Don't worry, zanacal - I'm subscribed to this thread, so even if I get a BFP, I'll still be reading your entries and cheering you on. I think it'll be a while before I can eat freely without worrying about how much protein and sodium are in everything!
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 6 of ds's fries (I brought him to a fast food restaurant for lunch and was quite proud of myself for not ordering myself anything. I think I showed great restraint only eating 6 of his fries too!), 1/2 swiss cheese sandwich, non-fat yogurt, strawberries
Supper: rice pasta with unsalted butter, zucchini and leeks + parmesan, 2 fruit creme cookies for dessert. I finally got a digital kitchen scale today and so was able to see exactly what a serving of parmesan looks like (28-30g, depending on the brand)...I was pleased to see that it's actually way more than I've been eating, so tonight's pasta was much yummier than usual.
Snack: Strawberries, low fat vanilla frozen yogurt
Calories: 1233
Fat: 43.1
Protein: 37.1
Sodium: 717.6
Thursday is the last day of school for my twins, and a fellow Mom and I are going to bring our kids out for lunch. I've been studying the menu of the fast food restaurant we're thinking of going to to try to find something I can order. I think I may just get a small fries (250 sodium) and eat the rest of my lunch when I get home. I've been contemplating cheating, but I'll be 7dpo then and pretty close to testing, so I think I should try to make it until then. We'll see how I do when faced with a table full of people eating salty food.... Speaking of cheating, I think I've decided that if I get a BFN, I'm going to indulge in one big meal as a treat to myself on the day af appears...just to help keep me from getting depressed and to give me energy to continue the diet for another month. It'll make me dread af a little less if I know I'll get a treat when it arrives.

I had thought of doing similar when the time comes mochagirl, I think it's a great idea :D
I forgot to take my lunch to work today! So I ended up with this:
Skimmed milk for coffees
Lunch (turned into snack): packet of Skittles, Trancetto (some Italian cake like thing with jam and yogurt in the middle!)
Snack (ate my lunch when I got home!): Warburtons thin with slice of low fat cheese, Organix sweetcorn rings, 3/4 of the Trancetto DS didn't like/eat!
Dinner will be: Spaghetti with kids tomato/veg sauce and parmesan, strawberries, glass of milk

I think we should all treat ourselves if we get a BFN. It'll make it a little less heartbreaking and I'm sure one day of cheating won't matter.
I hope you O ASAP, swish! It's so weird that we both got af on the same day (if I remember correctly), yet here I am 6dpo and you haven't even O'd yet! The funny thing is, if we both get a BFP we'll have the same due date!

So the weekend we went to NV I gained 5lbs but since being home again I have lost 10lbs. Replacing my 11am sandwich with rice cereal and fruit is working a little to fast but I am happy because I am over weight and can loose up to 30 more lbs without being underweight. I have a very small frame and my butt is huge and I would love to loose it.
For the passed 5days I have had 1/2 gallon of Crystal Light a day, 3 diet caff-free sodas, 2cp coffee with aspartame and coffeemate, 1/2 gallon of water, 2cps of rice cereal w/ 1/2cp of rice milk and about 1/2cp of fruit for lunch, and for dinner I eat 3-4oz of protein and veggies. I am not sticking to girl friendly veggies or fruits but I alternate the type I eat each day (d1 carrots, d2-d4 light green) and I try to eat low sugar fruits for 3-4days and then maybe 1day of a sweeter fruit. I stopped carbs because it was raising my blood sugar to much and I hadden lost any weight during the 2 wks I ate carbs with lunch.
I am not eating anything before bed but I drink some crystal light with some vitamins and it helps a little but I am a little hungry. I noticed that I am loosing weight faster because I wait until I feel like I am starving before meals and then I try to limit the amount that I eat. If I don't get a BFP I am going to continue to eat this way and maybe I can loose a lot more weight.

Here's today:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: swiss cheese sandwich (I'm starting to really enjoy these), rice milk, strawberries
Supper: rice pasta with butternut squash and parmesan, Rice Krispie square for dessert
Snack: strawberries, salt & vinegar Pop Chips (I couldn't resist them anymore, even though they brought me very slightly above my sodium limit), Nibs
Calories: 1571
Protein: 37g
Sodium: 1089mg
I've felt dizzy all day like my blood sugar was way too low. I was starved even after eating each of my two meals, and I can't seem to stop snacking tonight. I'm hoping this is a sign I could be pregnant.

Oh man! you ladies are doing soooo well, i have so much trouble trying to work out what is good and bad! :( i have dinner cooking at moment and it smells way to yummy, its a roast chicken, im taking part of the chicken and adding lettuce and pasta to make a salad with a homemade yoghurt dressing, but the rest of the family are having mashed tatties carrots, pumpkin and gravy, if i start eaating any of it i wont stop! i have been skipping brekky for the last 2 weeks (easy i have found) and eating at 12, today i was really hungry so had cruskit craackerss which had 98 for sodium per serve so i had 4 of those with lowfat cheese and cucumber on the top, then at 3pm had a small lowfat yoghurt, im not good at reading the label thingy so heres hoping im doing things right, have been takingmy supps tho and have noticed a huge change in my PH, it was always around 8 but have got it down to a 5 and thats only after 5 days, have also started jogging/walking the past two nights, have done 5 km both nights but overdone it last night by jogging too much and have puller something in my leg so having lots of trouble walking today :( so will rest up for a couple of days and take it easy, next time will ease into it and remeber to STRETCH before heading out!

June 30th, 2011, 02:21 AM
Well done Kiesse! Amazing that your pH has gone down so much so quickly :D I found roast dinners the worst to work around too. I usually have roast potatoes (which I make with very low calorie spray oil) and vegetables and once attempted a cheese sauce to eat with it which didn't work well at all!
Sounds promising Mochagirl, I have everything crossed for you!

Dinner: GF pasta with sweetcorn and cheese sauce for toddlers and babies! (Great idea, tasted disgusting!) WW victoria sponge cake.
Snack: 2 slices toast with 1 tbsp peanut butter and small glass skimmed milk

I'm going to test tomorrow for the first time. I'll only be 8dpo, so it'll probably be a BFN, but I can't wait any longer! I haven't felt very pregnant today after feeling dizzy all day yesterday. I keep going back and forth between being sure I'm pregnant and sure I'm not pregnant. I just want to eat some real food!

Today was a strange day. It was the last day of school for my older two boys, so we brought them out to lunch to a restaurant of their choice: fast food, of course. I was going to be good and just get a small fries and nothing else (I had previewed their nutritional info and found I could manage a small fries within my nutritional guidelines). Instead I found myself ordering chicken nuggets then eating the whole thing with 1/2 my fries (luckily ds dropped his fries so I had to give him half of mine or I'm sure I would have eaten them all). I figured the day would be a throwaway, but to my surprise, when I figured out my totals for the day, I was pretty much within limits (only very slightly over for sodium). The weird part - those chicken nuggets only had 5 grams of protein in them. What ARE they making those things out of?? I'm not sure I want to know....
Anyway, here's today:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 5 chicken nuggets with plum sauce, 1/2 an order of small fries
Supper: rice pasta with butternut squash and parmesan
Snack: Vanilla frozen yogurt with strawberries + some gummy candies later in the evening (I had the munchies)
Calories: 1375
Protein: 38.7g
Sodium: 1069mg
Tomorrow I'm 8dpo so I'm going to test first thing in the morning with a FRER. Wish me luck!

Dinner pasta with caramelised leeks and Parmesan, strawberries, frozen yogurt, tutti fruities

Okay, here's today:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: swiss cheese sandwich (I'm really enjoying these lately - they burn up a good amount of my daily sodium and protein, but they fill me up and help me get to supper time without snacking), rice milk, grapes
Supper: rice pasta with low sodium tomato sauce and parmesan, Pop Tart for dessert
Snack: low fat vanilla frozen yogurt with strawberries
Calories: 1518
Protein: 37.8
Sodium: 1000
I've been walking a thin tightrope with sodium lately - always right at the maximum level after keeping to an average of 500mg a day for the first 6 weeks of the diet. I'm just trying to find ways to incorporate more normal food into my diet since I know I'm going to go batty if I end up having to eat nothing but rice pasta for another month. Tomorrow we have friends visiting from out of town and have plans to eat lunch at the local farmer's market (there are lots of food kiosks like at a fair). I know it will end up being another high sodium day since I can't think of anything else I can get except for fries. I'm really praying that BFP happens in the next couple of days.
zanacal
July 2nd, 2011, 02:26 AM
I really hope so too Mocha! 1000mg sodium still isn't high. I checked the daily recommended amount when I started the diet and I'm pretty sure it was at least double that.
Any sign of O yet swish? What are you doing about BDing, are you doing it every day or are you waiting for your +OPK?
I forgot to add my daily menu yesterday. We went to a family fun evening at the school where the rest of my gang had a BBQ and crisps and cakes .... and I had a can of diet coke!
Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: Low fat cheese slice and cucumber in sandwich (I love these too, the most enjoyable thing I eat most days!), packet toddler crisps
Dinner: Kids pizza, pineapple and squirty cream on meringue nest
Snack: Bagel and jam, ww victoria sponge cake (was going to have a glass of milk but had run out - cake seemed a good substitute :D)

Not yet, but feel like it should be soon! Have some ewcm and had headache yesterday. Have so far bd 7 days in a row, it's getting a bit exhausting!!! Have been taking zyrtec to dry up cm bu doesn't seem to be working, do you think I should try benadryl?
Mochagirl
July 2nd, 2011, 06:38 AM
I took both Zyrtec and Benedryl as O approached, and though it might have made the EWCM driy of very, very slightly...it didn't really make a huge difference. I say try benedryl and see what happens. Take it only at night, though - it knocks you out! We ended up BDing 6 nights in a row, and by the end we were both so tired of the nightly routine and ready for a break!

I was thinking along the lines of Zyrtec in the morning and Benadryl at night too. What's the ingredient in Benadryl? I noticed there was a one a day tablet which was made of the same stuff as Zyrtec and some other stuff which was different - began with an L I think.
Mochagirl
July 2nd, 2011, 06:50 AM
Mine has Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride. Just make sure you buy the one ingredient kind - there are others with added ingredients for clogged sinuses, etc. Are you thinking Loratadine? I think that's another common antihistamine ingredient.
zanacal
July 2nd, 2011, 09:46 AM

I would not give that a second's worry or thought. If it is true, it's because ~some~ of the people who O late are Oing late for a specific reason (their hormones are screwed up due to health problems that then make them more likely to miscarry.)
People O late all the time for many reasons and most of them go onto have perfectly normal pregnancy.

You can take both of them together, that is fine. Take a Zyrtec once a day and then Benadryl at night.
Benedryl = diphenhydramine
Zyrtec = cetirizine
Other antihistamines are fine, I just don't find that they work as well for me.

We had a BBQ today so I read just about every packet in the vegetarian sections in Tesco and I was amazed at how much protein was in some of them - like 18g in a vege sausage or burger, wow! Of course a lot of them are made from soya too. I ended up with a really yummy burger made with vegetables and white breadcrumbs, so here's me for today:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: vegeburger with white bread roll, new potatoes with mayonnaise, salad with balsamic and a big flat mushroom from the BBQ. Raspberry sorbet and some tutti fruttis for pudding.
Dinner: Rice with 1/2 jar kids pasta sauce. Strawberries and sweetener for pudding.
Snack: I think I'm going to have an iced bun!
I'm way under on protein for today, only about 25g, but I'll probably leave it because I've been just over 40 the past couple of days and I'm good for calories and sodium. Really pleased with today, it was all yummy :D

Sounds like a really yummy day, Zanacal! I think the trick to following this diet long term is to find allowable treats. I went out for lunch today and the only thing I could find on the menu that wasn't swimming in sodium or protein was a berry crepe. It was just a plain crepe wrapped around fresh berries with a slight drizzle of strawberry syrup on top. It was pretty tasty, though I spent the whole meal ogling ds's fries :).

You see, I still have about 20lbs to lose to get to my lowest adult weight (possibly a bit less but I don't honestly remember that well as my weight has gone up and down so many times over the years!). That's why we're waiting until August but what if I don't get near that in that time, will we wait until September?! Obviously I don't expect an answer but I'm worried that if I don't lose enough weight and have a boy I'll think that could have made the difference. I conceived my boys in Autumn/Winter so if we wait until then so I can lose more weight I'll probably blame that!

This was my first cycle trying, so I've been on the diet 2 months now. I'm still a healthy weight - 117 lbs for my 5'3'' frame, but it's a striking difference compared to my usual 130 lb weight. I've always been a robust girl, so people who know me well notice the difference right away - to others I probably look completely normal. The disappearing boobs have a lot more to do with ds3 weaning a few weeks ago than with the diet - I went out and got a new bra and found that I'm a 34B now though I've been a a 36C for years. I'm trying to enjoy the new thin body while I have it - I doubt I'll ever be this thin again and I'm sure I'll gain like crazy as soon as I'm allowed real food again. I told DH I want to take the boys swimming soon so I can parade around in a swimming suit!

It was actually really nice and fitted in well with the rest of the family having a barbecue. I think I'm going to add more variety if I don't get pregnant this month as I'm going to go crazy. The one thing I really hate is not snacking!!! The chewing gum and sugar free sweets really don't cut it!!

Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: rice with plain yogurt mixed in, rice milk (I actually bought one of those packets of plain cooked rice that you just microwave for 90 seconds. It only has 10mg of sodium per serving, and it made for a quick and easy lunch)
Supper: Eggplant Parmesan. I skipped the salting the eggplant stage - just dipped the slices in egg whites and Panko bread crumbs (very low sodium), the baked them for about 10 minutes. I mixed 1 cup low sodium tomato sauce with a can of no sodium added tomato sauce and added a few herbs and spices to give it more taste, then layered the cooked eggplant in the baking pan with the sauce and a total of 60g of parmesan and 60g of mozzarella. My kids loved it, and the sodium was surprisingly low for my portion (1/4 of the small pan I made). Diet Fruit Creme cookies for dessert.
Snack: low fat vanilla frozen yogurt, strawberries
Calories: 1344
Protein: 40g
Sodium: 680.4mg

Your dinner sounds so good mocha! I always use the pouches of microwave rice, doesn't seem worth the palaver just for me otherwise. We're getting quite adventurous now aren't we? I think initially I stuck with very bland, very easy meals because I was worried about high nutrients but now I really think that it's impossible to eat many nutrients, fat or anything else so long as I'm sticking to the daily cals/protein/sodium and eating plenty of simple carbs. I only ever have 1, maybe 2, portions of fruit or veg each day so it's hardly a healthy diet! My bowels confirm this :D I'm also getting a twitchy eye so often which I think is caused by low potassium - but I'm eating potatoes and tomatoes so avoiding them isn't the magic answer to low potassium either!
Today I've had:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: Wrap with low fat soft cheese. Organix carrot sticks (toddler crisps)
Dinner: Roasted mushroom, pepper, courgette and tomato with GF pasta and parmesan. 4 dough balls (everyone else had garlic dip!). Raspberry sorbet.
Dinner was so good and so filling that I can't even think about tonight's snack yet, but I've only had around 900 cals and just over 30g protein so I'll probably have a handful of sweets :D

I just thought I should add an update to this thread for the benefit of my diet buddies who might not be following the July 2WW thread. Last night I think I had implantation bleeding. I noticed a few streaks of red in my cm last night while getting ready for bed. I panicked, thinking maybe af was coming, but after a bit of Internet research discovered that lots of women have IB as late as 11dpo (it was 10dpo for me). The bleeding stopped overnight, and I had a BFN today, but from the sounds of it I wouldn't expect to get a BFP until about 48 hours after IB anyway. I am so excited and distracted I can't get anything done today, and I'm worried I'm getting my hopes up too much and will have a huge letdown if I don't get my BFP.

Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 1/2 bagel with a tiny bit of mayo and a slice of low fat Swiss cheese melted on top, rice milk
Supper: pasta with unsalted butter and parmesan, Nibs for dessert
Snack: strawberries, 16 Salt & Vinegar Pringle potato chiips (that's one serving - pretty substantial and the sodium isn't bad)
Calories: 1360
Protein: 46 (I used real pasta tonight - I guess I should stick with rice pasta)
Sodium: 550.7mg (I don't know how I kept sodium so low even with the chips!)
That bleeding last night really threw me for a loop - it made me feel like the BFP is a sure thing, and that scares me since that's far from the truth. I'm worried I'm going to be even more devastated now if I don't get that BFP that I would have before. I'm so ready to be done with this diet - I even tested again right before I ate supper thinking if I got a BFP I'd toss the pasta and order a pizza instead!

Yesterday...
No breakfast, not even peppermint tea
Lunch toast and jam, strawberries
Dinner out so really tricky, ended up with asparagus with lemon and Parmesan to start and goats cheese salad with butternut squash and cucumber fir main and a small glass of wine. I don't know if the sodium was ok, I hope so!!!! It was yummy but not many calories today, there was hardly any goats cheese on my salad!

Sorry you got a BFN today mochagirl - I read that it's your wedding anniversary and that you're planning a take-away. I think that sounds like an excellent idea and I hope you have a great evening. We just celebrated 8 years too!
You chose a great restaurant swish, it sounds like the type of girl friendly feast you'd cook up at home for a special occasion!
Today I've had:
Coffees
Lunch: Dairylea light and cucumber sandwich, grapes, 2 caramel rice cakes
Dinner: Same as yesterday - pasta with roasted veg and parmesan. For pudding I had a mini orange and ginger polenta cake. We won them in a raffle on Friday and I resisted but I couldn't see why the heck not - it was such a small slice and I found out the calories online and guessed the protein and sodium but I have loads left for today so I'm sure it's fine :D
I am on CD9 and I'm getting EWCM and some definite tenerness in my tummy - last month I ovulated on CD19. WTF?! This is my first month I've added Saw Palmetto so not sure if that's the reason. Could just be a red herring and not really the build up to O I suppose.

I forgot to say that I lost 2lb this week - I know I shouldn't be, but I was quite disappointed with that! Still, 18.5lb in 5 weeks is good going I suppose. I hope I can make it 21lb (1.5 stone) in 6 weeks.

Yes, I think we'll get takeaway tonight to celebrate our anniversary. We could order Indian and I could get the same thing as last time, which kept within my dietary limits...or I could order a glorious, greasy pizza. I'll see how I feel later today. I do want one big splurge in case I have to do the diet for another month, so maybe today should be the day.
I'm feeling slightly more positive since my BFN this morning. I'm really crampy - much more so than when I get my period. I'm also very nauseous - at first I was chalking it up to being hungry, but now that I've eaten lunch, I still feel sick. I know I said I'd wait to test until tomorrow, but I just know I'll end up testing again later today. I just want to know either way! af is due on Wednesday if I go by my usual 26 day cycle, or Friday if I'm right that O was delayed 2 days. With the strength of the cramps I'm getting I would think either af must be very close or I'm pregnant.
Oh well, off to remortgage my house so I can buy more FRERs :worry: (dh has no idea how much they cost - he already thinks I'm crazy for testing so much, but if he knew how much they cost he'd think I was fit to be institutionalized)
Congratulations on your anniversary too, Zanacal! We haven't done a lot to celebrate since having kids (we don't have any family near by to babysit), so we just order in and watch a movie. DH won't even get lucky since I feel too crampy to dtd. Exciting life, eh?

Zanacal, the restaurant was zizzi, it was lovely food but I was SO jealous of my friends pizzas!! I think you are doing well that you are still losing weight, I'm sure you'll reach your target!! Today...
No breakfast, accidentally had 7up that wasn't diet mid morning - hope that doesn't matter!
Lunch toast and jam, yogurt, strawberries
Snack blueberry biscuit
Dinner gf pasta with roasted courgette and aubergine, Parmesan and squeeze of lemon, more strawberries, few tutti fruities

I didn't bother finding nutritional totals for today since I splurged and had a panzerotti for supper. It was sooooo good - I felt full and satisfied for the first time in a looong time!
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 2 rice cakes, vanilla ice cream mixed with fresh raspberries in a waffle cone (ds 1 & 2 had fillings done at the dentist today so I promised them ice cream for being brave. Of course, I had to have some too!)
Supper: Mushroom and cheese panzerotti
Snack: Nibs, frozen grapes
I'll be 13 dpo tomorrow. I still have lots and lots of cramps and waves of nausea, but it could just be af causing them. I'm trying to hold onto a wee bit of hope since I think I didn't implant until the evening of 10dpo and apparently it sometimes takes a few days to get a + after that. I'll be testing again in the morning. :fx: After that real meal tonight the thought of eating bland food for another month is depressing....

Oh, Swish - I know I shouldn't complain when you've had such a crazy long cycle this month - you must be soooo frustrated!
I'm panicking a little bit because I just looked at the calendar, and we're going to be at our family cottage right around the time I'm ovulating this month. We'll be sharing a room with all 3 kids (and possibly one of their cousins), so dtd will not be possible. If af arrives today, I'm screwed for sure, but if she waits to arrive until Friday, I won't actually ovulate until we get back from the cottage, so an attempt might still be possible, though we may have to do abstinence with one attempt instead of frequent bd. The diet's also going to be really tricky while we're there. My brother fancies himself a chef and will be making all of our meals - they are sure to be meat and garlic heavy. He's very sensitive and will be very offended if I don't eat, so I'm not sure what I will do.
Hopefully af won't arrive and I won't have to worry about all of this! I keep telling myself that because I think I implanted very late (right at the end of 10dpo), it's still possible I'll get a late BFP.... How do you wait until af is due to test??? I'm such a POAS addict there's no way I could ever do that!
swish
July 6th, 2011, 08:15 AM
Don't be silly, you have every right to complain, we all do on this horrible diet!!!! I've always been quite laid back with getting pregnant in the past, not so this time, mostly because of the food thing! So I may be tempted to test early. Is there ni way you and dh could do a quicky somewhere private!!! Would you consider telling your brother? If not, I'm sure you could make some excuse to avoid the big no-no's. Hopefully this is all irrelevant and you'll have a bfp in a few days!! I don't know what to do now, just to wait or continue frequent bding, although we missed last night- there's only so much bding a girl can do!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mochagirl
July 6th, 2011, 08:58 AM
For sure - after 6 nights of BDing (as well as 7 nights before that with me helping dh release), I was SO DONE. I would have been happy if I didn't see another penis for a year!
You still haven't gotten a definite positive OPK? Has your cm changed to creamy? Today might be a good time to check since you didn't dtd last night so there's probably no semen in there.

Hugs, Mocha! Just replied to you in the 2ww thread. It's not over until AF comes! Was this your 1st attempt? Girl swaying is so rough sometimes...We skimp and and starve and are the walking, hungry dead all day (at least I am since my energy is gone) and then add a bit of RePhresh and other swaying tricks and it's very difficult to get preggers...I'm hoping that we all have little pink beans in our bellies by Aug/Sept. (or sooner!)
I would love to join you guys on this thread b/c I think it'll help me keep focused and inspire me...I hope you don't mind! My 2nd attempt will be somewhere in the middle of Aug. We're still BF DS#2 so I'm unable to take Baby Asprin or Saw Palmetto but I do drink a lot of Peppermint Tea throughout the day. I'm doing things a bit differently than everyone else...I eat breakfast and eat 2 - 3 meals a day but usually eat a light dinner between 3 - 5 pm. I'm hoping this will still sway girl for me. I eat very boring, simple things but I'm pretty good usually about sticking to the diet. Here's what yesterday was for me:
1st Meal:
- coffee w/a splash of rice milk
- 100% cran juice w/fiber powder (I can't quit my cran juice and it helps w/UTIs so I've kept it in my sway)
2nd Meal:
- Air-popped popcorn
- My Girl Sway Smoothie (froz strawberries and raspberries, Psyllium husks, 1 C. of Rice Milk)
3rd Meal:
- Iceburg lettuce and Morrocan Salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, balsamic, grapeseed oil, cumin)
- Lowfat string cheese
- Trader Joe's seaweed snack (ugh...I know these probably have too many nutrients in them but I'm addicted...they taste like potato chips to me).
- a few bites of DH's fruit parfait (left over from our Independance Celebration on Tues.)
- Sugar-free Fiber Choice fiber supps
Total Cals: 1,459
Fat: 26
Protein: 42
Fiber: 54
Sodium: 811
I think today will be similar...I'm struggling w/cutting my protein and I'm thinking more fiber will help keep my appetite low. Hope you all are doing well today!

Looks great, OotB! Good for you for adding so much fiber to your diet - I should try that if I have to continue this diet for much longer.
Yes, this was my first month TTC. I've always fallen pregnant very quickly (even when I swayed unsuccessfully for ds3), but I'm 36 now so my eggies are getting older. We BD pretty much through O to increase my chances of getting pregnant. I've been on the diet since the beginning of May, so over 2 months now. I've lost 15 lbs as of this morning, and am thinner than I've been since I was a teenager (115lbs).

Yes, please joing us OOTB! Your diet looks fab :D I'm taking Chitosan as a fibre supplement but it's really not helping to keep me regular - I never thought I'd miss fruit and veg so much!
My weight loss is not happening as fast now and in the past this has been because I've not been eating enough (I know that doesn't make much sense!). So instead of eating the same amount of calories each day I've tried to have a day of eating more to boost my metabolism then I'll cut back to less than usual for tomorrow and Friday and see if that helps. I still only managed a bit less than 1400 cals today trying to be naughty! Protein is way under 40g and sodium well within limits too.
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: Low fat cheese slice and cucumber on ww bread. 2 caramel rice cakes. toddler crisps. grapes.
Snack: 2 custard cream biscuits. ww victoria sponge cake.
Dinner: KFC! Large fries and ice cream with diet pepsi.

Mocha – I’m like you…I get preg really easily but I just turned 38 so my eggies are a bit older. It really shocked me that I didn’t get preg this last time since it’s been so easy before. I was really deflated when I kept seeing BFNs...I have to keep reminding myself that this time around, I’m swaying so things are different! That is AWESOME that you lost that weight! I’m almost to my college weight of 107 lbs (I’m 110 lbs now). I was 130-something when I conceived both our boys so hopefully it’ll sway well (???). Being this small along w/Vitex and the sway are really screwing up my cycles but I guess that’s a good thing. Just makes it annoying when you want to get preggers NOW! lol

Zanacal - I really want to take Chitosan but I’m afraid of taking it while BF. That’s really good that you’re taking it!! I know exactly what you’re talking about when you say you need to eat more cals…Last summer, I lost 25 lbs and I had to eat about 1500 – 1600 cals to keep losing. I also often did the “calorie zig-zagging” like you…it really keeps your body guessing on how much you’ll put in there and thus, you end up losing more! You’re definitely on the right track, sister!

Awww...thanks OotB. Honestly, I've surprised myself by how strict I've been with the diet. I've never dieted a day in my life and normally have NO willpower whatsoever. I'm trying to make up for the crappy sway I did last time (though it resulted in my beautiful ds3, so no regrets - I just want to do it differently this time).
I find that if anything I've relaxed in my view of the diet over the past 2 months. I've found lots of things that feel like cheats without actually being cheats, and discovered that you don't have to have bland, flavourless meals in order to follow the diet. Some of my favourite experiments: portobello mushroom burger, eggplant parmesan, spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The tricks are portion size, fresh ingredients whenever possible, and careful measuring while making them to make sure you don't exceed your protein and sodium limits per portion. I've even been able to sneak in a few chips now and then while still staying below 1000mg of sodium - that feels like a real treat after almost no salt for so long!

Hello everyone! I'm going to be joining you soon:) Hubby and I will be trying for an end of August/Sept conception(as I'm going to a conference in April next year and the latest I want to fly while pregnant is 35 weeks so we have to ttc after Aug 27). So, with that in mind I'm going to start my diet next week :( ugh. I didn't do the diet hardcore last month but it still sucked. Anyway, I think I'm going to cut WAY back on protein, incorporate way more yoghurt/vegies and some supps. And then pray.....a lot;). I don't know if I should exercise or not....what are you guys doing?

Maybe my T levels have dropped over the last 6 years and I'd be silly to incorporate exercise and boost them when they could potentially be lower than even 2 years ago. Ugh. Decisions, decisions. Ok, here's today:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: steamed rice mixed with a couple of TBSP of plain non-fat yogurt, strawberries
Snack: 2 Peek Freans Lifestyles (no sugar) cookies
Supper: caprese salad (a slice of fresh mozzarella, tomato and a bit of basil with balsamic vinegar drizzled on top) (I was making this for my kids and couldn't resist one slice), rice pasta with pesto and parmesan (mmmmmmmmm...so yummy. WHY oh WHY can't we eat garlic on this diet - it would be sooooo much easier if we could eat it!!!), low fat frozen yogurt and a few Nibs for dessert
Calories: 1502
Protein: 40g
Sodium: 922mg
Now I have to start weaning myself back onto the real diet or I'll get into the habit of cheating every day. I'll be 14dpo tomorrow and will be testing again. Wish me luck!

Tbh, I'm not sure it does a great deal. I'm not BFing anymore either - DS3 would have carried on if I hadn't asked but I gave him the option and he ran to the fridge for a cup of milk! I would have stopped when pregnant anyway (ouch!) and it means I can take Saw Palmetto. Thanks for the feedback on 'zig zagging' (now I even have a name for it!). I'm hoping it will help me to keep on losing weight fast because I'm nervous about getting pregnant without losing enough first!
DM - I did exercise for the first week but I was really worried that I wasn't exercising often enough or hard enough and whilst I think I can do this diet longer term, there's no way I could have stuck with that, so I'm sat on my bum being lazy instead!! We're planning an August or September attempt too :D
This morning I took my youngest 2 to Costa and I had a really yummy latte made with sugar free vanilla syrup and skimmed milk. I also bought some mini muffins and brought home a white chocolate and raspberry one for me to have with my lunch :D I'd have brought 2 home if DS3 hadn't taken another!

Mochagirl - how did you make your spinach and ricotta cannelloni? It sounds so good!
Mochagirl
July 7th, 2011, 07:30 AM
I mixed some thawed frozen spinach with a container of low fat ricotta, 60g of parmesan (2 servings, but this was to make a whole pan for the family) and an egg white (you could leave this out if you're avoiding eggs - I eat them once in a blue moon). I stuffed some oven ready cannelloni shells with the mixture, then put them in a pan with some tomato sauce spread underneath and on top (I mixed low sodium tomato sauce with no sodium stuff and added a few extra spices for flavour), then sprinkled 60g of low fat mozzarella on top. My portion was 1/4 of the pan, and though I don't have the exact nutritional info on hand anymore, it fit in nicely with my daily limits.

Hi all! DH is out of town until Monday and I’ll be Oing in a few days…Glad I postponed my sway b/c we couldn’t have made it work anyway but it’s kind of sad to watch an O go by w/out attempting to get preg, especially having been on the diet for so long while I keep having to postpone TTC. Oh, well…my girl is coming on her own sched I guess.
Mocha, I  portobello burgers! I actually ate them often before the sway so I’m so glad you posted about them to give us the idea. I totally agree w/you on the garlic! Everything I used to cook always had garlic in it…Thankfully we can have LEEKS!!! I think they're my BFF on the diet. That spinach and ricotta cannelloni sounds divine! I’ve been meaning to make zucchini lasagna which has similar ingredients. You use strips of zucchini in place of the pasta. I’ve got to figure it out in my head and then try it. I might try to make your cannelloni first though because it sounds really yummy!
YAY, Doula Mama! I’m focused on August too… I’ve wanted to incorporate exercise into my sway but just as you guys said, I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep it up enough to lower T and instead increase it. :worry: I’m skinny yet flabby now. All muscles are gone, baby, gone…Oh, well. That's what we want, right? I think T is my biggest issue to tackle but I I’ve come a long way since where I was conceiving our two boys. I just hope it’ll be enough…Off to drink more peppermint tea, lol!
Zanacal – here’s a zig-zag calculator if you want…http://www.naturalphysiques.com/64 You’re doing great losing weight and you are swaying HARD! Keep it up…you inspire me!

Thanks for the welcome guys! Wow it sounds like you guys have this diet mastered! I'm excited to peruse this thread from start to finish:) It's cool that some of us are going to be trying around the same time. Question for you guys... I notice that a lot of you are skinny. I am not:( I'm probably 35 lbs over my ideal, comfortable weight. Do you think 6-8 weeks of weight loss and diet will do anything? I'll still be heavy when we ttc:( I'm feeling a bit down today. I conceived all 3 boys on a boyfriendly diet but I was still 20-30lbs overweight when I did. Ugh. I wish I had some willpower.

DM - I'm not skinny!! When I started the girl diet I was 190.5lb and after 5 weeks I'm 172lb. I think the lowest I've been pre-conception is around 155lb, but I'd hit my bottom weight and was putting on again (I'm a yo-yo dieter I'm afraid!). I lost weight before each of my pregnancies but each time I'm pretty sure I was on the way up again because I told myself it really didn't matter if I was going to get fat and pregnant anyway! I don't know whether we'll go for it in August as planned if I haven't lost enough weight because I really want to get to around 150lb, which would be a 40lb loss in total and the lowest I can remember weighing since my late teens. On the other hand, I plan to do a lot to sway pink and therefore lower my chances of even getting pregnant to begin with so perhaps we shouldn't wait until I get to where I ultimately want to be given that it might take us a few months. I'm hoping Atomic will have some helpful advice on this :D
Thanks so much for the information on calorie zig-zagging OoTB, it's really helpful. I think I've cut back way too much on calories for somebody of my weight so I'm going to double up on my pasta and get a bit more in and follow the zig-zagging concept too. It means I get a few more calories a couple of days a week :D

Hi Girls! I would like to join in too, if that's ok. I am about to O and my will power is sliding so I think posting my diet should help. I am nursing a 2 yr old. I started out at 157 and I am now 142. I concieved my last two at 145 and 150lbs.
Yesterday I had:
mid morning: glass skim milk, couple strawberries, pitcher cl
Lunch: 2 pieces of low salt bread with diet pb, glass skim milk
supper: 2 pieces of low salt bread with strawberry jam, glass skim milk, pitcher cl
Today so far I have had:
mid morning: glass skim milk, rice cake, pitcher cl
lunch: 1 no salt homemade waffle, glass skim milk
I am trying to really cut down because I will be Oing so soon. looking forward to getting some new ideas from you guys. I am stuck on toast and rice.

Welcome, tweedle! Tell me how you made your saltless waffle! I've been trying to find a way to make pancakes without salt but discovered that baking powder has almost as much sodium in it as salt does and can't find any recipes that don't include it. I know they made sodium free baking powder, but I can't find it anywhere!

Welcome tweddle! Today was a little tricky as it was my sister's birthday and we had friends for lunch
No breakfast
Lunch 1 small piece of delicious onion quiche, salad and French bread with a little humous - all of it was delicious!!! And a cupcake with butter icing. At first I didn't think this was too bad but then my sister revealed she used double cream in the quiche - no wonder it was sooooo good! Never mind!
Dinner risotto with aubergine and mushrooms and Parmesan. A few White chocolate buttons and marshmallows. An apple.
I'm still really pleased that I'm getting through the day without snacking at all!!!
The last few days LOTS of people have commented on how thin I am. My sister even got out photos from a few months ago - oh dear!! Luckily today my sister stuck up for me telling friends I've always been thin and I'm eating normally!! I can't wait for the lies to stop!!

I do use baking powder. Mine is 300mg in a tbsp, 1 tbsp in the recipe. My recipe made 14 waffles, I had one, so not too bad! I just skip the salt and use salt free butter in the batter.

OK, I'm thinking your pancakes are different to the ones we make in the UK because the only ingredients are flour, eggs and milk - I don't add salt but I don't add salt to any recipes anyway. The eggs are a problem of course but ok for a treat, although I'd rather have mine poached on toast :D
Welcome tweedle - I'm thinking I may cut back around O time too. Keep going, you're doing great :D

Yes, swish - I think British pancakes might be more like crepe, right? In North America we like our pancakes big and fluffy :). Tweedle - you make a good point about the baking powder. If I can manage to eat chips once in a while and still stay under 1000mg of sodium, surely I could eat a few pancakes if the entire recipe only has 300mg in it.

I was never a fan of pork chops either but when I first met hubby and he was trying to impress me with the few things he can cook he made it with 1 inch chops and on one side he dusted it with rosemary, garlic, paprika, and pepper and cooked it on med/high heat for about 10-12 mins on each side in olive oil. It comes out so juicy and tasty.... now I am starving can't wait until dinner!

Here's my take on things...YES, YES, YES your weightloss will sway...You're both doing great. I think what really matters is that you have the downward trend going on and you keep that trend while you conceive (and the 2ww) b/c your body is going to think you're continuing to go down and will be better off popping a girl out than a boy. It's going to think, "HOLY *$%&...when is this girl going to eat something!?! Doesn't appear to be anytime soon...better make a girl." I think it's really important that you hit it hard in the week or so before you O and keep it going but of course I think you guys are hitting it hard weeks (months in your case, Zanacal) in advance which is super. mocha, we´re having a barbeque tomorrow and I wanted to make your mushroom burger but I can´t find it anymore. Could you please tell me how you made it, I remember you marinated the mushrooms in balsamico, but what did you add to make it stick together? TIA

July 8th, 2011, 06:34 AM
I just took a portobello mushroom, cut off the stem, marinated the whole thing in balsamic, then put it on the grill. I found it flared up a lot the first time, so the second time I covered the grill with foil first and it worked better. I think I grilled it for maybe 5 minutes per side, then I put a slice of low fat cheese on top (I used provolone), waited for it to melt and was done. I ate it on a low sodium bun with a touch of mayo and a slice of tomato. A slice of cucumber might work too. Enjoy!

So....af arrived today so I'm officially going to be on this diet at least another month. Not happy about that at all. Now I have to figure out what to do with my cottage visit right around O-time. We'll have my parents, my brother's family and our family packed into a 2.5 bedroom cottage, and there's nowhere I can steal away to with dh to dtd. I just looked at the calendar, and we're planning to be at the cottage from the 15th until the 19th, and I'm due to O on the 19th based on my usual cd12 ovulation, or the 21st if Vitex delays O 2 days again. For once I'm hoping O comes 2 days later because it would be easier. I could have dh release daily in the shower, then we could dtd on the 19th, 20th and 21st for our attempt (not as much bd as we did this time, but better than nothing). If O comes on time, I don't know what we'll do.:nails:

tweedle - I'm sure your nutrients were within limits, but it looks like you didn't eat any real food yesterday! There's nothing wrong with a little ice cream - I eat some frozen yogurt almost every night, but surely you can't survive on nothing but ice cream and CL. I would be soooo hungry by the end of the day if I ate that little. Would you consider yogurt instead of milk? At least you'd get more substance out of it. (BTW not meaning to lecture - just worried about you!)

Oh mochagirl, I'm so disappointed for you. I really thought this was your month. Are you ok?
I agree tweedle, you must have been so hungry by bedtime - what willpower!
Today I've had:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 2 slices ww bread with low fat cheese slice. Packet potato loop crisps.
Dinner: 2 slices ww bread with low fat spread and 1/2 tin light baked beans. Pot low fat rice pudding with dollop of sugar free jam.
Snack: Strawberries with meringue nest and squirty cream. 1/2 big packet tutti fruttis.
Does anybody else get hungrier around O time? I got a positive OPK today (at cd12 - didn't ovulate until cd19 last month!) and a couple of days ago I knew it was coming, mainly because of the tummy tenderness, but also because I was starving! I'm really thinking we'll skip another cycle before our attempt if they're going to be shorter cycles because I think I probably need more than another 4 weeks on the diet.

zanacal - I think you've been a rock star as far as weight loss goes, and you could start your attempt as soon as you want and feel good about it!
I'm doing ok - thanks for asking. I've decided to take this lemon and make lemonade. You may have seen my post in 2WW, but April is a better month to have a baby anyway because March here in Canada is crappy weather-wise. I'm also going to try to enjoy this skinny body for another month, though it will mean I'll have to go shopping because I have NOTHING that fits me anymore (another positive - retail therapy!). Second month's always been the charm for me, so I'm hoping the same thing will happen this time. I'm on CD1 - it's a fresh start and I'm ready to go!

I also got a +OPK today (and yesterday)...Never in my life have I seen a positive more than one day so I'm thinking it may be the Vitex...(???). It's a shame we're not TTC on this one, lol. Whether you push your TTC efforts out another cycle or not, I think you've done a lot to sway the odds. Like Mocha said, do what feels best!
Okey-dokey...Here's my day (like a broken record, lol!):
1st Meal:
- 100% cran juice w/psyllium husks
- decaf coffee w/splash of rice milk
2nd Meal:

- rice cakes w/hummus
- fiber choice fiber supps
3rd Meal:
- iceburg lettuce w/balsamic
- air-popped popcorn
- rasp/strawberry/psyllium husk smoothie w/rice milk
I'm finding I'm reaaaaally low on potassium...like only 300 to 600 mg per day so I think I'll need to start drinking some coconut water...when it's hot, I don't feel like eating bananas. I've been feeling really nauseas, weak and thirsty for the past several weeks and I am getting reoccuring headaches. Anyone else have this problem? I think it's probably a quick fix but I'm glad I went back to food logging for a bit since I happened to notice my levels were too low.

Thank you Girls! I guess it's just so hard to imagine that anything will work for me. I wasn't really into the diet at all at first but the more I think about it, the more I'm really pushed to do it. I have this one last chance...why waste it???
It really helps knowing that you guys are all still alive and well.....LOL! I thought for sure I would die without any red meat....and who knows...I might make headlines- "Canadian woman found clutching a package of ground beef in her home. COD was from lack of yummy foods".:bigsmile:

DM, you're so funny, I love reading your posts! I too find it hard to imgagine anything will work for me - in my mind I'm doing this all so I can tell myself I did it when I have our next boy. I truly don't ever think we'll have a girl. I really don't miss meat either - excet that it's sometimes inconvenient not to be eating it because I can't just eat the same as everybody else! I also eat lots and lots of yummy food on this diet so don't worry about that :D

DM - you can do it, believe me! Before I started this diet, I told my girlfriends that there was no way I'd actually be able to do it. I figured I'd get a week in then dh would find me shit in a closet eating a big bag of chips. I LOVE to eat - seriously, I normally spend my whole day planning my meals and anticipating my snacks. I thought denying myself everything I loved would drive me batty. Instead, I've found things that fit into this diet that I can look forward to. I looooove parmesan cheese, so having a generous portion of that on my pasta makes it yummy to me. I've found some types of pizza that I can eat. An luckily for me, strawberries are my favourite fruit and in season right now.
What part of Canada are you in, by the way? I'm in SW Ontario.

Mocha, I agree w/the others…your attitude is perfect! I know it felt so good when AF finally came for me last time since I felt so relieved and ready to hit it again. I did take a cheat day on the 1st day of AF (and will continue to do so as long as AF comes) but I was a bad, bad girl and didn’t even count cals, protein, sodium or anything. You did a SUPER job for having a cheat day…:agree: doesn’t even seem that bad…just a bit high on Sodium but that’s way less important than the other things I think. You are still on the girl path and hitting it hard!
I LOVE to eat - seriously, I normally spend my whole day planning my meals and anticipating my snacks.
LOL…I could have wrote that!!! I simply LOVE FOOD! Don’t get me started on CAKE! Doula already knows of my addiction to that, ha, ha…
DM, I agree w/Zany…I always know I’ll have a good laugh when I see one of your posts. You will find that there are so many work-arounds once you find girl foods you like. As long as you can fit it into your cals/protein/fat/sodium, you can eat just about anything and sway. I think you just need to get out there and experiment. We're here to cheer you on!
Zany, I think most, if not all of us girl swayers are having a really hard time thinking we’ll actually get our girl. I guess it’s a good thing for the sway, though. I just feel defeated and deflated sometimes… I really do believe you have a really strong shot at getting your girl! I truely do! Now, just disregard I said that so it doesn’t make you feel confident and raise your T levels, lol…

I am so with you because I haven't had a steak all summer and we bought so many and they are just sitting in the deep freezer... I am going to make 10 steaks as a way to tell hubby we are preg (when i am 4-6wks). He has been so good and has only had beef a few times in the last 4mths.
I mostly dream about foods because I was deprived of most foods as a kid and I love the fact that I can make whatever I want and share it with my kids... I love making up recipes and then falling in love with the taste.

You guys really think of some creative meals! I'm pretty boring but, like the rest of you, I am dying for a steak, stuffed potato and some potato chips.
mid morning: glass skim milk, CL
lunch: 2 slices of low salt bread with a tiny bit of tomato sauce, little mozza cheese and 2 slices of shaved extra lean turkey breast, glass skim milk
supper: 2 slices of low salt toast, glass skim milk, CL

What a great idea, tweedle! I'm going to make little 'pizzas' like that on low sodium bread too! It would be a lot less effort than making a saltless pizza crust, and it would feel so decadent! Since I'd use so little tomato sauce I could even use some that has some sodium (and hence flavour) in it, and portion control would be easy since I'd only make myself as much as I'm allowed to eat (I'm always afraid if I make a whole pizza I'll eat the whole thing). Yay! Another easy meal idea!

Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: Wrap with extra light cheese spread, 2 white chocolate fingers, ww victoria sponge cake, 2 boiled sweets
Snack: 2 custard cream biscuits, glass skimmed milk
Dinner: ww mediterranean vegetable crustless quiche, salad with balsamic vinegar and tiny bit of feta cheese crumbled on top. Strawberries with meringue nest and squirty cream. Glass white wine!
Lots of yummy things today to celebrate the end of the working week and I kept within my allowances. I was trying to reach around 1350 calories (trying to zig-zag my calories!) but only managed about 1250.

Are you referring to the zig-zagging Atomic? It really only means having 1200 cals 5 days a week and 1300 or 1400 on the other 2 days. I've been hitting 1100 to 1200 cals each day and I don't think I'm eating enough to lose weight quickly as it's slowed down to a couple of lbs each week. I know from my vast past experience of dieting (!) that my body will hold onto the lbs if I don't eat enough and I want to keep hitting the weight loss hard. The idea with zig-zagging your calories as it fools your body into not knowing what's coming next and gives your metabolism a boost.

Wow!! I didn't get my gd fix yesterday as I was at a wedding and there is SO much to catch up on!! Firstly, yesterday's food, it was a disaster as I had to eat what I was given..
No breakfast
Lunch toast and jam, strawberries
Dinner tomato and mozarella bruschetta, chicken with wine, cream and mushroom sauce, creamy potatoes and green beans, White chocolate torte - it was really delicious and the first time I've eaten meat for a LONG time!
That day I had loads of yellowish discharge and am still not really sure if I've got a yi so just incase I'm now avoiding bread and sugar - as if the diet wasn't a nightmare already!!! So today...
No breakfast
Lunch couscous with green beans, yogurt, actimel ( I thought if I do have a yi thus is the only thing I have dropped form my diet so maybe it was keeping it at bay before!)
Dinner gf pasta, courgette and aubergine with Parmesan. Strawberries and White chocolate buttons (I'm finding no sugar hard!!!)
Anyway...
Dm, just to echo everyone else, I think you're doing great with any weight loss, the idea is to make your body think times are bad and anyone's body would think that on this miserable diet!!!
Tweddle, that pizza idea sounds yum, I might try that!
Ootb, I feel really guilty, sometimes I totally ignore my lovely little men so I can read the updates!!:prof:
Mocha, I hope you're back on track with the diet, I also primarily want a bfp quickly as I want to eat again!!! I originally thought I would like a 3 year gap between ds2 and next baby so that would mean not having the baby until may, we'll see what happens...
Zanacal, as I've said to you before I just cannot believe that this will actually work for me, I know it works for others but I think everyone thinks they'll be the percentage for whom it doesn't work- all we can do is try!!!!

Oh and I can't find now where I read this but my experience with Chitosan was that it worked great for weight loss when I was eating a lot of fat (because it absorbs fat) but when I was eating mostly carbs, it didn't help much. Which makes sense. That having been said, I do think it's also absorbing whatever fat there is in the things you eat and some of the fat soluble vitamins, which is all good.

No, I think I quoted the wrong post, but someone had asked whether or not it was a good idea to make your weight loss peak right when you conceive. I think it's best to just lose it when you can lose it and then conceive when you need to rather than trying to time the two.
The zig-zagging is intriguing to me because when I've dieted in the past I notice I have had a lot of times where I should be losing weight and then don't lose any, then I think, "well f- this" and cheat, and then the next day I've lost like 3 lbs. It's happened probably 2 dozen times!!

Would you personally wait to start ttc until you got to that point, even if it meant conceiving at 'boy' time of year?! My weight has fluctuated so much over the years that it's hard to remember. I know that when I was 18 and DH and I had bought our first house together I went to Weight Watchers and I was 155lb. I lost some weight at WW just after that but I'm pretty sure I never got below that level again. I weighed about the same after Christmas in 2008 and DS3 was conceived in January - but my weight was definitely on the way up because we'd decided to get pregnant so I'd ditched the diet. I figure if I can get to around 150lb then that's a lot lighter than I've been for a lot of years and, I'm pretty sure, my lowest pre conception weight - but I'm also pretty sure that I won't get there for next month's cycle when we'd planned to start trying because I'm around 170lb now.

Here's my day...:C:
1st Meal:
-decaf coffee w/splash of rice milk
-100% Cran juice w/Psyllium husks
2nd Meal:
-homemade hummus and coco pop cakes (Just found these today and they taste way better than rice cakes IMO. Only 16 cals and 5mg sodium/no fat/no protein)
-coconut water
3rd Meal:
-iceburg lettuce w/homemade vinegrette and a few sprinkles of goat cheese, "girl sway smoothie", popcorn
Cals: 1,462
Fat: 41
Protein: 50
Fiber: 72
Sodium: 837
Higher fat and protein than I hoped for but I guess not terrible.

Swish - what a yummy sounding meal you had! You deserve a cheat day after all the hell you went through with your late O!
Zanacal - it sounds like weight sways more than time of year. Besides, we all live in different countries with different seasons. Here's my day:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: 1 slice of Weight Watcher's bread with a tiny bit of low fat peanut butter, strawberries
Supper: rice pasta with zucchini, leeks and parmesan, rice milk, low fat vanilla frozen yogurt
Snack: 30g of cheese curd (I was good today and kept to one serving, so stayed within the guidelines!), cranberry & vodka (I needed to have some extra calories anyway, and I'm far enough away from conception that I thought I deserved a little alcohol - I abstained completely for the past 3 weeks), strawberries
Calories: 1396
Protein: 37g
Sodium: 682mg
I went out today to get some new clothes because nothing fits me anymore. Turns out I've gone from a Size 6 to a Size 2! I definitely don't want to lose much more weight. How many calories do you think I should keep to so I don't gain weight but I also don't lose much more. I've been averaging 1200-1300 and thought maybe I should aim for something closer to 1400-1500? 1500 is probably where you want to be...even up to 1700 is probably fine but you'd want to gradually add the extra cals in slowly, especially since you're swaying. Add a few extra over a few days and see how your body reacts and then go from there. I'm trying to eat about 1500 but I'm finding it hard to get that high most days. I just don't feel like eating more. YAY for size 2!!!! :agree:

In general, I find it VERY hard to add calories without adding protein and sodium. I eat tons of fruit already, but it's not enough to get me close to 1500. I've started eating more sweets, and that's helping a bit. I'll try to gradually add calories - I definitely don't want to gain weight, but I had a friend today tell me I look anorexic, so I don't want to lose anymore for sure!

You couldn't be more right about the weather! This summer has been shocking. We had a glorious April where we were outside in swimsuits and with the paddling pool every day but we haven't had it out since. We get the occasional good day but for the most part it's dull and rains most days. Perhaps we'll get an Indian summer!
The only thing holding me back from delaying my attempt is that I really would rather baby #4 wasn't more than 2 school years younger than DS3 - which means conceiving by the end of the year. I'm going to have to hope we get pregnant fairly quickly - and I don't suppose 1 month makes much difference. AND I'm going to be thin :D :D :D

AND I'm going to be thin :D :D :D
I've gotta admit - I'm enjoying the being thin part. I've been really self conscious about my bosy since my twins were born. I had always been one of those naturally thin people with a high metabolism (yeah, I know - I hate people like that now too ), but after gaining 75 lbs with them nothing went quite back where it was supposed to. I still have enough loose skin on my belly to make a whole new person ("twin skin" - one of the dirty little secrets of twin moms), but at least now my belly under it is as flat as can be. It definitely won't last long once I get pregnant - I'm sure I'll start eating like a horse from the day I get a BFP, so maybe it's good we're TTC another month so I can enjoy this body a bit longer.

OotB - the biggest trick to skipping breakfast for me is
1) coffee, and
2) keeping busy
I'm usually out and about with my boys in the mornings, so I don't have time to think about food. The few times I've stayed home for the morning with ds3 while my older boys were at school, I SUFFERED. Sitting at my computer gave me oodles of time to think about the food I could be eating if I weren't on this diet.
Good luck with weaning yourself off breakfast. I find it to be the easiest part of this diet - it's the no snacking rule that I have the most trouble with (and I do break the rule and snack in the evening - I suppose I should just call it my 3rd meal since without it I'd be eating only 800 calories a day and would literally waste away).

OoTB, if I can skip breakfast then anybody can! Seriously, I love breakfast - I'd eat a cooked breakfast every day if I could! I have a coffee with skimmed milk and sweetener when I wake up and another one at 10am and they really keep the hunger at bay. I drink lots in between too. You can do it :D

Just to reassure you guys, at some point your metabolism WILL stabilize and you'll stop losing.

Awww...Thx so much for the support and ideas guys! It really means a lot to me. :HH: I guess us "boy Moms" really love our brekkie! I've been really cutting back on it little by little since April. Before the sway, I was eating a veggie meal replacement called "Raw Meal" w/lots of healthy things in it and I would blend it w/kale leaves, blueberries and 100% cran juice. It made me feel like superwoman but it swayed boy big-time. I also had cut coffee out of my diet (trying to alkalinize my body as much as possible), ate 6 meals a day (all veggies and fruits with a bit of whole grains and nuts here and there) and was doing a lot of yoga. I looked and felt great! FF to now and it's just so weird...no whole grains, iceburg lettuce (which I now love!), no nuts and now no muscles...:worry: I'm just finding this whole thing very strange but I can do it. It's not terribly tough...it's just weird. I think I'll buy a donut today or tomorrow since on this diet, I CAN!!!

GREAT ADVICE!!!! I also struggled mightily with skipping breakfast when I was swaying pink (it didn't help that I was the only one doing it then and a lot of people thought I was kinda nuts LOL) and I found sitting at the computer just aggravated it.
PS - Mocha, keep in mind that it's FINE to eat 3 meals, I just don't want people eating every 15 minutes throughout the whole day.

Swish - what a yummy sounding meal you had! You deserve a cheat day after all the hell you went through with your late O!
Zanacal - it sounds like weight sways more than time of year. Besides, we all live in different countries with different seasons. I'm sure most of these stats were made for the U.S., and you don't really have the same extreme heat/extreme cold dichotomy we have in many parts of North America (correct me if I'm wrong - I've never lived int he UK, though I've visited many times).
Thoughts?
Re seasons - actually the stats are from Italy and I hope that the researchers branch out and do further studies. Chacha was brave and wrote to the researcher and I wish I was brave enough to do that!!!
I ~suspect~ that the seasons may sway MORE strongly in parts of the world with extreme cold and well-defined seasons. Rem that the reasons why seasons may sway are because the more fragile baby boys are more likely to survive when born in the spring when food is plentiful and weather is warm, rather than the winter when food is scarce and temps are bad so it would seem the mechanism would be even stronger in colder climes.
Re calories - Yes I def. think you should be getting more calories but I do also think at some point you're going to stabilize and stop losing.

Where I live it's the land of extremes. We go from complaining all winter about -40 degree Celsius windchills to moaning about summer days with 40 degree humidex. There are only about 10 days a year when Canadians aren't complaining about the weather .
That being said, I love our distinct 4 seasons and love something about each and every one of them!

Thanks Atomic. I guess my worry is that I know I don't get enough calories to begin with, so I fear I'm doing serious damage to my body now that I'm on my 3rd month on the diet. I'm really, really trying to add calories, but I find it a huge hurdle! I just bought a ton of girl friendly candy yesterday - Jelly Belly jelly beans, Mike & Ikes, Sour Patch Kids - to see if that will help. It seems everything I think of either has too much sodium or protein in it or is such a tiny source of calories (like most of the fruit I eat) that I'd have to eat a ton of it to make a difference (I'm already eating about 3 cups of strawberries a day as it is!). What about cranberry juice? It must have a lot of calories per glass...should I start drinking it or does it have too many nutrients in it?
atomic sagebrush
July 10th, 2011, 11:19 AM
No, that's a good idea, try adding a cup of cran juice (NOT the pure juice, get the "bad" one, the cocktail, with corn syrup in it LOL!!) That's like 150 cals right there if my notes are correct.
Normally I would tell people to try and avoid it due to the Vit. C BUT you have to eat something.

I find that very interesting about the seasons. I'm a fellow Canadian with extreme weather shifts so hopefully that is in my favour. The days when we TTC this month were some of the hottest of the year so far here.
I spent the day working in the yard doing manual lifting and laying grass so was super hungry by supper time.
MidMorning - yogurt cup
Lunch - 3 rice cakes, glass skim milk, bite of samoosa
Supper - (at restaurant) - 1/4 portion of penne with sauce, ice cream,

HAHAHA! So true! We can get down to around -37C without windchill but our summers suck here! It's not been more than 27C this year. My garden suffers every year:( I actually hate Alberta winters with a passion. I came from Vancouver originally, lived in the Okanagan for 10 years and then came to Alberta....I've been spoiled and really want to move back to the coast. I really hope to end up in Victoria in the next 5 years. Anyway, I don't think I'm ready for a Winter baby...March was terrible for me with a newborn and I really don't think I could handle it any earlier in the year....I'm just going to hope that the summer heat(the little amount that we get here;)) kills off those boy sperm:)

So here's me today:
Breakfast/Mid-morning: Coffee
Lunch: Vegeburger (the type with mushed up vegetables and breadcrumbs on the outside) and a few roast potatoes. Fruit crumble and cream for pudding! I took a few frozen raspberries, a couple of nectarines and some strawberries and cooked them with sweetener. I made a crumble topping from flour, sugar and butter but I only made 1/2 the usual quantity so it was sprinkled in it rather than drowned in it. It was really good!
Dinner: Bagel with peanut butter then a couple of boiled sweets.
Snack: 2 white chocolate fingers.

HA!My life revolves around food.....which is why I'm always 30 lbs overweight:( It takes about 3 weeks for me to be settled in a new way of eating....let's hope I get that far!
I have a question already.....
the one thing that is going to make or break this is my daily breakfast tea. I have to have 2 cups of tea a day or I will fail for sure. It's the one thing that I look forward to in the am and in the pm. I usually have coffee cream and sugar(1tsp) in it. I will not add apartame or splenda. Is sugar ok in that small of an amount twice a day? And the cream....would you put 1% milk in it instead? I won't use skim as it's like drinking water with white colour in it and rice milk would make me wanna hurl..... ;) LOL
Thanks Girls!

Well I don't take sugar in my tea but I'm eating enough of it elsewhere! I'd say it's fine so long as you're counting it in your daily allowances, likewise with the creamer - but how much protein etc. are in that? I'd switch to skimmed if it meant I could eat more when food is so limited anyway :D

DM - I was putting a bit of soy creamer in my coffee or tea in the a.m. but I noticed that if I drop it and put something more skim in there, my daily fat intake looks a lot better. If you can try skim, I would do that instead (I know it won't taste as good =[ ). Also, sugar is okay as long as it fits into your daily cals I think. My :twocents: GL! Well done, dm, on your first day, I really didn't think I could do it but once in the swing of it, it's a lot easier than I thought it would be! I agree that little amount of sugar should be fine. Also I think you have to include things that if you didn't you know you'd fail.
Ladies, I am also a food obsessive, the kind of person who plans dinner at breakfast time and checks out the menu of restaurants way before I go to see what I can eat!! I just keep reminding myself of how much I can eat when I get a bfp!!!
Today went like this
No breakfast
1 actimel just before lunch
Lunch at family's - 1 tomato and mozzarella bruschetta, vegetable terrine with 2 roast potato, carrots and parsnip puree, 1 biscuit with Brie (so tasty!!!)
dinner cous cous with beans, cucumber and leeks - not so tasty!!
I do my best on Sunday's but it's always a bit off, probably over on sodium particularly, I'll be good tomorrow.
No bfp signs, sure I'm not pregnant this cycle!

Ok, I've eaten all my meals today and I'm sitting at 750 calories. What should I eat to bring that number up? I was eyeing a full fat/full sugar chocolate covered ice cream bar in my freezer (and even started a thread about it), but after finding out that chocolate is linked with high testosterone, I think I'd better not. I'm out of frozen yogurt, and it has hardly any calories in it anyway. Should I go out and buy some regular vanilla ice cream? I've already had some cookies, and I'm planning to eat some fruit for my snack later, but that's not going to be enough to get me even close to my 1200 minimum. I thought I ate a pretty good lunch and supper (a sandwich and vegetarian quesadillas), so why are my calories so low??

I went grocery shopping and managed to find enough treats to bring me up to a reasonable calorie count for the day. here's what I had:
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: goat cheese and cucumber sandwich on toasted WW bread
Snack: popsicle (it was a scorcher here and my kids were having one so I joined them)
Supper: Vegetarian Quesadillas. I sauteed red pepper with some cumin and chili powder, then put it and a bit of shredded low fat mozzarella sandwiched between no sodium corn tortillas, then grilled them on the BBQ to make them nice and crispy (there was no way I was turning on the oven in this heat). I spread 1 tbsp of fresh salsa and plain yogurt on top of each one (I had two). It was yummy, but too low in calories, apparently. Peek Freans Lifestyle cookies for dessert
Snack (Actually, tonight I would call this meal #3 since I was only at 750 calories at this point): WW Carrot Cake (I'm so glad I finally found those Weight Watchers cakes some of you have been talking about!), Yoplait strawberry dessert yogurt, grapes, Sour Patch Kids

Hi dm, firstly, you're doing really well!!!! Some of us are not taking cal and mag (I'm not) as I'm going for low everything but quite a few are as it is a big part of a traditional sway, I can't remember the amount but I'm sure others will chime in. There was another thread about fat in which atomic basically said keep it low, that if you had reduced oil and butter and were eating the low everything diet then your fat should be fine. Protein should be 40, 50max. Those ttc girls need a bit more folic acid than in a normal pregnancy supp as we're not getting it in our diet, I'm taking 800. I think if you decide to take cal/mag you might as well get dh to as well.

DM - sounds like you did a great job! I find the protein to be the hardest to limit. I ate chicken and eggs for the first 3 weeks or so of the diet, then decided to drop them and fully join the 'low everything' diet. You've got the daily limits right. I drove myself crazy watching fat for a week or so, then Atomic said it would be almost impossible to eat too much fat if you're strictly following the diet, so I stopped worrying about it. As for calories, I'm a bad person to ask since I'm regularly too low. My calories average about 1200 a night, but I think it would be healthier for me to be closer to 1500. Hopefully atomic will chime in and suggest a limit for your situation.
I'm taking Cal/Mag (regular daily dose), Folic twice a day, Vitex (2 x 400mg per day), Saw Palmetto (1 x 160mg per day) and Baby Aspirin. I was taking Baby Aspirin every day, but I might start taking it every other day instead. DH isn't taking anything since he doesn't believe in swaying and it was hard enough to get him to agree to baby #4!
I hope this helps!

ive been on the diet for 6 weeks now. I do have treats like the merangues and i will have a bowl of cereal of a evning sometimes if im hungery rice krispies with skimmed milk and aspartame.
Im ok all week but then the weekend comes and im never busy at the weekends and all i think about is food lol
I have found that i love pepermint tea and drink about 3-4 cups a day. I also love the golden rice in the frozen bit in sainsburys someone was saying about on here. When i was eating more i wasnt loosing any weight and now i have lost only 5lbs (on a good day)

Twinkle – Everyone keeps talking about “tootie fruities”…I live in the U.S. so I don’t think we have those here. I totally want to try them since everyone loves them, it seems. Looks like you’re doing great but I don’t think I could survive on so little! I’m like you…on the weekends especially, I obsess over food (but I always have so that's nothing new). DH always likes to go out to eat and it’s really tough for me to not order something other than salad w/dressing on the side usually. This diet will be over some day… :cheer: BTW, looks like you're going to O today...are you TTC on this cycle? If so, GL!!!
Emmy - I’m so jealous….red velvet cupcake!!! That’s my first pick when I get a BFP! I don’t think that detour will derail your sway. It was a special occasion and I think you’re probably doing well the rest of the time!
Swish – How’s that 2ww going, hon? I call it the 2 year wait, lol. I’m sending you lots of BFP thoughts. xoxo
Mocha – Those quesadillas sound divine!!! I can’t find the right tortillas but I’m going shopping again today and will look. There's a kind I used to buy which are only 45 cals each w/pretty much no sodium so I could eat 5, lol. I love your last meal! I had sour patch kids yesterday too! I feel like such a kid gobbling candy. I did it to get my cals up since there wasn't much fruit in the house. I think you showed a lot of restraint in not eating the choc yesterday. I saw your thread but didn’t get a chance to post.
Zanacal – HI! I’m thinking about your fruit crumble as I type…YUMMO!
Doula – WTG, Doula!!! :agree: That baby food is not a bad idea! There’s actually a diet that’s going around where people eat only baby food since the portions are so small and there aren’t many additives/sodium in there. I think I heard Lady Gaga (among others) was doing that, lol. Seriously, I also got to the point yesterday where I wanted to gnaw off my arms too. It was okay until 7pm hit and I was already done w/dinner. Loud, audible SIGH.....
Calories are dependent on how much weight you need to sustain, correct?....so I have a lot to lose which would put me in the 1200-1300 calorie range.
Sodium is anywhere from 700-1000?
Fat is- ???
And Protein around 40, correct?...I just read the girl, low everything diet thread and AS posted something about being ok with under 50gr of protein. This will be the absolute hardest for me....I love my protein! And it's in everything!!!
For you, 1200 – 1300 cals is probably right on for now.
Fat – like the others said, just cut out the obvious sources and if you’re doing the diet right, it just falls into place! There…that should take a little bit of stress away! Girl swaying is a NO STRESS ZONE (or so I try to make it, lol).
Protein – 40 – 50 (I know…I love me some protein!!! Last summer when I lost my weigh, it was my BFF since it kept me nice and full…now fiber is my friend and seems to fill me up).
Sodium – 700 – 1000 :agree:
I quit taking my Cal/Mags since I’m not convinced Cal really sways and could maybe backfire if you’re not cutting cals (which we all are). I just panicked and quit taking it for now but that’s just me. Besides Folic (me – 1200 mcg), I take Acidophilus (just to help things inside) and non-fish DHA (which probably sways boy but I’m not budging on that one…again, that’s just me). I take Vitex, drink Pep T and Raspberry Leaf T (but this could sway boy as well…:sigh:)
Ready for day 2??? It's 09:45 here and still no brekkie. I picked a sesame seed off of my son's toast and ate it but other than that, just coffee. :nails: …..:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I agree! I'm dying to know what they are!!
I picked up some Jelly Bellies too since they're gelatin-free jelly beans (I only know that because my brother, who's a strict vegetarian will eat them). Is pectin ok for the girl diet?
I admit, I can't get through the long evening without snacking. I keep hoping that having low blood sugar all night/morning then all afternoon is enough. I'm loopy with hunger in the afternoon, though - I start watching the clock around 2 waiting for it to be early enough to have supper. I think the problem with both afternoon and evening is I spend a lot of time just sitting and watching the kids play (and snack).

Not sure if pectin is okay or not but it's got to be A LOT better than gelatin, which is like pure T, lol. I'm sure the meager amount of pectin you're consuming can't amount to anything which would really affect the sway. Just my :twocents:

Like you said, I think keeping busy is the key but in the afternoons, I get so tired now that I have no energy to do anything...I actually eat between 4 - 5 PM b/c the boys eat then and it always seems that DH gets home late. I try not to eat anything after dinner but it was especially rough yesterday. I say do what you can! Skipping brekkie is a huge step, I think.

You girls are all doing so well! And DM it sounds like you are off to a great start! It really does become so much easier as time passes.
Midday: 2 waffles, little butter, glass skim milk
Meal 2: 1/2 cup of penne with cheese sauce, glass skim milk
Snack: handful of jalapeno cheddar potato chips
I am now in the 2ww (2 high temps so far). I had chips for the first time yesterday. I will be back on the diet full force this week.

I find the evening a struggle to get thro i did try to eat nothing till the evening and eat all my allowance then but it was too hard. I do find the peppermint tea and the diet caffeine free coke fills a whole as long as you are not starving, i try and drink as soon as i feel a little hungry, Im praying for a BFP very soon so i can eat some nice junk food.

Hi everyone :D
I love that this thread is so busy - but I have some little people to get to bed and I don't have time to respond to everybody! Regarding supplements, I'm not taking calcium and magnesium (I believe calcium may raise testosterone and the 'you are what you eat' study found more calcium = more boys!). I just take 800mg folic acid, saw palmetto and vitex and a baby aspirin every other day. I also take Chitosan before meals. I find the key to not getting hungry and snacking in the afternoon and evening is diet coke - I drink tonnes of it now! I found the protein limit really difficult to begin with but I probably get between 30g and 40g most days now without too much effort. I am exhausted today though, this diet certainly isn't very energising! Today I had:
Breakfast/mid-morning: Coffee
Lunch: 2 slices ww bread, slice low fat soft cheese, packet cheese & onion hoola hoops!
Snack: iced bun and a cup of tea at a friend's house!
Dinner: 2 mini pitta breads, 1/4 tub reduced fat sour cream (I don't even like this stuff usually but I so fancied it today!), a few pieces of cucumber and red pepper for dipping and some lettuce and a couple of cherry tomatoes with balsamic and a tiny bit of feta cheese sprinkled on top. Also a jam tart and some strawberries, meringue nest and squirty cream.
DM - you weigh almost exactly the same as I did when I started this diet! Weigh in day tomorrow for me :D

I'm not even bothering with caffeine free any more as I discovered no caffeine was because it hinders absorption of calcium and I'm not including that in my sway :D Lots of diet coke means I spend most of the evening walking to and from the toilet though!!

Thank you Swish! I think after looking into it a bit more, I'm going to drop the cal/mag. I have a really hard time remembering to take the supps so far so adding to it will only make it worse... :) My DH has to take Mag for his muscles/back and for sleep....do you think this will affect our sway? He just told me that his Chiro told him to not take any Cal because he thinks that's what has been making his muscles tight.
Omg, twinkle, you're living on nothing!!! How long have you been on the diet?
I agree! Holy Dina!

Thanks Mocha! It does! I can't take the SP because of the nursing....but I'm wondering if baby aspirin would be a good idea every other day....maybe I'll start it 4 weeks out from my attempt....hmmmm. I think after a bit more research and looking at how much I want to lose, I'll stick with 1300 cals a day. I'd like to lose 2 lbs per week if I can. I know it's alot but I've done it before about 5 years ago...hopefully my body won't fail me now! HAHAHA!

Thank you for all the info! I agree...1300cals sounds right. I'm going to include probiotics in my diet as well I think. I have a big jar in my fridge just sitting there and it'll most likely help my guts if my body starts having troubles with this diet. I'm going to look at more fibre too.... :D If it helps fill me up....I need it! I had to laugh at the "babyfood" diet you mentioned above! I tell ya....it was sweet and yummy and I couldn't overindulge! I'm seriously going to include them in my diet! LOL Although I'll stay away from the mushy peas....
I think the problem with both afternoon and evening is I spend a lot of time just sitting and watching the kids play (and snack).
Ugh! Tell me about it! I just had my lunch(salad and the rest of the tin of tuna from yesterday) and then served up some Annies Mac and cheese for the kids...well I was still hungry! And looking at them eat their lunch almost sent me over the edge! I can do this...I can do this!
Wow - I'm amazed that you can eat supper at 4 and still keep yourself from snacking all night! We eat at 5:30 or so, and by 8 I'm ready for a snack!
Me too! I eat dinner at 6pm and stay up some nights til about midnight and it is seriously hard not to snack! I have to have a tea otherwise it's game over.

SOLD...no more Cal/Mag for me.... And about the Chitosan...do you know off hand if it's breastfeeding friendly??
Do you weigh yourself once a week? I'm actually a daily weigher when I diet but I'm thinking that it might be better to start doing it weekly instead. How long have you been on the diet for and how much have you lost? :) I'm actually quite excited about shedding some pounds and really....it's for more than just me...it's hopefully for a little PINK bundle!!!!
I'm not even bothering with caffeine free any more as I discovered no caffeine was because it hinders absorption of calcium and I'm not including that in my sway :D Lots of diet coke means I spend most of the evening walking to and from the toilet though!!

Hi all!
It is HECTIC on here, I am reading everyone's posts and keeping up to date with everyone even I don't individually reply!! I agree with everyone that some fizzy pop helps keep me from snacking, that or fizzy water. I think your body craves sugar on this diet so that's why so many of us want sweets!!! Lots of the girl mums say they ate loads of sugar. I'm still in the 2ww, no symptoms today!!! Today's food...
No breakfast
Lunch cous cous with beans, cucumber, leeks and one piece of Swiss cheese, yogurt, actimel
Dinner gf pasta with courgette and mushroom, ww ice cream sundae (thus was yummy!) a bit if frozen yogurt(I couldn't resist!) strawberries

Oooh swish, the ice cream sundae sounds lush - what flavour was it? I'm going to look out for that!
DM - I officially only weigh myself once a week but I won't pretend I don't sneak a peak in between! I definitely think it makes sense to only take note of your weight once a week though as our weight fluctuates so much on a daily basis. This will be my 6th week on the diet and as of last week I'd lost 18.5lb. I'd like to make it 21lbs (which is 1.5 stone) in 6 weeks if I can so fingers crossed! Check out the swaying while breastfeeding link as I asked lots of questions about cranberry/aspirin/Chitosan on there. I was nervous about taking Chitosan while BFing but I thought about whether I'd be nervous about eating shellfish and I wouldn't so I went for it in the end. I'm no longer breastfeeding and it's a relief not to have to worry about the other supplements. I was only going to take the baby aspirin very occasionally and after DS3's last feed of the day if I'd still been BFing. Regarding the calcium, make sure you're happy with your decision - I'd hate for you to be cursing me down the line if you think it's something you might regret not taking!

I had reservations about it anyway....so something was telling me not to take it....and I'm a big "sign" person anyways  so with most people saying that they don't it just confirms what I've been thinking about. And I would never blame someone else if my sway resulted in a boy! I will gladly love a little boy if that's what I'm meant to have :D
