a booking in appointment yet or seen a midwife full stop. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow (need to change my ticker) and getting very frustrated.
I'm sure you girls will be fine with the NT scan. I wish us all luck. Glad that your appointments are all soon :)

Call them and tell them that you think there is some mistake. Make it clear to them that due to info from your dating scan the NT scan needs to be moved earlier. Plead or Shout if you have too - hell give me their number and I will shout and plead on your behave as I literally have no shame trying to get what I want!
Spain is similar as I have only just seen the midwife who just took my blood pressure and my details (all of which the doc did). I got her to enter on the system my concern about getting my NT on time (I am leaving at week 13 but they do not know that) so that I will go to the top of the list.
Dreamsofxy I would do the same as you. Ow! You would be so worried during delivery that you wouldn't enjoy the birth anyway.

Lol Iam gettin quite nervous now, but my sixth sense tells me Its just the one..aww gosh sorry to hear about that and if I was in your position I would of without a doubt opted for a csection, because we have to look after ourselves too aswell as baby.. and with it being such a sensitive spot down there, pains like that stick around forever.. My DDs heartbeat was dropping really quickly aftet 2hours they took me in for emergency csection to be honest i had reached the point where I just wanted baby out safe and sound and Ive heard so many stories of csections and how there this and that but if it means the safety of mother and child by all means!
I have to say one thing though when they took me to the surgery room and gave me that epidural woowwwww it was total BLISS lol.. I was lien there having a conversation with my husband and waiting for everyone whilst they were preparing for the csection. Prior to that i was so high off the gas and air and was just being horrible to my sis and hubby lol..
well this time Ive decided to let whatever My body does with the childbirth, since then Ibve been reading up alot about pregnancy and about womens bodies how they have been made to give birth ( the hypno birthing book by Marie mongan is excellent! Im currently reading through that) and how the medical field and alot of maternity departments have intervened with natural childbirth.. its very interesting.. Im not saying No to csection as I have no idea how the labour will turn out to be but what I do want is to prepare myself and body for what its made for and not to be frightened and tense myself up which makes the pain twice as worse... lol Im saying all this now but ill probably be screaming for an epidural.
were so close in age Im 23, soon going to be 24! and according to the due date calculator Im due 5th Jan. But i guess once I go to prenatal clinic theyll have more of an idea.

3 boys, the little jelly bean looks so scrumptious!! did you have a scan to confirm your pregnancy? Im not sure if they will do one for me at my prenatal appointment...
thank god they are bearable but just so random lol makes me jump alittle like its movement .. I know alot of people tell me I could have twins, a boy and girl would be cute. Ouch I did the same I leaned over too far DD kept dropping things and stretched my stomach muscle, its such a sharp pain but goes away..
I payed privately for the scan because I was worried. I haven't even received a booking in appointment yet and they do not Scan you at that anyway. Just a load of questions and pee samples. My next official scan is a whole month away!
I hope you get to see too little beans on the screen Hun :)

I'm so jealous of all you ladies who at about to get your NT test. It seems like forever away for me. Good luck to everyone! Hope you ladies get some great nub shots!!
I just got my beta test results. At 16 dpo it was 170 and at 18 dpo it was 540. Do these numbers sound normal to you guys? I read that it is supposed to double every 48 hours and mine tripled in that time. Normal?
Great numbers!!! :) YAY
Don't worry I'm sure your NT scan will come round soon enough Smiley and mine isn't soon... I have over a month to go :(

Thanks again, all. Have just got back from my break and feel much better for it. is good to be back - exhausted and glad to see my bed again. Diet was a complete nightmare, really going to have to kick that back into gear! :worry:
Got my hospital letter for what would be my first scan. Going to retest next week to make sure I'm no longer pg. I'd imagine I'd need to contact the hospital and cancel the appt, right?

Aww, please don't feel bad - that's fantastic news! Glad you and little one are doing well xx
I'm just going to be damn stubborn and try again ASAP. Will be my first and don't really have tons of time to play with so will be happy with either at this point. Keeping up the best I can with the swaying and all but holiday kinda wasn't as girl friendly as I'd hoped. Oh well...
Have been looking for info on left/right side o - am intrigued and had wondered but had no luck finding anything. What significance does the side you o on have?

Hlmc-baby is so cute! :-) Glad you are both doing well!
I finally broke down today and took zophran! This morning sickness is no joke with a 1 and 3 year old! I could actually function today. Still haven't gotten sick but the nausea will not let up so I asked for it and my dr got it for me. Anybody else have morning sickness that lasts ALL day and night? Got any good remedies? I have tried ginger, pressure point bracelets and keeping my stomach "full", peppermint gum and nothing is really helping. Well I guess it's helping bc I haven't gotten sick but I have been so mean lately and my patients is not good. I feel so bad for the boys! My oldest asked me today why I wasn't talking to him with a happy heart, and I felt so bad he said that and took the zophran. Talk about feeling like a bad mommy! :-/

Maxalon worked as treat with my boys! I as taking up to 3 tablets a day. Vegemite is also my secret weapon - the saltiness helps with the nausea plus it's loaded with folate and other vitamins! So far I haven't needed Maxalon and the Vegemite is doing the trick! Hope it eases up for you soon. X

awww yay you only have 1 more day, Im smirking at how excited we are for our appointments! Mine is next wednesday but one thing thats pissing me off is my SIL invites herself to the appointmet she randomly says Ill come with you too my face dropped, i was like you what? but theres no really need for her to be there and if its not my hubby or sisters there anybody else I get uncomfortable and I just think its quite a private time to be discussing your concerns or whatever to the midwife..arghhhhh so annoying, Im just going to say to her that whos gonna look after her lil one lol.. coz my DDs going to stay with my MIL and she cant look after them both and its not like my SIL has some dire emergency there!!
.... yes I think thats what it is second pregnancy and maybe coz im getting older too lol. Im slowly gettin ready to pack too now havent got long till we go away back to Manchester..cant wait!!
Oh no afy thats horrible! Why does she invite herself lol?! Lets hope she doesnt go with u. I wouldnt feel comfy if my SIL went with me. Not long for ur big trip to manchester!!! So wil u be having ur 12week scan here? I had my appointment.. Still hasnt sunk in that im preg. She will book me in for my scan which will be in June. Cant wait for this! How are u feeling?

Ring them if you feel up to it sweetheart if not.. Don't worry. I'm sure they get that a lot. It is hard to face and they should be able to get hold of your information if in boubt.
Going back on the diet is hard after a loss, it really is. It's hard enough the first time, but even harder when you know you should be pregnant. Take care of yourself xx

Hlmc..... What a cutie. You must be over the moon with such a healthy looking bubs :) can't wait for my baby to be that far along.
Soar... I don't blame you for taking the drugs. When I had Hyperemesis I was on zophran and something else (can't remember now) which worked differently to the zophran but neither really worked. The only thing which gave me slight relief was the anti nausea injection they gave me at the hospital when I went in to be put on drips. It was like.... Instant relief. Felt like cool mint going straight round your body to your stomach and settling it. It was in them moments I realised how really bad I had it. I hadn't not been sick for weeks. Strangely nothing this pregnancy! I hope that means my baby is ok?
Afy.... What is it with nosey SIL's!! Poor thing. The first appointment is all questions and personal history. I don't blame you for not wanting her there. Can DH have a word with her?
Huds... I still don't feel pregnant! I wish they would hurry up and send me through a booking in appointment then I might feel like I'm actually pregnant!

my home has also been badly neglected, don't feel bad my 3 boys!!
has anyone experienced headaches? I am on week 2 now of being in so much pain, the only thing that kind of helps is if I take Tylenol extra strength=[ I know its not my blood pressure since I have my own cuff, I've just never experienced this before with my boys during pregnancy.

I think I remember having them with DS2, but not with DS1 and maybe only once or twice this time around. With my first two pregnancy I had really bad costochondritis (chest pain from muscles) and for weeks on end had to take extra strength tylenol. Both boys were totally fine so if you need the tylenol to survive, you should be okay! But yes, I do remember having them frequently last pregnancy and it's brutal. Crazy how different pregnancies can be! You'd think your body would do the same thing every time!

Moms of 3 or more...
How was your 3rd labour? Would you say it gets easier, or just as easy with each baby? DS1 was a 7hr induction from 0cm so the Dr. thought it was quite fast and I pushed for probably 1.5hrs. DS2 was natural, 5hrs total from start of contractions and had maybe 4 pushes. Just wondering what to maybe expect from the 3rd. I'm assuming pushing either gets faster or stays the same each baby?! I'm hoping to continue the trend with maybe a 3hr labor and 2 pushes ;) wishful thinking :)

Don't ask lol. DS3 was back to back so I had a gruelling 36 hour labour. DS1 was 5 hours and DS2 was about 8. Don't think I'm anything to go by though. The little monster just didn't want to make it easy or his mummy.

hlmcdaniels- Wow, that's definitely some great news! FX you do have a little girl in there! I am a also a member of Ingender and a lot of ladies post their 12 week ultrasound pictures there and people can guess based on nub angle/position. Some members seem to have some experience in guessing the nub correctly, so you may be able to post it there in see what comes up! I am by no means an expert of course haha, but when I saw your picture yesterday, the first thing that came to my mind was girl also based on nub theory!

Ah thats lucky enough that ull get ur scan before u leave. Not sure about the nub.. I havent a clue. Afy i get the same, feeling sick and then i need to eat to make me feel better. I really cant wait for this sick feeling to go away. I would love to book a gender scan. If i did, i would do it at 16weeks. Would that be accurate enough to tell the difference? So I have a question for all you ladies, what was your leg hair growth like during your previous pregnancies and what gender did you have? I know its just another OWT, but during my pregnancy with DD my leg hair growth ( and armpit hair growth sorry tmi) really slowed down a lot and I only had to shave like once a week! This time, for the first 8 weeks my hair was growing a lot faster than normal and I had to shave every day....but now I have hit week 9 and it seems to be slowing down again. I am worried now this is a sign its another girl. I know hair growth and gender is just an OWT, but for some reason I am now convinced its girl and the chances for my boy are gone:( Stupid, I know. All my other symptoms though so far have been completely opposite from my pregnancy with DD. Anyone here have OPPOSITE experiences with hair growth during pregnancies of the SAME gender? or the SAME experiences and OPPOSITE gender? Thanx
