First mother and daughter shopping trip done.....ok, we did not getting any shopping in the big city, but we attended her specialist appointments and tests this last week. Do you all remember the 3% vs the 97%? It is safe to say that she is one healthy baby from that perspective, but the kidney and bladder concerns are still there. She will be on low dose, long term antibiotics in the hope that we will prevent infection for the kidneys as the bladder refluxs to both of them. There is talk of surgery once she is a year old, but that will be hinged on more follow-up u/s and tests this summer. She is truly amazing and I just am enjoying my last baby to the nines!!!!!

Well MaterniT21 says we are having another little man! I am so happy that he is healthy but can't help being disappointed too. There are a lot of mixed feelings b/c I SO wanted my daughter to have a sister and I was really longing for another little girl but at the same time, I feel so guilty for even feeling that way b/c I do have one of each. I should be thankful for that. DH has agreed to not close any doors and we will revisit in a couple years but in the meantime, I am looking forward to bonding with this little man and trying to put the disappointment aside.

Edward James arrived on friday after a super birth(except last hour, naturally:)) dh and i are a super birthing team, couldnt do it without him. Dont you agree that our birthing companions just Get better and better? It is as if he can read my mind.. Only gas and air, 3860g 50cm at 1442 after my contractions started at 0500 and water broke at 0700, snowstorm and rush traffic in towards hospital. Edward is all i can wish for in a baby(except being very blue;)) cries alot, huge appetite, me w slow milk:) breast feeding continuously, and very sore nipples. both big boys are home sick.. Very sad to not be preggers anymore as it is wonderful:) keep trying to Get out of edward wether he saw a sister up there in heaven, but he just stares knowingly back at me..:) will post picture later:)

Rainbow and Mathilda huge congrats!! I love the names! Well done ladies!
I wish we could use names like Edward or Benjamin for our DS2 but we have an Arabic surname and it would sound ridiculous. We are struggling sooooo much with names, especially with boy names. I like Milan but DS wants Darian or Damian wich I am not very happy with. No ideas other than that. For the girl our favorite is Sophia so far but DH also likes Alissa. As for now I don't see us EVER agree on two names :(.
Kellbell, so sorry you didn't hear girl, is this going to be your last child?
TTC how was the anatomy scan? Is everything okay?
Ladybugs I am glad to hear your little one is doing great, you must be so relieved that everything is not as serious as it looked like.
How is everyone else?
GeCon how is your cutie doing?
Meeks and Charlee I am so much in love with all the baby pics in FB keep them coming. Can't believe how cute your little ones are!
AFM I am feeling much better but am having terrible back pain now. My doctor did prescribe me a special belt, hope I will have it by Tuesday as I am having some trouble with my insurance you doesn't want to pay for it.
We are over the moon happy that we are having b/g twins!!! I was so exited to be able and shop girls clothes but now I am doing most of the shopping on the internet as I can't walk very long with my terrible back.

Hi Girls! All went great with the anatomy scan. He is healthy, very active, and no placenta previa which is a huge relief since I had complete previa with my DS1. The boys had fun seeing their little brother. Although, when I walked into the ultrasound room the tech said, "Oh, it looks like you have a little girl in there!" She claimed to be able to tell from the way I was carrying. My DS2 told her "NO, it's a BOY!" I think he was scared for a minute that the tech was going to tell him something different...and I on the other hand had a quick feeling of hope that maybe the 16 week scan was wrong. ;) However, he is in fact all boy, and was happy to prove the tech wrong seconds after she put the wand on my tummy! We are getting excited...time is going so quickly! I have bought a bunch of cute little outfits for him already, and I think we have it narrowed down to three names that we all agree on. It's hard to get four people on board for a name, but I really wanted to include the big boys in picking out the name.
Pumpkin, I responded to you on the Longtermer's thread. Thinking of you and hoping your back pain improves with the belt!
Mathilde, what a gorgeous baby! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing a pic with us. :)

Things possibly moving today! Had lovely full blown clear out last night, bloody show this morning. Getting some regular contractions but not particularly long, like 30 odd seconds every 3-4 minutes. Still think baby is a bit wonky so trying to keep active and do things leaning forward or on hands and knees!

I wrote this out earlier, I did he same father the boys births so I never forget :D
Having had a couple of restless nights I was getting very eager for baby to arrive. Ruth mentioned in a message that inversions might help get my wonky baby into a better position for birth so I started doing a few on Tuesday. I took walk afterwards with the boys to the park, bought lots of fresh fruit in sainsburys and sat and munched my way through a pineapple, half a tub of raspberries and the same of blueberries, and a banana! That night I got the clear out, whether it was the fruit or happened anyway, I don't know! Maybe the fruit helped get things started with the inversions?!
So, another night tossing and turning, got up for a wee in the morning and noted bloody show. Never noticed with the boys, but this was quite a lot of bloody goo which came away over a few hours. I've been getting braxton hicks so regularly the last few weeks it took a while to decide my tightening were labour contractions. I called Mark at 10am to come home, even though I wasn't 100% sure things would move that quickly. We blitzed the house! Cleaned everything, fed the boys lunch, got ourselves all set then took the boys to the little park next to our house. I came home before them and tried to rest a little, contractions were coming every 5 minutes or so. When Mark got in I took a bath, that sped things up a bit and contractions were about 3 minutes. I lost track of time after that, I told Mark to feed the boys, bit of a communication break down and he ended up walking to ASDA and buying pizza! During that time I decided I needed to call people, called my mum and got her to come, called Mark and said hurry up, called midwife when Mark got home and said please come, but I think I might ave left it a bit late! Mark blew up the pool but never got time to fill it. My Mum arrived just in time. I had been pacing the garden feeling very intense contractions, I knew I had hit the second stage and could feel her head coming down with every breath. My waters popped in the garden, from that point I knew I had probably two contractions and she would be here! I headed in and asked for a towel, got on all fours and told Mark to wash his hands because he was going to catch a baby! It was three contractions, Mark did a good job not dropping wet slimy baby! The boys were with my Mum just stood by looking on :)
It was amazing! I'd always wanted to birth naturally, and this was just so natural and empowering just with my family around me. Mark had phoned for an ambulance just incase, they arrived 45 minutes after birth, minutes before the midwife! I was sat on the floor draped in towels when three paramedics and two midwives arrived! Needless to say paramedics were dispensed with quickly. I'd sat with the cord connecting us for an hour when the midwives said to give a little push and the placenta slipped out easily into a kidney dish, ready for encapsulation! We tied the cord ties on and Mark cut the crunchy cord.
I think I left it so long as my first stage contractions just weren't painful, I was waiting for it to feel more intense. Walking, leaning forward and relaxing my uterus during contraction, breathing and rocking my pelvis all made the contractions just brief tightenings.

I'm not sure what's wrong with me... If it's because I've got a girl, and she is already three months.., or perhaps because her birth was so smooth, or perhaps just because we may not have anymore babies but I'm soooo broody. Right now there is no question in my mind, I'd love to have another baby. Am I mad!? Think I'd like to sway again for another girl, I think I'd prefer to have another girl but the fact that I have one now means I wouldn't mind another boy. But 4 kids!! Is that loads!? Is it even manageable... Crazy huh. :-)

Posted on another thread, but went for a 4D bonding scan today for the four grandparents to meet the little one and find out the gender. They're over the moon!
Our little man - 25+4. He measures exactly on target (well, the sonographer said she estimated 25+5 but is so little in it) and weighing at 1lb 15oz. A little sleepy but quite a thinker - spent most of the scan resting his chin on his fist. He even opened his eyes for a little which I really wasn't expecting until at least next week! I think for now he takes after daddy...

Happypixi - Congrats, she is gorgeous! And wow, what a great story!!
Tree - I don't think 4 is loads, but then again, I plan on 5! ;;) Funny you should say that, because about a week after ds4 was born, I was totally excited thinking about doing it again...I have decided that I loooove the newborn stage. They are just so beautiful & sweet & innocent. I even felt that it would have been totally strange if he was a girl, and grateful that he's a boy! (Not that I don't want a girl, because I am praying hard for #5 to be my girl.) Just happy that ds4 is who he is, and feeling it would be ok if the next one's another boy. :)
Dream - Will you have TWO more?? I hope so!! :)

The joke's on her with an attitude like that! I can't bear such smug small-minded people. She's missing out on so much that she'll never know about, just remember that! I have a friend with 5 boys & they're wonderful kids. I also know plenty of people with a PP & their two can often be worse behaved & spoilt. Keep on enjoying your unique family dynamic & ignore fools like that.
