GT she is beautiful!!!! Congratulations!!!!!
Bunny- they gave me nifedipine to stop the contractions. It was an oral medication. I was having some contractions again last night but they have slowed down. DH has been amazing and has taken over ALL responsibilities!

That's cool were in Seaford :) and my son Zach has just turned 4 goes to 4 year kinder this year ;) only a bit older so will be another buddy for Aidan...will look you up
Yeah! I live in Frankston South and would love to meet you sometime (no pressure, I know we're busy with toddlers and babies on the way!) This is my FB https://www.facebook.com/monyglen?ref=tn_tnmn. It would be great if our little girls were buddies, all the little girls at the playgroup I take Aidan to are getting too big now. Next year he's going to 4 yo kinder and then it will be just Anya and me and a Playgroup full of of older kids! :)

I am now 32 weeks pregnant and feeling like I'm about to pop! BH are happening regularly. She still moves quite low but Doctor says she is head down and in the right position (??). She is very active now and I'm amazed at how stubborn she seems to be! It feels like she's running out of space in there but instead of moving upwards she seems to believe she can stretch her way in right down there, where she wants to be! :) It makes me laugh and go ouch many times, 8 weeks to go, getting excited now!

Am, you look great! I had tons of BH about that time and here I am 39 weeks and I don't think she is interested in coming!
Appointment today, last one at Dr.s office. If I don't go soon they will induce me June 3..I have always gone about 4 days before due date and never been induced! So we will see...

I had a membrane sweep at my appointment today! We will see if this gets things rolling. It worked with my last 2 kids but I think I was closer to 3 dilated when they did it. I am still only a 1cm. I hope it works!
Can you believe I am still a little nervous they made a mistake and it will still be a boy....I guess you don't truly believe until they are in your arms.

First, SHE will be a SHE, I am sure, it will be pretty special when you have her in your arms, but I know what you mean, we always wonder if they got it right, not matter how many tests and ultrasounds confirmed it :)
They don't come until they're nice and ready so try to relax and be patient, I know it's awful when they get that big that you can hardly walk without a BH or feeling like you're going to wee yourself with every step, I remember with Aidan I was so over it I asked the Doctor to sweep my membranes at about 38 weeks (and that hurt so badly I would never try again!), it didn't work, he did another sweep at 39 and Aidan did not come until 40w+4d when he was ripe :) He came 3 days before my scheduled induction, actually. They have a mind of their own our little ones. :) It's very close now, how exciting! I am still in disbelief that our group has it's first baby already with GT's little girl (so, so gorgeous!!!). I guess you're definitely next, aren't you?

Thanks for checking, but I am still here! I am due tomorrow and can't believe it. This is the longest I have ever gone being pregnant. She must be really comfy in there...Luckily I am not miserable and feeling good. Maybe soon?? If not I will be induced on Tuesday night..

I don't know if it's just in my head because this is my last pregnancy or if it's because we're finally having a girl and I just want to meet her.. Or maybe because I already went into labor last week and had it stopped so now I'm just even more anxious?! Hahaha I don't know!! I'm hanging in there tho! I'm throwing my sisters bridal shower this weekend so I will at least have a lot to keep me occupied!! :)

Hi ladies. Hope you're all well. I saw my Doctor yesterday and had a look at little Anya, she was practicing breathing, had a full tummy and was pouting, very cute. I brought Aidan along and he asked the Doctor to please take her out of my tummy so he could take her home :) Doc said we are having the c-section scheduled for the 39th week. I am now 33. It is getting very close.
To all the girls due in June, who's next in line to be holding a bubby? :)

Aww so cute! I think DH wants this little guy out now too - he has all these plans of what he wants to do with him. I hope he stays in and cooks just a little longer, but I'm starting to hit the stage where I'm done - not really sleeping at all from horrible acid to the point I feel I'm going to throw up, pelvic pain and the mission that is trying to turn over (I never thought I'd ever need a strategy for that!) Your due date is just racing along - so close! I bet you're so excited to meet your little pink bundle... I can't believe I have less than 3 weeks to go!
There's a few girls who are due now or very soon - is a shame they don't really post. Would be nice to see some pictures and stories... :)

LOL Bunny, laughing about needing a strategy to roll over :) I know exactly what you mean, to me it's all about scooting first and trying not to disturb my sciatica on the right side that kills me when I wake up. I also have very bad reflux, specially at night and find it hard to sleep when I taste my dinner again every 10 minutes, pretty awful! Some Gaviscon helps with it if you have any lying around. They say baby will have plenty of hair when you have reflux, I never suffered from reflux this badly with the boys, so I expect Anya to have a full head of hair! :) 3 weeks sounds like nothing really, can't wait to see your little man! x

Not necessarily (at least I don't think so). If baby's lungs mature then they may take bubba a bit early if there are any concerns, but may not if they think you'll not have any problems.

What will likely be my last midwife appointment tomorrow morning depending on if he decides to overcook! Will be a shame and will miss them - I'll miss laughing when he's kicked the doppler (again! Will see if he repeats that tomorrow), and listening to his heartbeat. Such a shame DH can't make it to this last appointment.
Although I'm getting quite uncomfortable, I still can't grasp that I have so little time left feeling him kick and hiccup and dance about in there. So looking forward to meeting our little guy...

I know what you mean, I am enjoying all the kicks and dancing in there because I know I will never feel this again, this is my last time so instead of cursing all the rib kicking and sudden movements that leave me out of breath, I am just smiling and trying to enjoy it, soon she'll be out and I'll never get to feel that connection of having an unborn inside ever again, it's so special. :awe:

Bunny it wasn't 28 hours of active labor (thank God lol) I came in at 9:30 am Monday morning at 2 cm dilated. But around 11:30 am I was at 4 cm so they admitted me.. After that I basically stopped dilating but still contracting every 2-5 minutes. They kept me all night and gave me some medicine to help sleep. By 8:00 am Tuesday morning I was finally about 6 cm dilated. Then by 10 am I was still at 6 cm so they broke my water which finally sent me into active labor!!

Little Jamie Nathan was born on 12/6 at 12.33pm weighing 7lb 8oz (3.4kg) and 20 inches (51cm) tall in record timing. My waters went the day before but didn't dilate so I was sent home. Got to the hospital at 10am after ringing to say I was contracting every 5 minutes but for only 30 seconds (they don't call you in until contracting at least for 45-60 seconds) but decided just to turn up anyway! I was examined after an hour and told I was ready to push! So pretty much a 2.5 hour labour!
He's a beautiful little guy and we're both totally smitten.
19327
19328
Very short labour but had 5 hours worth of stitches to fix internal and external second degree tears - little guy decided to come out with his hand on his face. There were a couple of patches local anaesthetic didn't work for no matter how many times she tried so a few high pitched screeches from me! Doing OK for now, just hoping it heals OK and without infection...

June 13th, 2014, 02:27 AM
Congratulations Hun, he is gorgeous!:) your birth story sounds very similar to when I had DS1 (quick labour, hand by his head, longer to stich up and I could feel it so screamed) and I healed up fine, so I wish you a speedy recovery. Get a foam ring to sit on if you havn't already! :) your baba even has the same little turned down tops of his ears like a puppy like my boy did (brings back so many memories!) I bet he was engaged for quite a long time?!? I loved watching them unfurl like tiny flower petals. Enjoy every second! It sounds like a cliche but it really does go so fast. Congrats again xxx

My little Maci was admitted into the children's hospital last night for jaundice. She is doing well and we should hopefully go home tomorrow. I'm just so exhausted, emotionally and physically. I went into the hospital Monday morning, left Thursday afternoon and then came to children's hospital Friday. I miss my 3 boys at home horribly and just want to go home and relax and enjoy my family!! I hope everyone is doing well!! I love seeing all these babies being born!!!

menlc I am so sorry you are going through this. All 4 of my kids have been jaundice to some degree. My oldest had treatment at home but my youngest was treated in the hospital. They took him to do his hearing test the night before we were to be released than refused to give him back. Besides the jaundice they were afraid he was developing an infection. Long story short he was fine but he wound up staying in the hospital for a few extra days & I slept there to cause I could not bear to leave him. Missed my other kids terribly & the hormones made an emotional time a nightmare.
Fingers crossed Maci is released soon & you are all home together. Easier said than done but try to take it easy between now & than I know the stress of the whole situation nearly drove me nuts. Hoping & praying you & Maci are back home soon!!

Sorry to hear you're back in hospital and Maci is jaundiced, it is so common though and I'm sure you'll be out of there very soon. It is such an emotional, crazy time right after we have a baby, I remember with Aidan I was a sobbing mess as he developed an infection and had to stay in hospital for 5 extra days, in total we stayed 10 days in hospital and I was just about walking out with him as I was so fed up! It would be even harder now as he is home and I can't imagine staying all that time away from home and him, the poor little guy has never even slept away from me! I'm glad DH is taking 3 weeks of work when this one is born, it won't be easy. Wishing little Maci a quick recovery x

AM, I have done nothing for this little one :( I have my appointment on the 20th and then go from there. Still waiting for confirmation about this baby being a girl. It sounds crazy but unless I hear it from my Dr here I can't bring myself to shop :/ My husband is coming home August 3rd and then we will do the big purchases, crib, seats etc and I have several friends/family sending me clothes so I haven't done any real shopping other than material for a baby quilt or blanket lol

Thank you ladies!!! We stayed two nights and we're now home!! The dr who released us said there is a good chance Maci will have to be admitted again.. She has to go get tested again today to check her levels and if they get too high, she has to go back. The dr said she has three risk factors working against her, 1. She is only a few days old and the jaundice might not have peaked yet 2. She was born premature and 3. Her and I have different blood types. She's eating, but bot doing great. She slept all night and only got up once at 3am to eat and I just had to wake her up at 8:30am to feed her and she hardly ate. Hopefully she starts to eat more!!

Ladies, I know this is TMI but has anyone lost any of their mucous plug early? I had a little bit coming out this morning, not much, like a fingertip and no blood. I am a bit over 34 weeks. I don't know if I should call the Doctor. Other than the BH I am not feeling any cramping or anything different. I never noticed losing the plug before so I'm unsure as to if it's a normal thing to start losing it this early?
SamS_TTCPink
June 17th, 2014, 09:26 PM
I started losing mine like that at about 34 weeks with DS6 but I think I read that it's ok and it can replenish itself. I ended up having him on his due date so it didn't make him come any earlier.

Aidansmum, my collegue is a resident in gynaecology and she told me that it is very normal to have some dilatation from 30 weeks onward with your second (or more) child and that that doesn't say anything at all.
I think you can loose some of the mucus plug too then. I think i lost something yesterday, because it was very thick amd abundant.
I shoudn't be worried, as long as i don't have cramps or many braxton higs or something.

June 18th, 2014, 07:22 PM
Thanks ladies, I tried calling the Doctor yesterday but he was only available for emergencies, so I will call again today just for peace of mind, but for what I've been reading it is quite normal and no need to panic unless cramps, contractions and blood follow, none of those thank goodness and nothing else came out, so I hope my body is regenerating the little bit I lost and little one will hang in there for another 5 weeks or so. She seems to be trying to find a way out by kicking the hell out of me though lol I guess it's getting tight because the last few days she's been full on with the kicking and pushing :)

Hey guys, just checking in. Have been admited to the hospital yesterday due to very low amniotic fluid and high blood pressure and have said the baby is measuring 3 weeks behind so I am being monitored to see how things go. No idea how long I will be in the hospital for but I am kind of hoping to go home tomorrow evening/night!! I live about 45 minutes from where I am so I would really like to go home and if possible be monitored locally there.
I guess life decided almost losing my son wasn't enough and I needed more drama :/

Hi girls, this is an update from our dear friend Greasemonkey/Maria, she was admitted in hospital with severe pre-eclampsia. Her precious little daughter Emah Helena Eby was born at 32 weeks weighing 2lbs 6oz. She is a little cutie (I'm sure Maria will post pictures as soon as she's feeling well again) and had an APGAR of 9 out of 9, a very strong little girl. She is also breathing on her own but will stay in the NICU until she's at least 5 lbs. Maria is very happy to have her little girl in her arms but she is still unwell and in her own words 'I am very sick with BP issues and they are afraid I am going to have a stroke if I don't get it under control', so your prayers and thoughts are appreciated in this difficult time for her.

Can't wait to see your little girl also! BTW did you schedule your C-section date yet? I love 7/17 that is DS3's bday ;)
aidansmum
June 30th, 2014, 11:17 PM
It is actually scheduled for 17/7!!!! What are the odds??? :) I am a bit in 2 minds though and wondering if I should push for the week after, reason being she will be 38 weeks + 4 days and I heard bad things can happen if you get them out before 39 weeks unless you have to? My Doctor came up with the date and he thinks is safe and says she is good size for gestation etc but I feel a bit uneasy, I would rather wait another 4 days or so, will talk to him next week about it. I guess he's a bit concerned that if we don't do it then she might make an appearance before we have a chance to do a C-section as he doesn't like the idea of going into labor AND having a CS. He says that considering my last traumatic delivery, age, etc I shouldn't tire my body with labor pains before going for a CS and that just turning up for the CS is safer. And because she has dropped and I have been shedding mucus plug he would rather not push it. Now I am unsure as to what to do. I trust him but you do hear horrible stories about babies being born before 39 weeks and having trouble breathing. :worry:

dreams529
July 1st, 2014, 11:39 AM
That is a tough one. Of course your dr should know what is best but you have to trust your gut also. I think a lot of times when babies are born at 38 weeks & have problems its cause their dates were off. Being we all swayed I think we should all be pretty accurate on dates but if something is telling you to wait than you should def listen to yourself! I have my fingers crossed for you!
I go back & forth between hurry up & be born already & than no wait until week 39. We have a ton to do this month & I feel so out of control with not knowing what little man will do. Can't decide if & when to do a bday party for ds3 or just skip it. Plus my DD has a 3 day softball tournament where we will be out in the heat for hours & dr's appts with the other kids... Everything is just so up in the air!! Have to remind myself everything will happen when its meant to!
aidansmum
July 1st, 2014, 08:24 PM
You're right about the swaying and gestation accuracy, I know exactly when she was conceived so it shouldn't be a problem. I trust my Doctor but I will still talk to him about it next week for peace of mind.
It does sound like you have a very busy time in the near future, at least it will keep your mind off labor and due dates, maybe being busy is better, no time to feel anxiety :)

This seems like some good info on why they say 39 weeks tends to be best:
Why at least 39 weeks is best for your baby | March of Dimes (http://www.marchofdimes.com/pregnancy/why-at-least-39-weeks-is-best-for-your-baby.aspx)
but you are only talking about a few days there, so maybe that isn't a big deal.
I hope my baby is born at 39-40 weeks... I'm not ready yet but it is hot and I feel big. I am looking forward to be finished with work next Monday so I can have some time to rest and get ready!

Thanks for the article Gafan. I guess 39 is the magic number. Doctor wants to book for thursday and she turns 39 weeks on sunday, that's 3 days too early, it doesn't sound like much but it does worry me, I guess I will ask if we can leave it for the following week.

Sorry to butt in but saw this thread on TapaTalk :-) Anytime after 37 weeks is considered full term and so I wouldn't worry at all especially if it's your doctor recommending it. My DS2 was born at 36 weeks and no difference in health than with his 2 brothers (42 weeks and 40 weeks). Just enjoy the last few days of pregnancy :-)

37 weeks is now considered late pre-term, not full term & are known to have more issues.
I have no idea why you need a cesarean, aidansmum, or why the dr is worried about the effect of labour on your body, but In making your decision you should know that going into labour, even if you're having a cesarean, it's far better for the baby. It makes it far less likely your baby will be early & will have some of the benefits of labour hormones, decreasing risks of breathing issues.
Most drs are still not following the March of Dimes' recommendation, unfortunately.

Good luck AM! Your getting close now. I know ACOG in the states recently changed the guidelines as the poster above stated. They won't do csections or induce until full term now, 40 weeks here. Unless there is a medical reason too. I'm sure your dr. Knows what's he is doing, but I can understand your worry too. I was surprised because of the new guidelines if I didn't go before my due date they wouldn't induce me until 4 days post due date! Thank goodness I went.

You ladies are so close!! Can't wait to hear of your new arrivals.
AM - I think you are safe either way. Thousands of babies are delivered before that date. My first son came at 36 weeks and was healthy as could be (I knew my dates). I know with some C-sections, the doctor doesn't want them going into labor at all and that depends on why they are having the C-section. I have a friend that her doc didn't want her to at all because last delivery the baby was stressed and the way her body was...but there are varying reasons. It just depends on why you have the feeling you want to wait....typical mommy worries or intuition?? Hope you guys can agree on something!
Hope everyone else is well! Love hearing updates :)

Aidansmum, follow your instinct. Here in the netherlands they don't do cs very often, although it has raised recently to 12%. Induction is almost never done before 41 weeks. Maybe that's the result of the system, with primary care midwifes who aren't allowed to induce and thus will wait longer.
I would always opt for a natural birth if, big if, it's possible.
Don't know your medical history, so that why i say if :-)

Bigwish, you're not enormous at all! Such a cute bump! But I know what you mean, I was told last week my bump looks small for gestation and I was shocked because I feel massive! :)
As for the C-section, it was decided because of nasty complications with my last labor, it was traumatic and it scarred me and I don't want to go through that again, even if there is a slight chance of it happening again, it would make me anxious and stress me out, so the Doctor offered a C-section and by reading a lot and talking to mums who had a CS I opted for a CS. My Doctor said that waiting for labor to start to then have a CS can bring more complications than starting one a bit earlier, and for what I've read I think he's right, I don't want to go into labor but would like to wait until week 39 because of evidence of babies breathing better from 39 weeks. It is not intuition, it's just me being overcautious but I make no apologies for worrying about it, who wouldn't? If he can push it just a few days later, say 4 or 5, I'll be happy. :)
aidansmum
July 2nd, 2014, 07:15 PM
And please note, the CS would be performed at 38 1/2 weeks as per his suggestion, not 37! I believe no elective CS should happen before 38 weeks!

I'm sorry your last delivery was so traumatic, you wouldn't expect that with a third child, would you?

One day people are in shock i tell them how many weeks i am. And the other day, they say it's a polite belly. My midwife says it's an average belly, maybe a tiny bit smaller than average. Well, i feel like 38 weeks already, also because my upper back hurts due to the weight it has to carry without abdominal muscles to support.
I'm on maternity leave now! Yeah!

No! I had no concerns, thought it would be easy peasy, I felt assaulted, seriously, I felt sorry for the Doctor who had to do the maneuvering of him inside of me but also angry because how come he didn't know, I would have had an epidural if I knew, never ever more! I have shivers just thinking about it. I am done feeling guilty and weak, I was very brave with every single baby I had, but that put me off for life, when the Doctor mention C-section I said 'hell yeah'. It's my last, I don't want to be all anxious and fearful.

We always feel so heavy at the end, maybe it's because we see the belly from the top down and we can't see anything else that we used to be able to. Can't trim my toe nails anymore, or shave my legs and I'm too proud to ask DH, last time I did it 2 weeks ago I worked up a sweat, it was like going for a light jogging lol.

I had a traumatic birth with the first, but it was caused by the hospital so I had the urge to have a naturale home birth to prove the docters I was capable without them (feelings for me no judgements to others. I think you ate making the right decision, if your that anxious it has to inflict on labor)

I gained 21-24 kg with all 3. It sucks. Lost it with the first 2. But weight isn't dropping anymore since the last. Not even with desperate measures. Lost 2,5 kg on LE pcos style and walking an hour daily. And the first 2 was in the first 2 months.
It makes me nervous.
But we'll see I just go fat Lol

July 4th, 2014, 07:01 PM
I gained 11 kg with my first, 14 with my second, 17 with my third and so far 16 with this one, but I was at my heaviest weight pre-pregnancy with this one, I am pretty big. Can't wait to shed some of this weight. I eat pretty much all I want though, I don't control my diet when pregnant, I have this 'I'll deal with my weight later' attitude, maybe that's why I can never really lose all the pregnancy weight, make it too hard for myself. But it's not fun what it does to your body, that's for sure.

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. Sorry for being MIA. Well our little girl Emah Helena was born on my Birthday on June 25th, at 32 weeks 1 day via emergency c-section. I was admitted in the hospital on June 20th after my fluid was extremely low, below normal, and baby measuring 3 weeks behind. I was being monitored closely and given medication and 2 steroid shots for her lungs but on my birthday I had developed severe per-eclampsia and was told I would have an emergency section. I was really in bad shape, I could hardly breathe, I was shaking, I was lethargic, BP was way in the 190s so there was no option but to deliver. I was scared, upset that things took a wrong turn in a matter of hours :(
Emah was born at 3:11pm with her namesake by my side!! She was immediately prepped and sent to the NICU for being small. Baby girl came out swinging, wide awake, and healthy other than being small. She was only 2 lbs and 8 oz but was alert and full of attitude from the minute she came out!!!
I remained in the hospital until the 30th due to BP issues. They could not regulate my BP and they didn't want to let me go home. Emah still remains in the hospital and is breathing on her own. She is in the incubator with a feeding tube due to her being little. She is already eating about 1 oz every 3 hours and other than a few breathing pauses she is doing well and is working on getting some meat on her bones so she can come home :)
It has been really hard, I live about 45 minutes away from the hospital so it's hard for me to go see her daily so I go when I can which is 2 or 3 times a week. Not enough but I have 2 boys to think of and a recovery so I have to take what I can. Hubby is coming home in less than 30 days so I am excited for August to be here already!!!

I haven't lost any weight with this pregnancy but with my last DS I did, Doctor said it was just baby pushing on my tummy which made me feel full and made me eat less. I don't think you should be worried about it. I wish I had lost a few pounds :) Doc told me off today cause I put on tooo much, but then he added 'it doesn't show on you though' :) Clever! My babies were born 37,38,39 weeks and all were great... only first haf slight jaundice
QUOTE=aidansmum;599379]It is actually scheduled for 17/7!!!! :worry:[/QUOTE]

Getting anxious for this little one to be born. Lost the mucus plug last week & I have been getting a lot of strong contractions but unfortunately they don't get consistent. I have not been losing any weight but I am having a very hard time finding foods that I can eat. At this point pretty much everything makes me nauseous. Hoping little man decides to come sooner rather than later but since I have never gone in to labor on my own I am not holding my breath.

We are doing well here. She is getting big, 9'7 at her 1 month appt. she just recently started a social smile back to me which just melts my heart. I think it's going to take time to get used to having a girl after all the years of dreaming now it's reality. I really hope she is home soon. You was due around the time I'm due so I will try to remember that the next time I feel tired and drained. I have already been admitted twice this month with my blood pressure so it's just a matter of when it catches up with me too. It's not what you expect with your third baby is it? It took me a long time to get over my first sons bith due to PE and a long time physically for my BP to settle after all my kids. But it takes times, you will all be ok in the end. It was a bit shock for you so it's only right you take the time to process it all before you can put it behind you x

Ah Bless you greese. I know how you feel I think. There is some guilt that your body let you down, why me, your robbed of the birth you dreamed of, you wasn't ready etc. I does go in time. You need to wait to realise for yourself it was all totally out of your hands. Yes I still feel like my body is a bit rubbish at making babies but I can forgive it now as I do have my lovely kids safe and sound with me. My womb doesn't have to be the best damn womb in the world. It just needs to do what it says 'on the tin' ie get my babys safely into this world. You will feel yourself again soon, but don't rush it and don't feel bad about how you feel.
I can't imagine how hard it must be leaving her in hospital but that too will be over soon. The harder you fight for your baby the more you will feel overwhelming protectiveness. It will make you stronger too. But you are already one strong mummy! Thoughts are with you x

Had my apt Mon & dr. felt strongly I would have this little one before next Mon. If not he said he would strip the membrane than. Been feeling crappy for days with on & off contractions & I was already 3cm dialated Mon. Lost the mucus plug before (which I thought I did a few weeks ago but Im sure I did now, never lost it before in any other pregnancy)& I've been super crampy so maybe the Dr. is right & little one is deciding on coming. Good luck AM! Can't wait to see pictures!
Momof3- your twins are so adorable, I bet you have your hands full. How is it with the boys and twins?
We are great here. Will try and post a picture when I get a moment. I try and read but not much time to post.
Good luck to those waiting!

Eeeeek! My consultant just rang to tell me not to come for my clinic appointment tomorrow, but instead he wants me to come in to be induced on Thursday!!! Wasn't expecting this at all, think it's to do with my age, they want the little one out safe and sound, sooner rather than later. I will be 39 weeks and 1 day.
Now it's a major rush to get changing tables and cribs unpacked and put together, as well as last minute purchases for my hospital bag (I'm not the most organised person!)
