Hi everyone! I wanted to join this group. My EDD is 22 of july. I´m expecting a girl after several months of swaying.
from2to3 Different pregnancy symptons are not key to know what gender you are carrying, but in my case the symptons were very different between both pregnancies, so, who knows? maybe you are carrying a little girl! good luck!

Hey everyone! I have been do busy lately preparing my older boys for baseball season and trying to get things together for the twins before they get here or I should say before I get to big to do anything!
I have been feeling pretty good just heavy :)
How is everyone?
It's so hard to believe that a few of the awesome ladies on here will soon be posting pictures of actual babies! We have all come so far from the stress and worry of the BFP!

Welcome Mariposa! Congrats on your baby girl x
momof3, I can imagine how you feel with two in there, I already feel like I am getting too heavy and I'm 'only' 24 weeks pregnant now!
It's kind of good to look pregnant though, not only fat (in my case, not yours, cause you are a fit lady). I'm going to the Doctor next tuesday, hope all is well. This little one is the quietest little bub I've ever had in there! She stirs but hardly kicks hard enough, which worries me sometimes. Will be reassuring seeing her again on the scan, thank goodness my Doctor does a scan every opportunity, it makes you feel so good when you see them moving and Doc says all looks normal. I got her a pink little cuddly bunny yesterday, actually DS chose it and he was so proud to be the one to choose his little sister's first cuddly! :) I'm involving him as much as I can as I am a bit worried that his recent sleep regression (from sleeping all night through to waking up every night, sometimes up to 5 times) has something to do with this baby coming and him not being really ready to stop being the baby in the house. Anyone else had this kind of problem?
Hope you girls are all well. x

Is there a chance you have an anterior placenta? I do with baby girl and she was so quiet until yesterday now I feel her more. I constantly feel baby boy because his is not anterior.
I am heavy and HUGE but love every second of it

Welcome Mariposa and congratulations :)
From2to3, add me in to the list of people who have had those exact same feelings. I am still pretty sure at my next appointment I will be told a boy so I haven't gotten my hopes too high in fear of disappointment. It will be ok, I promise :HH:
Maybe, hope your scan went well today, hope you update us soon!
AM, i took am feeling this little one a tiny bit even though the Dr told me last time that my placenta moved. It scares me a lot too but I have felt her on the very rare occasion where she kicked really hard :/
Nothing has really changed on my end, next appointment is May 5th so it's a long way from now. I might cheat and go in one day announced but we shall see lol

From2to3 - thinking of you!! I hope all is well and you hear (heard) pink!! Your feelings are completely normal and totally understandable!!
I had my follow up u/s on Monday and got the call today that all is well with baby girl!! (I figured it would be, but still scary!) sorry I've been so quiet, we've been hit with the stomach flu in our house for the past THREE WEEKS!!! Uggggh it's been awful and yes, I've been lucky enough to get it too. So awful!! I hope all you ladies are doing well!!

2to3- your feelings are very normal. I knew this baby would be our last and with no girls in either of our families, just a few, I thought for sure another boy. You just need to give yourself time and realize these emotions. Hugs to you!
AM- I feel like my little one is quite at times too. She has her regular movement times, very active in the morning and little bit throughout the day. But overall seems mellow.
Mel- sorry about the stomach flu, that's awful when being pregnant too!
I'm doing good, time is going by. Still working on nursery and names. I think I have a name but going back and forth. Working on the a crib canopy so that's been keeping me busy. I can't help but wonder if I will go early or late with my last!! I keep thinking late!

I'm praying we are all over it! 3 out of 5 of us got it, so hopefully DH and DS1 stay in the clear!
We've decided on Maci Rae-Germaine :) Rae for my grandpa (Raymond) and Germaine for my grandma! (She has 30+ grandkids and this will be her 11th great grandchild and not one of them is named after her! I can't wait to tell her!!) what are the names you have picked?! (I always thought naming twins would be so fun!)

We didn't go with matching names because the names I liked I had picked out before we found out they were twins so we actually got to use both! They are Griffyn Merrick and Braya Cheyanne!
The B C is after my grand parents and so is the G M their first names and last (maid an and married)
I know I hear all the time oh Braya that's nice but you should name him Brady or Brayden to match.....no I'm good :)

Last ultrasound he said my placenta was at the back, so posterior, maybe I should feel her more? It's not that I don't feel her, she's just so subtle, she's more flutters and stirs than kicks. Maybe I just got used to the boys kicking the hell out of me a lot and I'm feeling strange that she is a bit quieter, every single scan I only had good news but I would be more at ease if I could feel here more. Mind you, the other night when Aidan kept me awake all night, like slow torture, every hour or so and I got quite upset and ended up getting loud with him and then went to bed sobbing because I felt like crap (after days of bad sleeping, I guess you get that), it's like she sensed it and she kicked a lot, like nonstop as if the poor thing was suffering with me. That's the most I felt her move, and if being a bit quieter means she is relaxed (because I am) then maybe that's best? I just worry, that's all, silly old mum :) I'm sure everything will be alright next tuesday when I see her again.

Lovely names girls! :) I love them! We are warming up more and more to Anya, even Aidan calls my bump Anya now. I guess we're going to end up commiting to it, but there's still time to change. My sister and mum love it, I love it too, it's just that there aren't many out there and I'm afraid to be biased and give her a name she will hate when she grows up.

Hi Mariposa: Congrats on your girl :)
From2to3 - I'm sure it goes without saying - we're all here cause we have or have had the same feelings, fears, and GD... nothing you say will surprise us! understanding these similar feelings make us feel normal and not the inhuman beasts that we're made to feel by our nearest and dearest :/
As the second it doesn't get easier with the third time (should they say boy that is) I really hope that you hear girl, but in the instance that you should hear boy, please try to not be me, cause I still regret it till this day that when they told me boy I jumped off the bed into the bathroom screamed, cried and wished for this thing to disappear from my womb. My sweet baby boy, I look at this 20 month old blonde haired boy and my heart aches for the feelings I had towards him.
Another thing I would have them write it in a piece of paper and open it by yourself - as this time I watched the screen and concentrated on the baby - then drove to the beach and opened the envelope. Either way there will be tears and a sonographer will not understand. Hugs :)

Hi all...haven't been on in a while... one kid has tonsillitis, one has hand foot and mouth disease, school holidays are starting so that should be fun not to have any time to myself ;)... But things are all good there's hardly time to even think about being pregnant with a business and a 5,3 & 1 year old! - I have to remind myself how far along I am on pregnology site or I would forget lol... Baby kicking heaps now and I've taken the next step the tags off clothes...
My DH refers to the bump as she and her, and it gives me tingles every time. I want time to hurry up and slow down at the same time.

Lovely names girls! Who knew this part would be the hardest.
Our first pick is Makayla Ann, then Madyson Ann and now added Alexis Ann. I'm thinking she is a Makayla then we have a choice to nickname her we want later with Kayla.

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't been on, doing good but things have been crazy here also. So glad to hear most of you are doing well & I love all of the name choices! Sorry for those that have been sick or have little ones sick hopefully everyone will be feeling better soon!
Feeling baby move a lot more now but he is still not a big kicker either. He is much more subtle with flutters poor DH hasn't felt him at all yet. They did tell me my placenta was anterior so I keep reminding myself that's all it is. I would feel so much better though if we got more nice strong kicks. Last night he was laying in a way where I could totally feel him like a hard rock scrunched all up to one side of my tummy. It was so cool but I was bummed DH was at work because he def could have felt that! Have done some shopping & picked him a couple of cute outfits. Still don't like looking over at the girl stuff but I guess that will get better with time.
Busy weekend ahead my DD has a softball tournament out of town than Mon I have my next Dr. appt. Can not wait to hear LO's heart beat again!
Have a great day all!!

hi everyone,
i haven't been on here for a while.. just thought i would check in and see how everyone is doing... so i had an experience the other day that made me upset.. i realized what it is about finding out the gender is peoples reactions. one of my girlfriends when i told her i was having another boy said, "wow you are CURSED with boys" it was sooo hurtful! i was thinking to myself.. i am so blessed to have these magical little souls in my life and she just told me i am cursed. so rude. anyways... moving beyond that..
for those of you who heard girl (HUGE congrats!) i am totally jealous. ;)
for those that heard boy.. i'm sorry and know how you are feeling.. just so you know the first week was sad for me and i was obsessing about having another baby and going high tech.. bc i was so desperate to feel like i still had a chance at a girl.
i will eventually entertain that option, but something happened and i had a huge shift.
i started getting really excited about my little boy, picked his name, and started ordering stuff from etsy for his nursery. i went to visit a friend who just had her second baby boy, and it made me realize that moment when you first meet them, and no matter what you just can't believe the little human is a creation you made. they are so pure and the room is always filled with so much light and joy when they come in. when my other two boys were born, they both brought lots of luck to our family (with finances) i am convinced it was them that brought us this.. so i am sure this next little fella will bring some gift as well.
i have been talking to him in the womb and letting him know i cant wait to see his little face, and what kind of personality he will have.
just thought i would let you ladies who are experiencing GD know, that it will get better. i think once i decided on a name he became real to me. and i started to test out his name on birth announcements, and i got so happy!!!
anyways, thanks for letting me rant... and i am really feeling good and optimistic about my future.. 3 little boys what a blessing! and if a girl comes eventually great, if not thats okay also.

Thanks ladies. I'm just numb right now. Hasn't fully hit me, but enough to where I'm sad, and depressed about stuff. I know I'll love this child and he's a blessing, that's not what I'm worried about. I loved DS2 right away but I still felt like something was wrong or missing everyday and I was distracted and almost bitter. Don't want to feel like that the rest of my life.
To top it off they found an echogenic focus of the heart and we need to go up and get a specialized ultrasound. Dr isn't worried because it's just a "soft marker" and everything else looked great and healthy but for us it's just enough to cause us to worry about downs

A similar thing happened to me with ds3. They saw something on his heart and the ob went on to say I was going be high risk and the baby would be rushed after delivery for heart surgery. She was giving me the worst case scenario. I then had a specialized echocardiogram on the baby while in the womb and everything was completely normal. It was just a calcification.
I am hoping everything is fine with your guy!

From2to3 we just found out that we are having a boy after swaying for a girl. I cried for the first few days. I completely understand the numb feeling. Our daughter has called the baby "baby sister" since the beginning and was upset to find out it was a boy and that made it harder on me. I'm hoping in a few weeks the numb feeling will get better for you. Hugs.

Thanks ladies, I truly do appreciate everything! It just felt like everything was finally making sense and falling into place...just to find out I was dead wrong!! I just have to accept that me and my family aren't meant to have a girl for whatever reason. And there is no doubt it's a boy, even a 4 yr old can see that. But at least I didn't have my hopes up the whole pregnancy to be "let down" at delivery.
I don't know when our scan will be. They are supposed to call anytime. I thought our doctor told us we had the option to do the MaterniT21 blood test instead, so I'm not sure which we will do or when.
Hope all is well

Hi ladies. Hope you are all doing well. I am going to my Doctor's appointment today. Little one is more active now, I feel her more often, I guess she's finally filling up the empty spaces and running out of room to stretch her little legs :). Will be good to see her on scan again today.
Just found out my sister is pregnant again and I was quite surprised the has a bit of GD this time. Her first was a girl and she really wanted a boy this time, more for her husband's sake who comes from a traditionally strict japanese upbringing and apparently a boy is a big deal for him, the thing is, she is not sure she wants to have anymore children, so he's already 'telling' her they will try again after this little girl, she's only 10 weeks and found out with blood testing as well. We were so excited thinking if might have been a boy as I have so many cute boy outfits to pass on... but not to be. She says it was an 'accident' though, 5 days before O, I guess Shettles worked for this one. :)

To my knowledge I've not had any yet (I take it is not something you'd miss!) I have had one or two times where my tum feels hard but I've put it down to it being baby leaning heavily on the area. When does it usually start?

From2to3, sorry you didn't hear pink...
Our little bubs also has a echodense focus, but if all other soft markers are normal, than here they do no follow up. I looked into it and there is no predictive value of a focus on down's syndrome if only the focus is the only 'abnormal' marker. The sonographer assured us it was only calsification, and commonly seen.
Well, we did the harmony blood test, so i'm positive she hasn't down's syndrome. Maybe materniT21 is a good idea for you, if your doctor opted that.
Hope everything turns out just fine. GL

bunny I had no Braxton hick with any of my first 3 kids. Had them with #4 & been having them already with this lo. They can start at any time or you might never have one.
Hope everyone is doing well! Been busy trying to get things set up for baby. I know its a little early but I'm trying to have everything done before my kids get out of school in May. Going for a 3d ultrasound on the 18th so my kids can see their baby brother. They are all excited to finally get a good look at him & so am I!

This is the most I ever had them. I barely had them before. I remember with my first being in the hospital hooked up to the machine and they said oh, did you feel that? I said no and thought it was just the baby laying or pushing hard since my tummy got tense but didn't heard. That's when I learned they were Braxton. They weren't bad today. Been drinking tons if water today, that helps.
It would feel really tight, but like I said this is #4 and the most I have had them.

She wanted the 'pigeon pair'.... like the majority of people but I guess she has to figure out that if she had all boys would her husband allow her to try again for a girl?... I know that if mine were all girls we would be trying for that boy.
Unfortunately I dont think he would be that pushy for a girl, he's got that thing that some men have, they need a boy, period. I don't understand it but it sounds like the pressure is on now for her to 'produce' a boy!

snips, I am also starting to feel the Braxton Hicks and I'm only 25 weeks along, they are pretty uncomfortable, specially at the end, but the more frequent the closer it gets to see your baby :) Bring them on :)

I'm glad to hear that most of you are feeling well.
Not sure, but I might have had a Braxton Hicks contraction or two. The little one has been kicking more but I don't feel him too often. His heartbeat is very active.
I've been busy getting things ready and trying to save for a maternity leave as well as fill a nursery (challenging to do both at once!)
DH has been much more supportive lately. He's starting to not be so depressed and to think of a few things he might like to do with our kid when he's a little older. I think once the baby is born we'll be ok.
We decided to take a vacation in May before the baby arrives and that has raised both our spirits. 'm starting to really wonder what this little one will be like.

Hi girls. Here is some free stuff or discounted items that I have ordered. On carseatcanopy.com use code pjbaby and get $50 off. I need opinions if you happen to look. I am deciding between Angelina or lovely design?? I love the sharp blue and gray chevron for boys!
Also on their site go to their sister sites and get free baby leggings, nursing cover or nursing pads. Usually just pay shipping with codes.
Thanks!

What a gorgeous bump bunny! Only 10 weeks to go! OMG! It's hard to believe all of us that got together to talk about BFP's a morning sickness are getting closer and closer to holding our babies.
Went to my Doctor's appointment, little one is well. Remember I said she was the quiet type? Forget about that, this last week she's been kicking a lot! And I love it. Entering my 26th week now. Moved DS to 'big boy's bedroom' yesterday, now nursery is free to decorate, time to start having fun :) Have a good weekend girls! x

Only 10 weeks coming Tuesday, that's gone insanely fast! That means only six work weeks left! Wow... Really need to sort out my hospital bag.
Our little guy was a quiet little man too - it's almost as if he one day decided to flip a switch to 'action' mode. Even DH was surprised the amount of kicks and movement which he couldn't feel the week before.
Hoping DS settled into his big boy room and the nursery decoration goes well. Looking forward to seeing piccies!

Sorry for hijacking the thread 😉 but just wanted to say that is such a gorgeous baby bump momof3boyz!! At 26weeks with the twins I was HUGE, nothing like that cute bump of yours! 💜
I was actually at the shops one day at about 22 weeks and a woman abused me and said being "that pregnant" (not knowing i was having twins obviously) that I shouldn't be out at the shops and how selfish and disgusting of me because what if I went into labour at the shops!! Rude woman!! 😠
It's good to read how well you all are, you're all making me so clucky and so excited about getting to where you are with the pregnancy! Seems so far away, but I'm sure it will go fast! Just can't even wait til my first scan and seeing the heartbeat! 😊❤️.
Anyway, sorry again for crashing the thread. 😕

I have about 60ish days until I get to go home to KY woohooo!!! My in laws are getting really excited and are getting ready for us to get there!! I will need to call my Dr as soon as I figure out when exactly I will be leaving to go home and hope that she is not too busy to take me!! I loved her with son#2 and I would love it if she could deliver my last baby too :) Other than that nothing is really going on, weather is beautiful as always, haven't worn winter clothes in almost a year!
Hope everyone is doing well!!

Thanks but as I am sure you can relate I feel heavy and huge! Unfortunately I have developed pregnancy induced carpal tunnel and can't grin anything with my right hand :( other than that everything has been going well. I just get happy when we hit the milestones first it was 24 weeks next is 28 32 34 and 36! My husband and I go to dinner every time we hit one :) we went at 12 weeks and 24 ;) I hope we get to hit them all and they stay in.
Congrats on the pregnancy! I hope the little bean is healthy as can be!

I am SO uncomfortable at 21 weeks, I will be asking for an induction as soon as I am able to do so!! I am meeting with the Embassy nurse/PA this week or the next to discuss my exit plan from this awful place!!
I cannot wait to go to Olive Garden, to Cracker Barrel, to Outback, eat at McDonalds and all the goodness the US has to offer!!!

Oh no! How frustrating! How far along are you now? Will you have to pay for a gender scan? If so, I think I'd be tempted to wait a little and find out at your next growth scan if it's not very far off. Hoping baby cooperates next time!

Hey ladies!! Glad to see everyone is doing well! Things have been crazy here! I'm almost done babysitting (my choice as the little girl I babysit is SO bad and I just can't handle her anymore!) but now I'm frantically looking for another job as I still want to help out financially! We also are in the process of switch from a regular OB to a midwife birthing center. I originally was seeing a midwife and planning for a homebirth, but we just can't afford it. I meet with the new midwives next Tuesday and have my first appointment on May 5th (I'll be 30+6!! Seems so late to switch!) I'm nervous and excited! I'm loving all the bump pics!!! Here is mine from last week (27 weeks)

I guess he's having a go at me because I was a bit on the bigger side before falling pregnant. The first 20 weeks I put on only about 6 lbs but once the morning sickness was over I put on 13lbs just like that, in 6 weeks! I always get big when pregnant so I'm not that worried, but you know how Doctors are! I thought it was too good to be true when he told me I was gaining weight very slowly at first, it's usually the opposite with me :)

Know it's a bit sad to be done but am more and more excited that we are done and this is my family:) my body gets so sore at night And it's hard to keep up with my boys.
I was gaining a lot in the beginning and my dr. Cautioned me. But I was really underweight due to the sway. So I cut out sweets and exercised, now she says. Haven't put much weight on the last 2 visits:/....really, what do you want?
She is measuring right on so that's all that matters.
I have a feeling she will be a June baby and will be late with her....I was always 4 days early with the boys.

It is exciting to hear that some of us are getting so close to due dates! Time is flying.
My doctor says I'm gaining too much weight too. If I gain another pound a week until the end of pregnancy I'll be over 35-40 lbs weight gain. I have always been a little bit overweight so I think they wanted me to keep it to 25-30 lbs.
For those of us who swayed pink... it seems kind of hard to know how much weight was put on due to pregnancy and how much might have been gained back just because we stopped dieting. You know what I mean? And then with the winter holidays and winter weather here I always gain an extra 4-5 lbs.... So it is tough to know whether or not to be concerned about it.
I'll be careful about eating mostly but in May we're going on vacation and I am not going to worry about it!

Gafan, it makes sense, of course we will put on weight just because we are dropping the diet, and then with pregnancy, it is a recipe for packing up loads. Unfortunately I didn't lose that much weight with dieting as I fell pregnant pretty fast, I lost about 7 or 8 kg (not good with lbs) at first, then put on about 2 or 3 and then fell pregnant, and I was slightly overweight before soooo, I am far from my ideal weight :( But I think that if all your tests are good then there's not much to worry about, been there 3 times before, the last 2 Doctor wasn't happy with my weight gain and all went well, so I'm not too concerned.

The same thing happened to me with this pregnancy. I failed 1 hr but passed 3 hr. I always passed the 1 hour with the other 3 pregnancies. I think it's 1 in 3 fail the 1 hour. It's very common. But then pass the 3 hour. I asked the lab lady her thoughts and told her how I ate granola bars and a banana before the test she thinks it has something to do with it. But they tell you to eat normally for the 1 hour. Don't stress over it. If you do end up having it I'm sure you can do diet control and be fine.

Time is flying! Glad to see all of you are doing so well! Had a 3d ultrasound on the 18th & it was so great to see our little man. I will try to get picts up when I have a sec. DD was bummed at the ultrasound kept asking if we could just change the baby to a boy. She really has taken this so much harder than I have. Hoping once she finally sees & holds him she will be happier.
Feeling pretty well except for the heartburn that started a few weeks ago. Actually it is not as bad as previous pregnancies but hits at the most random times. I hate when it wakes me up at night. I'll be 28 weeks Monday & we have a dr. apt that day. Per the ultrasound baby is 5 days bigger than my EDD. Keeping a close eye on that cause my DD was 9.8lb & DS3 was 8.5lb & they were both a couple of days before their due dates.
Funny DS1& DS2 share the same bday. DS3 is 7/17 & this one is due 7/26 have a feeling that they could share a bday also. Don't know how I could manage that twice!?!?! LOL
Hope everyone continues do well. The next month will fly by for me between the kids sports & the end of school. Feel like baby will be here before we know it!!

32 weeks and was scan day today! Just a check to make sure the placenta has moved up a little in the past few weeks. They weren't too worried at the last appointment but the hospital has 'a protocol' I was a little lower than. Scan went well! He was napping again, but this time was very good and wasn't curled up in a little ball so the sonographer could get decent measurements. He's still dead on target for size - 1.913kg (4lb 3oz) so has put on 3lb in just over 6 weeks. No wonder he suddenly feels so heavy!

** Further update from pumpkin: **
"First of all let me tell you that we are doing good and babies are still in!
I picked up DS from kindergarten but already felt weird. We've been to the drug store and the playground and went home when I needed to pee really bad. After a few minutes I thought something has to be wrong because the water didn't stop running and when I looked into the toilet it was all bloody (sorry TMI I know!). I started panicking and of course DH didn't answer his phone so I called my parents in law to pick up DS and then set up an emergency call. At the hospital a doctor confirmed that Milan's water broke and gave me a steroid shot immediately to help the babies lungs to mature faster. I will need another one tomorrow. I had some contractions that I didn't feel but cervix is still closed. Now I am on meds 24/7 to stop the contractions and antibiotics twice a day. Oh and bed rest of course. Only allowed to get up to the toilet and take a shower every few days. We are trying to keep the twins in until at least 33weeks, 34 would be so much better. Please keep us in your prayers, every single day matters now and I just don't want them in NICU!
I kind of felt they would be born early but I didn't see that coming!"

Speaking of which, does anyone think it's a good idea to have a labor buddy so that everyone is on top of everything?
If people are up for that, then yes it sounds like a great idea! Not sure how it'd be organised though  - would it be a FB thing, or handing out mobile phone numbers so you can send a text message or some other way? What do you guys think?

I guess whatever people found more comfortable or something. If it was phone numbers I would have to be the same country to avoid charges I assume.

Grease, it is a great idea but how would we do it? Not sure if phone is a good idea because of how distant some of us are? Maybe e-mail or FB? Also a buddy would have to be a few weeks apart to give birth or both could be going at the same time and not be able to notify anybody. Maybe we can pair up by due date??? Like 2 weeks apart or so?

Just need to share something ladies, it's a bit of a sad day today. Remember I mentioned my sister was pregnant with a baby girl? Well she's 15 weeks along. At the 12 week scan they found 3 markers for Downs and a bad heart condition that would require the poor little thing to go to heart surgery right after birth, so all things considered my sister decided to terminate her pregnancy. The poor thing is so upset it breaks my heart. It's her 4th miscarriage and two of those were due to trisomies (first at 6 weeks, second at 9 weeks, third at 13 weeks (girl + fetus tested and had another trisomy), then 1 healthy baby girl, and now another girl with Downs and this heart problem. It's so sad to see someone close to you go through this! And I am so sad for the poor baby and my sister and just feeling like crap :(

Further on pumpkin: it was Milan's waters that went, Liah's is still intact. Doctors don't think she'll make it much further than 34 weeks, but that's all she really needs, then the babies should only need to stay in for a short time.
"....The babies have a good weight, Milan is weighing 2000gr and Liah 2089 so that's amazing for 31 weeks. Doctors are saying they don't necessarily have to go into NICU if they will be born any day soon, it depends on the weight (which is already enough to stay with me in a room) and if they will be able to breathe on their own. It doesn't matter if they have blood sugar issues or can't hold their temps they could keep an eye on it even if the babies are in a normal room with me.
...I am not leaving the hospital without the babies anymore. They are monitoring me closely now. I will have an ultrasound everyday to check on the waters and they'll do bloodwork everyday to ensure I don't get an infection."

As for the heartburn...oh my! I barely had any with my first, though he had more hair than my second. This one is by far to worst! Started a few weeks ago and it's almost constant, esp if I eat any tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, salsa, seasoned chips, you name it! I think milk is going to be my best friend!

** Further update on pumpkin **
She had her 2nd (and last) steroid shot last night, but she lost more amniotic fluid during night and had started to feel what felt like strong menstrual cramping this morning. She sends her thanks to all for their support at this time.
"...Well i just talked to the doctor and she wasn't very hopeful that we'll make it longer than a few more days max. I am off to get my heart checked and will then get some information regarding a c-section from her. Will have to sign the papers for it today in case it needs to be done quick. She said they will have to be in NICU once they are born. I am so unbelievably sad, don't want to be separated from my babies. Can't stop crying. I had such a wonderful pregnancy, very uneventful and now this..."
"...I talked to the doctor again an hour ago and she said at this gestation and with the steroid shots I can be very hopeful that they'll only need to stay in NICU for one or two nights just to make sure they are doing ok. She also explained that I can be with them 24/7 and nurse them and hold them and that all the nurses will try to involve me as much as possible. Very relieved right now but of course we'll need to see how they will be doing once they are born to be able and say 100% what the next steps will be."

"Went to the the bathroom and started bleeding. Now off to see the doctor. So worried!!!..."
"What a nightmare... it wasn't the mucus plug, it was pure blood. By the time the doctor was ready to see me I was bleeding very heavy it was just running down my legs and I had strong and regular contractions. Both babies are with their feet down now which means I'll need a c-section . Anyways, I was bleeding so heavy that they needed to call one more doctor and now I am on some very strong meds to stop the contractions. They are helping pretty well and the bleeding subsided by a lot but my heart is racing like crazy and my body is shaking. I can't even really type this message. The nurses are saying my body will get used to the meds by tomorrow. As for now we could stop labor once again but I really don't think they will stay in for much longer. What a rollercoaster!
By the way, I sent the message that I am bleeding almost 8h ago that's how bad the internet connection in this hospital is! I am back in my room for an hour now..."

I was wondering the same thing, but thinking they may be keeping them in as long as possible purely because of the breathing. I'd imagine if they thought they were under threat, especially given the bleeding they'd take them out then, but is hard to say what's going on from this end :( Just hoping all goes well and without further incident.

My dr says everyday inside is one out of the nicu. I understand why they aren't taking them yet but they will if either baby shows signs of distress. As long as mom is ok or I should say stable they will leave them in.
My dr told me at my last appointment that there have been twins born weeks apart because ones water broke but the other was still ok to stay in! That's crazy to me
So scary!

"I had another scan today and doctors are saying I am bleeding because babies are changing positions so often. Milan was head down again today. I am so worried because the bleeding just won't stop. I am ashamed of having guests because once it starts I can't hold it and I never make it to the bathroom in time. Don't even have enough clothes to change that often. I am having some contractions again even though I am on meds 24/7 already but doctors are saying they haven't been affecting my cervix yet so we can keep waiting. It's just torture not to be able to tell what is happening and what is coming next. They didn't want to say anything as to how much longer we will be able to let the twins in which is so frustrating. How can they even keep waiting another week or two with heavy bleeding like this?!
I am on iron pills and every morning they do blood work to check if I need replacement. I have to call the nurses whenever the bleeding gets stronger and they check the babies heart rate with a belly belt. Babies seem to be fine, thank god! I am using 3 large maternity pats at a time but once I notice the bleeding I have to run to the bathroom because they are soaked within seconds. I had to change clothes and shower two times last night. I am just wondering were all the blood is coming from but nobody besides me seems to be worried about it."
I believe she's going to talk to nurses/doctors to find out what's going on for sure. Hopefully will give her some peace of mind...

So exciting! Question from a first time mum-to-be: when you start dilating like you are at the moment, does it feel... different to the rest of the pregnancy? Any extra pain or pressure or does it just happen and you're non the wiser until you're told?

Praying for pumpkin and her babies. I am sure they are keeping them in to mature their lungs, 1 week makes such huge difference with that sort of thing, it must be extremely distressing for her, what a situation! I'm sure she will be glad she waited when the babies are out and better for having stayed, but it doesn't make it any easier for now.
Snips, I am so excited for you! Time will fly now. Whenever I get to 36-37 weeks I get very impatient and start begging for it to end, with the pressure on the cervix and the feeling that you are trying to hold a watermelon in there as you walk (that's how heavy I feel!), but the pressure is all down there, it's awful! lol
As for dilation I never felt a thing other then the cervix pressure at the very end when the baby's effacing, and that can last for a few weeks. I am also curious to know if other women feel it differently.

I don't really feel any different. Now that she is head down and moved down a little bit, I sometimes feel a little extra pressure, but not much. Once contractions start you will know the difference. They feel like bad menstrual cramps that occur every 5 minutes, etc. I remember with my first I started leaking a bit so went to the hospital, they hooked me up to a machine and said there was a contraction and I didn't even feel it. Every pregnancy and baby is different.
My ds2 happened so quickly and contractions weren't bad, I had no epidural or pain meds. Tried to do the same for ds3 but the contractions were too intense and I needed the epidural!
Will try natural again, but if I can't do it epidural here I come:)
I must say the birth I had with no pain meds, I felt great afterwards and the baby was so alert.

Pumpkin said she had a good night and hadn't bled too much. Babies are doing great. She has spoken with medical staff today about her blood loss and the way forward. After weighing up the information she's opted to have a c-sec before any anything unexpected happens as thy couldn't tell her where the bleeding is coming from. Little Milan is head down, Liah isn't. They think her body wouldn't take well to labour so best not to risk it and induction could take days (cervix isn't favourable - sorry Pumpkin - tmi?). Soooo babies either today or tomorrow!

Menlc, such a lovely bump! Momof3boyz that's a fantastic bump for 30 week twins - so neat! How are you both feeling (apart from heavy!)
Aidansmum, I'm still not feeling particularly hungry. I haven't at all as such on this pregnancy. I'll have bits to eat but never what I'd call a hearty meal. I'd imagine at this stage it's partly a space thing too. I took it up with the midwife, she said he's right on target so as long as I'm eating the right stuff and taking the Pregnacare she's not worried.
Aww GreaseMonkey, how frustrating! Glad all seems to be well though - she may decide to play catchup soon! Going home must be a huge weight off your mind. I hope it goes well - not long now!
AFM, not a lot to report - 33 and a half weeks and fine. Little guy isn't so little any more and getting quite heavy. Not quite sure what he's doing in there, but feels like a cross between moving furniture and yoga! Even DH is asking if he should be feeling stretches, knees and feet like that! So exciting, but slow down little guy, especially at 3am! Thinking my milk is coming in too (woke with a little dried milk yesterday). Still can't get my head round how I'll be able to produce enough for him to have full meals from at the moment very little/nothing.

Bunny, reading your post I remember my last boy, my tummy used to actually move in waves, it was bizarre how hard he moved in there! This little girl is still much quieter in comparison, but she moves overnight, pretty much everytime I wake up, or maybe I wake up because she moves. But I'm 29 weeks, it might get tighter in there soon and she will likely be doing the big kicks and stretching. I still feel her kick very low though, I'm sure she's not in the position she's meant to be.
mo3b11, that sucks! I'm waiting for my results as well, for the 2 hour one, hopefully I won't have to repeat it, I hate seating there waiting to get tested, Chances are you will pass the 3 hour one, but even if you don't, gestational diabetes is pretty easy to control these days. Fingers crossed. x

This pregnancy my girl does not stop moving and I basically she has dropped so low that i am in the worst pain and I can barely walk. I get the worst pelvic pain on both sides of my hips and my legs when I sleep! I am ready to have the baby, but I am not ready to have 2!!! Just hope my lil guy is ok with sharing his mommy with his baby sister!!

At parent education classes at the hospital. Honestly I wasn't looking forward to it at all but has turned out to be really informative and quite fun. Everything from what to do if baby decided to come early and no warning, pain relief, birthing positions, looking at equipment used during different births. Off to breastfeed a teddybear in a minute! :-)

I did the classes with Aidan because the age gap between him and DS2 were huge and I had DS1+2 in Brazil and DS3 in Australia, and I was amazed at how much changed! You always get something out of it. I remember being shown a forceps and a ventouse and I shivered! I guess I had a premonition as Aidan was pulled out with the ventouse, not fun! I'm skipping the classes this time, I am pretty confident I know what to expect. Glad you enjoyed yours.

Bunny, I never did the classes but I plan on doing it this time around!
AM, I didn't do them with my boys but really want to do it this time around because with my doula, I am hoping to be induced and then proceed with no other medication (if possible lol)

Excuse my ignorance Maria, but is there a difference between a doula and a midwife??? I never really researched that kind of thing even though I read a lot about labour, etc. And really, after 3 you would think you know pretty much enough to get by :)
I am having Anya at a private hospital, with a private Doctor of my choice because it makes me feel safer. We've been discussing the possibility of a C-section instead of natural labour, reason being, I has a hard time to have Aidan and it brought me lots of complications, I actually nearly ended up having a C-section with him as he got stuck (being in an awkward position) and was only delivered by ventouse after hours of excruciating pain with the Doctor trying to move him inside to get him in the right position (apparently it was too late for an apidural). It was hell and to be honest it left me pretty scarred with the whole thing, I was not afraid of having a baby before having him, now I am feeling anxious and pretty scared. At the end my body had tried so hard it gave up contracting and they had to use drugs to get my body to make more contractions, it was pretty ugly. So the Doctor said that if my frame of mind is not ok for natural labour he will not stop me from scheduling a C-section BUT I don't want to be cut and have a surgery either, which leaves me only natural labour with an epidural this time, but I am really scared I will go through the same thing and can't shake it off! I don't really know what to do and the time is coming for me to decide. Frying my brain over it :/

How is everyone? GT your getting close! So excited, I hope you share some pictures. I am 37 weeks and still feel about the same, I might have dropped a little. I get checked tomorrow to see if anything more is going on. We are starting to get some 80 degree weather, which I love but not when I'm pregnant...I saw you were doing the buddies. I should have easy access on my phone with the internet. It was never a problem with my others. I will update on the boards when I know something is happening:)

AM the difference is that a midwife can deliver a baby whereas a doula can only help you with labor and be your coach basically.
I was induced with the boys and medicated so not really sure what labor feels like lol I was planning on doing everything the natural way this time around but with so much trouble and baby being as low as she is as soon as I go home and have my appointment I will be scheduling an induction and just try to do everything else natural (that's where the doula comes in)
Snips, so close!!!! So excited for you!!

Hi Everyone, hope you're all well :) Congrats Pumpkin glad the two bubs are okay. I have ligament pain, braxton hicks I went to midwife after I felt a lot of bearing down at my cervix and she said the head is already low in my pelvis but is relatively normal, she said just to be weary cause supposedly number four may be the fastest and the fastest for me was 1hr18mins!...
Anyhow just enjoying getting kicked and punched for possibly the last time and setting up baby room :)

I'm doing good! Had appt today and about the same as last week. My dr. Doesn't put much stock in the dilating, indicating when I will go. She said it could still all happen at once. But I am still high so probably nothing this week. Is fine with me, rather go closer to due date.
As my name post thread said I was getting cold feet with our name. I never thought it would be so hard! Makayla just seems right for us:)

He's not as much of a fidget as I thought. He'll have a kick around for a little bit but will stop and start again later. He's so sometimish with it - MiL is still waiting to feel a decent kick - she's felt a bit of a shuffle but nothing more. He seems to know when people want him to 'perform' and will stop immediately. Hi ladies!! Some of you are getting so close!! Exciting! Can't wait to see baby pics :) Good luck!
GM - good luck, you can do it naturally!! I did with both my boys and I had fast, hard contractions; back labor with my first and regular with second. Biggest thing is to remember to relax your body during contractions, and let your body do its job! And push like hell when it's time ;) The good thing to keep in mind is...the pain won't last forever and in the end you get your baby!! If you end up needing epidural or something though, that's ok! Healthy mom and baby is what matters in the end!
I'm at a stand still right now, don't know what to do in terms of getting ready for baby! I have the nursery painted, and just waiting the get my stuff back/borrow things from people since we sold everything... (Stupid!) Seems too early to wash clothes so I don't really know what to do ha! This week, until the end of June is pretty crazy though so it's probably a good thing!

She's hoping to post photos at some point soon. She is still very sore from the c-section, but is already thinking of baby number 4! It still hasn't sunk in that Liah is a little girl. She's loving the pregnancy and newborn stage. If the twins keep going as they are she'll be able to take them home 2-4 weeks before their due date. They were due June 29th, so it should be around beginning/middle of June!

Hi ladies! 30 weeks today & had an apt this AM. Baby is doing good already in position & really I am feeling great. I have put on to much weight but I have done that with every pregnancy so it is what it is. I am sure it will come off at some point.
So excited for these next few weeks to fly by. I really doubt I will make it to 40 weeks, haven't made it to my due date since my first DS. Busy week with my kids this week as they finish up their last week of school than a family vacation & home to finish getting ready for baby. I simply can not wait!

Well I am still only 1 to 1.5 cm. I am feeling crampy and just more uncomfortable. I use to be sore at night but now can hardly walk all day! My body has had it.
I have always drank the tea. It does prepare your body for childbirth. Just make sure it's the red raspberry leaf tea, it will say for women's health, childbirth, toning uterus. This brand tastes more greeny leaf tea. I though I've had other brands that were more raspberry.

GT- I'm sure you've had your little girl by now so congratulations!!! Can't wait to hear about everything!!
Maria- so glad to see your little boy is coming home!!! What a horrific thing to have to go through, I can't even imagine!!! Big hugs to you and your sweet boy!!
ASFM- I went into the hospital on Wednesday after having contractions since Tuesday night. (I was 33 weeks on Tuesday) I got there and was 2cm but still thick and high. After an hour and a half I was checked again and I was at 3cm so they decided to admit me. They gave me nifedipine every 6 hours to stop the contractions and they gave me steroid shots to help develop her lungs faster. They did an ultrasound to check her weight and she is a plump 5lbs 12oz!!! It took them a little over 12 hours, but finally got the contractions to stop. They checked me again yesterday and I was still 3cm but now 50% thinned out, still high! So... I'm trying my best to keep her in until 35 weeks. I don't doubt that she won't be healthy if she was born before that, but hospital policy is any baby born before 35 weeks is admitted into the NICU and is unable to go home with mom and dad until the doctors give the ok :( I couldn't imagine going home without our baby girl!!!! DH has been so loving and supportive and we are getting so much help with the kids from both sets of our parents and my mom has offered to make dinner for us every night. It was a long 2 days both emotionally and physically (hospital beds are the worst to sleep in!! Especially being hooked up to 2 monitors and and IV!) but I'm home resting now!! I hope everyone else is doing well!!!!! I can't wait to start seeing some babies!!!!

GT77 so excited to meet your little girl! I hope all went smoothly and all is well with you both.
Menlc I hope little miss stays put for now. Little missy, behave for mummy! What are they doing to keep her in, have you been given medication or will bed rest be enough to help keep her in?
Oh no, snipsnsnails! Seriously?! How frustrating! Can DH help to get things moving?
AFM I'm fine for the most part. Not sleeping too well so am tired and exhausted. At least I go on maternity leave on Wednesday! Have been getting some weird pains every once in a while when I lie down - low stomach but off to the side for a few seconds randomly but no hardening of my tum which I half expected so likely not contractions. I think - I have no point of reference! Task for today is hospital bag packing (I know I've left it quite late :hide: but have it all listed so will be a 5 minute job). Birth plan is done so just a waiting game now. Am wondering how you know if you're dilating, I'm not sure if they check as standard at my various appointments from now on or not. Either way, I really hope when my waters go I'm not in the back of a car or out in public (or at work - what a nightmare!). I'm not sure why it bothers me so much but would really like for it not to be a public 'surprise attack' and be more of a controlled environment.

Still here...waiting...bunny, I know I stressed about my water breaking too but it never did with any of them. The dr. Always broke my water in the hospital, I start with contractions. So you might not need to worry, but it's hard to say.
