TTCPink - I totally understand the family emphasizing gender...mine have done the same in the past. Not this time, though...I waited till we knew it was a boy before even telling them we were pregnant! Haha! But, in all seriousness, family's reactions make it sooo hard...I am so sorry you're dealing with this. :(

Bunny - I can't really zoom in, so I don't see anything, but if you see something, you never know! FWIW, I saw two small white lines on one of my little guys' pics, thought it could be the nub, but it was actually his spine. If the lines are lower, I would think spine, if they are higher, I would think possibly nub. :)

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everyone is having a lovely time with their families.

Bunny, I could see the two lines before even reading your post. I am not great at nub guessing, but for what it is worth I think girl.

Sunflower.....that is one nice dark line....praying for your sticky bean and a Christmas miracle like no other!!!!!!!

Bunnywabbit....I don't now much about nubs, but you have one cute baby!!!!!

Sorry for the lack of personals....finally have a second hand to type as she is in a sling, otherwise we are a snuggling duo!

It is a Peanut shell one...cute, but I think that my Moby wrap is better by far! I like having her snuggled up on me, right now she is laying up high on my chest and my laptop is low on my lap to type.

I am content with her being my last baby......I came to peace during this pregnancy with all the concerns about her health. I know that this next year will pass quickly and I want to make sure I savour what I know will never be happening again.

Sunflower....I am keeping it all crossed for you.....that is way darker than my tests were by 15 dpo. :)

Eeee Sunflower!! I hope this is it for you & you have a lovely little pink sticky bean on board! That sure is one strong line for 14dpo, none of mine have ever been that dark. I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you :D

Bunnywabbit, I'm sorry I'm no good with nubs either but you certainly have one cute baby! I can't believe how far on you are, time's flying!

Ladybugs, I just got my first fabric sling & absolutely love it. I have a liberty sling (made in the UK) & can't believe how comfy it is! Isaac loves being in it too. He's feeding very well, although I've had a few problems this week getting him to latch on just right leaving me with a sore nipple. The Lansinoh ointment is brilliant though & I'm through the worst of it.

I think I have found one pro of c-sections over a natural birth :) It's a lot messier IYKWIM after a natural birth as the docs must clean the uterus out pretty well with a section! I think things have finally begun to tail off now.

I'm so in love with my little boy & don't want to put him down. He's sleeping really well, waking around 11pm, 3am then 7am. He's just growing up too quickly! We're sleeping in the front room still as our boiler's not being replaced until 6th January :( It's cosy in front of the woodburner but I miss my bed!

Hope everyone's well & had a lovely Christmas.

Dreamofpink.....nice sling!! I went over and check out their site...what a selection! I found that it was easier just to carry her...maybe I am doing it wrong. Or maybe the boobs are too big....that is what I am thinking, although they are doing their job with the nursing.

I have to agree that is one of the bonuses of a section vs. vag. birth....but I do feel that this is the lightest post birth flow.

Hearing you ladies talk about slings makes me really look forward to using ours again. DH and I both loved baby-wearing DS1 and he just loved the closeness too. We have a Close Baby Carrier (I think it is called Caboo now) and a Rose and Rebellion one (a UK brand). I prefer these types to the wraps as I am useless with wraps and you can pretty much just put these ones on. I tried different wraps too, but discovered that I am just not too good with them.

Sun i'm so thrilled for you, keep up that RRLT and slowly wean off as per atomic's instructions (which I can't remember, but pm her to check if you don't find it). I totally remember feeling the same re belly, and being sooooo ready even for the sickness.

I love seeing the pics too, of bellies and newborns, so keep posting ladies. I love remembering what I have in store, and that my bubby is not far away...

36 days to be specific. Who's counting right? LOL, MEEEEEE I even have it on a chalk board for the kids to see and I change the number of days each morning. It helps them understand because after christmas they kept asking where baby was, since I told them she would be here after santa. oops!!

AFM I tell you what, despite the fact this baby has been a girl on every scan, I am still slightly freaked in case it's wrong, because we now have soooooo much girl stuff (given to us by friends who had their last girls/children) and I threw out loads of boy things to the op shop recently, that I wouldn't use. So it better be right or my kid is going to be the most femininely dressed boy in Australia!! haha. I have pretty much accepted that it's a girl and embraced it, but now feel like I tempted fate and it's too good to be true... surely there has been a mistake. Does anyone else feel this way?

My boobs need their own postcode these days. I went to buy ANOTHER new maternity bra, because all my previous ones dont fit, and the lady asked if I left enough room for when my milk comes in. NO I said, because this cup size (E) is the largest they go to in your store, so they'd BETTER NOT keep growing. haaha. I'm going to have to go to one of those specialty shops if they keep this up. The chest circumference is fine, it's just my boobs!!!

On the upside my weight gain slowed down, as many of you said it would. I've held fast for a number of weeks and even lost weight accidentally when I had gastro recently. So that's a plus. But I have spider veins on my legs now, which I never got with either of my first two pregnancies. Guess they match the stretch marks on my belly, lol. Did anyone have these disappear after birth? or is this my latest child bearing tattoo?

I am still working, for at least another 2 weeks I think. Which should leave me just over 2.5 weeks before baby. I hate that i'm having another caesarian but I will admit the one good thing is knowing when baby is coming, and being able to plan accordingly. Speaking of, I've not even packed a hospital bag yet so i'd better actually DO some planning or i'll be caught out!!

How was everyone's Christmas? We travelled around to see family, had family stay with us, had friends stay and finally my mum arrived early when I called her in a haze of tears and asked her to move her interstate flight earlier so she could come help, because I was so overwhelmed. I really thought the pregnancy card would get us out of travel and visitors this year but not so. Nobody seems to CARE what they ask of us, which is interesting. So next year i'm resolving to have Christmas at our place, on Christmas day and tell everyone to come. If they can't, too bad, we aren't going anywhere and we're not having visitors outside of that day. I don't care who thinks i'm a bitch. hahaha

Our plans for new years eve are *drum roll* NOTHING! Stay home, don't tell the kids its new years, and watch a movie on the couch, preferably going to bed at 10pm. hahahaha

Meeks.....I had only 3 scans that said girl before I was convinced....lol, 19w, 21w and 22w...the 25w and 28w ones cemented it in my mind, but I did not get rid of a single stitch of boys clothing in that time. Even now, I am just now parting with certain things....I have decided that I need to look through what my DS2 is done with and what I want her to wear then. I feel that I only get a certain amount of time to dress her the way I want too...just like I did with the boys. Just trust the scans....and countdown to baby arrival!!! Pack the bag!!!!

Sunflower....I am happy for you!!! A Christmas miracle in the best way....is it sinking in yet???

I am a big boob mess.....only one good sized nursing bra and the moment it gets clean, she pukes up on it!! In the wash again, and I bet that tomorrow before 9am, there will be baby spitup/projectile milk on it. Meeks...I totally get the bra issue...and wish that the engorgement fairy only would visit the ones who want the increase in size!!

I'm starting to get a bit wobbly on gender and wondering if it will come out with a penis... I only had the 20week scan to show girlie bits, though I saw for myself and she was a great sonographer (I hope!) I wish I could look again :/
Yeah I think it's the fact I have girl stuff in the house, something I'd never have dared do before, now it's here it's making the doubt creep in...

Pixi, you look so cute!! Love the pics. And that definitely makes me want to try a wrap for this baby!

Meeks, not long to go now!! I am sure it is hard not to have doubt, but that's your baby girl in there. Enjoy looking at all the girly things and get excited!! :)

Sun, still on cloud 9 for you!! What a blessing.

AFM, 12 weeks yesterday. I am calling the Dr. today to see if I can get a RX for the NT scan. Hopefully I can get in this week and get a good nub shot. Eeeeek! OH I pray my little girl is in there, as this is definitely our last baby. But most of all I just can't wait to know one way or the other so that I can move on. The waiting to find out is so hard! Luckily the first 12 weeks flew by with the holidays. Hoping the next two months until the gender scan go by quickly!

Christmas was nice, but exhausting. I am glad it's over! Way too many parties and too much running around, especially since I am still feeling nauseous and tired all the time! No big plans for NYE here. I think we may take the kids bowling in the evening, order a pizza, and then watch a movie as a family. I'll be lucky to make it up until 10:00!

Hope everyone is well!

Happy New Year, everyone!

I don't think any of you pg with girls have a thing to worry about. So exciting! I, on the other hand, irrationally wonder if it's possible for both Mat21 and an 18-wk ultrasound to be wrong! LOL. No, really, I KNOW he's a boy, but I want to take a second look at my ultrasound this Friday (getting one done to check fluid, as it got low around this gestation with DS3). I actually am very confident that he's a boy and that he is absolutely meant to be. I have learned so much with this pregnancy and through this whole experience with GD (only had it very mildly with DS3)...I KNOW that God is teaching me that I can't control everything and that HE is in control. If I have a girl, it will be because He makes it happen!

myrainbowgirl, enjoy seeing your little baby again today.

3boys and Emily, any news on your little bundles?

How are the new babies and mummies and pregnant ladies?

I had a MW appointment this morning: Not much to report. Cervix is soft, but baby's head is still not engaged, which might not even happen before labour anyway according to the MW. So just going to have to wait it out for a bit longer....

Woohoo... and baby is now the size of a pumpkin. :)

I have been trying to add a pic here since yesterday... still in hospital. Short birth story...lost mucous plug at 3:30 am Dec.6th-..or at least most of it, after a little water leaking at midnight. I did not get the best sleep, even though I tried. Got up and had a shower at 5:30, as I knew I would not be getting any more sleep. Contractions were picking up, so my goal was to get the big kid ready for school and the little to my mom's a bit after nine. I had Larissa at 1:09 pm, in my local hospital, with my MD who had been out of town for two days and got back one hour before I delivered!!! Great vbac...cuddly baby...can't ask for better than that :-)

Atomic...this was my short birth story! It has been 4 weeks and a day since we welcomed her into the world and she could not be a better fit for our family! The boys are so doting on her, my hubby calls her his angel and I am over the moon just cuddling her!!!!!

We have an appointment 6 weeks from now in Vancouver at which point they will evaluate her kidneys and bladder for surgery. I don't know which way it will go now, but she seems to be healthy so far, no fevers yet and just an all around mellow baby.

So happy you got your vbac with the MD you trusted, at the hospital that was closer to you! After all that worry about where you may end up, you deserved that perfect birth! Well, as perfect as birth ever is, when you are expected to get a melon out a hole the size of a banana. haha

Also excited for you that she is super healthy and relaxed. Please do keep us posted on the appointment in 6 weeks. We are all so invested in you and your story we want to keep supporting you after birth too! x

Still no baby and my hopes of a sub 4kg baby are getting less by the day. Midwife who did the second sweep commented "thats a lot of baby in there" today which almost made me cry as i had convinced myself the reason she was overdue was that she was smaller and not putting enough weight on the cervix. I am not the best pusher so was hoping for a easier time this time.

I have just noticed that even the baby in my ticker appears to have a double chin LOL!!! What's that about!!!!???

Went for a 'Dating Scan' on Saturday (was more to check I was ok - I knew baby was well, but was a five minute in-and-out when I went to the hospital so didn't get to ask any questions, so went to check up on me as part of a private second dating scan) and we're having a BOY! Hi Ladies! Can I join you? I found out last week that we are expecting our 3rd baby in September. Had 2 m/c's since May so feeling pretty anxious but hopeful at the same time. Welcome kellbell, you can certainly join us. I hope it's been a smooth pregnancy so far and all is good at your first appointment in a few weeks. It's so hard to make the time pass at the start when you just want to know baby is ok. I paid for a scan at 7 weeks this time because I'd had 4 chemicals back to back and had read if you see the heartbeat at 7-8 weeks the chances of loss drop dramatically. Even waiting until then seemed like torture! I'm so sorry for your losses and hope we can help you through.

First you create your ticker on Lilypie - Pregnancy, baby and parenting tickers. (http://lilypie.com/)

Then copy the link from Forum signatures:
--> Code snippet: PseudoHTML, UBBCode™ and BBCode.

You then click on Settings at the top of this page --> Edit Signature and just paste the link. That should do the trick for you. :)

kellbell, if you let me know your due date, I can add you to the 1st post if you want me to.

We'll ladies just a quick update as it am not home yet. First she said one baby is 100% girl, she looked from each side and could clearly see labia and clitoris. Then she tried to get a potty shot and there was nothing between the legs but after looking for a couple minutes she wasn't sure. She didn't see a scrotum but now I am confused. Here is "her" potty shot, please let me honestly know what you think. Shouldn't we see 3 lines?

Don't have a potty shot of the other baby but it looked exactly like bunnys potty shot. No doubt that second baby is a boy!

Maybe it was just a bit early for the traditional potty shot, but if the doctor said she saw labia and clitoris then I would trust that it's your girl! Everyone thinks so in your ultrasound thread so far! So excited for you Pumpkin! Boy and girl twins will be so amazing! The best of both worlds. Congratulations!!

Pumpkin, I agree with TTCPink. Maybe a bit too early for the three lines. But the main thing for me is that there is nothing between the legs. I would think that this one is a girl.

Pumpkin - that pic doesn't look boy to me! Congrats on your sweet boy/girl twins!

Bunny - Aww, congrats on your little boy! Yes, boys are awesome! So glad you and DH are over the moon. :)

Welcome, kellbell, and congrats on baby!

I can't remember if I asked on this thread or the other, but has anyone heard from BeadinMom? She had 3 boys and was team green...can't remember when she was due. Anyway, just curious if any of you knew if she had her baby, and whether she got her girl or not!

AFM - Doing fine. Feeling fine, back is annoying me, so I finally stopped working out. I have started prenatal yoga (just a DVD), and it is really helping! Can't believe baby will be here in 5-6 weeks! Aaahh, so much to do!

This looks just like what I saw around the same gestation with my girl. The ob showed me and said girl but didn't tell me why so I doubted it. The following scan the tech showed me labia, clitoris and so on, then I believed it! Definitely girly!! My boys had the full package by then!!!!

GeCon my due date is September 14, 2014 but I go for an ultrasound on Friday b/c my hcg level is really high so that may change. I am trying to not be anxious but I had my second beta drawn this AM and won't get the results until late this afternoon or tomorrow morning. REALLLLLLLY trying to stay positive but can't help worrying and hoping that we might see something on Friday. The nurse at my OB's office said with levels over 1200 we should see something - not sure exactly what that means. Of course, I was googling high hcg levels and apparently that could mean anything from twins to a molar pregnancy. I guess I have to wait and see if they doubled today before I really start freaking out!

Thanks for the info about lilypie!!

I am right here with you TTC. Glad to hear everything is good that's all that matters. I can't believe how far the two of us already are I bet the rest of the time until we find out gender will fly by. Your little one looks so tiny, it's crazy how much of a difference two weeks make. At 15+2 we were not able to get the full bodies in the picture . It was so hard to understand what we were looking at and what baby the part belonged to. Whenever we tried to watch one baby the other one would jump into the picture.

I take it as a good sign that we haven't heard from Emily yet, I bet she is cuddling her cute baby girl already. Can't wait to hear what name you have chosen and see pics Emily.

So who is next? GeCon?!

Meeks I don't know if DH will make it to the next scan but if he does I will ask him to film it. I have no idea any more which baby was baby a and which one was baby B but the "girl" is the one who is closer and would be born first.

Did anyone have trouble walking during pregnancy? I never had that problem with DS but this time my hips hurt like crazy. Some days I can barely walk. I told my OB but she has no idea what that could be and I am so scared it will get worse the more weight I gain.

Sun only one more night!!!!! I hope you'll be able to see the heartbeat tomorrow but don't be disappointed if you don't. At around 6 weeks every day can make a difference. With the twins we were able to see the heartbeats at 6w4d but my RE said we might not have seen it a day earlier. As long as you'll be able to see yolk sac and gestational sac everything is fine. Please update us as soon as possible. I am thinking of you.

Thanks, Pumpkin. The photo is actually just the top half of the baby. Not sure why he didn't take a whole body shot. Either way I would not have had any clues since it was not a profile image. Oh well. After being a little disappointed, I am convincing myself that I should be glad that I don't have the opportunity to nubcess. I would probably drive myself crazy staring at it and double guessing it during the next 6 weeks!

Sorry to hear about the pain in your hips. I'm not sure what that would be, maybe they are stretching and widening to support the twin pregnancy? I see a chiropractor and it helps greatly, if that's an option for you. Hopefully it gets better soon!

YES to the pain, it's called PGP, pelvic girdle pain, and I found ob's completely useless in diagnosing it. One midwife told me I had sciatica so they aren't much better. I went to a physiotherapist and naturopath and both said PGP was the issue. I was given a belly belt, some exercises and a list of things not to do. Here is the brief rundown, see if this helps:

- Get a belly support band, especially if carrying twins, wear it whenever the pain is too bad, you may find it helps for a few hours but then feels a bit tight so I took mine off frequently and just used it when the pain was really bad
- Sit on a bit exercise ball at the dinner table or when you are at your desk. This strengthens the core muscles, and stabilises the pelvis, without putting too much pressure on anything that will aggravate it.
- You can google it too, but here are some key exercises: Yoga Poses and Exercises to Help Ease Pain from Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction | Birth Bliss (http://birthbliss.wordpress.com/2013/04/08/yoga-poses-and-exercises-to-help-ease-pain-from-pubic-symphysis-dysfunction/)
- Walking will most likely aggravate it, but *some* people find it helps. Try and see. In my case going for a walk made it much worse, but the other exercises particularly number 12 in the above link really helped.
- Don't get out of the car or up from a chair using the "britney" pose (you know, one leg out first, so you flash your underwear, or lack thereof). hehe. Move both legs with knees together and avoid putting pressure on that middle pelvic bone which can separate and make things worse

The exercise ball did wonders for me, it wasn't comfortable at first but after a few weeks of that and a few key exercises my back and hip pain was far better.

I had PGP with all 3 pregnancies but far worse with ds2, and it was misdiagnosed as sciatica so I was doing all the wrong things to "help". By the end with ds2 I could barely walk without holding onto the furniture, so believe me when I say these things DO work, because I got it earlier and worse this time, and am now 25 sleeps from meeting baby and can walk with almost no pain, which is a HUGE difference to last time.

I also had round ligament pain which you may experience with twins, google that too and see. It's quite painful but nothing to worry about. I haven't found a trick to help that yet.

39 weeks and it appears I have n ow moved onto a watermelon...

And why is it that people feel that it is okay to comment on a pregnant lady's weight?

I have already had: "So you are having twins?" twice this week and "Over the last few weeks the weight has really gone on, hasn't it?" I mean seriously... I have ONE baby in my belly who is a week before his due date... what do people expect?

People are just stupid and unfair sometimes. I have had very similar comments. Also, I find if I wear black, people start saying "oh my gosh you are sooooo tiny, all bump" but if I wear a dress, people say "oh my gosh you are huge, when WERE you due? You are way bigger than last time/me/my aunt's pregnant dog". har har.

Why is it even acceptable to comment on a woman's weight just because she's pregnant???? Nobody walks up to a friend on the street and says "wow, you've packed on the pounds in the last few weeks haven't you?", but they would say "oh wow you look amazing" if a friend had lost weight. In my book its nice comments, or nothing at all thank you very much!!!!

But people do it anyway, weather you know them or not, and it's begun annoying me even if they are being nice.

And for the record, my friends that had twins weren't any bigger than a 39-42 week pregnant lady, because twins almost always go early. Usually between 34-36 weeks, or some "lucky" (unlucky/uncomfortable) ones manage to keep them in until 38 max. So next time someone asks that just tell them where to go!

Firstly, hellooooo there cute baby! So glad everything is healthy and well.

Secondly, WHAT? NO GENDER CLUES? NOT-FAIR! So sorry you now have to wait. Thats really mean of the baby and gp isn't it? lol, but seriously, not fair. On the upside you save yourself nub-sessing. And trust me, even if you thought you wouldn't, you would. Not much of an upside, but you have to find what you can.

Congrats again emily, well done. 32h of labour and 4,2kg?! WOW!

Meeks thank you so much for all the info, you are awesome! At first I only noticed the pain whenever I did get up from a sitting position and it would only hurt the first few steps but no it gets worse the more I walk. When I do too much around the house it gets really bad and I can't walk without holding on to the furniture. I'll try to add in some exercise and see if it helps. Thank you so much!

January 10th, 2014, 04:41 AM
Thanks girls. You are making me feel much better about the comments. But I completely agree just because someone is pregnant does not mean the whole world has got a right to comment on their weight or shape.

As for PGP: I have had it for quite a while with this pregnancy, none at all with the 1st. I wish I had mentioned it on here and received meeks' advice as it sounds like it would have done the trick to help. I have now got the exercise ball out (to get baby moving), but I believe it may be too late to relieve the PGP. And you are right, meeks, I'm okay whilst on it, but as soon as I come off I walk like an old lady. I am the lady who can hardly get up from a sitting or lying position and then having to hold on to the furniture. Nevermind from playing on the floor with DS1. Glamorous and glowing whilst pregnant?... Hmmm, not so much here.

Gecon those last few weeks of pg are always testing without stupid comments from mindless idiots! I hate how people think pg makes your body public property as it were. No-one wants to hear that they look fat - ever!!! I bet you're blooming & look wonderful with your almost ready baby bump.

I'd far sooner have the huge bump than the deflated balloon belly that I have now! Thankfully due to LE it's nowhere near as bad as it was with ds2. I remember being asked when I was due when ds2 was about 2-3 weeks old!

Just a quick one as I am very, very tired. Our little man was born yesterday morning at 1.49am after only 2 hours of active labour weighing 9lbs 4oz. We are all absolutely smitten with him. We are already home since yesterday, but need some rest and sleep, so more info within the next few days.

Yay GeCon I didn't want to keep asking because I know what it's like waiting for an overdue bub but I'm so thrilled he came so fast (assuming you got to hospital in time) and is a nice healthy weight! My boys fed so well and had such strong necks being bigger bubs, I always think it's a bit nice.

Well done and congratulations hon, can't wait to see a pic!

Hi everyone! I started following this thread a few days ago and would love to be added to it. I am due July 27th with my third. We have an almost 4 year old son and another lil boy that just turned one. We unexpectedly got pregnant our first month of trying (took a little bit longer with my first two) so we didn't have much time to sway unfortunately. I am just obsessing over every ultrasound, symptom, etc and can't wait to know. We are doing the gender blood test tomorrow with my first trimester screening, so hopefully I can get a nub shot to obsess over while we wait for the results. Seems like all of you lovely ladies have been/are in the same boat and this would be a great place to have someone else to discuss everything with!!!!

Congratulations Gecon! Looking forward to seeing him:)
As for me, I'm in the final stretch, pelvic pains and all, keep mostly to bed but little dragon-baby(as he feels like one hard strong mobile guy) is wiggling around all the time:) have not experienced such movement before with the boys, and he even keeps me awake, woke at 0230 this morning!! Was a little constipated the other day and pressed a little hard, ended up with my belly button getting very sore. Now I have to hold it "in" all the time! Hope it gets better for the birth!! Snow here, beautiful white and quiet, looking forward to pram walks soon! Hope you all are doing well! Hugs,

Lovely to hear from you Mathilde!! Best wishes with your labor and delivery. Can't wait to hear news of your little guy's arrival!

I wonder if you are getting an umbilical hernia. It happened to me the last week before DS2 was born. Very painful! If you wear a tight fitting cami it helps to hold it flat and eases the pain. Hope you feel better!

I am feeling strong feelings that I am having a a boy. I have been having recurrent dreams that seem so real. First the ultrasound reveal, and all the emotions that went along with it. Then several dreams of me with my newborn baby boy. I feel that my subconscious knows and is preparing me for acceptance. Hopefully I will know for sure next Saturday, the 25th. But, I am feeling there is little chance of hearing girl now. Maybe it sounds silly, but I am just not very hopeful after all these dreams. Regardless of the outcome it will all be OK, I know that, but I dread dealing with the acceptance that I will never have a daughter if this is a boy since I know this is our last. :(

GeCon I can't wait to hear from you!!

I went to the ER today because yesterday after picking up DS I wanted to do some grocery shopping and almost fainted in the supermarket. All of the sudden I started sweating like crazy and my head felt heavy. Then I couldn't see anything anymore, as if someone turned of the lights and couldn't hear very good. I heard a lady talking to me but it sounded as if she was far away. I sat down immediately because I have had that kind of feeling when pregnant with DS a lot and did faint in public a lot. Luckily it got better after a few minutes but in the evening I felt strong contractions which returned this morning. My sister brought me to the ER but thank god everything is fine. Babies are looking great and all the results came back very good. I asked the tech if she could tell me the gender and she said the first baby is a girl but she was on the phone while looking at the second baby. When she turned off the screen she realized that she forgot to check baby B's gender. I did look closely though and couldn't see anything between the legs so maybe even two girls?? We'll hopefully know more on Monday. I feel soooo much better now, it's getting real now that I have been told girl by two different doctors. Oh and the doctor said the 'contractions' I felt was probably just growing pain which is very strong when pregnant with twins.

TTC you are still in!! You had a great sway and I seriously will starting doubting that sways do work if you tell me you are having a boy.

I went today for my first trimester screening and to do the gender blood test. My tech was super sweet and trying her hardest to give me a good guess. I am 12 w 3 days (measuring 12 w 6 d) and hb was 167. At first she thought boy and then changed her mind to girl. She spent a long time looking at different shots/angles and just kept flip flopping. Some shots it looked more up and others more flat. I know there is some stuff out there about 30 degrees and something about the fork at the end (which i do not know much about), but could any of you give it a shot!?!?!? 16316

Thanks, Pumpkin! (and glad to hear everything is good with you lil ones!) I feel like I am grasping at straws and just hoping for pink :/ She said the placenta was left lateral anterior (which according to Ramzi would be girl, but at 12 weeks I am thinking that is too late to apply the theory?!?!)

And, awesome news that another dr. has confirmed that there is a girl in there!! So exciting!!

TTCPink - thanks for your input. It seems so tricky, as my entire pregnancy has so far. Ramzi theory was ambiguous, my symptoms are all over the map. This kid is making me sweat it out. I agree with you, sometimes I htink it may just be too good to be true to get a girl though:)
I put it on the U/S thread, but I think it just gets bombarded with so many posts, that a lot of times it just gets lost in the mix!

I don't mean to give you false hope or anything, but with ds1 I had exactly the dreams you are having, but featuring a girl. Now as we know, he was a he! I don't think it's possible to "know" intuitively, however I do think your subconscious is trying to prepare you for the possibility of a boy, by making you feel attached to the idea of another boy. It's a self preservation thing for sure.

This time I had boy dreams too, and actually still feel a little surreal that it's going to be a girl!

Fx for a lovely healthy bub, and I hope you do get your girl, but if not I know you will be in love with this bub after such a struggle to conceive him or her.

I am so sorry hon, that is a very scary experience and I hope things get better. Did they say why the fainting? Low iron would be my guess, I had the same thing with ds1 until I took supplements. Or maybe you forgot to eat and blood sugar dropped? So scary.

I'm glad there was a small consolation that at least you got confirmation that one baby is a girl. That's all you really needed, just to know at least one is. Now you can wait to the next scan a bit easier knowing that.

I hope you rest up and remember to drink lots of water, dehydration can cause Braxton hicks which exasperate the growing pains and would definitely feel like contractions in that circumstance.

Thinking of you. Xx

Jmm I think the long flat nub in that pic, at that gestation (almost 13 weeks) means it's a girl, but as you said if it appears different here or there in different pics it's hard to tell from one. When do you get the blood test results?

Pumpkin2011
January 16th, 2014, 04:24 AM
Ttc I feel exactly the same. I can't believe I might be lucky enough to get my girl!! When pregnant with DS I really wanted a boy because that's how I've öl always pictured my future family. First a boy and then a girl. That would be just too good to be true and I think I will need to hear it a couple more times to believe. I can't wait for your scan. We are driving to Sweden on the 23rd and I really hope I'll have internet access over there, can't wait to find out.

Meeks with DS I was taking iron supplements so that can't be the reason but the doctors never cared to find out why I kept fainting. I have low blood pressure and think that's the problem. I just can't stand too long. With DS it was really bad, I wasn't able to leave the house alone at a certain point. One day I fainted 4!! times. The doctor at the hospital yesterday was a little concerned about it especially since I almost fainted during the scan. I can't lay on my back too long and during the scans when there is all that pressure on my belly it's very bad. She noticed that I was talking like I was drunk and turned me to the side right in time.

Jmm the nub really is tricky and it's only the angle that would make me guess boy. BUT maybe it makes you feel better to know that the baby who got all the boy guesses seems to be a girl for me. And as for ramzi, both babies implanted on the left which would mean two girls according to ramzi but as for now it looks like there is one of each in there.

Meeks I love all your belly shots! You are all belly, looking great!!

Sun are you feeling any better yet? How far along are you?

GeCon - Congrats on sweet boy #2! Wow, well done with only 2 hours active labor! Totally impressed. :)

Pumpkin - Oh my goodness, take care of yourself!! Yes, be sure to stay hydrated, and make sure you're getting enough iron. Yay that you've got at least 1 girl in there. Woohoo!

TTCPink - I don't put much stock in dreams. I think it's good for you to be prepared to hear boy, but you definitely still have a chance for a girl! Fx for you!

Jmm - Welcome and congrats! I have a close friend due with her baby girl on July 28th (this is pg #5 for her, she was really hoping for a girl after BBGB :)). She did MaterniT21 and found out Tuesday. With your nub shot, I agree that shape is girly, but angle is boyish. So glad you will know from your blood test results very soon. GL!!

AFM - Feeling good, baby looking good, too! Just found out that hubby is going to be transferred across the country, and we will be moving around spring break (end of March). We have been here for 10 years, so moving this time is a HUGE deal. We will be much closer to my family (about a 3.5 hour drive), which I am super excited about. The town we are moving to is lovely, cost of living is significantly lower, schools are excellent...so while at first I was not excited about a move with such a tiny baby, I am getting excited, and ready to just get the ball rolling on all the logistics. Gonna be a crazy time! I will totally miss my friends and in-laws here, but both DH and I are feeling that the move is the right thing for our family. :) Another huge bonus: because it's a relocation, the entire packing/moving process is done and paid for by DH's employer. Woohoo!

Hi Sun, I felt like I showed super early this time too. Maybe not six weeks, but 8 weeks or so! I also felt incredibly bloated which didn't help. By 12 weeks I had perfect strangers asking me when I was due, etc. I guess you show more quickly the more pregnancies you have, at least that is what everyone has been telling me! Plus I think after being on LE for so long it is pretty hard to hide a baby bump! :) Can't wait to hear news on your scan next week!

Ok, so this is so random and normally I don't place much credit on OWTs, but have any of you ever heard of the Iris theory? Something about how you look at the bottoms of your iris (basically look straight up so you can see the bottom of the whites of your eyes) and look for fish hooks? Straight lines with little hooks on the ends that are supposed to be around 5 o'clock a 7 o'clock. I just recently saw this one another thread and apparently, if you see them on your right eye = girl and left eye = boy. If both eyes, twins (and if not twins, then girl overrides). I thought it was very interesting how correct it was for so many people. Any of you that have confirmed gender, is this true? I definitely have them in my right eye and not left (we have not confirmed gender yet, although nub is looking rather boyish). But I know it is for fun and thought I would just see if it worked for any of you guys!!!

Afternoon ladies,

Before I start forgetting things, here is my birth story:

I woke up last Sunday at 39+3 and the day started like any other. Had some breakfast, tidied the house a bit as I figured it could't hurt in case LO would make an appearance within the next few days. At 1:30pm I went to the toilet and felt some water trickling, but not lots like with DS1. I decided to take a nice shower and slowly get everything ready. I also got in touch with my mum to come over to look after DS1. I felt very relaxed and in control. I had since spoken to the hospital who advised me to come in when I am ready to confirm it was indeed amniotic fluid and take it from there. Around 5pm we went to the hospital where they confirmed it was amniotic fluid, the CTG was fine: baby's heart rate fine, but only one mild contraction within half an hour. I was told that I needed to stay in as either way they class the rupture of the sac as the beginning of labour, even without contractions. They also inserted an IV catheter as after 6 hours after the rupture they give antibiotics to avoid infection.

I sneakily went back home to see DS1 again briefly and as I figured there wasn't much point just waiting in the hospital if nothing was happening. Got back to the hospital for 8pm, when I had something like 1 or 2 mild contractions. I was given my 1st dose of antibiotics and the on-call midwife went back home as I was not dilated at all, but she said she thinks we'd see each other again later that night and she'd only be a few minutes from calling her. I was hoping that things would start off on their own as I was told if nothing had happened by the morning, they would start inducing me and I should prepare myself for potentially 2 days before having the baby. :worry:

OH and I were given a family room on the labour ward, basically a room with a double bed and TV, radio... quite cosy really. Got about an hour of sleep before waking up to needing the toilet. Went to the toilet and back into bed when I felt more fluid. It was more of a gush, which is what I had with DS1. At 11:45pm, about 20 minutes after my waters breaking completely, the contractions started... lasting about 45 seconds each, but only about 2.5 minutes apart. The midwife told me earlier that night that we needed about an hour of strong contractions that needed breathing through to open the cervix sufficiently, but from the intervals and strength of contractions I knew she had to come earlier and she arrived at the hospital at around 0:15am. When she examined me, I was already 4-5cm dilated and truthfully in quite a lot of pain. With DS1 I never got an epidural as things happened too quickly and there was no time for it anymore, so I had to go with gas and air only. I immediately told the MW that I wanted an epidural and she said it was probably wise due to the strength of my contractions. She called the anesthetist, who arrived shortly after, but when she examined me again (about 4-5 contractions after the last examination), I had dilated to 8cm. She then proceeded to tell me that she is wondering if giving an epidural would be counter-productive as I had done so well already with just gas and air and she would have to give me something to slow down the contractions for the anesthetist to be able to put the epidural in and if by the time it worked fully, I would already be fully dilated and ready to push anyway. She advised me to stick to the gas and air only and good old-fashioned midwifery. I trusted her and even though it didn't feel like it at the time I am glad I did. At 1:49am after about 5 pushes our little sunshine was born, 57cm long weighing 9lbs 4oz. Although he was bigger than expected I did not suffer any tears. We were then given lots of cuddle time before being transferred to the maternity ward where the wee man and I were able to cuddle up in my bed, which I thought was lovely as we spent the first few hours of his life just snuggled up together. It is possible to leave the hospital early here, but is not the norm as you usually stay in around 5 days, so the nurses and doctors were a bit surprised when I kept asking what the chances were for us to leave the same day. :) Due to the wee man's weight, his blood sugar was a bit unstable to start with, but by late afternoon we were allowed to leave.

Although due to the extreme pain I was in, I felt a bit cheated out of an epidural again and having to do it all on just gas and air, I am glad I trusted the midwife and went with her advice. I realise that my labour was even though short very intense due to my waters breaking and I appreciate that my labour experience was very positive and I would not want to change it for anything.

Sorry about the long essay.

P.S.: I wish someone had prepared me for the afterpains after a 2nd or more birth.

Gecon......I love how you snuck out to see DS1! That is awesome...and so it not having an epidural. I joked before I had DS1 that I really wanted one, but in the speed of my labour made that impossible. With DS2, I did not want anything and got all the way to 10cms without anything, and had my epidural for a csection ( I felt cheated that I had to have the epidural that late and not get it sooner!!).....so this time around, I was elated to have no interventions. Your body is amazing and you will feel so much better long term without that epidural. Your little/big guy is adorable...add him to the list of cute little guys!!!!!

My birth story is also a positive one - it was a long labour (32hrs of strong regular contractions) but a really good one. Drugs in the UK are amazing :) - for a start there is gas and air which i have never tried before and then mobile epidurals!?!?!

I was lucky that they agreed to give me one as i was 7 cm at the last check and the anaesthetist see me for another 20 minutes. The epidural was a weaker one ( i wanted to be able to feel contractions) and was able to top them up myself. i was able to walk around and go to the loo etc. I was allowed to go home the same day (about 12 hrs after we walked through the doors) which we r eally pushed for - the paperwork seemed to take as long as the labour itself!

Anyway i was soooooo glad that I Came back for the birth as things like mec in the amniotic fluid and heart rate fluctuations were dealt with so calmly and professionally I always felt confident and safe.

Here is the end result:)16397

She's absolutely gorgeous and love the name Sophia. DH and I were thinking Sophie for a girl, Sophia wouldn't have gone with the surname as well. Don't not envy the 32 hour labour though - ARGH!

Gecon, you did so well & what a gorgeous little boy you have! Does he have a name yet?

Isaac got weighed today & at 6 & half weeks old he's 10lb 14oz. He's averaging 8oz a week which is great to know! He's definitely lost that shiny newness of a newborn :( BUT he's 'talking' & smiling now! :D

I love all the beautiful baby pictures, keep them coming.

Dream I love Isaacs cute little smile, he looks like such a happy baby.

Emily Sophia is beautiful. Look at all that dark hair!!

Meeks I can't believe you have only two weeks left I can't wait to see pics of little Lexi!

TTC and sun I am so excited for your scans this weeks, hope you'll finally see a heartbeat sun and TTC will find out gender!

AFM, I had another scan yesterday and am totally confused now. My OB wasn't that sure about baby A's gender anymore, the one who had the obvious girl potty shot at 15 weeks and was confirmed girl in hospital last week BUT all of a sudden baby B, the one who was 100% boy at 15 weeks looked very girly. She said it's not only missing boy parts that made her so sure about it but she could see labia and clitoris. I asked her how sure she was and she told me to go ahead and buy some pink but of course I don't know what to believe anymore. I feel so stupid posting this as I feel cheated and like I am wasting your time with my gender confusion. Baby A being a boy and baby b girl would make sense when looking at the nubs as well but I guess I have to wait for my anatomy scan in 3 weeks to know for sure. DH was a little pissed and started regretting that we didn't stay team green but there is no way I could have done that.

Dream, Isaac is sooo cute. Love that cheeky smile.

Emily, thanks for sharing your birth story. Sophia is such a cutie too.

Pumpkin, sorry there is so much confusion about your mini-pumpkins' gender. But I think you are still safe that there is at least one pink bundle in there. Could there also be some confusion between different doctors as to which baby is baby A and B?

AFM, not much new to report. Absolutely in love with our latest family addition and loving DS1's love for his wee brother. He keeps going to him saying: "You are so cute, aren't you, wee baby?"

Two pics to share:

1st one: Left pic is DS1 and right one DS2, I reckon you can tell they are brothers. :)

2nd one is of the wee man sleeping.

I am so out of it! Baby brain is driving me mad! LOL

GeCon- Huge congrats on your little boy! What a cutie he is :) I am so impressed with all these big babies! I think I had the worst birth story and the smallest baby... go figure! Haha

Pumpkin - I can't make out what that is in the scan either :( I am anxiously awaiting news though!! I would be thrilled that you at least have a good chance at one of them being a girl... that's better news than I've ever had! Haha ... so thrilled they are growing well and are healthy though :) how are you feeling? Is a twin pregnancy really different than a singleton?

Pixi- what an adorable bump! You look fabulous!

Emily- I've told you on FB but I'll tell you again, Sofia is so beautiful! I am so happy for you ;)

Bunny- Congrats on your little boy too! I was thrilled to find out my first was a boy :)

Ladybug- So glad we are friends on FB now! It's really fun to put a face behind the people I've been chatting with for years! :) Larissa is just lovely :) FX for good news at your Dr appt!

Sunflower - Congrats on your bfp! Geez I'm a bit late, aren't I? LOL... when is your scan? I am so incredibly happy that you finally caught that egg and I can't wait to start nub guessing :)

TTCPink- When is your scan? I just know you're going to hear GIRL.. but even if you don't I'm here to tell you that 3 boys is pretty special :) Once you look into their eyes for the first time all the disappointment disappears completely and is filled with overwhelming love :)

Meeks- You look so fabulous my dear! Truly a beautiful preggy :) I can't wait to see pics of Lexi! Not long now...

To the newbies welcome and congrats!

AFM, I am enjoying every second of baby Eddie :) My house is destroyed and I can barely remember to put on a bra most days but none of it matters since I look at his little face :) I'll post pics soon... I'm thinking about not preventing another pregnancy at this point... I'm not going to try but I'll just leave it up to god/fate! DH is thrilled at the thought... time will tell!

Pumpkin, it still sounds like every scan has shown one boy and or girl, right? So, maybe it is just the labeling of "baby a" and "baby b" that ha gotten confused at some point? Maybe because sometimes ultrasound images are reversed? Just a thought. It still sounds like you have a girl in there no matter how you look at it, and most likely one of each. When will you have your 20 week scan?

Thehappypixi, such a cute, neat bump. I have a feeling when I get that far along my bump will be very 'obvious' - pretty sure I look pregnant from the back right now!

Pumpkin, I'm so sorry you're thrown into doubt. Is there any chance it could be the cord? I'm not entirely sure that does look like boy bits. Such a shame you have to wait for another three weeks. Hopefully you get an answer one and for all. DS1 is such a cutie! Funnily enough, I can see what you mean about his piccie and GeCon's little one!

Charlee, I'm so glad you're enjoying your little man. Hoping DH decides to try again for your little pink bundle.

GeCon, I was so sure that was picture of the same baby! Spitting image of his brother, so sweet...

TTCPink, I hope your scan goes well. FX for a little pink bundle for you.x

Sunflower, enjoy your scan tomorrow and hope al is well with you and baby. So very little to see at this stage, yet so breathtaking. DH teared up seeing the heartbeat for the first time. Enjoy! x

I don't have much time but wanted to say Pumpkin, this ^^^^ is what I said on the nub thread where I replied. I think ttc pink has it right, likely just swapping labels. Am dying to know though! You have one girl either way hon, go buy some pink! But I completely understand the frustration.

Ttc pink I will be devastated if you are snowed in too! Awaiting both your scan news eagerly!

Charlee its awesome to get an update and I sooooo remember the no bra stage. I answered the door to the postie once with one boob half hanging out "air drying" (I forgot)!! So even when I had my bra on, it didn't seem to help much, hehe. Ps thanks for the compliment, I felt the same about you before AND after birth you made it look so fab. I know it doesn't always FEEL like that, but on the outside you were and are glowing!

Pixi how cute is your bump! Time is flying now!

Gecon your little man is adorable, and he does indeed look just like his older brother. I want a baby with hair!!! Hehe I always get baldy ones, which I also love of course.

Emily, she's so adorable. I'm thrilled for you that all the effort, stress and expense of returning to the uk for the birth paid off and you had such a positive experience, even if it was long. Did dh go back home already? When do you and the kids go back?

How is everyone going with breastfeeding? It's my main concern now, I'm really hoping it goes better, after trying and failing with ds1 (4 months) and ds2 (6 weeks). Of course it will help if we get a baby with no allergies, no reflux, and my stupid fibrocystic breasts don't cause me to get mastitis every few weeks. Sigh.

I'm also to the "birthsessing" stage, where I seem to think about it way too much, and begin imagining all the things that could go wrong. :-/

I charted GeCon. So it's confusing. The OB said I could have conceived up until
12.24 which is impossible since that's when I got a. + frer. I'm confused.
Margin of error is 5-7 days so maybe is ok. I just can't relax. After the twin miscarriage I'm a mess.

Sun, I am thinking positive. If the margin of error is 5-7 days then it was only measuring 5 days off and definitely in that window of error. Hi girls! I had my u/s this AM and I am measuring 7w3days. They gave me a due date of 9/10/2014 and the baby's heart rate was 146!!

Sun - I can completely relate to how you are feeling. I lost two babies in May and August and I found myself worrying about everything this time, I am still worrying. I do think that it's a good sign that your little one has a heartbeat, and that it is above 120. My doc told me that 120-160 is normal at this stage.

Heart rate sounds perfect and I don't think it's an issue at ALL with size/dates. Implantation is a big window even if you know when you ovulated and can more than justify that difference.

Also, in my experience, girls are smaller ;-)

Hi Girls! This is a repeat from Longtermers thread but I know not everyone in here follows that thread. Tonight I will have my gender scan! I had a good cry this morning and a heart to heart talk with my husband. I cried for the girl I want so desperately that I may never have. I'm having a hard time accepting that my dream may end tonight. I was up until 1:00 last night looking at girl bedding and clothes, just wanting to enjoy the last night of having hope for a girl in case we hear blue tonight. I am already in love with this baby, and know that we are blessed, boy or girl. But as only you girls can understand, it's still hard! I will keep you all posted. Should be able to update from my phone around 7:00 or so tonight hopefully. Xxx

Agree with the others, Sun. Varying ovulation and implantation times for different women can lead to different EDD's. Hopefully your mind will be put at rest at the next scan when LO has grown as it should and all is well.

Sunflower.....my DS2 was one of those little wee ones on u/s, he measured a full week behind with the inclusion of any positive OPK on the u/s at 6 weeks, but had made up for it by 10 weeks...which he had gained to catch up and measure on track. I hope your sweet baby is the same and your mind can be put at ease at the next u/s!! (((hugs)))

TTCpink....I hope that the roads are great tonight, so that you can make the trip out and hear pink! As you might recall, I did not hear pink at my 18 week u/s and I was by myself. I drove away from the place, parked in a parking lot and cried. For the loss of what would have been....missing a DD, etc....my hubby let me cry over the phone, told me hold those tears in until I came home the next night (as I was working out of town)....and then let me just bawl. I tell you this for 2 reasons, we do understand the emotions with GD and it was nice that my hubby let me cry it out over the 4 weeks until the hospital scan results. Mind you, after the hospital scans revealed the kidney and bladder issues, I was a crying mess for a different reason! I hope and pray that you hear pink and can enjoy your scan!!!

Gecon....how is your precious DS2 doing? He is the splitting image of your DS1!!! I was so amazed to see the photos side to side :)

Dreamofpink.....your little Isaac is a dream!!! Pm sent late yesterday :)

Charlee.....I do love ladybugs!! Lol, it is great to connect with you on FB and see how cute and big E is! You did have a challenging birth with him, but the end result is just squishy adorable!! I hope that #4 is a sweet surprise <3

Meeks...you are days away from holding your wee girl! I know that the excitement of birth, new addition and all that must be in your mind, but enjoy the newness and fun of a new baby!!

Fifty (50) days have passed since L joined our family and I can't imagine our lives without her. Within the next month, we will have a clearer report of the kidney and bladder issues.

Oh ttc pink congratulations on your healthy little boy, but I'm also so sorry you are loosing the girl dream and I know how you swayed your heart out. Sometimes it's just not fair.

Of course you will love him to pieces and want to know something crazy? I was at the shopping mall the other day and a mum of three boys walked past, they were older say 6, 8 and 10, and I actually felt a bit down. I realised I had so long prepared for 3 boys that I was actually mourning the loss of that dream despite being granted another dream in it's place.

I hope that doesn't sound insensitive, I was a bit shocked at my own feelings actually! There really is something special about 3 boys.

Thanks girls. I am doing OK. We haven't told the boys yet because they spent the night at Grandma's last night. They are going to be absolutely thrilled...both of them have been hoping for a little brother and have already been calling the baby "he" since they found out. I guess it makes it a bit easier knowing how badly they want a boy. I know my mom shares my sadness in knowing that I will never have a girl. This will be her 6th grandson, and she only has one granddaughter. My mom and I are very close and I can tell her anything. So, it is nice to have someone in real life to lean on during this emotional time. My husband has been amazing and supportive and understanding, and I was able to let out a lot of tears last night since the boys weren't here. I feel like I am already starting to come around to the idea of three boys. I just need a little more time to wrap my head around this new reality and let go of the dream. No doubt about it this little guy is meant to be...after all he managed to make it through Clomid, one attempt, and a year of the LE diet to be in our family!! LOL

Thanks for all of the kind words. I am feeling at peace for the moment with the plan God has for my family. My boys, especially DS2 were elated when they found out they are getting a baby brother. DS2 told me "I can't believe this is happening, I have been asking God for a baby brother my whole life" (he's six). Talk about melting my heart!!! This baby is meant to be and we are blessed. I am done gender dreaming and ready to accept and celebrate that I am meant to be a boy mama! I announced that our baby is a boy on FB and I am so warmed by everyone's positive feedback. Some things are just meant to be. I'll pop in from time to time, but I really want to take a break from this site and live in the present and enjoy the anticipation of preparing for my new little boy. Please send me a PM if you would like to be friends on FB and I'll send you the link. I am no expert but if it helps my doc said the baby was 3-4 days smaller than she should have been at one point in my pregnancy and she ended up being enormous (98% percentile in the UK) so if they can get her wrong anything is possible:) if u are at all worried ask the doc as they should be able to put your mind at rest. :)

TTCPink - Congratulations on sweet boy #3! I'm sorry you didn't hear pink. But you are right, he is absolutely meant to be! That's how I feel about DS4, although I can't say that I haven't had plenty of sad moments since then. I know in my heart he is meant to be, but I still long so much for my daughter...we have decided we will leave it up to God with our next one (no swaying or HT), but I am honestly so scared we'll end up with boy #5. I am completely having to trust in God's plan. I wish that I were like you and that I could have been content to be done with #3. But then again, God's plan for each person is different...I am really having to trust Him to provide everything we need for 5 (or more!!) children. Anyway, I will pray for peace in your heart about this sweet little man!

I'm doing ok, ready to be done being pregnant, but not sure if I'm ready for another baby. It's DS3. He is SUCH a handful right now, I just don't know how I'm going to manage it all. My older two will be fine, but honestly they fight so much, I am constantly playing referee. They also still like mom to get stuff for them...I'm thinking I'm just going to have to tell them they will get their own snacks and drinks and blankets, etc., and also just let them duke it out with the fighting! Lol. As you can see, I am nervous about this transition! Since we are moving soon, we did decide to keep DS3 in his crib, and just keep baby in the pack & play. That will help tremendously with bedtime and naptime, so at least I will keep my sanity where that is concerned. No DS3 getting out of bed (for now at least). When we settle in our final place, we'll set up the nursery furniture for DS4, and that's when we'll transition DS3 to his big boy bed.

We are still in limbo about our move...DH's new work team want him there ASAP, but the HR end of things is being slow in processing all the paperwork, etc. So because baby is due so soon, we probably won't get our house on the market till after he's born, and in our price range, houses are moving a little slower...like 2-3 months. So, looking potentially like summer before we move. I hate not knowing, but I kind of have to accept it.

Anyway, that's my update, I hope you are all well!

I can so relate to this post. Our ds1 is being really good lately (usually our "challenging" child) and ds2 is being a typical 2 year old, but its just recently gotten worse, and hes 2.5 now, also easily as big as our ds1 who is 4.5, and almost as heavy (16.5kg). Hes been such an easy kid I knew it was bound to happen eventually, but its terribly inconvenient when 37 weeks pregnant in 40+ degree (Celsius) heat and hes throwing a tantrum, turning into liquid man on the floor and refusing to get on the changing table (hes also refusing to toilet train, but i'm just ignoring that for now, enough is about to change with baby arriving and ds1 starting kinder). I AM SO OVER BEING PREGNANT TOO! But also a bit scared for the caesarian recovery, given its a good 6 weeks of pain and at lest 4 weeks not being allowed to drive. Its going to be "interesting" dealing with ds2's tantrums with all that going on. I am extremely concerned about the transition period.

We are also in the same boat re planning our future and where/when to move. DH finishes qualifying as a builder mid this year, after spending 4 years retraining at a mature age. When he finishes his current work will offer him the same deal they offer all guys that qualify, and its not a stable or good deal. So we are planning to move on, and move closer to the larger town/small city near us. BUT that depends on him finding a better job than the one he'll be offered here, and at the right time, in a place that would be commutable from the areas we would want to and be able to afford to live. Its killing me to not be able to plan where, when, budget etc. Mid year we will have a 4 month old, and 3 and 5 year old, and we want to move asap after that because ds1 is going to be in kinder this year then first year of primary school next year, and I would prefer to be able to give him at least a few months in a new kinder getting to know the kids that will be going off to school in the same area. Or at the latest i'd like him to start school where we plan to be, not start here then move. Its a big enough jump starting school when you havent moved!

So anyway, that was long winded but I meant to say I completely identify with whats going on for you guys and wish you all the best!

To make things fun, dh has done a number on his back, and cant lift much at the moment, which should be SUPER AWESOME when it comes to me having a caesarian. NOT

Crumbs! You guys have a lot on your plates, but I'm sure you are both strong women and will manage amazingly!

I'm very excited now, if not a little nervous it's gonna change sex, but some silly dreams have made that little niggle, thanks brain :/

I'm quite sick of people asking how I'm going to cope! Really, if I'm not concerned, then why are they? Nosey buggers ;)

We are looking to move this year too, I'd move now if I could, I have really itchy feet!

Oh I had the same with dreams/worry of her changing sex AND people telling me I'm mad for having another, or asking how I'll cope, or am I worried. I just used to laugh it off and say "well it's hard every time, but since when was being difficult ever a reason not to do something?". I try to remember nothing worth having ever comes easy. But those people do piss me off when I am caught in a hormonal moment!!!

I am a bit of a moving freak too, with itchy feet. It's normally within a similar area though, and not with the life and job changes alongside!

20 weeks today, and 20 week scan. Little man is on target for growth and all looks well. He was curled up asleep with his hand up by his face so was difficult to measure, regardless of the walking and jumping. Wanted to check for cleft lip and he was snuggled up right in front of the cord and didn't want to move, could only see half of his nose and mouth. The sonographer didn't seem very worried at all but wants me to come back for a rescan in a couple of weeks just to be certain. Hopefully she'll be able to get a decent look next time. Stubborn little sausage...

AFM the placenta was a little on the lower side. Not placenta previa by a long shot, just lower than their protocol. Again, she wasn't worried but they want to recheck, by then hopefully the position should improve.

Well, went to mw yesterday, and no dilation, closed and long as they say here.. But have lately had tonnes of painful bh so something must be going on, today too.. Am 38+5, ds1 came on target, ds2 5 days over, so anything can happen.. Constantly home w sick boys, was a real witch with ds2 this morning due to the pain and stressing to get him to school in time, whilst uterus wanted me back in my bed;) its no fun being on mat leave when you cant enjoy yourself doing things, like shopping and so on.. Cant beileve we are at our end of our travels together.. Quite sad in a way..

My two were both born at 38 +4!
I've been getting so many BH it's ridiculous! Spent all last night contracting every time I moved, brought on no doubt put by the sprint I did down the road as Louis heading toward a main road! Luckily a couple of ladies grabbed him before he got there but you can imagine how I was feeling. Plus running and shoutng 'STOP!!' made me wee myself which Joshua thought was hilarious and revels in telling everyone. :/

Hey Ladies, hope everyone is doing good.
Just a quick update from me as i am still very sick. I am doing my best to follow everyone but am just to weak to write too much.

We had our anatomy scan today and babies are doing great. Actually they are doing amazing, all measurements came back in the higher range. I compared them to DS's anatomy scan and they are bigger than DS was.

The doc was able to tell us genders even before DH realized the scan has started. Most guesses were right, baby A is a boy and baby B is a girl :):):)! We are happy beyond words!!!!

May I introduce:

Our Ds2:

And our DD:

Pumpkin I'm so happy for you getting confirmation of your dd, and ds2! Amazing news, and that little foot is too cute. I hope you feel better soon after the antibiotics, make sure you take a probiotic too (inner health plus, etc) as every time I seem to be put on antibiotics I get diarrhoea after which in pregnancy is horrible!! My naturopath put me on triple dose probiotics when I had antibiotics last and it totally worked to prevent that.

Feel better soon hon.

Meeks CONGRATULATIONS!!! She is so so incredibly beautiful and perfect. Hope you're loving every second.

Emily, mine also come out very chubby! Biggest cheeks ever!

Pumpkin, what incredible and wonderful news. One of each. Perfect, absolutely perfect!! Sorry you're not feeling well, hope you get better soon.

As for me, my little girl is two months old now! How 8 weeks has already passed I've no idea. She has already grown out of her new born clothes, started to loose her baby hair and is smiling. I'm totally and utterly in love with her. I don't even care about the sleep deprecation. Though to be fair, she is a very good baby (touches wood). I do find it a little hard how fast she is growing. And have been thinking since she was born about the possibility of a 4th... At present the thought terrifies my husband so it would be for a little bit. But having previously thought if we had a 4th I'd like it to be a boy I think I'd now quite like another girl. Largely because I want to get more use out of the beautiful clothes I've bought her. Is that terribly superficial?? Of course all that really matters is they are healthy and happy and actually I'd be delighted either way, and anyway we may not even have another... Ha!! Think I'm going mad! :-)

AFM - I am 38+5, a little surprised I haven't had him yet! A few nights ago I had some harder contractions and was feeling pretty crampy, but nothing came of it. Oh well! I empathise completely. I used to want 4 as well but this last pregnancy I just sooo felt done, and now baby is here even more so. I am still nostalgic about never having more but also sure. I can imagine myself in your shoes only too well though and can see how the dream would be hard to give up. That sucks! No other way to put it.

My ob told me my uterus was paper thin, after my caesarian this time, despite the ultrasound showing it was fine. He was so glad I didn't force him to let me labour (he had a few reasons I ended up agreeing were too risky) because he said it would have ruptured for sure. He told me not to have any more, and "whatever you do, don't have twins"! lol think he knows me well. To be honest it's kind of nice to have a reason not to go again, other than just "feeling done".

Hi ladies, he's here!

First contraction was at 4 am on the 19th, thought things were going to really go from there, but it all died down and wasn't sure when he was coming...but it picked up and was very consistent from 1pm on. They couldn't break my water at the hospital till I'd had 4 hours of antibiotics due to +GBS, so waited till then and I was 6-7 cm at 10:30. Broke my water and went from there to 10 in just a little while...pushed 3 times and he was here! Born Feb. 19th at 11:50 pm, 7 lbs, 2 oz, 20 inches long. He is gorgeous, and perfectly healthy...we are so blessed! His name is William David, after our dads.

I had an epidural almost immediately after getting to our room, so labor wasn't too bad...although it wore off towards the end and I was still hurting pretty badly. I must say I do get very intense contractions, even early on, so epis are a must for me! Anyway, I did tear a labia (eek), so a little more sore than typical, but overall doing just fine!

Happypixi - Tag, you're it! :)
