This is quite random but how early did your guys feel the babies movements or any type of flutters Ive been feeling them since 13weeks and I know for sure it's that and definitely not gas! I know second time they say you show more and feel baby earlier on.

With my DD I felt that first poking at 16weeks..
Also which side have you guys mainly felt the earlier movements??

3boys, I'm sorry you didn't hear your desired gender... I really hope you find peace.. Its hard right now but once you hold your baby these things no longer mean Much. I'm sure he's going to make a wonderful edition to your family.
When did you find out?

Ladybugs-Congratulations in your prince! your scan creeped up so quick too! You and 3boys are so brave finding out so quickly! I know you are going to love that little prince so much! Talk it out here if you need too!

Tree-congratulations on your princess! I am sure you are over the moon! Post here so we can all live thru you and your new pink!

3boys Congratulations on another boy! Sorry you didn't hear girl, I went through all the emotions this morning so I can imagine how you're feeling. But a fourth boy, how amazing! I kept thinking that whatever I had, in spite of my preference I was so lucky. A brood of boys is pretty cool and they can all play together. Plus boys are so protective of their Mummy's. I've said it before but I'll say it again anyway... We place so much on gender but actually it's only one relatively small part of who we are. It's our characters that truly define us. I'm sure we can all say that our same sex kids are very different!! :-)

Movement wise only in the last week have I been positive that what I'm feeling is actually the baby (16/17 weeks). I did have what I thought was movement from quite early on but couldn't be 100% certain!

I also read about it on the Internet, maybe I'm just over thinking things.. I know women experience different things.

Rainbow - sorry you didn't hear what you wanted, but I'm sure that new little man is going to be soo precious!! Congrats on a healthy little hub!

Tree - CONGRATS on your little girl!!! I'm sure you are over the moon and that is the way it should be! We're all so happy for you! Congrats and enjoy your shopping!!

3boys - Sorry you didn't hear what you had wanted to either! I know how hard those words are to hear, and all the ladies getting more boys can totally feel free to vent all you want! Congrats on a sweet healthy little man though, so happy for you!

afy - with both my boys I felt movement right at 11 weeks and I was certain that's what it was. DH could feel it too very soon after that. DS2 was also an anterior placenta and I could still feel everything. This baby I didn't feel anything until 17 weeks. I was getting a little concerned as it was so late compared to my other pregnancies!

I'm eating fruit non-stop. Not sure if it's because i'm craving it or if it's because that's all I buy so that I make sure to eat healthy lol!

3 boys I'm really sorry you didn't get your girl, take the time to process that any way you need to, I feel like it doesn't mean anything related to your feelings about your boy, that you may need to grieve the loss of the girl dream. They are separate and it's ok to process them one by one. I know you will get excited in time and he will add so much to your life. Plus boys do love their mums, like, forever, so at least you will be #1 for 4 little and eventually big boys!

Sorry it wasn't the news you hoped for. Xx

I have been so busy i havent had much time to think about anything other than the move. I have had to defend our choice to have a third which has really pi***d me off. Friends should be happy for you shouldnt they? One just told me i was a fool and that i could kiss my career goodbye. It must be the hormones as i wouldnt normally get so upset but she has me doubting myself and what i might have done differently. Grrrr.

Hopefully this weekend's visits will be a bit more pleasant and less accusatory.

Sorry to hear about the annoying comments! I haven't really had many comments, but a family memeber did tell me "they'd go in a deep dark depression if they ever had a 3rd" so that kind of struck a chord with me - I'm overly hormonal and anxious this pregnancy - so then I started wondering if I made a stupid decision and just totally ruined our easy family! From what I'm seeing these days.. it seems the majority where we live have 3.. even with both parents working. I wouldn't say your career is over at all, so don't worry about that! I think for us 3 will be perfect and I will feel complete.. if we had of stuck with just two I would have always wondered what could have been and probably regretted not having another! People are so annoying! For me, this family member who said it would total have another if her husband wasn't so absent and unhelpful. Part of me wonders if people say comments like that out of jealousy to try and convince themselves they never want more... when maybe it's really other reasons that are stopping them!

Tree
July 12th, 2013, 12:30 AM
Totally agree with MRS B (is this ok as a nickname!?) and was going to say the say jealousy!!! There is no need to make horrid comments and I'm sure people just do because its what they want themselves. So many people I know who have two say they would love/would have loved 3 but couldn't afford it etc... So they make the 'sensible' decision and then live with regret. I say if you want more than 2 kids go for it, so long as you can love them and provide for them (in the ways they actually need - people are very distracted by material things that are not necessary, even if they are fun/make life a little easier...). You can make things work! Children are such a blessing. And you know what even if your carer was a little compromised I think it would be safe to say it was totally worth it.
Emily don't listen to other people. You have a beautiful baby growing inside you, enjoy it. And by the way if you were 'too old' you wouldn't be pregnant!! People can be do cruel with their comments. By the way I'm not even 30 yet and most of my friends have told me I'm mad... Apart from the ones who plan on having more than two... Interesting! :-) Be happy with your decision, its totally and utterly wonderful!!!!
Sorry for not being very concise, it's really early and I'm desperate to wee.... AGAIN but want to write first!!

Yes, totally fine nickname :)

Back to where we feel baby movement - If the uterus at 18 weeks is the size of a cantaloupe, and the baby is the size of a large deli pickle (5 1/2 inches) is there any way to tell what side the baby is on? Technically wouldn't the baby be filling up most of the uterus at this stage? I'm feeling strong kicks on the right side, but also little twinges on the left and center throughout the day.. almost like hands punching. This would give me no clue of what side placenta is on, right?

Emily-sorry about those comments!

MSB-I think I am feeling every so light little butterfly movements but I have to really focus on it so I don't know if its really baby. 14 weeks tomorrow!

AFM-I am taking the boys to the water park with another friend who has two kids too! It's suppose to be 101 today. I am sure I will regret this but I want the boys to get to go so away we go! Taking lots of sunscreen and cold drinks and food! Hopefully they will remember this when they are older and take good care of dH and I when we are old! Bahahaha! :-D

Meeks, I wouldn't really worry about the result. I thought that these tests are completely random anyway as they only measure the pH of the urine, so have always got a 50/50 chance of being right or wrong.

I can't help but feel that I am carrying a cute little Clomid opposite though. ;)

Yay for 20 week scans coming up!!! So excited for you ladies!

Intelligender website says from 8 weeks in Australia, I am 9 weeks.

I just can't believe it would be wrong, I've only known it to be right with all my friends, however I don't know any that did it while carrying a girl so I don't know maybe its more likely to show boy?

'They' say its not a ph test, but the colours are similar to ph strips, and if it is, I agree it would be useless. They say it works on a *undisclosed* hormone that is found in women carrying boys in low or non existent levels, and higher for ones carrying girls. I don't know, sounds dodgy since it doesn't specify, but again I only know people its worked for.

At least this way I am expecting a boy and if its a girl at the ultrasound (6-7 weeks away) I will be pleasantly surprised. Swaying only changes the odds it's no guarantee, if dh has 100% boy sperm there would be nothing my sway could do, you know? Even the 62% average success was fine by me, but still means 6 out of 10 girls and 4 out of 10 opposites. I know clomid is higher success for girl at 82% last I checked, but there are always those exceptions. It's just my luck I'd go through all that only to have a boy, which I could have had without doing anything! But it was the risk I was willing to take.

I am ok with 3 boys, in some ways it's easier with clothes etc! But a girl would just be a lovely change from what I've had before. Also ds1 is requesting a girl, haha.

Dream you are right, I am eating a fairly boy diet again, so *if* its a ph test I definitely think the 500ml of lemon lime sorbet I ate last night didnt help!!! Lol

But I haven't gone back to eating much meat. Ironically many of my tastes have changed.

Nita - Wow, you have been through so much to get pg! Glad you're happy with either. :) Congrats!

Emily - What terrible comments! I am so sorry! People need to mind their own business. Don't know of anyone who said, "Gee, I wish I'd spent more time on my career, not with my kids." I do, however, know of people who regret not having more kids! You made the right decision!

Grace - Boo for sickness. Feel better!

MsB - Agree. People are so jealous!

Soar - Yay for movement! How was the water park?

Meeks - I thought Intelligender was just for fun? I wouldn't put any stock in it at all! Especially with the "undisclosed" hormone...sounds totally sketchy to me!

Dream - Totally understand being scared. I am DREADING finding out!

4thTimes & aftmjt - Sending you all my blue dust!! :)

AFM - Nothing new. Still exhausted! About to take a nap, woohoo!

I have my 20 wk scan on thurs DH wants to find out I'm scared now.
I slightly swayed did you?

We did a sway changed diet, tons of supplements and of course timing and ions..... But I also feel like I have another girl on the way, I'm fine with it either way. So I don't want to find out this time actually I had my 20 week scan in two weeks and I post poned another week. So my scan is on the 30th I will be 21 weeks. I just remember I how felt with dd3 when we went in my heart was raising I was so nervous. Do you have any different symptoms this time?

I halfhartedly changed diet, took loads of sups and timing I also used preseed ions I think I managed them lol.
I'd put on lots of weight before bfp which happened first month too, how long before you got bfp?
I had very bad gd when. Found out at 20wks dd3 was a dd, but that soon went when she's arrived, this is our last chance and I would do anything for a ds.
Symptoms wise I'm eating more, skin and hair really bad this time normally great during pregnancy, no had any sickness with all 4, oh I already look 40wks and I'm only half way through lol.
How about you any difference?

We got bfp after our second try, but we were on diet for like 3 months. With my dd's I had really bad morning sickness with all of them and lost lots of weight in the beginning of pregnancy I looked horrible I was so skinny. This time around I only had morning sickness 2 times I have been super tired in the beginning, I have never really had skin problems so its the same but I feel prettier lol with girls I always felt ugly! Lol. Also in the first trimester I had indigestion a lot and burped all day long. My sense of smell is off the hook! If I smell or see something gross I gag. Seems my girls moved a lot more this one moves only on the right side and when I lay down my tummy tightens up hard as a rock. Last dr apt doctor said baby had a good heart rate at 150. But I just know I have another lil girl.

Ill be stalking you on afm on Thursday!
My gender scan has been rescheduled to 25th July. Rather nervous I know deep down its a girl and I'm prepared for it, I think DD would love a lil sister! Either way health is my priority..

My symptoms have been different though I'm not counting on them at all Ive heard of so many opposite pregnAncies and turns out to be Same sex but again for some ladies it's been opposite.. I've experienced extreme gas it's been terrible, and not had much of a apetite when my hunger kicks in I'm ready to pass out and nausEa kicks in!! With DD I was constantly eatingggg I would eat all day!

Anyone else get insomnia with pregnancy ? If I wake up for the toilet it can take up to an hour to get back to sleep and if I'm slightly hungry I have to eat before I can get back to sleep , lucky I have recorded program's on my foxtel .. Baby getting me ready for sleepless nights I suppose xx

Grace-all I want to do is sleep! I nap when the boys nap and then go to bed after they go down for the night around 8pm. BUT tonight I am wide awake! Hope you get some more restful sleep! Insomnia is the worst!

Rainbow-I'm a big napper too now! Geez! If the boys didn't still take naps I would be miserable every single day! Plus naps are good as these will be distant memories once our LO's arrive! The water park was great. The boys loved it. I was not the only pregnant mom there so it made me feel better. Misery loves company! Just thankful it's the early 2nd trimester. I don't think I would have made it in the 3rd!

AFM-We have a rain storm coming through with rain and its 79 degrees! Oh it feels so good to NOT be hot! The rain can stay, although the boys would rather it go!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Excited for all the gender scans coming up this week!!!

Ps I am getting both the tiredness and insomnia. I fall asleep on the couch when the kids are in bed at night, then wake up to pee and can't sleep, feel nauseous and have to eat, then finally fall asleep and ds 1 or 2 seems to choose then to wake up! Grrr

Doubt is creeping in over my scan... 17 weeks is early and despite the sonographer saying she was 100% sure I'm starting to question!! The only pic I got after was one asked for and I guess she was planning on keeping for her own records so its not the best or a very 'typical' shot.12374
Baby to the left and facing the right.
I remember in the scan not seeing anything between the legs on the more typical views you see of this scan. But then I thought well if an ultrasound is a slice of the baby, finer than a piece of paper then presumably things can get missed!?
Just seems too good to be true that I would actually get a girl and so I suppose I can't help but question...!

Tree - I certainly know nothing about what a girl looks like on a scan as I've never seen on myself lol, but that looks pretty girly. 18-20 weeks is when they do anatomy scans here so 17 weeks should be plenty enough to get an accurate gender! But I hear you on the doubt, I can't imagine it either and know I wouldn't believe it if I was told girl. I think that's another reason why we're waiting - if there's a small chance I have a girl in there I wouldn't believe it anyways until I saw at birth!

I'm not sleeping well either. The other night I couldn't fall back asleep for 2 hours - it was dreadful. I've also been having horrible anxiety this whole pregnancy so I got to sleep worrying about something and can tell my body thinks about it all night and I wake up still feeling exhausted! I actually woke up crying from a dream last night.. no clue what the dream was about but man.. I've never been this crazy during pregnancy before. I am so ready for it to be over!

My scan is scheduled for August 4th and I totally agree with you, it feels more real now. I'm counting the days but then part of me wants to cancel/reschedule the appointment just because I'm so nervous and scared that it'll be a boy. I will love my child no matter the gender but I think I also set myself up because all this time I refer to the baby as a her/she. I was at Toys R US this weekend they had sales and I purchased a set of pink/purple onesies. DH kept telling me to buy the gender neutral ones but noooooo my heart wanted the girly onesies. God, I hope my intuition is right other wise I'll have to return the clothes.

Girl moms - Were you exhausted with your girls, or no? I was tired with all 3 boys, especially DS3, but this time I am completely and utterly wiped out...I'm sure it has more to do with age (I'm 36) and the fact that I've got 3 LO's now, but still. I've seen it go both ways with either gender, but was curious on how tired you were with your girls.

Quick question for all you ladies - Do you have dry or wet cm this pregnancy? What about in the past? I have always had wet cm, but I am SO dry this time! Weird! Just curious about your experiences. :)

The morning sickness was worse with the boys but went on less time than this one. I've always had terrible fatigue but its def worse this time and I'm having a girl. I really do feel the fatigue is worse this time but I also have no doubt that looking after two kids is a contributing factor.

This pregnancy I have barely been tired compared to the last two, and barely sick at all, I was super super sick the the pregnancy with ds2 and very sick for the first trimester with ds1. In fact I keep forgetting I'm pregnant! Also my skin is quite good this time, with just one or two big spots. With the boys I had such terrible skin with pimples all over my face and back (unusual for me).

Do you know what, I think *if* there's anything in it at all with differing symptoms I think it's more the change in them from pg to pg rather than the actual symptoms. I know Atomic is adamant that there is nothing in it at all, but the lack of chin hair for me is huge! Not that I had loads or anything, but I always had 1-2 each week and the growth has slowed to a stop now. Weird because I remember looking in the mirror when about 32 weeks with ds2 and thinking he must've been a boy because of the increased growth! Guess I'll find out soon enough!

Yeah I know I really really doubt there is anything in it, because actually my pregnancies with ds1 and 2 couldn't have been more different. I craved different things, carried different, was sick different amounts of time etc. So I agree it can't be all the gender.

July 16th, 2013, 07:59 AM
I think if I can get it straight in my head, what I'm trying to say is that I think there is a little bit in it with regards to gender. However I think that instead of for example, m/s = girls & no m/s = boys it's more like the pattern for you and the difference between pgs.

I had no m/s, increased hair growth, no metallic taste & no cm with both of my boys. This time I've had m/s up to 14 weeks, horrid metallic taste in the last part of the first trimester, loads of cm throughout and really decreased hair growth from the beginning of the second trimester. Who knows, but I'm certainly following my Mum's pg symptoms this time when she was expecting me & my sis. :fx:

I researched the cm thing a bit and apparently you actually get a particular type of cm depending on what trimester you are in so I don't think its presence or not is as such a gender indicator but I do agree with Dreamifpink about maybe the patterns of your pregnancies. I noticed I had no cm before conceiving really compared to what I usually have (took supps but didn't really follow diet) but now I have a lot again.

I think cm could be an indicator but its like dream is saying, your pregnancies compared and what's normal or not for you, rather than one symptom being the indicator between people. If that makes sense.

For me, my cm wasn't so much a trimester thing with my boys, I always had tons of cm due to my boy friendly diet I guess. This continued and got even worse in pregnancy with ds1 and 2 and was consistent throughout the trimesters. This time due to LE I had none leading up to conception and still don't. It may not be a girl or boy sign, probably more of diet and maternal condition sign. They say it sways leading up to pregnancy so it will vie interesting to see if its relevant after. But as I said I think we are all aiming for something different this time so if your symptoms are different to last time it can only be a positive thing!

Dream - OMG, so excited for you!! Can't wait to hear!

Aftmjt - Same for you...sending you all my blue dust!!

Meeks - Me too on cm! I had creamy cm from the get-go with all my boys, and this time, so dry...even though my diet has mostly returned to normal. Hoping it really means something! The thing is, though, I totally had EWCM while o'ing. Like a lot of it. With my old diet, I was rarely ever dry...most of my cycle had creamy cm and then would have 5days of clear, super stretchy ewcm (like stretched 12"+) before o. Once I started LE, cm really dried up. EXCEPT when I got close to O. Got lots of ewcm, but not quite as clear and stretchy. I took antihistamines and a hot bath to try to wash it away before attempt. But after O until now, I am so much more dry than I ever was when pg with my boys. At first I thought it was just the LE diet, but now that diet is more normalized, it's still dry! So, really REALLY hoping it means something!

Kerrin - Welcome! What are you hoping for? And what do you already have? Your scan is so close...yay!

I agree with several of you ladies on the symptom thing. I don't think that m/s means girls and no m/s means boys, etc...but the way each woman reacts to different genders can affect symptoms. Of course, I don't know this one's a girl, but there are several things that are obviously very different this time for me...more acne, ridiculously fatigued, dry cm, high progesterone, etc. I guess we will all just have to wait and see!

AFM - I am getting scared that I might be having twins! The previously mentioned fatigue, but also, I am showing already! (8 wks tomorrow!) OMG, I am not giant, but definitely have a little pooch going already! (And I am underweight from LE.) I guess I will know for sure on Thursday when I go for my first checkup. :)

Thank you ladies. My scan is in 26 hours exactly!! 10.35am British Summer Time. I was terrified but am now strangely calm. I think I've disassociated slightly to protect myself. Already have a plan of attack for afterwards which helps. Regardless of gender I'm going to a new children's clothes shop in town to pick an outfit for the baby then to get a couple of balls of wool so I can start on a little cardigan in a different colour rather than cream, like the one I'm currently doing. I think having my mum telling me how exciting it is - having the scan - made me think, "she's right!!" Still doesn't take away the fear though :D

Rainbow - twins!!!!????? How would you feel about that? Apart from exhausted LOL. Perhaps being underweight has made your tummy look bigger as there is no fat for it to get disguised behind?

Welcome and congrats kerrin.

I am 9.5 weeks (with 1) and have definitely been showing since 7-8. My naturopath said its due to muscle memory, the more kids you have had the quicker you show. I remember discussing this with a very very skinny mum of 5 and she showed at like 6 weeks with the last!

Good luck for your scan dream :) can't wait to hear!

Hi everybody else :)

I'm feeling a lot better this week and ready to face the world again. I've started decorating the babes bedroom (we are going for a jungle theme) which has helped loads. I'm starting to get proper kicks from the little man. Yesterday DH felt him move for the first time. I will have to post a belly shot soon as I have really popped.

Told lots of people now we are having a boy. So far the comments haven't been too upsetting. Most people expected it to be a boy anyway. Xx

Good luck to those having scans I hope you all get your dg , 3 boys the nursery theme sounds lovely I'm sure he will love it , I am moving to a bigger house where all 4 kids will have own rooms in 4 weeks so ill start on bubs room then . I had gotten rid of most things so will be nice to have new things for him :)
Headache today wish I could take ibuprofen its so much quicker for me but panadol will do , crazy dreams at the moment as well , I have struggled with my weight since ds3 and haven't stated this preg at a healthy weight so a bit self conscious , so last nights dream was that hubby cheated with a skinny girl ! So crazy he never would lol .... Hormones eh ?

Dream - Yes, super exciting, regardless of gender! But I SO hope you hear pink!!

Emily - So glad you're settling in in Vietnam. Good luck with your house and doc searches! Scared out of my mind to have twins (that would make 5 kiddos!). Just wondering about some of my symptoms, that's all...I'm 36, so chances of twins are higher. Also, I had o pains on both sides. I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything...I guess all these little things make me wonder...

Meeks - So good to hear. Although, I would say I first noticed the pooch at 6 weeks...but this is #4 for me. I wrote down with DS3, that I noticed my tummy rounding out at 7-8 weeks...so maybe this is normal! I hope so!

Grace & 3boys - Aww, exciting to decorate the nursery! Glad comments haven't been bad and that you're starting to feel somewhat better. Imagine how you will feel when you are holding him in your arms for the first time...ah, bliss!

Big day for me tomorrow, too...get to see baby for the first time, so excited! :)

Rainbow---TWINS!!! I hope it's true! It would be so fun to have someone have twins in this group!!! 5 would be fun! I just had a friend that just wanted one more so she would have 4 and surprise she had b/g twins! Yes she's busy but she posts updates everyday and it really looks like a total thrill ride!

3boys-glad to see you on here! And very glad the comments have been positive!

Has anyone noticed a sudden shift in energy in the 2nd trimester? I am 14 weeks and counting and I am not napping and I stayed up till 11pm last night! It's like I'm super woman! I have missed feeling good! Hope this energy level stays with me!

I'm having that boost right now at 9.5 weeks! Was wondering what was going on!!!

Also, I'm a bit scared of my weight. I don't know if LE ruined my metabolism but I have gained 4kg in 10 weeks! Usually with ds1 and 2 I have lost 4kg by 12 weeks due to horrible ms, but with no ms I have blown out!! Admittedly I am only just now at the weight I was when TTC the boys so I guess I gained a lot but am now at my 'normal' weight. Still, I'm scared for how big I'll be by the end! I only gained 14kg with ds2 so that only gives me 10kg left to go, and 28 weeks. Eeeek at this rate I'll gain 16-20!! Meh I guess it all comes off at the end with a bit of work but after loosing for so long on LE, rising scales is scary.

Myrainbowgirl....twinks would be so amazing, a challenge, but truly a double rainbow....eagerly awaiting your update!!!

Nitaxx and more xx before your name too....welcome!!!!!! 6 weeks will fly by....promise you that!!!

Meeks....weight gain for me has been scary, I know that we all will be working our hardest when our bundles arrive to make the clothes fit better and the scales cooperate. I hope that the weeks fly by quickly so we find out who is hiding in your belly!!! :)

Scans all around....this thread is bound to have some exciting news tomorrow!! Best of luck!!

AFM....my u/s was on Monday, baby boy was so uncooperative and they did not get a good look at the right kidney, so we are returning in 2 weeks for a repeat scan to make sure there are no cysts. It will be 3 weeks before we know what is all up with this little guy...hopefully it is nothing at all.

Weight wise I've put on loads! But I'm eating a normal amount of food and not bad stuff so just think some bodies store more than others in pregnancy. We can loose it after and if it keeps us healthy I think it's best not to worry about!

Thanks so much ladies, your words are such a comfort. Have been quite teary, but having my Mum looking after boys helped as she gave me a big hug but seeing her also made me cry too!! Dh has absolutely no sympathy & thinks I'm being very ungrateful. Just need a good cry & a hug and I'll be fine.

I've waited a long time for him & when I went to bed last night I asked to be shown my baby's gender in my dreams. Whether it was my subconscious or something higher I don't know but I'm so glad I found out and my dream prepared me. Boys are delighted to be having another brother but would've been just as happy with a sister. Just verifies my psychic reading as I was told boy next then a little girl very soon after. I really hope all of it comes true. Just need to find a name now. X x

You must not feel guilty for a few tears, remember they are not for the baby you have but the dream that you don't have. Pretty awesome that in place of a dream is actually another not yet realised dream but one that will bring you unlimited happiness!!

Aft, congratulations on getting a boy, its certainly surreal getting your desired gender! Are we the only two so far that have? And am I the only one so far in the whole group having a girl? It's hard to keep track!

I mean swaying works I truly believe that, but probably more effectively when a dh has 50/50 boy/girl sperm, then of course maternal condition would attract one of the other. You did everything you could with the information available at the time.

One of the downsides of being in the forefront of swaying is that our statistics can't possibly be as reliable as they will be when we've logged thousands of sways. I have long suspected clomid stats to come down, and somehow I feel I will be another opposite. Time will tell.

Big hugs

Dream - Congrats on Ds3! So sorry you didn't hear pink today. HUGS! My Ds3 is just so gorgeous, I honestly can't stop looking at him sometimes. I know you'll feel the same! And, it sounds like you're going to have one more shot? Exciting!

Aft - Yay!!!!!! Congrats! So happy for you! Little boys love, love, LOVE their mamas!

AFM - Had my 8-wk checkup today, and there was my sweet little gummy bear with a heartbeat just flickering away! 160+ beats/minute. So happy! Baby appeared on the screen to be implanted on the left (transvaginal ultrasound)...so we'll see! Also, my doc offered MaterniT21 for me. My appt for blood draw and ultrasound is Aug. 9th. So I should know gender about a week later! OMG!

Thanks, Ladybugs. So, got a little too excited over baby being on the left of the screen. Read a little more about Ramzi, and it turns out, that regardless of the method of ultrasound, the screen image is actually reversed. So, baby would actually be on my right. If Ramzi is true, this is another boy!

So I compared my pics to my other 3 boys, and it looks identical to DS2's pic...but my placenta with him was anterior (not right or left, just right in front). DS1 & DS3's early ultrasound showed baby right in the middle. Sooo, really unsure what to think. Was Ramzi accurate for you ladies?

Meeks - Doc said it would only be $200 IF my insurance didn't cover it. Not sure if she really knows, as it's actually done through a high-risk doc that they refer people to. Maybe I should ask first!!

Rainbow-DS1 at 6wks was on the left. Scan done abdominally.
DS2 at 7wks was on the right. Scan done vaginally.
3.0 at 7 wks is on the right side. Scan done abdominally.

So if you reverse the scan no matter how the picture is taken then DS2 should be a girl! Hmmmm leaves a lot of room for doubt! Hope that helps ease your mind a bit! Glad baby is looking good with a strong HB! Congrats!

Hey can anyone else that's still early feel their bump yet?

I have been showing for a few weeks but this morning when I lay on my back I could feel a distinct grapefruit sized hard ball quite high up (like half way between my belly button and pelvic bone), I thought it was supposed to stay down and hidden by the pelvic bone until 12+ weeks? I was def my bump and I had an empty bladder thanks to being up all night with a sick ds1. I am 9.5 weeks.

Not worried just fascinated! No wonder I had to pull out my maternity jeans.

I am also feeling the odd flutter of movement.

Anyone else? Where were your babies implanted on your early ultrasounds, and what are their genders? Thanks!

P.S. I may be gone for a little while...going on vacation and need to unplug with the fam for a bit. :) Will catch up soon!

Myrainbowgirl my early scan showed the baby to be boy side. But I have a Doppler and found the heartbeat just to the left of my middle. I figured at such an early gestation the baby and placenta are all next to eachother so that was a reliable indication of implantation... I wasn't sure if I believed in Ramzi, it's hard to tell with all the opposing research but then that's all been done by lay people analysing their scan pics with no clue of the angle the pic was taken (apparently this makes a huge difference) and whether it was flipped or not. There was no Doppler research at all, but for me, as I said I found the heartbeat on the left, and sure enough I'm having a girl.
It would be interesting to know if there was anything to the Doppler theory, my prediction is it would be more than 50% reliable if done at an early enough gestation but not by much so plenty of room for error.

The Ramzi thread on ig had a lot of opposites. I wouldn't worry. As far as I know vaginal scans are not flipped but your doc can choose to flip scans to see different things so the only way to know 100% what side is to ask.

I don't think your chances are any less of having a girl so don't worry.

I've been thinking about the whole telling people thing. I think my plan is to tell everyone we will find out at the 20w scan, but have a sneaky scan at 16 weeks so we have a few weeks to process it all before telling people.

Dh's mum has been so at me to have a girl, that if its a boy I feel like announcing to her by saying "well we are happy, but you probably won't be, it's a BOY". But then I know I'm not that gutsy in real life. In my head its such an awesome comeback for all the pressure she adds. Sigh.

I am also too terrible a liar to hide it for long once we know!

Ps with Ramzi I'm not convinced on the accuracy either given that there can be confusion during scans. I asked my doc which side I ovulated from and which side it was implanted and she said left for both. The pic she gave me shows it on the left too so I guess she didn't flip my vaginal scan. However intelligender said boy so who knows!!

myrainbowgirl - I have no idea what any of my babies have been as I've never had an ultrasound between 6-8 weeks. I did a lot of reading of forums etc. the beginning of this week just out of curiosity and it seems like there are so many opposites. You definitely have to ask the tech what side it is for sure as you can never tell by the picture because you'll never know if they flipped it or not. Also, ramzi wrote in his theory that if a baby implanted on the opposite side to what he thinks is supposed to happen (so girl implants on right instead of left) it has a 50-75% chance of birth defects or chromosome problems... which I REALLY don't believe is true - especially from all the opposites I've seen and no one mentioning problems! The whole things seems a little weird so I wouldn't worry!

Thanks for all the input, ladies.

Would love to hear from you girl moms, too!

Tree - Was it on the boy side in the pic, or on the screen? Mine was very high on the left of the screen, which in theory should be my right side. She printed out two pics, & they were mirror images of each other! But on the screen itself, baby was on the left. I think that's why I feel so discouraged! But if the screen can be flipped, too, then I should probably just relax! Well, I guess I should relax regardless, but it's hard!

I was reading the birth notices in our local paper looking for boy names and saw a big one which had 4 boys first then this was a girl they thanked dr potter in USA for helping to have her ! My family friends would be ok about high tech but I wouldn't tell strangers as some still believe its 'playing god' that's why it's illegal here in Australia . I'd do it if I had the money though !

LOL i love it! It is so horrible that we are having to think about how we are going to break the news to other people when it is only us, our DH and our children that we should really have to think about.

A friend of mine announced that she was having DS3 from the word go. Se just said that is what we make:) she confided in me (she knew we were oohing and ahhing about a 3rd) that she would have loved a girl but just couldn't deal with any comments so cut everyone dead with its a boy. It was a boy and i never heard anyone say anything other than congrats to her. She is amazing upbeat about life in general and is ecstatic with her baby but i just thought it was sad she had to prepare herself and others this way.

We found out at 16 weeks that ds3 was a boy. I couldn't bare the comments do told everyone we were team green. When we announced his birth, he was so beautiful and had a lovely name so all the comments were really positive. No one irl bar my best friend knows how much I want a girl. I enthuse every day over my boys and say I'd love more boys (which is true, would just like a girl in the mix). I think if you are really positive about it being a boy then no one can really make any negative comments or they look like a tube. I think as soon as you act a bit apologetic or defensive about it people can be a bit more negative, so I would just be as proud and as happy as you can be x

DS1 was quite low, I never felt a kick in the ribs ever! DS2 was a lot higher and I was always getting rib kicks! I had complete opposite pregnancies so for me I just can't go by symptoms anymore! My friend had a boy first and is due with a girl any day now and both have been so low.. the girl has been probably even lower! Mrs B I totally agree I hVe seen soooo many diff shapes and the outcomes bring different deff one Thing I wouldn't go by it definitely is the woman's muscles and how tall or short someone is and position of baby, it makes a different to how we carry the bubs.. It was weird when I was pregnant with DD everyone would look at my belly and say Girl! It was the shape I assume.

Are you not due for a scan anytime soon? As the days are passing I'm gettig more and more nervous!

The old wives tale here goes (or according to my Greek friend): fat (big) belly = boy, fat bum (or showing wide not front) = girl.

I had to laugh, only the Greeks could put it so crudely.

Obviously I don't think there's much to this but since we were discussing for fun...

I carried all belly for both my boys, from the back I looked normal then I'd turn around and people would gasp at the massive belly sweeping the dishes off the table as I went. Haha. We will see this time!

I carried low with ds1 and high with ds2 because one was head down and the other sideways.

Yea that's the old wives tale I heard, for me it was true with DD I was big bummed and hips were big and I did have a belly but everywhere else round hips And bum was getting wider.. Ill see this time but I'm not counting anything to be true, this time my belly seems to be more out wards and pointier and no real weight gain around anywhere just bump, well apart from the weight I gained from HE diet! HE diet and exercise is extremely successful so I have a feeling you will be fine!

I never did weights myself with ds1 or 2, but I definitely exercised intermittently which apparently is boy style (every 2-3 days) and snacked ALL the time on super high nutrient healthy foods. Never ate much sugar but if I had a treat it would be high fat/protein. Drank lots of fresh juice with orange, ginger, spinach etc and lots of nuts like almonds etc. I never skipped breakfast, ate red meat all the time, and dtd every 2 days for the week around o. I also took all kinds of multivitamins. Basically it's NO mystery why I had boys before discovering swaying!!!

Hoping all the changes I made are enough to get me over the line. If not, there is really nothing else I could do, because I changed EVERYTHING while ttc girl.

I really hope so for you too! How was your LE diet? What did you eat and how much exercise did you do or not do?

My diet when I concieved my DD and pretty much for a long time was sooo under nutritious.. Though I pretty much ate everything minus fruit and veg maybe once in a while. I did cardio exercise like a mad woman lol for upto 1-2hours sometimes on an empty stomach (low
Blood sugar levels) hardly ate breakfast would starve myself so bad to the point where I enjoyed it lol! I over dosed on cranberry juice and remember we were DTD alot as me and DH lived away so once we got together lol no stopping us it was definitely every day and we used KY lube before we concieved and at the time we conceived DD, at the time I never knew it wasn't good for those trying to concieve.
However since I finally moved to states I was eating breakfast and more nutrient dense foods before I even started swaying which was Novemember 2012 I started my sway! Gosh it was an awful long time on the diet but purely becaus DH wasn't ready to try for another up until April time he seen how DD was pretty much alone and as shes growin up she would deff need a lil partner!

My sway is in my signature if you want to have a look. I did text book LE. Low nutrient, low salt/fat/protein. Skipped breakfast, no snacks, long time between meals and small serves. No meat or eggs. Low fat everything. asperinine or whatever that fake sugar is. Fibre daily. No multivitamins, no juice or drinks that added calories. I decided to do no exercise at all because with two kids under 4 I couldn't commit to 1-2hrs a day. The recommendation was do nothing or do cardio every day for 1+hrs.

In the last month I added 1 piece of white bread with jam for breakfast then didn't eat between meals and stuck to plain simple lunch and dinner, if I used veggies they were low nutrient ones. In the last month I also added meat or eggs 3 x a week at dinner, tiny portions, only had chicken once a week and eggs twice. I was so low nutrient I couldn't conceive without that change, because I'd been going 18 months.

I had to take iron tablets because I'm anaemic and if my sway fails I will blame them. Whenever I didn't take them I would almost faint within 24hrs.

I'm forced to have a Caesarian, but with ds1 had planned an in hospital water birth before complications arose that prevented it. Wish I had!! In Aus it's not really allowed to have home births, but we do have midwifery group practices that are low intervention and focus on allowing you to labour for as long as possible at home. That's what I was part of with ds1, but ended up needing a doctor and had to move to the hospital anyway.

Lady bug the outfit is so so adorable, I just love this baby shopping part I think it will prob relieve any disappointment once I find out, shopping for the babe will deff make me feel better.

If you' ladies are interested in hypnobirthing I would really recommend the book by marie mongan it's excellent. I really really want to go natural and just let me body take charge, especially after having my DD with an emergency c section as her heart beat dropped.. And I'm worried I know New York has the most highest csection rates in the whole of the United States and unfortunTely I hve no choice but to give birth there! :( I really wanted to stay in the UK but DH isn't too happy about that.

Waiting for Daisy....my two boys could not be any more different in looks and personalities....lol, I am very curious what a third boy could turn out like!! My DS2 is my tiny blond boy, the oldest has darker hair than I...and looks just like his daddy when he was little. I am guessing that our newest boy is going to have dark hair and blue eyes just like my DS1 :) How similar do your boys look there..Ms. Waiting for Daisy??? Thanks for compliment about the outfit...it cheers me up just looking at his few new to him clothes!

Afy...thanks!! I had fun making the hat....and the shopping is what I really need to do..more so for certain age/size/styles than others....but since DS2 is destroying size 18-24 month pants right now, I will have the right to do some shopping for my new boy!!!!!!!!!!!! As for tips for an easier labour....I think that until you really need to be at the hospital, I would stay at home. That way I was able to complain to DH and avoid those hospital gowns for one minute to many. Of course, I walked everywhere until both boys arrived and had the goal of running through this pregnancy until my right knee gave out around the 9 week mark. Yoga is just not cutting it!! Good luck!!!

I will be having a c section again for the 3rd time. I have high BP when pregnant and I also had a failure to engage pelvis with my DS1 and it was the same with my 2nd. So c section it is for me! I have always wondered what a natural birth must feel like and am a little disappointed I won't get that experience but I know it's best for the baby to have a section since I have so many complications working against me for a natural birth. I will live thru all of you that get to have a natural birth. It must really be an amazing experience.

Happypixi i dont think i will labour at home - probably not advisable in vietnam LOL. Will look into hypnobirthing anyway as there are usually things you can apply to your own situation.

Gorgeous outfits ladybug!

Dreamofpink i played football the day before i went into labour with DS2(only other boy mums will read this and not think that I am mental;)) i really think that keeping active is key to sooo many things in pregnancy and labour - not that most of us have any choice with other children!

For a quick labour Afy my doula friend recommends getting the baby into the right position well before the birth - so rather than watching TV lying down on the sofa get a birthing or exercise ball and sit on that as it makes you sit correctly.

After going 12 days over and having a 48hr labour with ds1 (ending in emergency caesarian), I can honestly say none of the 'tips' did me any good. I think baby will come when they are ready and as fast as your body can handle. I tried everything to bring on labour. I was walking (waddling) for an hour a day plus being consciously active at home and work. I tried sex, hot curry, that horrible oil, watching TV and working on a exercise ball, you name it. All those things did was give me heartburn, a bruised pelvis and a sore va-j-j!!!!
When I finally went into labour (ironically, sitting on the couch for once at 9pm), I tried everything to move it along fast. Walked around pretty much constantly, bounced on the exercise ball, relaxed and used my calmbirth skills (hypnobirth), etc etc. didn't get into the bath until 30hrs when my water broke in bed. Went to hospital at 36hrs and was only 3cm dilated despite being assessed at home by my midwife as being in active labour at the start (36hrs prior). I'll cut the rest of the story out since its horrifying and not helpful, suffice to say it was 48hrs, 2hrs of pushing before an emergency caesarian (at which point all I could say was "no,I think I can keep going" lol).

My opinion is try a few things but stop if they make you uncomfortable. All those things I did only made me feel worse and didn't seem to bring on labour or make it progress any quicker!!

Oh meeks that sounds bloody awful! A few of us joked on another thread that we should start a horrendous birth stories thread as therapy! I went into labour on the sofa too! I have a feeling that the hour-long football match had something to do with DS2s early arrival as i could feel him bouncing up and down on my cervix!

I totally agree the tips are there to help but if it is causing discomfort etc then dont do it. My sister was very late with both herboys and got lectured by just about everyone about what she should and shoukdnt be doing. She was about to murder the next well intentioned 'helper'! Actually that is one of the things i love about my doula friend ( apart from the fact that she is hilarious and sooooooo chilled out) - all her advice is "you could try .... How would you feel about .... Etc) she totally gets that everyone is different and that sometimes we want to try stuff out to keep our minds busy and other times we just want chocolate, the sofa and a movie!

Sounds like a good mix of delivery options!
I'm surprised Australia don't allow homebirths though!!
It is a very special thing to birth your baby, and I do very much feel for those of you who can't :(

For me, the water of the pool made it very comfortable to get into a nice position, and it hurt less when the head was born. Plus, I could reach down and deliver him myself!

Royal baby is on the way this morning here in the UK, hope she has a easy delivery and the world isn't too keen to intervene. Poor girl, labour is hard enough without the eyes of the world on you!

Hi ladies. I just posted nub pics I got from my NT scan. If you wouldn't mind taking a peek when you get a chance I'd really appreciate it:) Not sure if the nub was captured in these shots but I thought I'd post them anyway. Thank you:)

Royal baby... Exciting. I didn't want even my family knowing I was in labour, can't imagine what it would be like having the pressure of knowing the world was waiting! Girl or Boy... I think girl but not sure why.

Urgh sorry to be a killjoy but anyone would think Waity Katey was the first woman in history to be having a baby! I don't mind the Queen it's just the others I'm not keen on. Knowing how long lived they all are though, I doubt we'll live to see this LO ascend to the crown. Still I wish her luck, I wouldn't want to be under all that pressure!

Gl to the royals. Every wee baby is an exciting occurrence but this one will be extra celebrated.

I'm most excited that for this birth, history had been made already in that the law has been changed so whatever sex it is, as the first born it will be first in line to the throne. That law will affect all titles in the country - about time!

I agree but feel a bit sorry for Harry who'll be demoted to fourth in line! I think the Queen has proven that women make a fantastic head of state and the law should've changed a while ago.

Is the gender the worst kept secret or do they genuinely not know? What a shock it'll be if it does turn out to be a boy! Unlikely, it seems. :)

Personally I think they do know, but chose not to tell anyone else the gender. And I completely agree about Harry being pushed further down the line.

Heap of emotions but here I am super annoyed! Short of the story my mom is
Coming up with all these vile names for our 3rd! If its a boy she has all these names like Bath, Barney the dinosaur, and Brick picked out and she thinks its so funny when I sit there and say where are u coming up with these? Her response well if its a 3rd boy these names will suit him fine! Ahhhhhhhh it is sending me into a furious rage! Why, can't she be a supportive mom and shut up with all her stupid insensitive comments? She is just the beginning of the naming I am sure, as my side of the family thinks its sooooo funny all we have is boys! Seriously we don't even know the sex of the baby yet! Ugh if she texts me one more name and says "you know you like it" I will totally go crazy! I'm so over it!

Rant over! I feel better! Thanks ladies!

Ugh...sorry Soar thats got to be really annoying! Hopefully you'll hear pink and put all their comments to rest! A friend of mine (who doesn't have kids) actually asked me recently what I was going to do if I had a 3rd boy! I just laughed in her face and said I guess we'll have to leave him at the hospital LOL! Tell me about it it's been none stop coverage! Don't get me wrong wish them both well, and surprise surprise it was a BOY!! I was so shocked to see the breaking news headlines everyone was so ready to hear girl with all the speculation.. I was just so amazed at her tiny tiny bump!! She looked though I must admit and he was quite a weighty little boy weighing a 8lbs 6 oz..

Anyhow.. I'm counting my days down I have 2 days left till I find out about myself and it feels like pressure from Mum she always says oh I hope you have a boy too! And now with this royal news of a baby boy she was like ohhhhh I pray you get a boy!! Argh annoying I told her either way it could still be a girl which I know it is!
I hvent told my mum about the scan I don't intend to either.

How are you ladies doing when's the next scan coming up?

Soar...your family sounds as horrible as mine...the day they actually find out for sure that I have DS3 on board, I will be mocked. I refuse to even let any of them (sister and brother and wives and hubbies) even know gender right now, pretending that we just could not find out last week when questioned. Now I know that I should not lie, but in truth, we found out gender at a private scan and was unable to determine gender at the anatomy scan last week!! I realize that he will pop out and then we will be fodder with 3 boys and no girls. Lots of hugs Soar....I know how it is to not have the support of either side of the family. (((hugs)))

As for Kate...I am with Dream on it all. I think that Kate will enjoy a baby boy and set a beautiful example of how awesome boys truly are!!!

Ugh Soar that sounds so cruel :( Maybe in her own way she's trying to prepare you for hearing boy? I'm lucky in that I've had my mum and my gran behind my sway the whole time, they would like their first granddaughter and great granddaughter just as badly, I'm not sure which is worse! I don't want to let them down too! :(

I felt slightly nauseous yesterday :/ I've only had a bit of nausea in my previous pregnancies, also felt a bit crampy. Seven weeks today! I guess I should register with the midwife soon :)

Soar & Ladybugs, I am sooo sorry that you have to endure those attitudes from your families. It's totally unacceptable!! No-one in my family has batted an eyelid & all are very happy that this LO is healthy & well. They know that I desperately want a girl still and also for how long I swayed, but all they do is find the positives. I was scared that I'd get mocked for my sway not working but instead they've gone on about how my weight-loss on the LE diet has given me the best pg so far in terms of no spd etc. I realise how lucky I am with my family, it does help to have that support and I wish you both had it too. It's the wider world that bothers me, but I know my Mum keeps telling me that it's only those close to me that matter.

Hi ladies, I've been following this forum for ages on my phone and have been waiting for 5 minutes kid-free to sit at the computer and say "hi"!

I'm from Australia and 16 weeks pregnant with number 3, hoping and wishing it is a girl after 2 beautiful, spirited boys.

We are in two minds about finding out the gender in 3 weeks. I didn't find out with the boys and it was lovely, although I did have a pang of GD in the delivery room after number 2 was born - nothing to do with my beautiful newborn son - just realising the dream of a baby girl was all but gone... until now.

We didn't sway, however we tracked through a fertility clinic. I know by my records, we dtd 36 hours EXACTLY before ovulation. I have a friend who had 3 boys and then a girl by tracking through the same clinic, so I have everything crossed that my "sway" worked.

I also wanted to say (and maybe advice for me if this baby is another boy) that I used to date a man who was the eldest of three boys. The kinship the brothers had was extraordinary. Everywhere they went together they brought a real positive presence with them and they are loved as individuals and looked up to as the "[insert surname] Brothers". 2 of the brothers recently got married and all 3 brothers were in the wedding parties. They also ADORE their mum - which I thought was lovely as I felt their relationship with their mum was a far stronger bond than I had (at that time) with my own mum. I hope my story shines a little light for those who've just found out they're having another beautiful boy. And, hopefully it's my silver lining if my fluttering little bean is indeed a boy.

Good luck to each and every one of you! xx

Welcome Am3A!
Has anyone used (or planning on using) the "tell me pink or blue" fetal dna test? I am debating on ordering it. I KNOW I shouldn't as I have my ultrasound in about 17 days (counting down!) but I'm tempted. Just curious about your experience with it if you used it. I REALLY need to stop obsessing over the gender!!!

Smiley I really wanted to do that but I dont know if its available in the UK!
I have obsessed over gender over every symptom, over every difference from my last pregnancy and still really believe it's a girl!!

Ooooo the waiting kills, is your scan a private gender scan? Mine is on Thursday it's 2 more sleeps away... :worry:

For anyone in Australia this seems to be our version of the gender DNA test. Anyone done it? http://www.easydna.com.au/content/index.php?section_id=117

I am so tempted. It's $339AUD though!

Oh, just saw our one is a urine test. I doubt there is anything in the urine that tells you boy or girl!!!

Wow 2 days! So exciting! Good luck! Can't wait for an update:) Yes mine is private at 16 weeks. Wish I could go sooner! The DNA test would cost $175 USD and I really can't justify spending that but I really want too.

meeks32
July 23rd, 2013, 08:59 PM
Actually the USA one is more like $300USD, because the $149 special they are advertising doesn't include some things, so the next cheapest is $209 but that doesn't include return postage. The only one that includes return postage costs $300+. BUT to get those prices I had to enter into the checkout part and select Australia for shipping. Probably different.

Can't justify that either! At $175 I was temped because that's the price of an early gender scan in my area anyway!

Omg the only private ultrasound place near me (1.5hrs drive) doesn't do private gender scans! Wtf?? How annoying!

Apparently they don't think it's reliable until 18-20 weeks anyway (at which stage you have a scan regardless).

Obviously they are wrong since plenty of places in our larger city (and around the world) offer it at 16 weeks. But those places are 3.5hrs drive from me, EACH WAY.

Waiting in the waiting room for my films and to get one more pic of bubs who appears really healthy at 19.5 weeks , already confirmed its my fourth boy ( which I know from a private 16 week scan ) and the little girl in the waiting room has the girl name I really wanted and have seen everywhere I hate the universe for rubbing it in grrr !
Happy he is healthy but really wanted to be one of the stories I have been reading about on the net where they were wrong :(

Oh grace, so sorry, yes I remember having some hope with ds2 that my scan would be wrong. I imagine with #4 that hope would be amplified. I'm sorry it didn't go the way you hoped, and the universe is sure not making it any easier! That's so wrong! So typically something that would happen to me too, with the waiting room name scenario. At this point all you can do is laugh right?

Not really, my mum has moved interstate again and hubbies parents are too far away too so nobody to babysit, and trust me, taking my 2 boys overnight to the city is my idea of living hell, let alone having to keep them from breaking things in an ultrasound clinic while Dh and I try to concentrate on emotionally charged gender news. Sigh.

Does anyone else feel that sometimes their boys are just so hard to manage? Mine are 2 and 4, having a 'naughty day' today. Nightmare. I have barely sat down, its all 'get down from there', 'stop hitting your brother', 'yes you can play dress ups .... Why is the entire bedroom covered in clothes? Pack that up', 'eat your food, don't flick it/mash it/stick it up your nose', 'stop yelling', 'stop being rude' etc etc

Urgh! Have built them a sheet cubby, played dress ups, you name it, still being difficult and ds1 (who never stops whinging) is whinging extra because he's getting over a tummy bug.
